Help??!! Using quiz file in .pdf document

Hi, I am trying to integrate a quiz into a document that is created using inDesign and ultimately made available via pdf. I thought I could create the quiz in Captivate, convert it to a file to open in acrobat, save the acrobat file as a pdf, and combine the documents into one pdf. I've gotten as far as the creation of the quiz as an acrobat but when I try to open the pdf I only see one blank slide.
What am I doing wrong? And can you think of an easier way to do this??!!

I did followings
PMString joboptionsFilePath("pdf.joboptions");
                    IDFile joboptionsFile(joboptionsFilePath);
InterfacePtr<IPDFExportPrefs> pdfExportPrefs((IPDFExportPrefs*)::QuerySessionPreferences(IID_IPDFEXPORTPREFS));
if( !FileUtils::DoesFileExist(joboptionsFile) )
                                             ErrorCode eCode = pdfExportPrefs->ReadJobOptionsDataFromDisk(joboptionsFile);
                    here function returns 1
Not able to found the reason why it returns 1. What things I am missing

  • Looking for help for sharing pdf files with ipad from mac.  Pages only recognizes text.  What app should I use for file sharing pdf documents?

    Looking for advice on how to share pdf files with iPad from Mac.   Pages seems to only recognize text.   What app is recommended for pdf documents?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    If I understand your question, you want to read pdfs on your iPad, not create or edit.
    Drag pdf files to the iPad icon in Finder while connected to your computer via the USB cable.
    They will show up in the iBooks application
    (If you don't already have iBooks, it's a free download from the App Store.)
    Once installed, there are two buttons at the top left of the Bookshelf.
    One is Books, the other is Collections.
    Tap Collections, and you'll see Books and PDFs.
    Tap PDFs and you're there.

  • Help using jar file!

    Help using jar file!
    Hello
    I have created a jar file by using
    jar cvmf Manifest.txt myjar.jar 1.class Mydirectory
    In 1.java file :I have used
    JEditorPane editor;
    editor.setPage(getClass().getResource("/Mydirectory/default.htm"));
    If I am only giving myjar.jar file to the client without Mydirectory then also it is working fine by showing default.htm in JeditorPane.
    But my problem is I want to use
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c start IEXPLORE"+targetstr) ;
    targetstr will be the filename with path of the default.htm
    If I am giving myjar.jar file with Mydirectory to the client it is working but I don't want to give Mydirectory to the client .
    What should I do?
    Is there any solution for this?
    Using another jar file which will include mydirectory can solve this problem?
    Is there any othe concept in java so that I wll be able to hide Mydirectory from client?
    Please help.

    It seems like you could extract the .htm file from the jar, either with Runtime.exec or using the Jar API classes.

  • PLEASE HELP. Cannot open a PDF document via a link in an email. I am using Mac 10.7.5 and Firefox.

    If I receive a PDF document attached to an email by way of an icon, I can double click on the PDF icon and the document opens. HOWEVER, if I receive a link to a PDF document in an email, and I click on the link which leads me to a webpage with another link to a PDF document, when I click on the document, a new web page opens but NOTHING happens - no download box - just nothing.
    Please help. This is so frustrating.
    Yes, I can right click and 'Save As' - but I don't want to. I want it to open as it used to open - displaying the open PDF document in a new web page.
    Then I tried to click on a download button on a website to retrieve my statement - but again, a new web page would open but it would be BLANK. No sign of any download.
    When I used to open PDFs on a webpage, I used to get the Download box which asked if I want to OPEN or SAVE. This doesn't appear any more.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    I have already gone to HD / Internet Plug-ins and deleted the two Adobe PDF plug ins - but this hasn't fixed my problem.

    Step 1: select Mac OS  X 10.6-`0.`0

  • Help With Creating 'Hi-Res' PDF Document?

    Hi
    I am needing to meet a deadline tomorrow in supplying a magazine publication with a trade advert for my business.
    The magazine editor tells me he requires my advert to be emailed to him in 'HI-RES PDF FORMAT, 300 DPI'.
    Currently, my advert is a simple MICROSOFT WORD document, which is printed out for flyers etc. It is acceptable quality for my needs. I have very little knowledge at this point of making my advert into 'HI-RES PDF'.
    However, I do have access to ADOBE ACROBAT V9.0 PRO EXTENDED, and understand I can use this to create the document that is required?
    My main questions at this point are, where do I begin researching how to turn my current WORD document into the '300 DPI HI-RES' picture that is required? What is the process involved? How do I go about 'creating a hi-res picture' from my humble Word document?
    What I don't understand at the moment is, the difference between me emailing the magazine my Word document in its current .doc form, and needing to involve Adobe Acrobat to achieve 'best quality' HI-RES/300 DPI. Do I need to make my Word document into PDF to improve its quality?
    Totally new to this, would greatly appreciate any help/advice.

    I wish I had more time to spend getting up to speed on these issues, unfortunately the deadline looms tomorrow [new business, urgent last minute advertising and all that]. I expect to have a genuine hi-res advert ready for next month's issue - in the meanime, Aandi, how would you recommend I best go about things from what I have, or can modify/recreate fairly quickly?
    Guidlines given by magazine publication: 'Hi-Res PDF Document, 300DPI, 12cm W x 9cm H
    OK, my advert in Word is mostly black text on a white background, and there is a colour picture in it [to help illustrate my services]. So the picture is not 300dpi hi-res, I accept that, and I accept it will not be printed in the magazine necessarily any better than I can manage from my inkjet printer.
    But considering the magazine is a glossy, hi-res publication, surely the picture will not be printed in any WORSE quality than I can get out of my cheap £80 printer? If I know what to expect, I know how I can play around with the current lo-res images I have at my disposal.
    There are a number of options I currently have to replace the picture in my advert, and some have a deliberately 'hazy' look to them already - I am thinking perhaps pictures with this kind of styling which are far from 300 DPI anyway would be a better choice? At least in the printing reproduction, the degrasion would not look like a cheap 'error' but rather simply the style of the picture?
    And what about my Word TEXT? Forgetting pictures for the moment, will the all important text parts of my advert reproduce as good as I can get them in 'best' quality from my printer?
    What I am aiming for this evening, is once I have decided upon the kind of lo-res picture [if any] I am including in my advert, allowing for degrasion because it is not 300 DPI, can I then concentrate on the TEXT information and still work on this within MICROSOFT WORD before submitting it to Adobe Acrobat and producing the PDF document? I do not have to do anything special to the text at any point to make it 'high resolution'?
    Thank you again for your help so far.

  • HELP:Merging External File (JPG/PDF) into XDP/XML Merged PDF on Client

    I need some serious help pointing me in the right direction.
    What I have...and is working:
    I have an Invoice Template/PDF/Form created by LiveCycle with form fields.  When requested by the user, in real-time I send XML from my server that is merged with the PDF template to create a single PDF file with multiple pages of invoices.  Each invoice fits on one page.  Works great...technically I think this is called or used XDP to merge the two on the client computer with a PDF and XML being supplied by the server.
    The server is just a generic Unix/PHP/MySQL environment...no Adobe products are installed (or can be installed on that machine).  I rely entirely on the client's computer to assemble and create the finished PDF.
    What I NEED:
    So the client is now asking that I be able to insert receipts into the invoice PDF stream.  So in order words you would still have the invoices above, but if we happen to have scanned receipts for a given invoice, they want those embedded into the PDF.  A finished product would look like:
    Page 1 - Invoice 00001
    Page 2 - Receipt #1 for Invoice 0001
    Page 3 - Receipt #2 for Invoice 0001
    Page 4 - Invoice 00002
    Page 5 - Invoice 00003
    Page 6 - Receipt #1 for Invoice 0003
    etc.
    Can someone point me in the right direction to make this happen?
    Perfect world, I would like to have the invoices be actual images of the receipts (assume we need to have a JPG or PDF scan of the receipt)
    Okay world, I guess we could just attach the actual document so if it is XLS, DOC, PDF...etc...I don't need to convert...just attach.
    Last choice, I could just include hyperlinks back to our server for the client to click on and open the receipt document as we store it.

    From your post it sounds like you are Central Pro (a product for which I am by no means an expert), but you say you want to upgrade to a newer product from your "legacy" one. Is there a reason for this? Have your requirements change so that it no longer fits them? Central is still in the current Adobe roster and as far as I know there is no plans to get rid of it any time soon, so if it does everything you want I don't see why you would want to change.
    There is no product in the LiveCycle suite that merges xml data into a form from the command line. LiveCycle (with the exception of Designer) is a suite of server products, so the closest you would come is LiveCycle Forms (merge the xml and create a fillable PDF) or LiveCycle Print (merge the xml and print the form).
    Hope this helps somewhat.

  • Help using texture files in CS4

    Hi all,
      I'm trying to do something that seems like it should be fairly simple.  I'm trying to create a plane and apply a color map and a bump map, so the final render basically shows an overhead view of a flat surface showing the color map, with some depth added by the bump map.  I have been creating a new file in RBG format, creating a new 3D postcard from layer (giving me the plane), and applying a color map and a bump map (both jpegs from Dosch Design) using the 3D {Materials} pane.  Whenever I render the final image, it usually appears completely washed out (i.e., it looks like a washed-out version of the bump map).  Can anyone figure out where I am going wrong, or what I need to do differently?  I find that I can see the color map only when I insert it as the Diffuse map (when I insert it as the Normal map, it is not shown).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    Thanks.  I've used Photoshop for a while, but I'm new to the 3D stuff.  I was thinking of the RBG information in the texture maps as color information, as opposed to how Photoshop interprets that information from a texture map.  I think that part of the reason the final render appeared "washed out" was that the global ambient color was set to white.  I've spent a bit of time playing with the various settings (and following your suggestions), which definitely helped - I'm thinking that I really need to spend more time working with the program.  Do you know of any good 3D tutorials that you would recommend again?  Thanks again.

  • Non helpful screen announcement - "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept end user license agreement then quit and relaunch browser."

    I recently updated my Mac operating system and now regularly get the above message whenever I click on website pdf(s).  I have tried to relaunch Adobe Reader - but nothing remotely resembling an end user license agreement ever shows up.  I can find nothing on the Adobe "help" sections that mentions anything about this problem.  Any suggestions?

    Tried this any number of times.  I double click on the icon and nothing comes up - there is no lead, no directions, nothing comes up.  I click on page top menu bar and can access legal notice page - but no end user agreement page shows up.  Do I have to delete all Adobe Reader software and start over with a fresh download?

  • Open pdf files with pdf document

    hi, how do I include a pdf file that I can open within a pdf. many thanks

    What's,with,the,commas?
    If you have a tablet that runs full Windows 8 - not Windows 8 RT, which is limited.
    And if you install the full Adobe Reader for Windows, not the special Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8.
    Then you will have the same features as a desktop.
    Unless they can't be accessed in touch mode, since it isn't a touch app.

  • Using Buzzword to review pdf documents

    I am writing a paper using LaTeX from which I generate a pdf.  Presently, my collaborator reviews and marks up the pdf off-line, then sends the marked up version back to me.  We would like to use Buzzword to streamline this operation.  Unfortunately, Buzzword does not seem to accept pdf uploads.  Is there some way we can use Buzword, or is this outside its capabilities?

    Hi e.earl.e .
    I would recommend generating images from your LaTex utility and inserting them into Buzzword using the "Insert Image" function.
    {If the utility cannot generate an image, then generate a pdf and use the "Select" feature in the free Acrobat Reader to copy the image to the clipboard, and save it as a JPEG using your favorite image editor.}
    That way, you and your collaborator could leave comments for each other in Buzzword and even maintain a version list using Buzzword's History function.
    Good Luck!

  • Help using manifest file classpath.

    I have a jar file (A) that is dependant on another jar file (B). When I run my app, which references jar A, if it doesn't also include jar B in its class path I get an error referencing jar B (as expected)
    Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/io/FileUtils
    But if I add the following to jar A's manifest file:
    Class-Path: E:\commons-io-1.1.jar
    if get an error referencing jar A
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: utilities/gui/ExitApplicationProducer

    Ok, now I have "Class-Path: .\commons-io-1.1.jar"...That's still Windows-specific. If you want it to be relative to the referring jar, then simply specify commons-io-1.1.jar without the windows-specific path notation prefixing it.
