Help!! wms and java api

hi!, i`m newie on oracle, and i`m using mapviewer with java api but i have problems with the addWMSMapTheme function:
Object vsp = new Object[]{new String[]{"DATASOURCE", "example"}, new String[]{"antialiasing", "true"}};
mv.addWMSMapTheme("wmstheme","http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/wms.cgi?","false","1.1.1","BMNG","default","EPSG:4326","image/jpeg","false","0xFFFFFF","application/vnd.ogc.se_inimage", vsp);
it return a exception (that the object vsp is not define).
does i have to use the xml request?? how can do it??

Hi,
you can use the API which will generate and send the map request to MapViewer. Your vsp parameter looks strange. The following is a sample code that use the MVDEMO data set, just to give you an idea of the definition for vsp parameter.
    mapViewer.setImageFormat(MapViewer.FORMAT_PNG_URL);
    mapViewer.setDataSourceName("mvdemo");
    mapViewer.setCenterAndSize(-70.,44.,20.);
    mapViewer.setMapTitle("WMS");
    mapViewer.deleteAllThemes();
     Object []vsp = new Object[]{new String[]{"DATASOURCE", "mvdemo"}  };
     mapViewer.addWMSMapTheme("wms_theme", "http://localhost:7001/mapviewer/wms",
                              new String[] {"THEME_DEMO_STATES"}, new String[] { "asdf"},
                              "SDO:8265", "image/png","0xffffff", vsp);
     System.out.println("Current request: " + mapViewer.getMapRequestString());
     boolean response = mapViewer.run();
     if (response)
          double[] mbr = mapViewer.getMapMBR();
          System.out.println("mbr="+mbr[0]+","+mbr[1]+" "+mbr[2]+","+mbr[3]);
          System.out.println("URL: " + mapViewer.getGeneratedMapImageURL());
      }For you case, make sure the WMS server at http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/wms.cgi? is running and accepting requests. I tried a GetCapabilities request to this server, and got an exception message that the system was overloaded and not processing requests.

  • Difference in event handling between Java and Java API

    could anyone list the differences between Java and java-API in event handling??
    thanks,
    cheers,
    Hiru

    the event handling mechanisms in java language
    features and API (java Application Programming
    Features)features .no library can work without a
    language and no language has event handling built in.
    I am trying to compare and contrast the event
    handling mechanisms in the language and library
    combinations such as java/ java API.
    all contributions are welcome!
    thanks
    cheersSorry, I'm still not getting it. I know what Java is, and I know what I think of when I hear API. (Application Programming Interface.) The API is the aggregation of all the classes and methods you can call in Java. If we agree on that, then the event handling mechanisms in Java and its API are one and the same.
    So what do you want to know?

  • Winhelp Help system and Java

    Hello,
    Of the several products we develop, one, a Java program, uses the Java Help help system (logically). The others use a standard Winhelp help system (developed in Robohelp). Our current workflow for developing a help system for the Java program is to batch convert the Winhelp RTF files into HTML files. The problem is, most of our Winhelp formatting is either dropped or incorrectly represented in the Java help file. Also, I prefer the look and feel of a Winhelp system over Java.
    Is it possible for a Java program to be modified so that it supports a Winhelp help system and not a Java Help system? If so, how is this done, and where can one find information on the process?
    If not, what options do we have to "pretty up" the Java output from the conversion?
    Thanks!
    Todd

    Thanks for your response. Could you direct me to a resource that explains the steps for accomplishing this? I'll need to provide the development staff with instructions.
    Thanks again!

  • Error message when listing activities with Oracle BPEL Control and Java API

    I'm implementing some BPEL processes in an Oracle Application server 10.1.3.3 environment.
    I use the Oracle BPEL Process Manager Client Java API to access some BPEL instances but when I want to list their activities with IInstanceHandle.listActivities() (I've tested the IInstanceHandle and it contains an open process instance) I receive the following error message:
    "Activity error:ORABPEL-04003 Cannot find work items. An attempt to fetch the work items using the where condition "cikey = ? AND ( wi_state = 1 OR wi_state = 2 OR wi_state = 3 ) " from the datastore has failed. The exception reported is: [ODBC S1002] invalid column number Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid. sql statement: SELECT * FROM admin_list_wi WHERE ci_domain_ref = 0 AND cikey = ? AND ( wi_state = 1 OR wi_state = 2 OR wi_state = 3 )"
    When I try to use the BPEL control to list the activities I also receive an error, which I think is related:
    "[javax.servlet.ServletException]
    Cannot find work items.
    An attempt to fetch the work items using the where condition "" from the datastore has failed. The exception reported is: [ODBC S1002] invalid column number
    Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
    sql statement: SELECT * FROM admin_list_wi WHERE ci_domain_ref = 0 ORDER BY wi_modify_date desc"
    Has anyone found a solution to this error? There are a couple of developers in our team that has the same problem and also have a similar problem when trying to purge instances from the BPEL control. The problem started when we patched to 10.1.3.3.

    When you upgraded to 10.1.3.3 did you run the SQL scripts that modified the SOA suite schemas?

  • CHM help file and java

    is there any way to open a chm help file using java (so that the help viewer starts up)? this program will probably display a chm if it's running on a windows machine and in html if not

    Useing RunTime Class in Java you can opern the CHM help file using the hh.exe
    The hh.exe will be present in the windows directory.
    See if this helps.
    Your doubts are not related directly to JNI.
    Didnt I misunderstand.

  • LDAP, ADS, and Java API???

    Hi buddies,
    I am to design a web-page (basically a servlet or JSP page) that accepts a username and pwd. The deal is to authenticate this user against the Active Directory Service which is basically on win 2003 server machine. Now how do I achieve this???
    I have some assumptions of ADS and LDPA here...
    1. ADS uses LDAP, or to be more specific LDAP can be used for ads services, right or wrong?
    2. Are their built in API for LDAP services?
    3. If no, does the implementation vary from platform to platform...
    4. What is the difference between ADS and LDAP, will I be wrong if I say ADS is platform dependent and LDAP is much a protocol implementation of the same?
    Any ideas suggestions???

    Active Directory is a LDAP compatible directory service and is accessible via a number of directory service protocols which can be accessed programmatically with;
    LDAP 'C' API's,
    Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI, a set of COM interfaces to access Active Directory, NT Domains, Netware Directory services etc.)
    Microsoft's Messaging API (MAPI used by Microsoft Exchange clients)
    Microsoft Win32 Net" API's (aka LAN Manager API's)
    and as you are about to discover,
    via JNDI and the LDAP Name Service Provider.

    Regards
    Suresh babu

    Hi Suresh,
    You can have the MDM JAVA API javadocs from the link
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/MDM/SP06P2/index.html
    There you can see a package named com.sap.mdm.examples.The classes in it contains some examples using which you can start understanding the code.
    You need to have MDM JAR files for it. And these JAR files to be used at build time can be added to the project thru :-
    Right click on project-> properties->Java Build Path - > Add external JARs
    At run time you can add them the reference in
    Right click on project-> properties->web dynpro references->library reference.
    Thanks

  • Help with Essbase 9 and the Java API

    Hi, I am trying to connect to Essbase from a Java desktop application and I am unable to do so. I need to know if I am in principle doing the right things and if I have the correct environment set up.
    We have a server with Essbase version 9.3.1. We normally use essbase via the Excel Addin, and I have already written Excel applications that utilise both the addin and the Essbase VB API. Now I need to connect to Essbase but from outside Excel and using the Java API. I have no idea what APS is nor does my Essbase Administrator.
    My application has the following code (adapted from a post in this forum) -
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String s_userName = "user";
    String s_password = "password";
    String s_olapSvrName = "ustca111";
    String s_provider = "http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI";
    try{
    IEssbase ess = IEssbase.Home.create(IEssbase.JAPI_VERSION);
    IEssDomain dom = ess.signOn(s_userName, s_password, false, null, s_provider);
    IEssOlapServer olapSvr = dom.getOlapServer(s_olapSvrName);
    olapSvr.connect();
    System.out.println("Connection to Analyic server '" + olapSvr.getName() + "' was successful.");
    olapSvr.disconnect();
    }catch(EssException exp){
    System.out.println(exp.getMessage());
    I am running my application on my computer, not on the Essbase server, and the username I am using is the same one I use (as a user of Essbase) via the Essbase Addin in Excel, not an admin login.
    When I run the app I get:
    "Cannot connect to Provider Server.Make sure the signon parameters are correct and the Provider Server is running."
    Please can you confirm:
    1) Do I need an admin login for my client application to connect to the Essbase server or can I use a normal read-access login, like the one I use in Excel?
    2) Is the provider always the same regardless of the computer, i.e. "http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI"; How do I know what this has to be? Where do I get this information from?
    3) How can I make sure that the Server is running the necessary "Provider Server", is this just a service that will show on services.msc of the server? What should I ask the Essbase Administrator for him to tell me what I need?
    Thank you very much.
    Leo

    Tim, when I look in my computer's Essbase installation path I can only find the following jar files (from the ones you have listed).
    C:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices\JavaAPI\external\css\log4j-1.2.8.jar
    C:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices\JavaAPI\lib\ess_es_server.jar
    C:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices\JavaAPI\lib\ess_japi.jar
    I do not have css-9_3_1.jar or interop-sdk.jar.
    In order to try the embedded mode, I added the three jars I have to the classpath, and have re-built and ran with "embedded" as the provider. This is what I got in my output screen:
    run:
    Error accessing the properties file. essbase.properties: essbase.properties (The system cannot find the file specified). Using default values.

    As you can see, this has worked (as I get the data I was looking for at the end), but when I had the url in the provider string, I just get the below, without the initial errors:

    Now that I can get both modes to work I intend to write a Windows application, place it in a shared drive, and allow multiple users to use it. Which mode should I use?
    By the way, I found the essbase.properties file in C:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices\JavaAPI\bin, but when I add it to my app and test it in embedded mode, I get even more errors, but it still gives me the result...output below:

  • J2me and java card, need help to communicate

    we are trying to put together a reader to read smartcards using j2me and we figure that it would be easiest if we could develop it to work with java cards rather than standard smart cards, the problem is we get garbage when we communicate to it, the chip sends us crap, any suggestions what might be wrong, any calls we might be missing, has anyone worked with j2me and java cards or smart cards, any help would be appreciated.

    .... reader app and the ME behind it .... smells like mobile ....
    First of all - if you want to have one mobile application running on this just make sure that whatever is written in ME can use drivers from the reader chip ....
    Workin on the PC is something completely different. There was one good example how to develop one host application in Java provided with the JCOP tools long ago ... I don't know if this is now in the new Eclipse tools.
    But - there was a small API provided that can give you good hints what to do - and - once you have it on the reader side - you can easily integrate ME methods with this ...
