New Be taking a course in Dream Weaver using cs6 version. In regards to any help having two questions please. After saving a project. Is there a way I can copy the project over again to have as a second copy for any further purposes. Where my projects are stored under C Drive-- Users --- Jon----A folder I call Dream Weaver and another folder under that Home Work.
The other question. Is there a way I can delete a project in recent items under Dream Weaver Sart page. I've already deleted some work going to Site on the application bar to open the Manage Site dialog box and deleted there. Though I can't open up any projects under recent items the files are there in the start up page. I would just like to delete them. If anyone can help all of my work is in classic view. Thank you kindly Jon.

I think that in order to get rid of the Recent Items on the Dreamweaver Splash Screen, you would have to empty its cache of what was last opened. Depending on what's stored in the cache, that could be dangerous. I recommend you ignore it.
Besides, the "Open Recent" stuff changes in accordance with what you last opened. If you start working on a new website, that stuff will show up there.
And, if you have undefined a site and deleted the stuff in the site, you have cleared it off your hard drive.
As to copying stuff for later use, you can keep a second copy of your website anywhere you like and define that folder as a website by picking Site>New Site name the site and navigate to the local root folder for that site.

I am writing a UI to configure a network device that will be connected to the serial port of the computer while it is being configured. There is no web server or database for my application. The UI has a large number of fields (50+) spread across 16 tabs. I will write the UI in Java FX. It should run inside the browser when launched, and issue commands to the network device through the serial port. A UI has several input fields spread across tabs and one single Submit button. If a field is edited, and the submit button clicked, it issues a command and sends the new datum to the device, retrieves current value and any errors. so if input field has bad data, it is indicated for example, the field has a red border.
Is there a standard design pattern or Java utility class to accomplish the frequently encountered, 'generic' parts of this scenario? lazy loading, submitting only what fields changed, displaying what fields have errors etc. (I dont want to reinvent the wheel if it is already there). Otherwise I can write such a class and share it back here if it is useful.

ArrayList as an attribute to the session.I am making the use of Vector and did the same thing as u mentioned.I am using scriplets...

Need help with color management

I am looking for someone to help me. Please!
I am looking for help with Photoshop/printer not printing correct colors.
I have: Windows 7, Photoshop CS5, Photoshop Elements, HP Pavillion Laptop, new Okidata C530dn color laser printer
Previously I had a Canon Pixma MP620 and a gentleman from another forum gave me the correct settings for printing on photo paper and colors were perfect. I now have a OKIdata C530dn color laser and have started a business printing business cards and greeting cards, etc., and I do advertisements on a freelance basis.
I will be working a lot with cardstock or cover stock 65-110 lbs paper. I have an old OKIdata 2024e at work, and the colors are much better with that printer than my new personal one. I have tried matching the settings of that printer to mine to no avail. I have finally gotten the color close, but not quite. When I print on my Canon injet the colors match and print perfectly.
I have tried every setting variation that I can think of to get the color correct with my new OKIdata. I have to get the colors correct or my new business will go under because I can't match colors for my customers. I am a self taught Photoshoper and a novice so please bear with me.
Using Okidata PCL. Also have PS

I have gotten the color close, but colors are dull. I have tried an adjustment layer and setting the saturation higher, but that doesn't help. I know my laptop is showing the right colors, (calibrated) because I am still printing to the Canon with cardstock and the colors are perfect using the same settings above.
Tried printing in PSE and it gave me an error that it was not a post script printer. Installed ps driver, still getting errors and it wouldn't print.
I would appreciate any help you could give me before I run out of toner and have to buy the expensive toners, or just slit my wrists j/k LOL

You need an ICC profile for your printer. Chromix has an excellent service at http://www2.chromix.com/colorvalet/ which will do this calibration for you. You download some software they provide, then print a test file on the exact same paper you are using for your cards. Then send the output to them and they will calibrate the colors with their equipment and send you the ICC profile file. Once you have it, you'll be able to print accurate colors.
There are other services out there that may cost less, but I do not know how reputable they are. Chromix is a good business I've worked with many times.
If you are trying to run a business and you don't understand color management yet, you may be in for a lot of trouble. Please get the book "Real World Color Management" available at http://www.colorremedies.com/realworldcolor/ and it will save you a ton of money and headaches.

I downloaded a template from WWW and edited it with dreamweaver, previewed it all ok then I uploaded and there came a problem.
The site is still under construction but in FIREFOX it doesn't even show the design, while in IE it shows correctly ( Atleast to me , my friend got no design on both browsers ) .

The site does not show correctly because the browsers cannot find the stylesheet (the .css file) because you link to a file on your H drive on your computer.
You should upload the style.css file to your webserver and change the link in your HTML file
so instead of this:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="file:///H|/Documents and Settings/Mirko/Desktop/Beauty/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /><style type="text/css">
you should change it to this:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /><style type="text/css">

Problems with site management

I have a problem with the site setup dialog box in the Site Management area in CS5. Only the "Advanced Settings" in the left panel is active. The other three selections do not not respond when clicked. My OS is Windows 7. Is this a known problem and what is the fix?

It is a new install. I have re-installed twice and also checked preferences, although I don't know quite what I am looking for (they appear to be OK). All with no resolution!

[Solved]Need help with backup-manager

So I'm trying to set up backup-manager to make.. well, backups. Their wiki has been shut down thanks to spammers, and ours has no specific entry for backup-manager, so I will have to do it with its man page and the (well documented) config file. However, I still have some questions. Sorry in advance for the amount of questions and the length of the topic. I just wanted to get this clear in one go.
First: I want to make a *full* system backup, so that I can restore my system in case of breakage without reinstalling. When I looked at creating backups in the past, I noticed some folders don't necessarily had to be backupped. What folders in / could I skip?
Second: I chose the tarball backup format. Would it then be safe to comment out all the other variables (for tarbal-incremental/mySQL) backups?
Third: Now there were some parts of the config file that I didn't understand. I hope you can explain some of those parts to me.

Tried to do a selective upgrade & broke something this morning so I tried restoring my CompleteRaid0 backup, worked like a charm.

Help with file management

Well I am just starting my first project using FCP and can see that it is going to be a learning curve after coming over from PPro.
One thing that I have been unable to find is just how to keep track of which clips have been used in the timeline, and how many times. In Premiere Pro I had the option to show video and audio usage for each clip in the browser.
Have not found how to do this yet in FCP.
Hope someone can help with this....

Guess that I just have to get used to how it is done in FCP. I have over 1,500 clips in about 30 folders and it would sure make it easy if I could just glance at a clip in the browser and see if it has been used.
Thanks for the tip on the duplicate frames though. That is going to help to identify duplicate clips once they are placed in the timeline.
Sure seems like a lot of time spent identifying if a clip is already used though. As I look through the clips in the browser I guess there is no way to tell if they have been used other than put them in the timeline or use the search function.

(how browsers handle encryption, de-encryption), iPlanet experts, Sun
crypto card experts, webdesign for performance experts.
Our website is hosted on a Sun Enterprise 450 server running Solaris v7
The machine is hosted at Exodus. These are the following software
servers that perform the core functions of the website:
iPlanet Web Server v. 4.1 ( Java server is enabled)
IBM db2 v. 7.1
SAA uses SmartSite, a proprietary system developed by Adaptations
(www.adaptations.com). At the level of individual HTML pages, SmartSite
uses
proprietary markup tags and Tcl code embedded in HTML comments to
publish
content stored in a database. SmartSite allows for control over when,
how and
to whom content appears. It is implemented as a java servlet which
stores its data on the db2 server and uses a tcl like scripting language
(jacl- orginally developed by Sun)
CHALLENGE:
In late June this year we launched a redesigned website with ssl enabled
on all pages. (a departure from the previous practice of maintaining
most of the site on non-secure server and only some pages on a ssl
server). We also introduced a new website design with greater use of
images, nested tables and javascript.
We have found that the introduction of the "secure everywhere" policy
has had a detrimental effect on the web site user experience, due to
decreased web server and web browser performance. In other words, the
site got slower. Specifically, we have
identified the following problems:
1. Web server performance degradation. Due to unidentified increases in
web
server resource demand caused (probably) by the global usage of SSL, the
web
server experienced instability. This was resolved by increasing the
amount of
operating system (OS) resources available to the server.
2. Web browser performance degradation. Several categories are noted:
2.1. Page load and rendering. Page load and rendering time has
increased dramatically on the new site, particularly in the case of
Netscape Navigator. Some of this may be attributed to the usage of SSL.
Particularly, the rendering time of complex tables and images may be
markedly slower on slower client machines.
2.2. Non-caching of content. Web browsers should not cache any content
derived from https on the local hard disk. The amount of RAM caching
ability varies form browser to browser, and machine to machine, but is
generally much less than for disk caching. In addition, some browser may
not cache content in RAM cache at all. The overall effect of reduced
caching is increased accesses to the web server to retrieve content.
This
will degrade server performance, as it services more content, and also
web browser performance, as it will spend more time waiting for page
content before and while rendering it.
Things that have been attempted to improve performance:
1) Reducing javascript redundancy (less compiling time required)
2) Optimizing HTML code (taking out nested tables, hard coding in specs
where possible to reduce compiling time)
3) Optimizing page content assembly (reducing routine redundancy,
enabling things to be compiled ahead of time)
4) Installing an encryption card (to speed page encryption rate) - was
removed as it did not seem to improve performance, but seemed to have
degraded performance

Help with Password Management!!!

I am having a problem configuring my OID password management options... the Admin guide says that I can do it through Directory Manager by selecting the server in the left hand pane and editing the data on the password management tab... problem is I have no password management tab... it's not there!
So I notice that I can also use the command line tools to modidy the entry "cn=pwdpolicyentry,cn=oracle internet" directory. I assume that "cn=oracle internet directory" is the top level of my tree... doing a search for anything cn=* from the top level results in three things as follows... none of them are the entry I want:
cn=configset1,cn=metadird,cn=configsets,cn=oracle internet Directory
cn=odipgroup,cn=odi,cn=oracle internet directory
cn=odisgroup,cn=odi,cn=oracle internet directory
OK... so in desperation I attempt to add the entry "cn=pwdpolicyentry,cn=oracle internet directory" and the server says it already exists.
Seems to me there is something messed up with my Directoty Information Tree but I don't know why that would be (I just installed and the install gave me no errors) or how to fix it. Can someone please help???

Querying the password policy entry can be a little bit tricky unless you are very familiar with LDAP. Here's the command that does the trick:

Help with Desktop Manager

I have a BB Bold 9650 and run Desktop Manager to synch to MS Office. I ran version 5.0.xxx and today got an update notice for version 6.0. I chose to run the update and midway through the update, got several error messages that the software was not compatible with MS and should be shut down. After the third warning message, I shut down the update, now all I get are error messages and I cannot run the Desktop Manager. I tried to uninstall, but MS failed to fully uninstall version 6.0, I tried to reinstall version 5.0 from Verizon website, but still no luck. Ideas????

Dreamweaver help with site set up. Local and remote server

Hi,
I've just got dreamweaver cs6 and i'm having issues with managing the site.
Up until now I was using dreamweaver cs3 and when setting up a new site, the site definition had the category Local info and Remote info separated.
Now on CS6 I cannot set up both individually for the same site, it doesn't give the option, it's one or the other which it doesnt work for me if I want to test a page locally, via preview on browser, otherwise it will upload it to the server if I choose FTP. If I choose only local then I lose all the ftp settings and once I've done the testing it won't upload to the server.
Surely it has to be a work around this or something Im doing wrong but I can't see what it is

There is no need to uncheck remote and testing. Previewing locally should work exactly the same as it did in CS3.
Are you using a server-side language? If so, expand the Files panel by clicking this icon:
Then make sure that the Testing Server icon is selected.

Please help with Instance Manager

I created a button that will show/hide a subform. The issue is I need multiple buttons like this. I thought changing the name of the subform in this script would allow me to use another button for a different subform. For instance, Instead of using the word Alabama I could replace it with Alaska and it would show/hide that subform. Could having multiple pages in a subform affect its functionality? Please Help!

When you say you are not in standalone mode, I assume you are connecting to an Oracle Management Server which is running somewhere in your network. You need to discover your node. To do this you must start the intelligent agent on the server where you have your database. Then from the OEM console select navigator from the menu bar, and then discover nodes. Next enter the name of your server. OEM will attempt to contact the intelligent agent on that server in order to get the database information.

Help with memory management

Hi apple community - I'm at a loss.... Can someone please help me with my memory management? My computer has become so slow lately. I've read a bunch of forums and can't seem to find anything that helps. I can't find a pattern to the slowness other than when I use big files in Photoshop it slows down quite a bit, but I assume that's normal when you're editing photos that are around 1GB... My computer doesn't really seem to be releasing inactive memory at all. Once it goes inactive, I can close all the programs I want but it never becomes free. I tried applications like "Free memory" and they worked but it's not really fixing the problem and when I do re-open stuff it takes FOREVER so I didn't really like using those. I attached a screen shot of my activity monitor... Any help would be much appreciated... thanks!

Simple fact is it looks like you have every program ever installed on your system open all at the same time.
Post how Many Processes are running. I bety it is well over 100.
Sure 8GBs is plenty of RAM IF you actually shut down, QUIT, Programs you are done using them.
Just from the SS you posted you have Spotify, Numbers, Pages, Skype and Safari all open and running, let alone what isn't shown in that SS. And now you open Photoshop and load a Large Image and you expect the system to just fly. Not going to happen. The whole Apple Mac thing of not shutting down programs when you close the last Windows that is open on the desktop has always been IMHO Very Stupid. In this Respect Windows has OS X beat Hands Down (alone with other feature that are just done better in Windows). You Click the X and the window and program close which frees up the RAM and all resources that program was using.
So Shut some of that Stuff Down. System will get faster.
