    We have the inventory and helpdesk features working within Spice Works.  However, I am unable to edit or add an content to the Helpdesk Dashboard.  I have review the setting without success.  Additionally, our inventory dashboard works perfectly and does allow for editing and adding content.  Does anyone have suggestions and/or clues.

  • Navigation is Horrendous - Customization? Nacbar Redesign

    After working with Spiceworks, being a Web Developer, I've got to say the Navigation is not well thought out.  I see similar complaints and then found the "Navbar Redesign" App.  I know it says it doesn't work on the HelpDesk Dashboard but my question is, where DOES it work? 
    Only place I see it work is the App settings page! (/settings/apps)  Open a ticket, it's gone, open Knowledge Base, it's gone.  So I guess that was a FAIL.
    What I'm thinking of doing is putting Spiceworks in an iframe so I can add my own nav links up top.  Anyone else done anything like this?

  • Help Desk Dashboard

    Hello CSC
    We are trying to enable our HelpDesk to use LMs on a daily basis but in order to do that we would like to give them access only to some dashboards and not to all the dashboards that their role gives them access.
    I am sure we are not the first ones to try this and therefore I would like to hear about possible solutions and experiences.
    PS:Role mangement is done and added to the different local users.

    If you value honest feedback, here's mine. The new version (I'm sorry) is kinda awful. The changes are without merit and seem arbitrary and have broken our established workflow (that's a bad thing). Main dashboard page does not have a menu item for helpesk...I had to add the ticketwidget and click help desk on that instead of it being readily on the top of the page when I open Spiceworks (the main reason I open Spiceworks every dayis missing from the main page?? What possible reason for that could there be?)Also took me an long time to find where to select "mine, open, closed," etc...and I don't see a ticket count visible, IE 92 open tickets, 3 unassigned, etc....maybe it's there...I dunno. I feel like I'm looking at a moiré pattern with random text sprayed all over it. The update is bewildering at best with the shadow, half references...

  • LMS 4.2 - can I make a default dashboard per individual user?

    I have created a very restrictive role to allow a team of helpdesk people to access Ciscoview read-only. Because of the restrictive nature of their role, the current default dashboard shows errors in every window - which is to be expected.
    I want to present them with a customized dashboard just for this one user - that is either blank, or has a very limited display - but is not an error screen.
    I have found that this cannot be done with LMS 4.1. Does 4.2.4 allow this?

    in LMS 4.2.x you can have a Public Dashboard which is viewable to all users. You can add or modify portlets or dashboards from the public dashboard list. Public dashboards can be accessed by all users.

  • Manager Heirarchy is not getting displayed in P&L Dashboard

    Hi All,
    I have implemented the P&L Dashboard for Financials. Suddenly, It is not displaying the Manager Heirarchy in the Manager Parameter in the P&L Dashboard.
    Did anyone faced the same kind of problem, please throw some light.

  • NULL and Unspecified in Dashboard prompts after upgrading 10g to 11g OBIEE

    Hi All,
    We are working on OBI upgradation project from 10g to 11.1.1.6.5. We are facing one issue in Dashboard prompt level. If we can create Dashboard prompt on a column, its giving "NULL", "Unspecified" additionally. But, in 10g there are no extra values.
    And the 10g, 11g instances are pointing to the same database and there are no NULL, Unspecified values in Database level.
    Through some blogs and articles we found some solutions n are below.
    To remove NULL:
    -->Go to the Physical Column properties in Physical Layer and Disable the Nullable option by uncheck the box.
    -->Go to the Database Features in Physical Layer and disable value to NULL_SUPPORTED.
    -->Go to Edit Dashboard Prompt, in Choice List Values drop-down list select SQL Results.
    To remove Unspecified:
    -->Go to Edit Dashboard Prompt, in Choice List Values drop-down list select SQL Results, then write the SQL statements as columnname is not equals to "Unspecfied" ( In this way we can able to remove Null's also.)
    -->Go to Content tab of LTS, in Where clause write an SQL query to restrict Unspecified values.
    Note: CHeck with ETL, because if they maintains the Default value is Null when the Datatype is Character and they can maintain 9999 or #### if the datatype is Numeric. And check the Physical query and debug it carefully.
    But, we have very big Repository and we have huge no.of Dashboard prompts. So, its not an easy thing to manage by using above solutions. Correct me if there are any mistakes in above.
    Any ideas on this...?

    As of now, i found the only solution for the above mentioned issue that how to avoid NULL in dashboard prompt level:
    Go to the Physical Column properties in Physical Layer and Disable the Nullable option by uncheck the box.
    We have done this manually for all tables.

  • I am trying to connect Dashboard shared variables to a server on a different subnet. Any ideas?

    My goal is to control a device that is connected to our wired network using an Android tablet via Dashboard.  I have created a vi with shared variables that controls the device as expected when it runs on a computer that is connected to the same wired network.  The problem is that my Android tablet running the Dashboard app cannot connect to the shared variables on the PC running the vi on the wired network.
    Our wireless network is on a separate subnet from our wired network.  I am able to ping my Android tablet from the PC on the wired network but when I try to connect a variable in Dashboard, the PC running the SVE cannot be found.  I tried listing it in the alternative server settings window and it still did not work.  The only way I have been able to get around this is to run the vi which launches the server on a laptop that is connected to the wireless network and the wired network at the same time.  My tablet can then find the server and my VI can connect to the instrument that is connected to the wired network.  The laptop is somehow acting as a bridge between the subnets.  I need to find a way for the Dashboard app to connect directly to the PC on the wired network.  My PC IP address is 192.168.0.105.  My Android IP address is 192.168.10.93.

    Data Dashboard doesn't care about subnets, but it has to be able to access the server using the right ports. There is probably a firewall blocking the shared variable ports. This document explains how to configure a firewall to allow shared variables to be accessed. Your challenge will probably be to figure out where the firewall is and how to configure it.
    It is also possible that the router that your Android device is connected to doesn't know how to route to the other network. Again, that is an issue with your router that you need to resolve.

    My dashboard is the default dashboard appearing to the users. If I will have to remove this and set another dashboard as default, what is the option
    I would like to the usage procedure for the personalized option on Delivers(IBots)

  • 500 Internal Server error for a single report in a dashboard

    Hi All,
    I had an issue with a report in a dashboard i.e.., In a dashboard a report is prepared by using the opaque view. When I ran the report in a dashboard it ran for about 15 to 20 mins and the report is excuted with the data. Now I tried to downlaod the data for that particular report into the excel sheet by using the option Download to Excel. At this stage after 5 mins I am facing the Internal serevr error. But strange behaviour is that it downloads sometimes and sometimes it does'nt. One more important thing is that I tested the query in backend and it took around 6 to 7 mins to fetch the data. The total no of rows for the query is only 166. So can anyone please give me some suggestions or we can have a discussion as this report is behaving strangely. One more thing I forgot to mention is that they used session variables as parameters in the query for two fields which they used in the opaque view to build that report.

    I have been going through the guidelines and procedures to create a presentation variable to use it in the dashboard prompt ( mentioned in the previous blogs ) .I followed the below link :

    But i have one more doubt i.e if have created the Presentation variable in the dashboard prompt and I want to use it in a report
    i.e the scenario is If I have created a new column i.e " Revised Salary " in the Presentation Services and want the values to be entered there dynamically upon end users choice. For ex the end user selecrts value of 1 then the report would display an increament of 500 to all the employees in the " Revised Salary " column and if the end user select value of 2 .. the report would display a decrement of 500 in the " Revised salary column".
    I am getting the following error :

  • LO 02010 / LO 26631 error while embedding a crystal report in a Dashboard

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to embed a crystal report in a Dashboard Design using LiveOffice 4, and i am getting the below error.
    "An error occurred while opening the report. The report does not exist; you have insufficient rights to open the report; or you cannot make a connection to the BusinessObjects Web Service. (LO 02010)" and "Crystal Reports Java Format is not supported. (LO 26631)"
    I am logging in as an administrator and the report does exist in the CMC.

    We did a upgrade from BOBJ 3.1 to 4.0 recently, and need to migrate the existing dashboards. DB connections to the reports have changed, hence the need to embed the migrated reports to the dashboard.
    Yes, I get this error when i try to embed a crystal report in dashboard. I do get the same error when trying to embed a WEBi report too. As you suggested, i tried inserting a sample crystal report, and that inserts like a charm.

    i try to create a new Analysis in OBIEE 11g in (brower: ie,Google chrome, Mozila), i got the error "*unterminated string literal*" and "*Exception at function updateSelectionsPanel: unterminated string literal*".
    and i try to create a new Dashboard Prompt using column prompt when i select the column i don't get the filter form and not to be add the column prompt in the Dashboard Prompt.

  • Conditional show error in dashboard In OBIEE 11g

    Hi Gurus,
    I I have a dashboard prompt which is a radio button containing Month & Quarter. Also have 2 other prompts like DP_Month which will show months(201301,201302 ...) and DP_quarter which will show(2013Q1,2013Q2..). This 2 prompts will show conditionally based on based on 1st prompt selection(like Month or quarter) which is working properly.
    Suppose when I click Month I m getting 2nd month prompt and changed to Quarter and getting Quarter prompt..But when I move to 2nd page  Quarter prompt is selected but Month dropdown  is showing.
    Please suggest..

    Is there any limit of values to extract in Dashboard prompt? i.e. when you use drop down list as Dashboard prompt, is there any limit of values to extract from database?
    In my local environment (instanceconfig.xml), there is limit of Rows to View and Download set to 20K, however I did not see anything related to the Dashboard Prompt.

    We have upgraded obiee from 10g to 11g and finding issues with javascript in a dashboard.
    Functionality: There are some custom labels showing prompt values in it with large font. When user change prompt value and Apply, it should change the value of those text as well.
    In 10g its running fine, but in 11g its not happening after we change the value of prompts. I found the following Javascript is responsible for this functionality. Even I saw one thread to suggest the exactly same code, but in 10g.

    In 10g these are the html objects, after upgrade you need to know the html objects for that report based on that you need to modify javascript code.
    From given code, activity is doing on these objects; You need to find out the equivalent object name for 'GFPSubmit' in 11g.
