Help with frozen mail program

When I open mail, I cannot get past the spinning ball. There is one email open in the program that appears to be the culprit. Cannot delete or do anything to eliminate the spinning ball.. Have to force quit mail each time after I open it. All other apps working fine. Any suggestions ?

To reboot, did you press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignoring the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appeared, then let go of both buttons so your iPad could restart? If that's what you did and you still can't access your mailbox, I'd delete the mailbox from your iPad (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Delete Account. Then re-enter the account. It's worked for me once or twice when I had a mail issue.

Can anyone help with Yahoo mail deactivation?

Within the last 24 hours, my Yahoo plus email account was deactivated for some reason. I signed into Yahoo mail directly and got the notice. The thing is, I paid my $19.99 a few days ago and received a notice that I had done so. Based on the reasons for "deactivation, " my account should not have been deactivated. Here's some other info:
I successfully signed into my email account as recently as two days ago using Safari but I also use mail on my Mac mail program to retrieve and send messages.
Over the last several months I noticed that my contacts no longer "auto-filled" when on the Yahoo mail website (have no idea if this is related to Safari or Yahoo).
I've lost all my contacts and emails but have most of them on my Mac mail program. I'm afraid to sync anything because I don't want to lose it all!
When I reactivated my account, I changed my password because I was afraid I could have been hacked though I have no evidence of that.
I cannot reach a human at Yahoo though I've tried. I am tempted to walk into their headquarters with laptop and cell phone in hand...

I'm having the same problemwith the deactivation of my account, except it's the free mail account. At least Yahoo's stuff-ups are egalitarian!
If I lived closer to Yahoo's HQ, I'd join you on the walk. Deactivation shouldn't occur without warnings and explanations - I've received neither.
I've tried using their feedback form, asking and answering questions on Yahoo Answers and using the Yahoo Customer Care twitter feed, all to no avail.
At the very least, you should demand financial compensation as you have paid for the service. I'm probably stuck with no recourse.
Sorry I couldn't help, but hopefully you've got some extra ammo when you do finally get through to someone.

Having Problems with my mail Program

I am having Problems with my email account. I am still on OS snow Leopard and just recently ordered the Newer Mac mini with Lion.
I use to have the Mobile Me account, since I haven't switched over to iCloud yet, I still have the Mobile Me account set up in my email account and still have the Mobile Me idisk on my desktop.I also have my other local isp email account in my mail program. Just now I am getting a email problem from my other email account, I am getting my email but I get a pop up window that request my password from my other email account and at the top of the side bar where the mail icons are on the left side there is a "A" with a Circle around it next to my mail icon or sometimes a " ~ " (Tilda) next to the mail icon. I tried to contact my ISP to ask them if they were having propblems at their end but they didn't get back to me, they usually do get back to me.
Since I have the Mobile Me email account un active, am wondering if the mobile me account is effecting my other active email? am also wondering if the computer still thinks that the Mobile me email account is still active and is trying to get mail through my other active email account?
Does someone have any soloutions for me? or can someone Please help me? cause this is very fustrating cause that Password wondow keeps popping up and I can not turn it off from popping up unless I completly quit the mail program but if I restart it or reopen it up, it starts all over again.
Please someone Help me if you know what is going on here?

you might try to look for the VACUUM command (do a google search on: mail.app vacuum).
The ~/Library/Mail/Envelope Index file is a SQLite database. it does slow down as things are added and deleted. You can also find people who suggest deleting (or moving this file to the desktop or somewhere else) after quitting MAIL and then restarting MAIL... it will tell you it needs to import all your mail... it SHOULD find all the mail and rebuild the "Envelope Index" file. You can try it.

Need help with a simple program (should be simple anyway)

I'm (starting to begin) writing a nice simple program that should be easy however I'm stuck on how to make the "New" button in the file menu clear all the fields. Any help? I'll attach the code below.

Like said before, do one thing at a time. At startup, something like:

If you don't want to put the entries in an encapsulating class, you can still access this without looping:

How do I sync comcast email with the mail program on my iPhone and iMac

I have two email accounts set up on my iPhone. One is my gmail account which I use for work. The other is the comcast email, my default home email address. The comcast account doesn't sync iPhone, web mail, or the mail program on my iMac at home. My gmail account does. For instance, I send an email from my phone it shows up in the sent box when I go to the mail web page on my work and home computer. With comcast, if I send an email from my phone it stays on my phone. I have to bcc or cc to myself if I want the sent message to show up on the home computer or on the mail web page.

Unfortunately that is really the only work around since
Comcast uses POP3 and not IMAP like Gmail or
iCloud.
I had received an email quite some time ago that they
were beta testing IMAP with select customers but I doubt
if it has gone much further than that.

Help with e-mailing a form

The form needs to submit to a page that will have the email
processing code
on it. What you put there will depend on how you are sending
the mail ..
i.e. what server components are available to you on the
server such as JMail
or CFMail or PHPMail or ASPEMail .. etc. You already know
what server model
you are using and you should be able to find out what you
have to work with
on your host's web site.
If this is not already an active web site with a server
model, you can use
something like Form Mail, a CGI script that will do that job
for you ..

Help with a java program

Hello. I'm posting in these forums because I really don't know where else to go. I have been trying for the past several days to figure out how to go about writing my program but to no avail. The project requires reading many lines each containing several different elements from a datafile named "DATA". A few examples of some lines from that file:
Department number/Number of units received/Date on which the shipment arrived/Expiration date/Name of Object
0 78 02/03/2001 02/12/2001 apples
0 26 06/03/2001 06/10/2001 lemons
3 62 03/06/2001 03/14/2001 hamburger
What we have to do with this data is read all of it from the file, separate all the different elements, and based on input from the user, sort everything and print it out to the screen. If the user enters 03, the program will show everything that arrived and expired within the month of March, sorted by date.
It is a pretty basic program, but my problem is that I have no idea how to go about reading in this data, putting it into a vector (probably the easiest method) or separating the different elements. I've gone to websites and looked through my textbooks but they didn't help much. If anyone has any resources that could help for writing such a program, or if anyone could offer help in writing the program, I would really appreciate it. I can also show what I've managed to write so far, or more details on how the program should work. Thanks in advance.

and believe me thiers people here, who could write your whole app in a hour.
anyways my advice , would be to do a search on the forums for useing.bufferReader()
i think you would need to read the file in with bufferreader then split up each line useing the stringTokenizer and then use some algorithm to compare
the values and split them up into your vector arrays as needed.
thier is also fileinputStream i think you can use that too.

Need help with a rudimentary program

I'm sort of new at this so i need help with a few things... I'm making a program to compile wages and i need answers with three things: a.) what are the error messages im getting meaning? b.) How can i calculate the state tax as 2% of my gross pay with the first $200 excluded and c.) how can i calculate the local tax as a flat $10 with $2 deducted for each dependant. any help is appreciated

Help with Apple Mail

Okay, I have my Apple Mail linked to my Yahoo account, and it's been that way since April with no problems until recently.
I moved into my college dorm on Saturday, and last night I realized that I've only been getting emails on my iPhone from Yahoo. What's more is that I can not send emails from my Apple Mail. And when I sent it from the Yahoo website, it took about ten minutes for it to get to my phone, and then it finally showed up on the Yahoo website after being read on my phone.
If anyone can help me with this, I'd be extremely greatful because I appreciate the convenience of the Apple Mail. If it's any help, my Yahoo account won't even access Outlook either.
I tried deactivating it on my iPhone, but it still wasn't popping up on the Apple Mail.
Here's what the side bar looks like (pictured below), and when I click the "!," it says

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “imap.mail.yahoo.com” on port 993 timed out.
And if I take all accounts online, I get this

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post questions on this forum but I can't find anywhere to talk to helpful people about programming.
I'm making a dnd interface for JComponents. So far I've made a simple program that has a Component that can be lifted from a container and braught to the glass pane then later moved to anywhere on the screen and dropped into the container below it. Here's where my problems come:
1) Rite now my 'Movable Component' is a JPanel which is just colored in. I want to either take a Graphic2d from a JComponent/Component and draw it on the JPanel or change the JPanel to the component I want to paint and disable the component.
The problem with getting the Graphics2d is that if the component isn't on the screen it doesn't make a graphic object. I tried messing with the ui delicate and overriding parental methods for paintComponent, repaint, and that repaintChildren(forget name) but I haven't had luck getting a good graphics object. I was thinking of, at the beginning of running the program, putting 1 of each component onto the screen for a second then removing it but I'd rather not. I'd also like to change the graphics dynamicly if someone stretches the component there dropping and what not.
The problem with disabling is that it changes some of the visual features of Components. I want to be able to update the Component myself to change how it looks and I don't want disabling to gray out components.
I mainly just dont want the components to do any of there normal fuctions. This is for a page builder, by the way.
Another problem I'm having is that mouseMotionListener is allowing me to select 2 components that are on top of one another when there edges are near each other. I don't know if theres a fix to this other than changing the Java Class.
My next problem is a drop layout manager, but I'm doing pretty good with that rite now. It'll problem just move components out of the way of the falling component.
One last thing I need help with is that I don't want the object that's being carried to go across the menu bar and certain areas. When I'm having the object being carried I have it braught up to the glass pane which allows it to move anywhere. Does anyone have any idea how I could prevent the component from being over the menu bars and other objects? I might have to make 1 panel is the movable area that can then be broken down into the 'component bank', 'building page' and whatever else I'm gonna need.
This is all just test code to get together for when I make the real program but I need to make sure it'll be possible without a lot of hacking of code.

The trick to making viewable components that have no behaviour, is to render them onto an image of some sort (eg a BufferedImage). You can then display the Image on a JLabel that can be dragged around the desktop.
Here is a piece of code that does the component rendering for you. This particular example uses a fixed component size, but you can modify that as you choose of course...public class JComponentImage

Can someone help with my Mail not working with my Microsoft Exchange server?

I am trying to set up my Mail account. I am using the Microsoft Exchange server. I've been using Entourage, but wanted to switch to using the Mac's Mail. I used the same settings I had with Entourage, but with Mac Mail I'm getting this error: MFEWSErrorDomain error 56. From some of the other posts I saw, it seems as though no one has any answers, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

There is no single cause of this problem and hence no single solution. There are several suggestions in this thread, if you haven't come across it, one of which might help:

Write a program that inputs a Java source code file and outputs a copy of that file with Java keywords surrounded with HTML tags for bold type. For example this input:
