Have you failed to regularly backup the device to iTunes or iCloud? If so, the data is gone.

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click: File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

Great News for Java Game Developers!

Finally, a complete game engine is being developed for Java! Mind2Machine is developing a genre-neutral game engine that goes way beyond a simple 3D Library.
The engine is called: OpenMind Alpha v0.7 and includes many useful game programming libraries. Say goodby to C++ and complicated engine builds/API's.
Mind2Machine is currently working on OpenMind v1.0 and they need experienced Java programmers to help develop new items. There are a lot of libraries on the drawing board, here are just a few:
-Java Physics engine
-All purposes particle system
-Collision detection
-And much more...
OpenMind is open source and is developed under the LGPL license.

I got openmind, and started to install it... and then 20 minutes later I realized I hadn't really gotten anywhere and I had to download other software just so that I could install the rest of it, and that software had its own set of bogus instructions... so I got pissed and closed it all :P

JDeveloper - problems with Tutorial for Java EE Developers

I am trying to start learning Oracle J2EE technologies, and I am using the Oracle "Tutorial for Java EE Developers (10.1.3.1.0)" listed in the Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3) page: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/how_to/index.html.
I am having problems in chapter 2, at the creating EJB 3.0 Persistence Entities stage, when using the Create Entities from Tables Wizard. Basically, when I select all the tables from the SRDEMO schema and attempt to create the Java classes, only the first table objects are created - ExpertiseAreas.java and ExpertiseAreasPK.java. I do not get any error messages, so I am not sure why the other table objects are not created.
If I then use the Wizard to select tables individually, the objects are created. However, they appear to be missing some details - specifically the @OneToMany annotation.
Has anyone encountered this same issue, or are there any known issues with this tutorial.
I am using version 10.1.3.4 of JDeveloper, on a 10g (10.2) XE database. I installed the version of JDeveloper without JDK included. I have a Sun Java EE 5 SDK Udate 5 (JDK 6u7) install of JDK.

I understand that the developers would be busy making incredibly cool software right now, but i do beg that you improve the shuffle mode by making it more random! I put foward that you could take the shuffle generator and edit the algorithm to include the computers given time. By doing this, you will have generated a more random shuffle mode, which ALOT of people have noticed is pretty fixed - play a certain track, skip through as many tracks as you like, noting them down. Do it again, same tracks - No good.
All due respect, but for something so inherently simple, it cant cause too much grief.
Alternatively though, you could use background radiation and radioactive decay to generate your random numbers. Just dont ask me to put uranium in my laptop :P

As I understand it, computers aren't capable of true random generation, only pseudo-random. Also, the way the iPod handles playlists makes things seem even less random. When you select a playlist on shuffle, the iPod (or iTunes)effectively generates an order of play. As I understand it, until you navigate out of the playlist, that order stands.
Also, the human brain has trouble with "random". Our brains are designed to look for patterns. We see them even when they're not there or not intentional (Mother Theresa on a grilled cheese sandwich, anyone?).
So, I think the short answer is that it would probably more work that the result would justify to make it more random that it is.

Any way to increase the default Heap size for all Java VMs in Solaris 8

I have a java product that deals with large databases under Solaris 8. It is a jar file, started by a cron job every night. Some nights it will fail because it runs out of Heap memory depending on the amount of records it has to deal with. I know that I could increase the java VM heap size with "java -jar -mx YY JARFILE" command but I have other java products that are showing the same behavior, and I would like to correct them all in one shot if possible.
What I would like to do is find a system or configuration parameter that forces all Java VMs to use a larger MAX Heap size than the default 16M specified in the Man page for Java. Is there a way to accomplish that?

I think there are a bug with Java,
but some keys of my French keyboard doesn't work with ALL Java APPS (Solaris Management console...), but work fine with all other apps.
When I use Xsun, there are no problem, all keys work, but with Xorg, some keys doesn't work. (Only in Java Apps).
I had got this bug with Sun Solaris 10 and Sun Solaris 11 (6/05 Express)
This is a very nasty bug, I have got a PS/2 keyboard.

2) Those words are 'Java', 'API' and 'I' (which is always upper case).

All the access points have the same SSID. I did try deleting the network and rejoining, however, I don't think it properly "forgot" all the settings when I did that. I haven't yet taken the time to try to delete the network more thoroughly. I'm still turning off airport, carrying the laptop to within a few feet of the access point I want to join, and turning airport back on, on an almost daily basis.

If you're looking in the settings for Safari, that's JavaScript, which despite the similarity in names is completely different from Java. Java is not, never has been, and all indications are never will be supported in iOS. I have no idea what "java neo" might be, but I've never seen Java mentioned in any way in any of Apple's iPad ads.
