Help with Transitions...  targets="*" ?

I search through the helps and docs but couldn't find what i
was looking for.
I was wondering if ther is another or an easyer way to tell
multiple targets what to do...
Imagine that I have a 'Main' state and when you click an
'About' button, the 'About' state comes in... So i wanted all the
elements from the 'Main' state to become suffer a blur effect. The
fact is that writing all the components ID in targes (as the
example above) is a pain in the ***.
Example
<mx:Transition fromState="*" toState="*">
<!-- Parallel effects execute in unison -->
<mx:Parallel targets="{[loginPanel, registerLink,
loginButton, confirm]}">
Since I searched and found nothing, can anyone tell if there
is a way to pass all the elements to the targets attribute without
writing all them down?
<mx:Parallel targets="***">
And also, is there any command to disable all those elements
functions? Like making DataGrids stop working/selecting lines?
Thanks in advance

oh and to disable a datagrid or anything else i like to make
them look washed out or gray by simply creating a state with a 50%
transparent, white canvas over it, you wont be able to click or
interact with it as the canvas is blocking it and it will look
disabled as its colors and features will be "washed out", you can
mess with different colors and opacities

  • Help with event.target.name

    I am very green with actionscript and coding in general so please forgive me if I am asking something that sounds super simple.
    Is it possible to take "event.target.name" value which in my case would be something like "SW5005_mc" and change that value.
    I use that value right now to tell another clip to gotoAndStop(event.target.name); which I have frames labeled the same as the event.target.name.
    I would like to take the value of event.target.name for instance "SW5005_mc" and remove the "_mc" and put a dash in between the "SW" and the "5005"
    to get "SW-5005" which then I would pass into a text field.
    I really don't know where to begin or if this is possible.
    Thanks for any help or suggestions,
    Chris

    yes you can do it with String manipulation, check out the various String Class methods, some examples here:

  • AS 2.0 help with transitions

    i'm wondering what the best method is to apply the same
    transtion to multiple images in a photo based site.
    i've created a fade in as my transition (see attached code)
    and would like to apply the same effect to all images in the site.
    thanks in advance for the help.

    thanks for the help. things are working more or less....
    just wondering how to apply it across several frames. i've
    placed the code on the first frame of each image section, but it
    seems to only work for that one frame. perhaps i'm not placing the
    code in the proper section.
    any advice?

  • Help with transitions and fade in / out

    I need help. I need some kind and infinitely patient personto explain, step by step, in simple words of less that one syllable how I can fade in my movie and how I can apply transitions between the clips.
    I’ve tried, oh have I tried. I’ve read the manual, I’ve watched three video’s on youtube (they were bad!), found a lot of quality online help but I still don’t get it.
    What I do get is random results.  Like my movie fades in once then it won’t do it again. Like I get the grey transition box but can’t extend the transition beyond0.1 of a second. Like I trim my movie and the transition removes the trim. And so on.
    So if some kind soul could help, or even point me in the direction of transitions made simple I’d appreciate it.
    Many  thanks.

  • Help with transitions.

    I have used imovie for dozens of projects and decided to step up to FCE 3.5. After several hours, reading through several threads on this topic, and the instruction book, I still cant figure out how to put a cross disolve between to separate clips. I got it to work with clips I split with the razor tool, and get get transitions such as fade in/out to work, but I cant seem to do a simple cross disolve between 2 separate clips.
    I prefer the drag-n-drop method for transitions like iMovie. I have two clips side by side and when I try to apply the effect it will only show up on one of the clips. It wont place the effect on both clips. I guess specifically I am having trouble placing a transition centered on an edit point. Is there a simple method to adding transitions like iMovie?
    Please be patient with me I may need step by step instruction

    First off thanks for being patient with me. My current project I am working with is editing wakeboarding video. the reason that half second may be important is because the clips are only 2-3 second long to begin with. But maybe I am not fully clear on how this works.
    It is my understanding that in iMovie when drag a 1 second cross dissolve between 2 adjacent clips, it automatically pulls 15 frames from each clip and puts them into the transition.
    When I click on a clip in the tl to bring it up in to the viewer and mark the out point on one and then the in point on the next, looking at the TL it appears the the content between the two has been removed. Are those frames now gone from the project? If I then put the two remaining clips side by side the cross dissolve works.

  • Newbie-help with transitions--ripple dissolve not acting right

    I'm a FCP newbie and having a problem with ripple dissolve.
    This is what I did: in the TL put clip 1 followed by clip 2. Took the video of clip two and dragged it above clip 1 at the point I want the transition to start. Click on the in point (where the transition is supposed to start.) Select "Ripple Dissolve." Render. And voila, the ripple dissolve looks like a cross dissolve. I experimented with selecting the transition and trading it for a number of other transitions and all of the other transitions work but every time I try Ripple, I get a cross vs the look of a ripple dissolve.
    What am I doing wrong?

    1) in one instance while the transition works fine, I'd like it to start earlier in the clip and the video to ripple while listening to the audio under. How do I do this?
    When you hold the option Key you can select the audio seperate from the video and then put it on two other audio tracks. Then you can OPTION drag the beginning or ending of the audio to the position you want.
    2) in another instance, the ripple dissolve works fine, but near the beginning of clip 2, the video fades almost to black, then comes back up again to full color (this is underneath the ripple dissolve)--almost as if there's a crossfade mixed into the ripple dissolve. When I take the transition off altogether, there is no crossfade whatsoever. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this crossfade?
    I guess what's happening is that you still don't get the idea of handles completely. Clip 1 needs extra length after the cut (handle). Clip 2 needs extra length BEFORE the cut. (handle)
    Do some googling on this topic...
    Also [Larry Jordan|http://www.larryjordan.biz/articles/lj_handles.html] wrote a nice article on this topic.

    I need help with XML Gallery Fade in out transition. somebody please help me
    I have my post dont want to duplicate it

    The problem doesn't lie with your feed, although it does contain an error - you have given a non-existent sub-category. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#categories
    Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:
    [Reference]
    Ref1=http://stream.riverratdoc.com/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    Ref2=http://70.33.177.247:80/RiverratDoc/episode2.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    You must provide a direct link to the actual mp3 file. Streaming won't work. The test is that if you paste the URL of the media file (as given in the feed) into the address bar of a browser it should play the file.

  • Need help with CS4 transitions

    Hi,
    I am trying to use a cross dissolve transition. To make it simple, I have two clips. I'm obviously doing something wrong here. I've watched the Adobe TV tutorial and all the guy does is to select cross dissolve from the effects box, and drags it over to the clip on the timeline. I think I am doing the exact same thing, but when I play my clip back, I can see no transition effect played back.
    Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place I thought, so I tried putting it in front of the split between the two clips. Then again at the beginning of the second clip. Neither of them worked, so I shut CS4 down, and booted it up again. I started a new project, and put two new clips in it. I put the dissolve transition at the beginning of the second clip, and it worked like a charm. Then to see if that was a fluke, went to a point about 3 minutes earlier in the timeline. So now I am on clip one. I go and make a cut in the timeline, and try to place another Cross dissolve at this spot. It appears to place the transition there because it creates the rectangular box, and it has the name cross dissolve in that rectangular box,but when I try to play it to see the transition, it isn't working. Go back to the beginning of the second clip, and that one still works perfectly.
    I noticed that there is a difference in the appearance of the two cross dissolve rectangular boxes. The one that works has a single diagonal line that goes from lower left to upper right in the cross dissolve box, and then there are a whole series of diagonal lines that go from upper left to lower right all across the cross dissolve box . It looks like a whole bunch of dark gray and white backslashes. In the one that doesn't work, there is just that single diagonal line that goes from lower left to upper right. No backslashes on this one. What am I doing right in the first one, but not in the second?
    I find that it will work perfectly if I put in a new clip. If I put in the Cross Dissolve at the beginning of a new clip that I add to the timelime,  it will work perfectly. It is only when I try to split a clip that is already on the timeline, and then put the cross dissolve in at that point.
    Perhaps it is not possible to do what I am attempting to do. Maybe you can't split a clip and place the transition at that point?

    When I am shooting video, it is not unusual for me to be taping a scene of a mountain, for example, and then put the camera on pause, while I briefly position myself to take video of the river that is flowing at my feet. That is what is happened on this clip that I am attempting to put the transition in between. Rather than having the scene just instantly change at this point, from the mountain to the river, it would be nice to have a smoother transition then that.
    My mind was working on the problem while sleeping last night, and I think I might understand how to handle it. It might have been too simple for me to think about yesterday. I haven't tried it yet, but would it not work, to insert the mountain scene from my source monitor into the timeline, and then go back and insert the river scene into the time line instead of inserting both of them at the same time. Would these not now be two separate clips on the timeline, and the transition could now be applied?
    Your analogy with the DJ is very good, but it isn't quite the same. You are correct in that he would be only fading from one song to the same spot on the same song. In my case I am going from an image of a mountain to an image of a river. Same clip, but different images. I appreciate the help, and your thoughts.

    From a creative standpoiint, I don't understand the desire to transition from one clip to the exact same spot on that same clip.  That's like a DJ at a night club fading from one song to the exact same spot on that same song being played on a second CD player.  What's the point?

  • Punchout Site Developer Needs Help With ~TARGET=_top

    I've developed an OCI punchout catalog for my company in 2004 and for several years we only had one customer on it and everything was fine.  They are using ~TARGET=Main and it seems to work fine for them.
    I'm in the process of bringing a new customer online and they want to use our punchout in a new window outside of their SRM and when they are done with our site, they want the cart contents posted back to their main window and they want to our site to close.  I'm not aware of any way a child window can post data back to a parent window and then close itself.  I've tried many different things and just about everything I've tried produces 1 of 2 results...
    I've changed the target parameter of my form to _top, _parent, window.parent, window.opener, etc.
    1.) My checkout form posts to the child window itself.
    2.) My checkout form creates yet another child window and posts to it.
    When either of these two things happen, the HOOK_URL page is shown, but my cart contents don't make it into the page.  Closing the child form part is easy with...
          window.open('','_parent','');
          window.close();
    I just can't get my form on the child window to submit back to the parent window and don't understand how to do so.  Like I said, I've messed with the target attribute of my form tag but haven't had any luck.
    I'm a bit confused by this.  I'm not sure how a child window form could possibly post back to a parent window.  Really I'm looking for a good example on posting back to the SRM correctly when your site is in a child window.  My environment of my catalog is ASP on an IIS server.
    Please forgive my weak understanding of all this... I threw together my punchout integration in our corporate catalog years ago for this first customer and I don't remember the whole process.  It really didn't take that long to get it all set up and working.
    Thanks for any help!

    I have put several clips with transitions into the timeline in final cut pro X. There are two separate clips which are followed by transitions which do not play at the right speed. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening - any thoughts/help?

    The two HD clips were purchased from itunes (MPEG - 4) and converted to .mov for use in Final Cut Pro. Project properties - 720p HD 1280x720 (60p)

  • Need help with banner! revised

    Hello everyone,
    Thank you to everyone who attempted to answer my first post. But I realized my post was a little vague so I will try to apply more detail as to what I'm talking about. Ok I hope this sounds a little more clearer... I'm trying to add this banner to my page but it will not stretch the length of the page. When I
    insert the image it starts at about 3-4 inches from the left margin and will not stretch to the left only the right. I do not have a web domain yet but below you can find the html code of the page I'm working on. Also here is the free template I am referencing http://demo.templateworld.com/zero/in_action/aquatic/. I want the banner in the same position but I will change the image on the inside of the banner. I hope this can help someone diagnosis my problem and help me out. In advance thanks.

              <p>Saltwater aquarium set up takes time but it is exciting adventure.</p>
              <p>It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks before you can add any saltwater fish
    safely to your saltwater aquarium.</p>
              <p>I know it is disappointing to wait too long before you can start
    putting fish into your saltwater aquarium, but you wouldn&#8217;t want to risk
    losing them.</p>
              <p>Saltwater fish are quite pricey. So I would say that <b> patience </b>
    is the key!</p>
              <p>Before we move on to more details of aquarium set up, think about
    these things first:</p>

              </ul>
              <p>With these in mind, you can really start a plan on putting a
    saltwater aquarium together.</p>
              <p>Now, follow these simple set up steps and you will be on your way
    to creating a beautiful saltwater aquarium easily:</p>
              <a name="step1"></a><h3>STEP 1</h3>
              <h4>Choosing your Location, Aquarium Size and Aquarium Stand</h4>
              <img class="imgleft" alt="Saltwater Aquarium with Live Corals"
    src="index_files/custom_aquarium_setup_page.jpg" width="200"
    height="141">
              <p>The first step in saltwater aquarium set up is choosing a location
    that is nowhere close to natural lighting sources.</p>
              <p>Close to windows, entrance that has a clear door where sun rays can
    come in and patios are a <b> BIG NO! </b></p>
              <p>Intense sunlight can produce excessive algae which are a beginner
    aquarist's usual problem. A cooler room temperature that is
    well-ventilated would be the best.</p>
              <p>Choose a large enough location for your aquarium.  Set up a level
    and well supported area for your aquarium and stand and is highly
    preferred. Make sure to leave enough space for electrical connections
    and other equipments as well as around the aquarium for
              <a

    title="Saltwater Aquarium Care and Maintenance">maintenance and

              <p><a
    href="http://www.saltwater-aquarium-online-guide.com/selecting-an-aquarium.html"
    title="Selecting and Aquarium">Properly selected aquarium</a> will help
    in a successful saltwater aquarium and set up will be a breeze. It&#8217;s
    not as hard as it may seem. The first requirement is a proper glass
    tank! It&#8217;s a mistake to buy a small aquarium "just to get started."</p>
    <a href="http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2737597-10532823" target="new"
    onclick="window.open('http://www.saltwater-aquarium-online-guide.com/cgi-bin/counter.pl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ejdoqocy%2Ecom%2Fclick-2737597-10532823&amp;referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Esaltwater-aquarium-online-guide%2Ecom%2Faquarium-set-up%2Ehtml');

    alt="Ultimate Reef Aquarium Package" border="0" width="300" height="250"></a>
              <p>My suggestion is to get the largest aquarium you can afford.</p>
              <p>It&#8217;s actually better generally for first timers.</p>
              <p>But make sure it will fit your space and of course your budget!</p>
              <p>Larger aquariums are more forgiving of beginners&#8217; mistakes and
    provide a much more stable environment.</p>
              <p>If you buy a small aquarium, I&#8217;m pretty sure that you will just
    upgrade to a bigger one later on.</p>
              <p>
              </p><table align="left" cellspacing="10" width="200">
              <tbody><tr>
              <td cellpadding="5">
              <p class="nanocube">If you're really interested in starting a
    saltwater aquarium system but can't afford all the equipments right now,

    cube"</a> technology.</p>
              </td>
              </tr>
              </tbody></table>
              <p>Surface area of the aquarium should also be taken into account in
    aquarium set up.</p>
              <p>Oxygen enters the water and, more importantly, noxious gases such
    as carbon dioxide escape into the air at the water surface. So the
    larger the surface area, the more efficient the exchange of gases will
    be.</p>
              <p>Another important consideration in aquarium set up is the shape of
    the aquarium.</p>
              <p>There are now too many unusual shapes to choose from in addition to
    the usual rectangular shape. From hexagonal to octagonal, bow-fronted
    and even trapezoidal aquariums are available.</p>
              <p>But they all have their problems. They can be difficult to light,
    the saltwater fish may find it hard to establish territories or even
    swim properly or make viewing distorted and are harder to clean. The
    surface area could be compromised by an unusual shape.</p>
              <p>Next is choosing something to stand it on. Choose a sturdy stand
    that is capable of supporting the weight of a filled aquarium.</p>
              <p>If you're looking for the <b>lowest priced</b> aquarium stands
    available, of course, there's a huge selection on E-bay. Below you'll
    see the five lowest priced items being offered right now:</p>

    And what I am saying is that the banner itself does not stretch. It is enclosed in the #mainPanBut I can't see your image files, so I can't tell you what that background image on the body of the page is supposed to be. You've had other responses that also say that the image itself does not stretch.
    Test my theory:
    Open your page in a browser (from Dreamweaver). Change the size of the browser window. See what happens with the banner.
    The other thing you should do is compare the size of the images you are using with the size of the images in the template. If they are not the same size, you will see a difference in the way your page acts vs the Template World page.
    But really, it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot a page that one cannot see the actual code of...not a print of the code, but the page and code in action.
    If you want to show a screenshot, check the instructions in the Forum. Your image this time did not show up.

  • I need Help with a website I've created

    I need help with a website I've created (www.jonathanhazelwood.com/lighthouse) I created the folowing site with dreamweaver at my current resolution 1366 by 768. Looks great on my screen resolution but if it is viewed on other resolutions the menu moves and some of the text above and below. How can I keep all content centered and working like it does on 1366 by 768 on all resolutions. The htm to my site is below I started off with a blank template through dreamweaver CS5.

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Look at all the apdiv's you have.  Those are absolutely positioned layers.  I'm assuming by your post that you are very new to Dreamweaver and HTML and CSS.  I would highly recommend not using absolutely positioned layers until you have a better grasp on HTML and CSS.
    Looking at your code I would suggest that you consider using one of Dreamweaver's built in, or downloadable templates as a starting point and work from there.

  • Help with systemd problems/reply to closed thread

    @Everyone; as the previopus topic was closed, I am opening a new one here, partly to reply to some things that was said to me in the previous thread/topic (and I do not like to leave people hanging), but mainly to try and get some help with my systemd config (that I was not able to find help with in the wiki or manpages).
    @czubek; eww, that sounds rather similiar to some other operating systems I've heard of (not just, but obviously including, windows)... For me, subjectively, that is not very attractive, as being able to have a single application do a single thing, and then mixing and matching as I personally see fit is a great thing.
    @tomegun: I can indeed see your point, but if I made direct quotes on all the things I reply too, my posts would reach biblical proportions.
    Mmm-hmm, I do indeed know of "the Arch Way"; however, the system that you expose can be of varying complexity as well, and I found that the system that was presented to me by way of Sysvinit/initscripts was a way simpler system than that presented to me by systemd.
    Indeed, and I do like that; I enjoy knowing how my system works and learning more about it; however, the truth is that reading manpages and the wiki isn't always enough. And I use the numbers instead of letters in certain places as a jest, please, do not get offended by that; if you have to, get offended by my opinions.
    Ah, I have now scanned the wiki, the manpages, and have already faced problems. While part of me is saddened by this fact (as I was hoping for a smooth transition to systemd), part of me is glad that I can at least prove that everything isn't quite as simple as some people would make it out to be. More on this later in this post, as I do need help with the problems I have faced.
    And I wouldn't say that the new and old way are equally trivial, as I immediatley faced problems with "the new way". More on this later.
    Ok, I find that if the debate is polarized, then there is nothing wrong with describing it as such. I spell what I see.
    Oh my... Ignored as a matter of principle? I would say that that is an excellent way to stagnate; by that logic, moviemakers, gamemakers etcetera should ignore any and all criticism they recieve, as the critics are not contributing.... Wouldn't that lead to a complete halt in development? Isn't criticism (so long as it is constructive, obviously) a key component of (media/software) evolution?
    Ah, I see, then I  misunderstood the current state of the install media
    "Some adjustements"... Well, I guess we'll have to see how that goes, then. Hopefully it'll be smooth.
    @Everyone; Awebb possesses stunning accuracy as far as his observations go.
    @zb3; My point exactly.
    @tomegun; I believe you to be wrong; complaining (but not whining) is the first step towards improvement, as I think that I and zb3 has shown.
    Further, your last point (where you talk about "deep understanding of Y" and whatnot) is basically saying that only devs and programmers can contribute, so zb3's observation would be correct.
    Also, making suggestions is part of constructive criticism; you can do that even if you can't code, e.g. by saying "X works badly because it makes Y crash; couldn't we replace X with something akin to Z?". This is a valid point even if you have no intricate understanding of X, Y or Z, and if it is impossible to replace X for one reason or the other, it's not hard to reply with "Replacing X is impossible because of reason Q", and then see if someone can solve reason Q etcetera.
    zb3's example is obviously helping; for one, it would allow people to know taht they can't boot with systemd in certain cases, or that installing/runing systemd can break their system. I would consider that rather important information.
    @Everyone; Now then, to see if I can (or rather, if I can get help to) shed some light on some problems I've been having.
    My transition to systemd went pretty smooth (besides the fact that I couldn't use 'systemctl' to set anything, and neither duckduckgo nor any posts in the forums could help me (the error I continously got was "Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1") and that there are no manpages/tips on how to configure the files for "localtime" and "adjtime", which would've been good considering some syntax have changed) to about halfway through, to the point where I was supposed to start using systemd for my daemons.
    Now then, to the main problem; first, I tried running
    "systemctl enable syslog-ng.service"
    and got the following message;
    "ln -s '/usr/lib/systemd/system/syslog-ng.service' '/etc/systemd/system/syslog.service'
    ln -s '/usr/lib/systemd/system/syslog-ng.service' '/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/syslog-ng.service'"
    Since it doesn't exclusively say that something went wrong (at least as far as I can understand), I pondered the message a bit, but moved on to try and start dbus by issuing
    "systemctl enable dbus.service",
    to which I got the reply
    "The unit files have no [Install] section. They are not meant to be enabled using systemctl."
    This I can only assume is an error message of some sort, especially seeing as it says "not meant to be enabled using systemctl", but the wiki rather explicitly states that that is what I am supposed to do.
    I dare not move on (or attempt to start other daemons) without further advice, as I fear I might break my system. Any ideas as to how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

    indicates that running "systemctl enable syslog.service" is now enabled.
    If you try running sytemtctl enable <whatever>.service and get
    "The unit files have no [Install] section. They are not meant to be enabled using systemctl." means there is no <whatever>.service file available to enable.
    The dbus.service as far as I know is already enabled when installing systemd and doesn't require any action.
    Ah, right, systemd is chatty (I'm of the old skool; if nothing is/goes wrong, a program should keep quiet).
    Oh ok, then I should dare more on.
    ZekeSulastin wrote:To be a bit more precise, it means the service is there but it's only used as a dependency for something else; the [Install] section of the file is what tells systemctl where to link it and such.  Also, where exactly in the wiki were you told explicitly to 'systemctl enable dbus.service'?  I can easily point you to the sections in both installation guides that tell you how to set things like /etc/localtime et. al (also `man 7 archlinux`), but not the one that said to manually enable dbus.
    Ah, I see; and well, I was told right here, going from the top, to "Enable Daemons formerly listed in rc.conf [...] For a translation of the daemons from /etc/rc.conf to systemd services, see: List of Daemons and Services.", and, using the list, dbus is mentioned there, as you can see. Since I started from the top, I did not know that you didn't need to enable that service. Perhaps it could be added to the descriptions of the relevant services in the Wiki which ones are autostarted?

    Meh, I directly refer to the relevant people, they can easily see their own old posts in the previous thread, etcetera... I think te ones who have something to say will be able to find my replies to their previous statements (or so I hope). For now, as everyone can see, I quote stuff (but man might I make some huge posts if I ever post again in the future, if I quote what I reply to).

    Ah ok, thanks (or perhaps a cautious thanks? Moving it to "newbie corner" might, after all, be a subtle insult...).
    tomegun wrote:It is not really possible to follow your message as you don't quote what you are replying to. Moreover, as the thread was closed I think that means we should stop the discussion ;-)
    Hmm, I think it means cop-out for lack or proper arguments/responses... But ok, I'll let it slide, for now (mainly as I can't do much else).
    tomegun wrote:You are not meant to enable dbus.service as it is enabled unconditionally. To check the enabled/disabled state of your services try "systemctl list-unit-files". "static" means that you are not supposed to enabled/disable it.
    Ah ok, thank you. Now, having abandoned all hope, I'll start configuring again and see how it goes... May the void protect me. If I die, grieve not for me, but remember me in the fight against hard-to-configure applications.
    (edit/addon)
    Actually, what am I supposed to do with "hwclock"? the List of Daemons only says that I shouldn't run that in tandem with ntpd, but I'm not running ntpd, so... How do I get hwclock with systemd?
    Edited for additional question.

  • Self-running presentation with transitions & animations on web?

    I want to create a self-running presentation with transitions and animations that I can post on a web site, ideally as a Flash file.  Is this possible with Keynote?  What are my options?

    Thanks, Edward.
    I did some research on the web and the most recent information I can find is for 2009, showing Quicktime with an installation rate of 65% or so.  In my target audience, my guess is the installation rate will be somewhat higher.  So I will switch to Keynote, recreate the presentation (or import it, if I can), and export it to Quicktime as an interim solution.  At less than 100%, I can be reasonably certain that some people who do not have QT installed will simply leave my site rather than download QT to watch my video.
    I'm no programmer so I have no idea how hard it would be, but, as a big-time Apple fan and a long time marketing person, I would say that if Keynote users want to post their presentations (with transitions and animations) on the web, then Apple should support exporting to Flash.  (Of course, I would say the same thing to MS about PP, but w/o the "big-time fan" comment.)
    Thanks again.  You've helped me make progress.
