  • Need help tv@nywhere

    Hey all,
I just recently bought a tv anywhere card.  Took me a while to figure out there is no stereo sound.  But anyways the card works fine, except one thing.  On the top left of the screen, green letters will pop up displaying the channel number.  But mine keep on displaying: 0, 00, 000, 0, 00, 000 ...  and it never tops.  The effect is the same as someone keep on pressing the numpad 0.  I thought my keyboard is stuck, but it isn't.  Has anyone experienced this?  Is there is solution?  thanks.

I just bought the card today and have had the same and more problems. Lemme explain how i fixed two of them, and then maybe you all can help me.
The 0 00 000 0 00 000 was fixed for me with the latest update. (but another problem arised with the update..thats for later) Heres the URL to the update page
The update is the top most file
I also had a problem with the sound as well. But mine was due to improper connection. Make sure that you have the LINE OUT on your tv tuner connected to the sound card LINE IN, then your speakers connect as usual to the sound card speaker out. The sound is not supposed to pass through the tv tuner, the sound is supposed to come out of the tv tuner and pass through your regular sound card. I had mine set up to go in the tv tuner and out of the tv tuner to my speakers and it would only support mono sound as well. So i connected the line out on the tv tuner to the line in on the sound card and that fixed the problem.
    Now for my problems.
1 - i cant get the remote to work. Im running Windows XP Pro w/ service pack one. And it hasnt ever worked. I tried to uninstall the drivers (not sure i did that right though) and reinstall, but still the remote doesnt work. Any suggestions?
2 - After i installed the update it wonderfully fixed the flashing number problem, but now its messed up the sound. When i start up WinDVR the first channel it starts on works fine, but when i change the channel the sound turns to crap, and stays that way. THe only way i can get it to go back to normal is under the device tab, in the source option, i have to reclick TV then re hit apply. That fixes the sound for whatever channel im currently watching. But again whenever i change the channel the sound goes crappy and i have to hit TV as the source again. Pretty annoying.
Any comments on that at all?
    Thanks

hpkuo credits this to sizzle in his hints and tips thread, but I'll elaborate a little. The problem is caused by QuickTime codecs installed by Nero 6.3.1.15. It is unclear whether later versions of Nero were fixed, but earlier versions should be okay. "A "quick fix" is to rename the files "NeQTADec.ax" and "NeQTVDec.ax" in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\"."

  • Tv @nywhere Master w/ Vista Ultimate Driver help

I have Tv @nywhere Master and when i try to install the 'certified for windows vista drivers', it wont let me. I open up the rar file and then i click on setup and click next and then next and then an error pops up and it says 'system cannot detect the device on your computer, please make sure the device is connected properly'. I have tried taking it out of my desktop and putting it back in, ive tried uninstalling all of the drivers and reinstalling them, and ive tried opening up the driver folder and opening x86 folder and clicking on SetupDrv.exe and i get the same error... when i open up the setup on the x64 folder, i get an error that says "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see weather you need an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." I think i have tried just about everything... Any help is much appreciated...
    My computer specs are...
amd athalon 64X2 Dual core processor 4800+,
    3 Gig Ram
    Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE Graphics
    Windows Vista Ultimate
    320 GB hard drive...

Where did you get Vista drivers for TV@nywhere Master? Are you sure you're referring to the right product? MSI discontinued the Master card long before Vista was available, and they are certainly not listed on their website:
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=132&prod_no=638
Of course, some might argue that the Master drivers never worked properly under XP, but thats another subject
My honest advice, if you really do have the TV@nywhere Master is to ditch it, and buy a newer card, which does have Vista support.

  • HELP tweaking TV @nywhere

I was wondering if it is possible to tweak the settings on the TV @nywhere card. I mean settings like the PAL and NTSC settings. I need to have a setting for "artificial" PAL, wich would be regular PAL settings but with only 525 lines instead of 625 . Is this possible?

Sorry, I haven't used the software in months and it's installed on my dad's computer, so I'm going by memory here. In the settings panel (the wrench icon in MSIPVS), There's a tab I believe is called "Record." You will see a list of profiles that you can choose from (pre-defined and user defined). From here you should be able to clone the settings. Number of vertical lines should be one of them.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help! New TV@nywhere MS-8876 card not working

I seem to have the misfortune of buying this card of EBAY.  The Vendor has been very supportive, and has helped me through much of the start up of this card.  I have located, downloaded and cracked the MSIPVS from MSI website.  Patched it, got it running and attached my antenna to it.
Fired it up, and got nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  Black screen, no raster, no sound.
PVS runs, searches for channels, but still nothing.
Can anyone help me with this?  The vendor insists that the card is functional and will accept a return if I can prove that it is faulty.
I am running WIN98SE fully updated on MSI 745U motherboard, and MSI AGP video card.
    Please help...

the serial number is the same one printed on every single CD shipped with MSI TV hardware. i really don't know why they bothered.

read this sticky i wrote ages ago - of course, substitute "TV@nywhere Master" for "TV@nyhwere", and ignore references to BETA drivers.
if you are using Win98, make sure you have at least DirectX 8.1 installed. you can download the latest version from microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

  • Transfering NTSC VHS using TV @nywhere Master....Plz Help!

    Hi!
Im trying to transfer NTSC VHS using Philips VR422 VHS Video Recorder. This is able to play NTSC VHS Video's normally on any TV.
But When I use TV @nywhere Master it doesnt display properly and I only get it in black and while and the display sometimes has a bar at the top and/or bottom usually flickering displaying a previous part of the recording.
Now I have used the Coax/Phono(RCA)/S-Video inputs from the Coax source and the both scart connecters (ex1 & 2) using a scart coverter connector and still have the same problem.
Now I live in the UK and obviously here it's PAL-I but i have tried from setup/installation both NTSC (& NTSC-M) and PAL-I and still get it in black and white!, ive tried changing these after installation with no joy!, I have used the original drivers and have the latest WDM drivers and PVR1 & 3 downloaded from the MSI website.
I have no probs with the sound coming in through L/R Phono's to 3.5mm using the Line-In.
Does anyone know how to get this setup so it players normally through the TV @nywhere Master or could someone help me in finding either a DVD recorder that can do it or a service (local to Birmingham,UK) which i can use as I need to get these done ASAP!!... HELP!!!

unfortunately there are two versions of TV@nywhere Master; if you have the PAL one (for Europe) then it won't work with NTSC signals (or vice-versa)

  • My remote will not work with my TV @nywhere card, Please help.

I have just installed my TV @nywhere card and it works great. I have all the cables plugged in right but I can't get the remote control to work. I even tried a new battery. I'm running windows XP pro. Any Suggestions?

What's wrong with it is it's broken. The power button is broken. The dock port may be broken. The battery may have reached the end of its useful life.
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and have it checked out. There are no words that will fix failed or broken hardware other than "here is my credit card"...

  • TV@nywhere problem...please help

    Hi All,
I am trying to install this tv@nywhere Master on a PC133, Socket 370 PIII Amptron MB computer.
I am running windows 2000 professional.  I can install anyother PCI card and it will detect the card.  I install this TV@nywhere PCI card and the system will NOT see the card.  I have tried all (3) PCI slots.  I took it to the computer store to have them check the card on their computer, which was running Windows XP  and the card was detected, ergo the card was not bad.
My computer will not recognize this Card.  Any suggestions out there?  I've never had any probs with this computer and I am very computer literate both hardware and software.
    Thanks..

Ok if the WDM video capture have nothing to do with my TV @nywhere, then does anyone have any idea what my problem is?  With just XP the card worked beautifully and picked up all channels.  Now it scans and picks up nothing.  I have tried every program out there to no avail:  powerVCR II, showshifter, virtual vcr, WinDVR, etc...the only program I HAVE NOT tried is MSIPVS b/c I don't have my cd case with me and therefore the serial #.  But regardless, no other program will pick up channels, I only get blue.  Should I check IRQ's or perhaps move PCI slots?  Or is it something else?  Thanks guys.

  • TV@nywhere Driver Problem...PLEASE HELP!

I just reformatted and put SP1 on XP and reinstalled all the drivers from the MSI Site.  Everything installed correctly except when one thing, nVidia WDM video capture (universal).  Under device manager there is an exclamation point there and its properties say: This device cannot start. (Code 10).  I click on "update drivers" and point to where I unpacked the nvidia wdm drivers, but it still doesn't work.  No matter what program I try, i cannot get it to find any channels.  What can I do?  This worked fine on my previous install of XP without SP1.

  • MSI Tv@nywhere Help.

I got my tuner card last week and everything installed fine. But there are there is a problem and a question I have for anyone that can help since MSI tech support doesn't seem to know what to do ?( . The qusetion is how do I change channels and settings from the client side while streaming tv over the internet like their website says it does? My problem is the IR receiver does not seem to work and thus I can't use the remote. I going to send it back to folks I bought it from for exchange but I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions? I know the remote works as far as sending out IR signals because I could train a universal remote with it plus I had bought a new battery. I also uninstalled the WDM drivers because someone stated it prevented him from using the remote but that didn't help either.

I don't believe that anything MSI has said about MPEG4 on their website is true.  I wouldn't waste your time with the card until they have these features up and working.

  • Tv @nywhere Help

Cable line is hooked up but cant watch TV, tried auto search but can only get channels 5 & 6. What am I doing wrong? Can @nyone HELP?

    Post your country/video settings.
Try changing the antenna/cable setting (you never know which one is working better). Also try changing your country (with one with same video system - PAL/SECAM/NTSC - as yours). Sometimes you'll find much more channels with other country setting.
It is a classic prob. It was a detailed post here from dixonbg explaining why things like these are hapening.
