Help with AVTransmit...HELP

Ok I have follow the program to the point that the RTPManager does the initialize to the local address. Everything works until it gets to the code to initialize. It then errors and the rest of the program can not run. The values that are going in are valid. The program runs as a standalone but not when I run it within Netbeans. Can any one help me with the problem. The code comes from AVTransmit2.

It then errors and the rest of the program can not run. Seriously, you post that it spits out errors and it doesn't occur to you to post what the errors are? Are you intentionally trying to waste everyone's time, because it seems pretty obvious to me that if you're asking "why does my program throw errors?", it seems pretty obvious you should post the errors you're asking about...
The program runs as a standalone but not when I run it within NetbeansYou didn't add JMF.jar to the libraries folder of Netbeans. You have to do that.

Problem with AVTransmit

Hello,
I am new to jmf and I'm trying to develop a simple streaming mp3 server. The problem is that when I start AVTransmit with the following parameters
file:/z:/vivi/stauroula/project/Server/src/server/kantina.mp3 195.134.65.181 1022
it seems to work OK. I get the following messages:
Track 0 is set to transmit as:
mpegaudio/rtp, 22050.0 Hz, 16-bit, Stereo, LittleEndian, Signed, 10000.0 frame rate, FrameSize=32768 bits
Created RTP session: 195.134.65.181 1022
Start transmission for 60 seconds...
...transmission ended.
The problem is that JMFStudio does not receive the data. I open an rtp session with port number 1024 (portbase + 2) and I get a message " Waiting for data".
Am I doing something obviously wrong here??

You were right... I thought that the first track would use destportbase+2 and not just destportbase...
But trying in a different machine this time a get the following message from JMF Studio:
Controller Error [...] Failed to handle a data format change!
What could this mean?
I tried with different mp3s but no success...

Is there a way to be able to test transmission and reception on the same machine? Yes.
In AVTransmit2, take a look at the createTransmitter() function, specificlly the following 2 lines:
localAddr = new SessionAddress( InetAddress.getLocalHost(), port);
destAddr = new SessionAddress( ipAddr, port);The local address is what the transmitter is going to bind to for it's send operations. The destination address is what the transmitter is going to address outgoing packets to.
Think about what that means in the case of ipAddr being localhost...
localAddr = new SessionAddress( InetAddress.getLocalHost(), SessionAddress.ANY_PORT );
destAddr = new SessionAddress( ipAddr, port);Try that, and think about why that works and why the original lines didn't.

If I change the reference, I'm left with the following:

Trying to use AVTransmit with AVReceive

I am working on a video conferencing app that leverages multicast. I am new to JMF so please forgive my newbie status. I would like to receive Audio/Video streams on my app and retransmit them via multicast. My main question is can I receive a RTP/Video stream using AVReceive2 and then immediately ( or close to immediate) transmit via AVTransmit2.java. I am trying to understand the code and cannot decipher what object within AVReceive that I can use in the AVTransmit's constructor.
Any thoughts out there. A small example would be awesome.

Iam currently using AVTransmit & Recieve. The Receive simply plays a media file which has been transmitted over a network . It does not store the file automatically. To transmit a file with AVTransmit, I think the file has to be stored locally first before you can transmit it. But Iam sure with you want to achieve, it can be possible with more modifications to the code. Hope this helps.

RTPExport problem

Hi, I'm a newbie to JMF and how to handle media file stream over RTP. What I need to do now is to receive a media stream from RTP, then play it and save it to a file at the same time. I have read throught the example and explanation on the Java Sun website, and here's what I think I'm gonna do:
- Use AVReceive's method to receive and play the stream.
- Use RTPExport's method to save the stream to a file.
- Merge the two file, using Clone to make copies of the data source, then pass to both threads.
However, I'm stuck at the step of understanding RTPExport concept. Somehow it's not woking properly. I use RTPExport with AVTransmit to transfer a sample .wav file.
Here's what I got:
java RTPExport -o file:temp.wav 192.168.137.54:10004/audio- create processor for: rtp://192.168.137.54:10004/audio
- set content descriptor to: WAV
- create DataSink for: file:temp.wav
start transcoding ...
...done RTPExporting.
The output file "temp.wav" has a size of only 8 bytes, no matter what the file sent to RTPExport. I have tried sending different type of file and saving in different format (like .mov) but the problem persists.
Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?

You might try setting the duration to something like 15 seconds and seeing if that affects the RTPExport stuff... more than likely, you're just having an issue with all of the shutdown events happening correctly.

Play audio on CTI Port

I'm trying to play an audio when I call a CTI Port.
I'm sending the audio to 127.0.0.1 in the port 23456 with AVTransmit (It works well with RTPRX).
I registered my application with terminal.register (InetAddress.getLocalHost(), 22222, caps);
My CTI port answers the call and receive CiscoRTPOutputStartedEv event, but I hear nothing.
Am I missing something? Do I need to do something else in my observers?

Wneh you get your CiscoRTPOutputStartedEv, you need to get the CiscoRTPProperties from it. Then call getRemoteAddress() and getRemotePort(). One of them will be the address and port you need to send your RTP to.
I'm surprised that sending your RTP stream to the loopback port actually does anything ...

JMStudio back and forth

I'm just trying to get JMStudio up and working. I bring up two sessions, with one I transmit a wav file. With the other I try to connect to the rtp session and it says that it can't start the session manager.
What am I missing?

I've now set up on two systems. One a linux machine, the other windows.
I can now start up the two JMStudio sessions, have one transmit and the other recieve. Except it doesn't. The recieving end never says there is a connection.
So here's the question. What IP should I be using for unicast. If my linux box is transmitting (192.168.0.101) and the windows box is recieving (192.168.0.102) shouldn't I set up the reciever as the IP on both?
I've now even tried this with AVTransmit and AVRecieve examples, both the 2 and 3 versions. Same results. Oh, and I've done this on two different networks, both at work and at home thinking there may be some UDP filtering going on with the workplace routers.
Any more advice?

Looking for a little help on a query. I would like to list all the goods receipts for a given date range and then display the AP Invoice information (if its been copied to an AP Invoice). Help with if statement in cursor and for loop to get output

I have the following cursor and and want to use if else statement to get the output. The cursor is working fine. What i need help with is how to use and if else statement to only get the folderrsn that have not been updated in the last 30 days. If you look at the talbe below my select statement is showing folderrs 291631 was updated only 4 days ago and folderrsn 322160 was also updated 4 days ago.
I do not want these two to appear in my result set. So i need to use if else so that my result only shows all folderrsn that havenot been updated in the last 30 days.

How do I incorporate a if else statement in the above cursor so the two days less than 30 days since last update are not returned. I do not want to send email if the project have been updated within the last 30 days.

Help with math / calculations in RTF templates

I know that there are math capabilities in the templates... I've seen the code samples in the Core Components guide.
What this doesn't tell you is WHERE these things would go in a template. And... that... is my question.
We are just starting to use BIP in conjunction with JDE EnterpriseOne (8.12, tool set 8.97.12). For our first attempt we're creating our template over a new report.
I have a template where I sum two different repeating values (through the normal BI Properties) and place these values in two separate cells in a table. I want to sum the two of these together for a "grand" total.
I've seen the "examples" but they really aren't very helpful. The xsfo, etc. for doing addition is fine, but WHAT are the values to add and WHERE does the code go?
If anyone has done something like this or has experience using the embedded code I would appreciate hearing from you.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.

Help with getting values from request. Very Strange!!

My very strange problem is the following.
I have created three dynamic list boxes. When the user select
the first list box, the second becomes populated with stuff
from a database. The third becomes populated when the second
is selected. Now, I have used hidden values in order for
me to get the selected value from the first listbox. The
following code is my first listbox:
<SELECT NAME="resources" onChange="document.hiddenform.hiddenObject.value = this.option [this.selectedIndex].value; document.hiddenform.submit();">
<OPTION VALUE =""> Resource</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE ="soil"> Soil </OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE ="water"> Water </OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE ="air"> Air </OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE ="plants"> Plants </OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE ="animals"> Animals </OPTION>
</SELECT>
I use the getRequest method to get the value of hiddenObject.
At this time I am able to get the value of hiddenObject to populate
the second list box.
But, when the user selects an item from the second list box
and the second form is also submitted,
I lose the value of hiddenObject. Why is this??
The code to populate my second listbox is the following:
<SELECT NAME ="res_categories" onChange="document.hiddenform2.hiddenObject2.value = this.options[this.selectedIndex].value; document.hiddenform2.submit(); ">
<OPTION VALUE ="" SELECTED> Category</OPTION>
Here I access a result set to populate the list box.

Form parameters are request-scoped, hence the request.getParameter("hiddenObject"); call after the submission of the second form returns a null value because the hiddenObject parameter does not exist within the second request.
A solution would be to add a hiddenObject field to your second form and alter the onChange event for res_categories to read
document.hiddenform2.hiddenObject.value=document.1stvisibleformname.resources.option[document.1stvisibleformname.resources.selectedIndex].value;
document.hiddenform2.hiddenObject2.value = this.options[this.selectedIndex].value;
document.hiddenform2.submit();You will then come across a similar problem with your third drop-down if indeed you need to resubmit the form...
A far better approach would be to create a session scoped bean, and a servlet to handle these requests. Then when the servlet is called, it would set the value of the bean property, thus making it available for this request, and all subsequent requests within the current session. This approach would eliminate the need for the clunky javascript, making your application far more stable.
