HH2 bt infinity and windows 8 Wifi does not have a...
Hello I bought windows 8 in January and upgraded an old Dell xps m1730 laptop, however after 4 or 5 months the laptop lost all it's wireless connection to the HH. I rang Bt help and eventually was told that it was a fault with my Laptop, after playing around with ip settings I eventually got the laptop to connect by using a static ip address in my list of IP's. Yesterday I bought a brand new laptop for my daughter, an HP Envy M6 i5, and during the setup process I entered my wireless details, and I could not believe it,there was the same message Wifi does not have a valid wifi configuration, i tried using ip config renew, flush, switched off the firewall,switched of the HomeHub and the Openreach boxes to no avail, i have now setup this pc using a static ip address. As like most people these days i have a lot of wifi devices in the house, including 3 Macbook's, iphone's,blackberry's, also a windows 7 pc, everything connects flawlessly, Just not Windows 8, Can you prompt me in the right direction to fix this problem?
That's a pity! I was going to suggest using the Windows connection rather than the HP one to see if it connected without problem.
I don't think there is a general problem with Windows 8 not connecting to Infinity otherwise I'm sure there would be more posts about it on this forum.
I usually suggest a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the red recess button for about 20 seconds to sort out configuration settings on the Hub but if you were to do this you would need to set up your fixed IP address again if it didn't sort the problem. It might be worth a try if you can be bothered.
Other than that I can't think what else to try for the moment.

I'm updating from 4 not 5 and under General it does not have a Software Update option. How do i update ???
To update the iOS to 5.1.1 from iOS version end prior to iOS 5 you must connect the iPad to a computer running iTunes.
Start iTunes on the computer, connect the iPad, select the iPad in iTunes on the computer. If you are not automatically prompted to update select the General or Summary tab and then click on Check for Updates. -
My screen refuses to rotate (the home screen). I already double clicked home button and scrolled over, the circle arrow does NOT have the lock inside it. I went thru all the settings and can find nothing to try and fix this. Do I need to send the phone back? Is it broken? I just got it yesterday. It has not been damaged in any way. Please help.

Patricl, please answer Russ's question; and fear not, deleting or installing a version of FCP X does not delete or move any of your media or projects.
If the trial was from an older version (10.0.x), there is a necessary update procedure. 10.1.x uses libraries to organize your content, and the older stuff must be converted to the new organizational scheme, but it is well worth it. -
On other computer, w/Vista, Windows Mail, clicking Send Link works perfectly, providing one click hyperlink. Running latest Firefox on both computers. Made Windows Live Mail default email. No help. Uninstalled Windows Live Mail and switched to thunderbird, made default. Didn't work.
I'm searching for a solution as well.
For now, when the compose message windows opens with the plain text link, I just click anywhere in the body of the message below the text. This will place the cursor at the end of the link. I then hit Enter, and the hyperlink becomes active. -
D6160 and Windows 7 RC "Does not Work"
Hello everyone, my printer is the HP D6160 Photosmart
I connected the printer with my usb cable to my computer, Windows 7 automatically found the HP Printer and installed drivers, but everytime I tried to print something it didn't start. I installed other drivers (6160 exactly) and tried again but I got exactly the same problem again. I also tried to install the drivers in compatibly mode (Vista e.g.) and it also didn't work.Sorry for my english, I am a german dude, but I would gladly thank everyone who could help me, Thanks in advance!have the same problem. In the device manager from Windows 7 there appears an entry "Other Devices - HP Device"with a question mark. That might be the problem but how can we resolve this?

Hi Yes you can use the same address as on the laptop. iTunes will then show purchases you have made and you will be able to download them.

This system has 2 video cards. A new nVidia Quadra 4000 and an older BlackMagic DeckLink Extreme 3D+. I would like After Effects to use only the nVidia card so I can take advantage of CUDA. Is there a preference I can set so that AE only uses the nVidia card?

I tried your menus and my bookmark menu does not have everything that is in your article. Help!
I tried to follow one of the articles on creating folders in the bookmarks menu and there are elements in my menu that are missing, such as creating folders. Plus because these are missing other menus in the bookmarks have links that are grayed out
If either of the buttons are broken there is no way to recover from a forgotten unlock code.
Correction: If you have previously backed up your phone to iTunes on your computer you can connect the phone to your computer and click the Restore iPhone button. This will reinstall iOS and remove the passcode.
