Help with invoice footer

Hello Forum,
I was looking to send an AR invoice that extends to 2 pages. Can you please advise me how I can make the footer (which includes the total values) to appear only on the last page u2013 as it does not make sense for it to be included on the first page. I am not sure what settings to change in the u2018print layout designeru2019.
Regards,
Juan

Hi,
As I can understand, these data is in a separate window name as FOOTER...
So follow the path to trigger that footer only on second page (Or end of the data that is displayed via Main window)
Doble click on window -> Conditions tab -> Check the Only After End of Main Window (At bottom)
Let me know if anything is unclear.

  • Help with CSS footer

    I am working on a site that is done with CSS. I have a couple
    of pages posted but am having a problem with the footer. I have
    made a wrapper at 100% hoping that the wrapper would always be at
    100% of the screen in height. On one page the footer is at the
    bottom, but on another page (index) the content is not all the way
    to the bottom so the footer won't go all the way to the bottom. The
    pages that I have up are located at:
    http://www.mts.net/~vmendell/
    This is the index and the second page is the Company
    Information page. Also if anyone would like to critique the pages I
    would gladly accept any and all criticism. One thing, the Flash
    animation is just a place holder, the real animation is being
    worked on at the moment.
    Thank you all in advance for taking the time to look at my
    pages and giving any help.
    Thank You

    At the first closing div above, your outerwrapper closes.
    Then comes the Bear and finally an extraneous closing div .

  • Help with invoices

    Greetings!
    I'm having an issue with sending invoices to a few address on paypal.I click on "make invoice" and send them but some clients are saying that they can't pay because they can't go past the address screen.
    Thing is, when I create the invoices I do not request for shipping or mark any shipping options (my products are digital). I just create, fill the terms of service and hit send.
    For short here's what one of these clients says:
    "The only question about the invoice, is how I can select no address needed? It only gives me the option of adding an address. That's the only problem right now"  The person can't go past this and pay, because he can't mark "no address needed". And I don't request address. Do you guys have any idea of what is going wrong?
    Would this be a problem because the client may have their paypal account not updated with bank or credit card?
    Please any help is grealty welcome! ps: Sorry for any english mistakes, I'm not a native nglish speaker.
    Thank you!

     I'm not seeing any way for the buyer to avoid entering his address.  If he really doesn't want it included, he could add the address of a well known location to his PayPal profile... a local library, school, etc. Another option... just have the buyer initiate payment using the "Pay for goods and services" tab. -Sandy

  • Help with invoicing and free of cost order

    here's the scenario: i took the pricing procedure of my standard order and basically changed PROO from R to S for statistical. rest is the same. gave the new pricing procedure a name starting with Z, then created a document procedure, then created a new order type for free goods sale and assigned everything the way it should be. i still need the taxes because customer will be billed for taxes, just not the base price. everything works fine till i get to billing and try releasing that to accounting, i get this error: Tax code O1 does not appear in any G/L account item. the FICO teams tells me it's because i put PROO as statistical and the system doesn't know where to get the tax from for the invoice. my pricing procedure is as follows:
    10 0 PR00 Bag Price X 2 ERL
    20 0 ZSED Special Excise Duty 10 10 X 10 ZSD
    30 0 ZMWS Sales Tax 10 10 X 10 MWS
    40 0 Net Value 20 30 X
    45 0 BO02 Material Rebate 40 X ERB ERU
    50 0 Discount 45
    60 0 ZPFR Freight X
    980 0 WGST WHT GST 1% 10 164
    985 0 WCOD WHT 3.5% 65 164
    990 0 A
    any suggestions on what to do and what might be wrong? thanks!

    Hi
    As far as your requirement is concerned , everything is correct , but just check in VK12 wheather  the tax code O1 has been assigned to the tax condition types. or not. Also check the G/L accounts assigned to the tax condition types. are properly maintained or not. So kindly ask your FICO consultants to check the following data
    Revert back with  the updated  data ,  wheather everything is going correctly or still facing problems

  • Need help with margins & footer, and browser display issues....

    Hello,
    I am working on a splash page in Dreamweaver, but am having trouble with the margins and the footer.
    1. Margins: I basically want/need the center contents of the page never to extend past the contents of the header and footer.
    If you look at the page header, the logo on the top left and "Student and Faculty Portal" should be the margins. Seems to look fine on some users' systems, but not consistent across our department.
    2. Footer:  I can't seem to figure out how to keep the footer at the bottom without rising above the background image across all browsers & screen sizes.  Looks fine on some, but too high or low on others. (Looks the worst when the background image shows underneath the footer).
    3. Browser/Screen Size:  Depending on which PC I am using, my page changes.  At the office, on my 26" monitors, my page looks fine, however, when on different laptops, my right div (that contains the login table) goes under the left.  How can I code my page so that it looks consistent on all?
    I guess my main complaint/need is for my page to look consistent regardless of screen size, browser or system.
    If you could take a look, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Your expertise and time is greatly appreciated.  I hope I was clear enough, but please let me know if there is any confusion.

    Kind regards,
    JK

    1.  Create a div around your content, give it a width and margin: 0 auto;
    2.  Follow this tutorial.  It will be a lifesaver and it sounds like what you are trying to do: http://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/sticky-footer/
    3.  See #1.  In addition, remove right-margin from login box, add float: right; and remove float: left; from main content.

  • Help with invoice

    Hi experts,
    I am working on outbound invoice (810). I see some of the partner functions and related details are not maintained on generated outbound idocs on E1EDKA1 segments. So, I want to write a custom coding and should be able to add any number of E1EDKA1 segments (ofcourse, it will not exceed maximum 10 i guess) and populate them. Could you please tell me the include or place where I should be able to add E1EDKA1 segments to the idoc data internal table ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Krishen,
    You can use enhancement LVEDF001 (transaction SMOD) for this requirement.

  • Help Please With Header/Footer Includes

    Can someone please help with an easy to follow answer?
    I am building a site and want to use the header and footer as include files to make maintenance of the links easier. In the header, the navigation is rollover graphics. (I mention this because there is an issue with the image paths.) I have been able to get the includes showing up and working, but my problem is that I wish to use subfolders and it's here I'm going round in circles. The graphic navigation is visible at the root level only.
    My site structure goes like this:
    Root has index.php and a couple of other pages, plus the following directories, css, images, includes (containing my header.php and footer.php), subfolder1 (containing index.php) and subfolder2 (containing index.php).
    The navigation works on the root level but not at the sub-level. I have tried using both document and site relative links, ../ as well as / and./ paths but I can't figure this out.
    My navigation is HOME | SUBFOLDER1 | SUBFOLDER2 | CONTACT | LINKS. Hope this is clear.

    Server side includes are great for doing what your doing.
    Sounds to me like you understand the different types of URLs you can use but you will need "site root relative" urls in your links in your include file.  You will also need to think about the path in your include but I imagine you know that.
    If you have a link in your navigation and it links to a page in a folder then your link must include the full path e.g.
    <li><a href="/pages/cv.php" title="Curriculum Vitae">CV</a></li>
    If your included file is in a folder and not the root you will need to declare its path
    <?php
    include 'pages/menu.php';
    ?>
    If you want a tutorial on this try:

    I'm not sure what else to suggest really except that you add a bit of the code from your file and include file?

  • Help with complex Acrobat forms

    Hi Everyone,
    Background: I worked with another developer and completed a form for one of our clients but I need to know if the below change requests are even possible and if so if anyone would like to help with finishing the form. I am definitely willing to pay for an experts services as long as this can be done in a timely manner.
    What the form is - Our client wants a form that has text fields, drop down boxes and pages where images can be placed into the file and arrows drawn on it to point where the images are located on other images (some images are store layout maps). They would like to send this file out to their store managers, have them fill it in and then they would like the completed forms sent back so all of the information that was filled in (names, store names, addresses, square footage, etc) can be gathered into a database or excel file.
    What is completed so far
    - Cascading drop down boxes (user clicks on first drop down and whatever is selected changes the second drop down options, etc)
    - Most of the text fields for information gathering including city, state, store manager etc
    - Metric unit conversion boxes
    - Header text fields (read only) are used on several of the pages and are a combination of choices made in the drop down boxes and text fields.
    - Page footer info including page number
    - The over all layout of the pages is set
    Requested changes/additions
    Major must have:
    - Page Addition - There is a product page in the form (page 10) and the different stores will have a different number of these products to enter into the form so is there a way to add an ADD PAGE button on the page that when pressed will copy the product page to make a new product page? Now the product page has cascading drop down form fields on it so I would want to make sure the form fields are separate iterations of the form fields not just a duplicate of what was on the product page.
    - Footer adjustments - If we can do the above of adding pages then is it possible to at that point adjust the footer to reflect the page number changes? The footer shows the current page number then the form name and date.
    - Gather info - What is the best way to distribute these forms so that when returned completed the information can be gathered? I tried distributing via email which seems to work ok but the files might end up being too large for email so what is the best way to gather the completed info if say the files were ftp'd back?
    Minor:
    There are several minor change requests that I know are doable or that if not possible we can disregard. One that I am not sure about is if the color of the arrows in Acrobat can be changed from the default red?
    At first I was assuming that the Clients that get the forms needed Acrobat Standard or Pro 8 or 9 because I thought that the only way to add images was to use the Touch-Up Tool under advanced tools and right click to Place images. However I am pretty sure that if Reader Rights is enabled that images can be copy pasted into the file too if this is incorrect please let me know.
    If the above is not doable or if there is a better solution other than Acrobat forms to gather client information including allow the client to add images and place arrows then please let me know your thoughts.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and again id like to commission this out to anyone who is up for the challenge.
    Thanks in advance
    Jason

    Perhaps a better question is does anyone know a good developer?

  • The best way to get help with logic

    I was posting in a thread on support for logic which appears to have been deleted. anyway, what I was going to say I think is useful info for people, so I'm going to post it anyway. to the mods - it doesn't contain any speculation about policies or anything like that. just an explanation of my views on the best way to deal with issues people have with logic, which I think is a valuable contribution to this forum.
    I think there's a need for perspective. when you buy an apple product you get 90 days of free phone support to get everything working nice and neat. you can call them whenever, and you could actually keep them on the phone all day if you wanted, making them explain to you how to copy a file, install microsoft office, or any number of little questions no matter how simple - what is that red button thingy in my window for?.. on top of that, you've got a 14 day dead on arrival period (or 10 days I can't remember) in which if your machine has any kind of hardware fault whatsoever it's exchanged for a totally new one, no questions asked. a lot of people complain that applecare is overpriced.. and if you think of it just as an extended warranty, then it is a little pricey. but if you are someone that could use a lot of phone support, then it's actually potentially a total bargain. the fact that 2 or more years after you bought a computer, you could still be calling them every single day, asking for any kind of advice on how to use anything on the machine, is quite something. many people on this forum have had problems when they made the mistake of upgrading to 10.4.9 without first creating a system clone or checking first with their 3rd party plug in vendors to make sure it was ok. so, with apple care, you could call them and keep a technician on the phone _all day_ talking you through step-by-step how to back up all of your user data, how to go through and preserve your preferences and any other specific settings you might not want to lose, and then how to rollback to an earlier OS version.. they'll hold your hand through the whole thing if you need them to.
    as for applecare support for pro apps like logic, I'd be the first person to agree that it's not great for anyone except beginners and first time users. if you look at what it takes to get even the highest level of logic certification, it's all pretty basic stuff. and logic doesn't exist in a vacuum, there is an entire universe of 3rd party software and hardware, as well as studio culture and advanced user techniques that are going to be totally invisible to some poor phone support guy at apple that did a logic 101. but it's not hard to see that apple are trying to promote a different kind of support culture, it's up to you to decide whether you want to buy into it or not.
    the idea is that they are able to provide basic setup support for new users, including troubleshooting. because it's a simpler level of support, at least they can do this well. so there's no reason why any new user with say a new imac and logic can't get up and running with the 90 days of phone support they get for free.
    but the thing is, for extremely high end pro users it's a different matter altogether. pro use of logic within the context of say, a studio or a film composition scenario is a very different world. it's almost a nonsense to imagine that apple could even hire people capable of giving useful support for this end of the spectrum, over the phone. there are so many variables, and so many things that require a very experienced studio person or in-work composer to even begin to understand the setup, let alone troubleshoot it. and it's a constantly evolving world, you actually have to be working in it and aware of developments on 3rd party fronts as well as changes in hardware.. not to mention even changes in the culture of studio production and the changed expectations that come from that. there's no way some poor little guy sitting at a help desk at apple can even hope to be privy to that kind of knowledge. it's already good enough that they don't outsource their support staff to india, let alone go out to studios and hire the very people with the skills that should be staying in the studio! not answering phones for apple.
    so, given this reality.. companies have two choices. they can either offer an email based support ticket system, which others do. but in my opinion.. this can just be frustrating and only a half-solution. sure you 'feel' like you are getting a response from the people that make the software and therefore must know it.. but it's not really the case due to what I said above. DAWs don't exist in a vacuum, and so much of what you need to understand to help people requires an intimate knowledge of the music industry in which they are working. you still won't get that from steinberg, even if they sort of answer your emails. the other problem is that this kind of system can mean sporadic answers, a lot of tail-chasing, and quite often you won't get an answer that helps you in the end anyway.
    the other model is to foster a strong user support culture. some people react in the wrong way to this idea.. they just think it's a big brush off from the manufacturer, saying we don't care, go sort it out yourselves.. but this isn't true. apple has a classification for pro resellers called 'apple solutions expert - audio'. what this means is that these dealers are recognised as audio specialists and they can receive extra support and training from apple for this. but more importantly than this.. most of them are music stores, or pro gear dealerships that are also mac and logic dealers. they already employ people that have worked or do work in the music industry, and are constantly on top of all of this stuff. apple encourages these dealers to run workshops, and to provide expert sales advice in the very niche area that logic is in, which they can do far better than some generic apple store ever could. but most importantly, they are encouraged to offer their own expert after-sales support and whatever other value-adding expertise they can, to get sales. because margins in computer gear are so tight nowadays, discounting is not really a viable option for these dealers to guarantee getting musicians to buy computers and logic setups from them. the only companies that can entice people with a lower price a big online wholesalers or big chain stores. so the best idea for these niche expert stores to get sales is to offer you their own experts to help with configuration, ongoing support and to generally make it a better idea that you bought your system from them rather than from some anonymous online store. I can see the wisdom of this.. it puts the support back out there on the ground where it's needed, and also where it can work best. apple could never hope to offer the same level of expertise in helping a film composer work through some issues with a specific interface or some highly specific issue they have with getting a task done. no big software manufacturer could do this anywhere near as well as people out there that have worked in studios or currently do work in studios. so in my opinion it's a far better model to foster this kind of support culture, along with training courses, books and training video support. also user forums like this one are possibly one of the most valuable ports of call anyone could ask for. apple couldn't replicate this with their own staff, even if they tried. and even if they made a system where some of the people close to logic development were able to answer emails, it would still be nowhere near as useful, as rapid or as capable of being up to speed with logic use out in the real world with 3rd pary gear, as any of these other methods are.
    the only thing I think they could do better would be to publish a list of known bugs which are officially recognised. this would help everyone and put an end to a lot of wasted time and speculation on if something is a bug totally to do with logic, or if it's a specific issue raised by a particular configuration.
    but really, in my view, a 3rd party support and training culture through a combination of specialist dealers, consultants that literally run a business setting up computers for pro-users and helping them keep it all working, online user-to-user forums and published materials really are the way forward.

    In all honesty this is currently the 3rd "logicboard" (motherboard)
    in my powerbook due to a design flaw regarding the 2nd memory slot....
    Yep. Mine failed five weeks after I bought it. However, I bought it for work and couldn't afford being without it for four weeks while they fixed it, so I had to live with it. My serial number did not entitle me to a replacement either, post Applecare.
    My firewire ports have burnt out from a third-party defective device (no hot-plugging involved)
    My screen is blotchy (my PW serial number did not entitle me to a replacement).
    My battery serial number did not entitle me to a replacement, and is not that good these days.
    My guaranteed Powerbook-compatible RAM is actually not, causing RAM related problems, most notably these days meaning that as soon as I switch to battery power, the laptop crashes, so I can only use mains power. The company I bought it from stopped taking my calls and wouldn't replace it after they replaced it once, so I'm stuck with it. And of course, only one ram slot is working, so I can't even use my original stick in the first slot, which would shift the dodgy stuff away from the lower system area.
    My power supply failed at the weak spot and caught fire. I managed to break apart the power supply and recable it so I didn't have to buy a new power supply, although the connection at the laptop end is loose (all the more fun that as soon as power is lost, the laptop crashes - see above). The power supply is held together with gaffa tape. Silver gaffer tape though, so it's still kind of 'Appley"...
    My internal hard drive is dying - four or five times now it clicks and won't power up, causing the laptop to die.
    One foot has fallen off (but glued back on).
    The lid is warped.
    The hinge is loosish.
    The S-Video adaptor cable is intermittent.
    But aside from all that, I have looked after it well, and I love it to death. Just as well, because it doesn't look like it will be that long...
    But it still "just works". Apart from the battery power obviously. And the ram slot. And the ram. And the screen. And the hard drive. And the firewire ports. And the feet.
    But everything apart from the main board, the screen, the case, the hard drive and the power supply works fine. So thats... er..
    Hmm.

  • Help with triggers

    Hi All,
    i have a few triggers that I need your help with.
    The first trigger (below) is fired when an update is made to a column in an invoices table.
    The question I have is to do with the exception section.
    I want to change the status of the invoice if it fails to F.
    This trigger has already complied fine but I have no test data yet to test against.
    I was unsure of the mutating effect and was wondering if the exception section will cause it to mutate since it is trying to update the status of the current invoice being processed. Pls see below
    create or replace
    TRIGGER POP_STAGE AFTER
    UPDATE OF "EXCHANGED_DATE" ON "INVOICES" FOR EACH ROW
    declare
    -- check if the invoice.mco_transfer_status has been updated to R
    -- if it has then insert records into the relevant tables
    -- Start the Insert based on the update of invoices.mco_transfer_status
    ecode varchar2(100);
    thisproc CONSTANT VARCHAR2(80) := 'trap_errmesg for transfer_status';
    v_value varchar2(150);
    BEGIN
    -- do updates based on update of invoices.transfer_status column
    IF :NEW.TRANSFER_STATUS='R'
    THEN
    -- Insert into E_TICKET_STAGE
    INSERT INTO E_TICKET_STAGE (emco_document_number,exchanged_date,pax_seq,pax_forename,pax_surname,pax_type)
    select :NEW.EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER, :NEW.EXCHANGED_DATE,PX.PAX_SEQ,PX.FORENAME,PX.SURNAME,PX.PAX_TYPE
    FROM PAX PX WHERE PX.BOOKING_ID=:NEW.BOOKING_ID;
    -- Insert into SECTOR_STAGE table
    INSERT INTO SECTOR_STAGE (emco_document_number,ps_id,sector_seq,pax_seq,fare_class,fare_basis,net_fare,tax,gross_fare,

    SELECT :NEW.EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER, PS.PS_ID,PS.SECTOR_SEQ,PS.PAX_SEQ,PS.FARE_CLASS,PS.FARE_BASIS,PS.NET_FARE,PS.TAX,PS.GROSS_FARE,BS.FLIGHT_NUMBER,BS.DEPARTURE_DATE,

    -- Insert into TAX_STAGE table
    INSERT INTO TAX_STAGE (emco_docUment_number,PS_ID,TAX_SEQ,TAX_CODE,VALUE)
    SELECT :NEW.EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER, pt.PS_ID,TAX_SEQ,TAX_CODE,VALUE

    WHERE ps.BOOKING_ID=:OLD.booking_id and pt.PS_ID=ps.PS_ID;
    -- Insert into CHARGES_STAGE table
    insert into CHARGES_STAGE (emco_document_number,CHARGE_TYPE,CHARGE_AMOUNT)
    select :NEW.EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER, CHARGE_TYPE,VALUE FROM INVOICE_DETAILS IND
    WHERE :NEW.INVOICE_ID=IND.INVOICE_ID;
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    ecode := SQLCODE|| ' '||sqlerrm ;
    dbms_output.put_line(thisproc || ' - ' || ecode);
    v_value := thisproc || ' - ' || ecode;
    -- Insert into DOCUMENT_STATUS_STAGE ANY ERRORS DURING PROCESSING
         insert into DOCUMENT_STATUS_STAGE (EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER, STATUS,STATUS_DATE)
    VALUES (:NEW.EMCO_DOCUMENT_NUMBER,v_value,sysdate);
    update invoices set TRANSFER_STATUS='F' where invoice_id=:old.invoice_id;
    END pop_stage;
    The second trigger (also below) does a check on the payments table to see if the payment_complete date has been set.
    If this has been set then we want to sum all the payments (based on invoice_id). once this sum has been made we want to compare this value to the value of the gross amount on the invoices table for that invoice. if they match (which shows the invoce has been fully paid) then we want to update the paid_date and set to sysdate.
    create or replace
    TRIGGER CHECK_INVOICE_STATUS AFTER
    UPDATE OF "PAYMENT_COMPLETE" ON "PAYMENTS" FOR EACH ROW
    declare
    -- check if all the payments for that invoice have been received (completed)
    -- if they are complete then sum all the payments for that invoice and compare to gross value on invoices
    v_invoice_amount number;
    v_gross_amount number;
    thisproc CONSTANT VARCHAR2(80) := 'trap_errmesg for mco_transfer_status';
    v_value varchar2(150);
    BEGIN
    IF :NEW.PAYMENT_COMPLETE is not null
    THEN
    -- We will sum all the payments for that invoice that have a value in payment_complete
    select sum(amount) into v_invoice_amount from payments where payment_complete is not null
    group by :OLD.INVOICE_ID;
    -- We will also get the gross amount for the invoice to compare to the sum of the payments
    select gross into v_gross_amount from invoices where
    :OLD.INVOICE_ID = invoice_id;
    END IF;
    IF v_invoice_amount = v_gross_amount
    then
    update invoices set paid_date=sysdate;
    end if;
    end CHECK_INVOICE_STATUS;
    Is this trigger sufficent?
    Any tips will be appreciate.
    Thanks

    I didn't really look into your post (rather long) ... anyway, I have 2 words for you "stored procedures".

  • Dunning letter via email with invoice attachments

    Hi Experts,
    We have requirement where in dunning letter should be send to customer via email along with invoice attachments.
    We have copied standard script F150_DUNN_02 to custom one as per requirements and configured it in SPRO. We are using BTE 1040 to fetch the customer email address and assign it to structure c_finaa-intad.
    This serves the purpose partially. The email goes to customer with dunning letter as an attachment properly.
    The question here is how to send additional invoice attachments in the same mail? For example, if dunning letter contains 3 line items, then email should have 4 attachments( 1 dunning letter and 3 invoices).
    Is it possible by some config steps? or please suggest me suitable approach to solve the problem.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Swati

    Hi Partha,
    Here are the steps that you can follow :
    1. Using following SPRO path assign the dunning form.
    Financial Accounting (New) > Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable > Business Transactions > Dunning > Printout > Assign Dunning Forms
    2. There is standard BTE (00001040) that is provided by SAP which is called when dunning is run. SAP has also provided sample function module SAMPLE_PROCESS_00001040 to indicate how to use the BTE. The FM imports I_KNA1 strutcure and pass back structure C_FINAA.
    3. Copy the standard FM to custom Z-FM and using I_KNA1-ADRNR fetch customer email address. If email is maintained, set c_finaa-nacha = 'I' and c_finaa-intad - <email>.
    4. You can also set the title of PDF file in email by setting c_itcpo-tdtitle as per requirement.
    5. Goto transaction FIBF. Settings-> Process Modules-> of SAP Application
    6. Add new entry with Process 00001040, application FI-FI and function module as custom FM created in step 3.
    Above steps are enough if you want to send dunning email to customer. If there is a need to send invoices as an attachments along with email then there is a need to enhance the standard FM PRINT_DUNNING_NOTICE. I used following approach to achieve the purpose.
    a. I created another custom FM to send invoices which I am calling from PRINT_DUNNING_NOTICE. For this, I am using implicit enhancement option to modify standard code. With this option, I am able to send 2 emails back-to-back one with dunning letter and other containing all invoice attachments with respect to dunning letter.
    Let me know, if you need further guidance.

  • Need help with overlapping divs!

    Hey everyone,
    I'm working on another website and I have come up against a common problem for newbie designers from what I hear, the dreaded overlapping div problem!  I have a 2 column fixed layout with a floating left div.  My left div has my nav bar and various images.  When my main content div has more content than the left floating div, the left div border does not reach the footer!  Until now, I have gotten by with just hitting return in my left column div until it reaches the footer.  I am sure it is not the right way to do it but it has worked so far.  The problem is, now one of the pages has the left column div overlapping onto the footer!  I did some reading and I am guessing it involves either the box properties or clear float which I am not too familiar with.
    Any advice would be stellar!  I know this is just another stumbling block to get over but I would feel so much better if I was doing it the right way.
    Here are screens of my issue,
    And here is my code for the page in question.

        <div id="paragraphFloat">
          <h5>What Is Radon?</h5>
          <p> Radon is a cancer causing radioactive gas. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. </p>
          <div id="apDiv1">
        <div align="center"><a href="http://www.epa.gov/radon/video/epa-epu.wmv"><img src="_images/psa_revised.jpg" alt="What Is Radon?" width="200" height="172" border="0" /></a></div></div></div>
        <p>If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, you're at high risk for developing lung cancer. Some scientific studies of radon exposure indicate that children may be more sensitive to radon. This may be due to their higher respiration rate and their rapidly dividing cells, which may be more vulnerable to radiation damage. </p>
    <p> </p>
        <h5>Why Is It Dangerous?</h5>
    <p> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) and the Surgeon General's Office have estimated that as many as 20,000 lung cancer deaths are caused each year by radon. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon-induced lung cancer costs the United States over $2 billion dollars per year in both direct and indirect health care costs.</p>
    <p>According to the US EPA, nearly 1 in 3 homes checked in seven states and on three Indian lands had screening levels over 4 pCi/L, the EPA's recommended action level for radon exposure.</p>
    <p>The alpha radiation emitted by radon is the same alpha radiation emitted by other alpha generating radiation sources such as plutonium.</p>
    <p>A family whose home has radon levels of 4 pCi/l is exposed to approximately 35 times as much radiation as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission would allow if that family was standing next to the fence of a radioactive waste site. (25 mrem limit, 800 mrem exposure)</p>
    <p> At the 4 pCi/l EPA action guideline level, radon carries approximately 1000 times the risk of death as any other EPA carcinogen. It is important to note that the action level is not a safe level, as there are no &quot;safe&quot; levels of radon gas.</p>
    <p> </p>
    <h5>How Does It Get Into My Home?</h5>
    <p> Radon is a radioactive gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.</p>
    <p> Radon from soil gas is the main cause of radon problems. Sometimes radon enters the home through well water. In a small number of homes, the building materials can give off radon, too. However, building materials rarely cause radon problems by themselves.</p>

    <h5>What Can I Do?</h5>
    <p> Radon is a national environmental health problem. Elevated radon levels have been discovered in every state. The US EPA estimates that as many as 8 million homes throughout the country have elevated levels of radon. Current state surveys show that 1 home in 5 has elevated radon levels.</p>
    <p> Testing is the only way to know your home's radon levels. There are no immediate symptoms that will alert you to the presence of radon. It typically takes years of exposure before any problems surface. </p>

    <h5>Radon Myths</h5>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Scientists are not sure that radon really is a problem.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Although some scientists dispute the precise number of deaths due to radon, all the major health organizations (like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Lung Association and the American Medical Association) agree with estimates that radon causes thousands of preventable lung cancer deaths every year. This is especially true among smokers, since the risk to smokers is much greater than to non-smokers.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon testing is difficult, time-consuming and expensive.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Radon testing is easy. You can test your home yourself or hire a qualified radon test company. Either approach takes only a small amount of time and effort.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Homes with radon problems can't be fixed.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> There are simple solutions to radon problems in homes. Hundreds of thousands of homeowners have already fixed radon problems in their homes. Most homes can be fixed for about the same cost as other common home repairs; check with one or more qualified mitigators. Call your <a href="http://www.epa.gov/radon/whereyoulive.html">state radon office</a> for help in identifying qualified mitigation contractors.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon affects only certain kinds of homes.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT: </em></strong>House construction can affect radon levels. However, radon can be a problem in homes of all types: old homes, new homes, drafty homes, insulated homes, homes with basements, and homes without basements. Local geology, construction materials, and how the home was built are among the factors that can affect radon levels in homes.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Radon is only a problem in certain parts of the country.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> High radon levels have been found in every state. Radon problems do vary from area to area, but the only way to know your radon level is to test.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> A neighbor's test result is a good indication of whether your home has a problem.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> It's not. Radon levels can vary greatly from home to home. The only way to know if your home has a radon problem is to test it.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Everyone should test their water for radon.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Although radon gets into some homes through water, it is important to first test the air in the home for radon. If your water comes from a public water supply that uses ground water, call your water supplier. If high radon levels are found and the home has a private well, call the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791 for information on testing your water.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> It's difficult to sell homes where radon problems have been discovered.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em></strong> Where radon problems have been fixed, home sales have not been blocked or frustrated. The added protection is some times a good selling point.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> I've lived in my home for so long, it doesn't make sense to take action now.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT: </em></strong>You will reduce your risk of lung cancer when you reduce radon levels, even if you've lived with a radon problem for a long time.</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p><strong><em>MYTH:</em> Short-term tests can't be used for making a decision about whether to fix your home.</strong></p>
    <blockquote>
      <p><strong><em>FACT:</em> </strong>A short-term test, followed by a second short-term test* can be used to decide whether to fix your home. However, the closer the average of your two short-term tests is to 4 pCi/L, the less certain you can be about whether your year-round average is above or below that level. Keep in mind that radon levels below 4 pCi/L still pose some risk. Radon levels can be reduced in most homes to 2 pCi/L or below.</p>

    Please if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong please please let me know!  Since I am learning, I really want to get main concepts like this down so I am not constantly doing things the hard way!  Thank you!

    1) Regarding validation, what does it do?
    It validates by telling you where your code isn't er... valid.  Sometimes the results are a bit jumbled but if you work through them one at a time and revalidate, it's a good way to learn.  If you fix all of the errors shown up through the validator you should end up with standards compliant code.  Not necessarily the best, most efficient code you can write but at least it will be valid and it helps you spot errors that hours of code-staring never seems to find.
    I don't use the DW validation tool because I find the W3c one easier.
    The W3c validator has a check box of HTML Tidy which can tidy up your code but it's not always as easy to see what changes.
    2) I know the <p> tag for spacing is wrong, I could just feel it in my bones.  I just didn't know what else to do.  If I <br> all the way down won't the code be just as cluttered?
    You're obviously a born web coder!
    <br> will bloat your page if you use them to position elements.
    Here you need to get used to a) the Block Model and b) CSS positioning.  Once you crack these, CSS opens up for you and becomes a little more intuitive.
    if you have two elements on top of each other rather than push them apart with other elements you do it with padding and/or margin.  There are things to watch out for here namely, collapsing margins but if you start to read up on the above, you'll get it.
    I just thought of something.  If I add a div in main content, align it to the bottom center with CSS, use a line break between it and the text above, and add the image in question in the new div, will the spacing between the text and image work itself out?  I just really want to get out of the <p> bad habit.
    Keep thinking!  Web design is not like desktop publishing or print.  Elements on a HTML page don't behave like paragraphs on a page.  Once you begin to figure out why not it all gets a little easier.
    If you want an image at the bottom an element you put that at the end of the content in that element.  Then you need to ensure there is no margin, padding or border between the img element and the next element (your footer).  HTML elements come with some styling that is applied by default in the browser.  Many web developers include a rule like this:
    body {
    margin: 0;
    padding:0;
    This sets the margin and padding to zero of course and it's purpose is to override the defaults.  Some people advocate applying similar rules to all elements and if your interested try googling Eric Meyer who has written about it online.
    One of the key purposes of CSS is to take styling out of the page.  It's leaner, more efficient for the viewer and the coder and helps with site management.
    3) AP divs are weird, and I did only use as a last resort.
    See? You're a natural!
    The reason is I am confused by the float and clear float classes.  My left column is floated left and that element is what I was having problems understanding.  I tried to make new divs and float right but I screwed it all up.  I am sure I am just not applying the clear float in the right places.
    Getting the hang of floating is key to CSS positioning.  You use a float if you want two elements to sit side by side on the page.  It disrupts the "document flow."  Ordinarily HTML elements are rendered one after the other, on top of each other.  Floating an element takes it out of the document flow and allows other elements to occupy its space.  When you float an element it should always have a width.  If the element below it also has a width, that width has to be sufficiently narrow to allow it to occupy the space.  In short, floated elements can't be wider than their containing element.
    The clear property is used after a float to stop an element occupying the space left by a floated element.  It works but confuses the heck out of me!
    So that leads me to my final point.  I am a novice too!  I might have fluffed a few of the technical points above but it's pretty much there.

  • Why need to link credit memo with invoice

    Hi, gurus,
    I received an AP invoice valued $2222 and then received a credit memo valued $222 about 1 week later.
    Now I need to make payment.
    I was told it's good to link credit memo with invoice by entering invoice number in the field "invoice reference" when creating credit memo. But I'm not sure why it's better because system will pick up both items anyway when i entered $ 2000 using f-53 to make outgoing payment.
    The only reason i can think of is this link will guarantee that credit memo has the same terms of payment with invoice.
    Is there any other good reasons? Any help will be appreciated.

    Dear,
    We need to link credit memo with invoice against for two obvious reasons
    1.. Future tracking of all credit memo i-e if we gave excess credits to vendor then it was against which invoice. This will create linkage and tracking of credit memo with invoice that will be shown in FBL1N .
    2..At the end of specific time period ,month or quarter ,its a normal practise to reconcile vendor balance as per SAP ledger to that of vendor's own book. At that time you will need credit memo track also that against which invoice was the credit given.
    This all can be achived after posting credit memo with refrence to invoice number. Audit perpective should also be kept in mind. Hope this will help you

  • Down payment not cleared with invoice trans f-54

    Hi All,
    I need help with down payment clearing with invoice. Purpose is to have open residual item for not paid invoice part.
    I made such steps:
    1. Vendor down payment request, trans F-47, (for instance) 90Eur
    2. Make down payment, trans F110, 90Eur
    3. Vendor invoice receipt, trans. FB60, 115Eur
    4. Clear down payment, trans. F-54.
    The problem is that clearing document is created, but actually down payment for 90Eur and invoice for 115Eur are not cleared, and residual item for 25Eur is not created. Using payment program (F110) again system suggest to pay whole invoice sum - 115Eur - that is quite dangerous.
    I will be very thankful for your help.

    Hi,
    Have you cleared down payment against the invoice no. in F-54 ?
    If you do so, there will be a link between  the invoice & down payment document no. During F110, system will select both the documents together.
    Also check in T code FB00 (Editing options) under "Open Items" tab, whether "include invoice reference" check box is selected.
    If not, then select this check box & try the transaction once again.
    Hope this helps you.

  • ISSUE: TDS REVERSAL DURING ADVANCE CLEARING WITH INVOICE

    Dear All
      I am having problem related to TDS reversal.
    For e.g
    Advance payment to Vendor: rs 10000/
    Tds deducted is rs 200/
    Now Invoice posted for amount is: 100000/
    Tds deductes is rs 1000/
    We know that TDS on rs 10000 is deducted twice which is generally reversed during advance clearing with invoice through F-54. But when I am clearing Ad. with Invoice, no TDS is getting reversed.
    Please help me on this issue or is there any other way of doing this process.
    points will be awarded
