Hi Itech,
If Cisco Jabber has a webapp, or mobile version of their website available, you should technically be able to access it through Firefox OS.
You may also search Firefox Marketplace for an alternative solution:

  • How to choose Cisco Prime NCS

    Dear Cisco Team,
I would like to know what are the main facts to choose Cisco Prime NCS.
And how many kind of monitoring system are there in Cisco.
    Best Regards,
    Thet Htar

    Hi Thet,
Cisco Prime Infrastructure simplifies the management of wireless and wired networks. It offers Day 0 and 1 provisioning, as well as Day N assurance from the branch to the data center. We call it One Management. With this single view and point of control, you can reap the benefits of One Management across both network and compute.
Prime Infrastructure enables you to configure and monitor one or more controllers, switches and associated access points. Prime Infrastructure includes the same configuration, performance monitoring, security, fault management, and accounting options used at the controller level and adds a graphical view of multiple controllers and managed access points.
Read the below link  for more detail::
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/prime_infrastructure/1-2/configuration/guide/pi_12_cg/ovr.html
You can download it from here and use it under evaluation period for testing::

  • Cisco CME licensing

                       Hello Cisco Team
I am planning to install 20 ip phones 7942 and 5 ip Communicators but I got some doubts in licensing,
    First
What is the difference between FL-CME-SRST-25 and SW-CCME-UL-7942, do I have to buy both?
Can I take 5 licenses from FL-CME-SRST-25 to install 5 ip communicators?
    Hope you can help me
    Regards

    Hi Hugo,
SW-CCME-UL-7942 is the IP phone CME license for 7942 model  while  FL-CME-SRST-25 is feature license of SRST and is for 25 seats.
for IP Communicator , u need to have separate licenses.Part Code would be  SW-CCME-UL-IPCOMM= [you can get the same checked by Cisco AM]
    All licenses are paper based.

  • Cisco 8841 support for 3rd party call control

    Hi Cisco Team,
What is required to get Cisco 8841 IP phone configured as a SIP phone for 3rd party call control?

    Hi,
This information would be dependent on which third party you are integrating with, they should provide details of settings needed for the same. For supporting third party SIP endpoints with Cisco there are numerous docs / posts , but in your case the scenario is  reverse.

  • Firmwareänderung CISCO SPA5xxG Framefilterung

    Hallo liebes Cisco Team,

    Funktioniert:

  • Big Thanks to the CCA Dev Team

    Hi Cisco Team,
I wish to give my heart felt thanks to the CCA dev team for the latest version (3.2.1), out of the many CCA's I have used over the years this has to be the best revision thus far.
In short I had to do a complete overhaul of a UC-520 last night from its original configuration which was done using "CCC" which was part of an Early Fields Trial test, the system was in a very aged state and in desperate need of the overhaul. CCA managed to upgrade both the CME and CUE with no troubles, which for me has been the first time this has been achievable, in fact when you press the "F2" command to review what's taking place, I noticed that its error handling is significantly improved over previous versions.
I cannot imagine the time and effort that was put into bringing this version to market, but it certainly has improved the ability to rebuild a system from scratch without major drama, what was more impressive is that it allowed an upgrade of the CUE from version 3.2 to 8.1.6.3 without incremental upgrade procedures which I have had to do multiple times in the past... This alone is worthy of praise
The only trouble I had was with the 7941/7961 phones, many of them would not upgrade due to their firmware version, all the 7965/7970 phones upgraded happily even though their firmwars were pretty much original manufacturers... I do however have two phones that are in a semi bricked state now due to this firmware issue, and am not sure how I am going to recover them from this state, but I do know they require a firmware upgrade to recover them.
So any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers,
    David Trad.

    Hello David,
Please goto the downloads section of the respective phone and grab the lowest most probably for
    7970 - SCCP software Release 6.0(3)_SR1 cmterm-7970_7971-sccp-6-0-3SR1.ZIPfile.
    For 7965 SCCP software Release 8.3(2) - cmterm-7945_7965-sccp.8-3-2.zip.
    For the 7941/7961 SCCP Release 7.0(2) - cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.7-0-2.zip.
    If 7941/61 are 7941/61G-GE - Release 8.2(2)_SR4 - cmterm-7941_7961-sccp.8-2-2SR4.zip
When you get the files if you wish to use the CCA, just delete the phone loads from maitenance->phone load management. Then drag and drop the zip files on the UC to add the new phone load. After successfull upgrade to the uppper metioned version of the phones which could not be updated prevoiusly just remove these fimwares and add the shipped with software pack versions of the latest ones.

  • [sce8000 web filtering / parental controls]

    Hi, All:
In a couple of Cisco URLs it says that the SCE8000 integrates with Websense (and AdvancedMobile) to support url filtering and parental controls. See here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/ps7045/ps6129/ps6257/ps6135/white_paper_c11-606444.html
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps7045/ps6129/ps6133/ps9591/siminn_cs.pdf
Can you please confirm this is true and tell me exactly which Websebse product is supported? is it websense web filter or websense web security?
I contacted a Websebse rep yesterday and they are not aware of being able to integrate with the sce8000 and don't know the product that integrates with the sce8000.on the web i found mentions of websense CPA and the sce8000 , which websense tells me is a completely different product than web filter or web security.
    please advice,
    c.

    Carlos,
I'm not sure whether websense has declared EoS for CPA, but better contact following Knepher, Jonathan [mailto:[email protected]
further contact your local cisco team, as there were plans of Cisco Business unit to integrate SCE with Cisco WSA for content filtering, further you can also look for bright cloud webroot solution as there were plans to integrate this with SCE8K by end of this quarter.

  • Global Web Filtering Options

I am looking for a global web filtering solution for our business but am having trouble finding a solution that will work acceptably for us globally.
The problem is that our campany has hundreds of very small offices (mostly only 2-3 users with the odd larger office) located in remote locations all around the world where WAN links are very expensive and slow.
We use all small office type cisco routers in our remote offices of various types (such as 800 series) and are rolling out WAAS/WAVE solutions to optimise our slow WAN links as much as possible, and all sites have site-to-site VPNs from the routers to our UK-based data centres.
Currently we use Websense configured on the local routers at a few of our offices with a regional server in places such as the UK for most of Europe, and Mobile for most of the US for example.
We could expand this to all locations, including Australasia, Middle East, Far East and Africa etc. but due to the remote locations we would need many local servers in many countries as the infrastructure to have just one regional Websense server isn't good enough in these areas and web performance would be too slow to be useable due to the latency to the Websense server location. It simply isn't financially feasible to put in hundreds of servers at lots of 2-3 man offices in the middle of no-where so I've been looking at other options.
I was hoping a hosted solution would be the answer, but I've looked at WebSense's hosted service and it doen't appear to cover all regions (just has server farms in US/Europe which is no good for Africa etc.) I've also looked at Symantec MessageLabs but this has the same problem as there is no coverage in the Middle East/Asia/Africa etc and it proxies all web traffic so performance at these sites would probably be appaling with the limited bandwidth on top of the latency to the closest MessageLabs servers.
I've now seen that Cisco have a new IOS Content Filter which uses Trend database servers. This sounded promising as it appears to cache the URL checks on the router making the server location less of an issue. But I'd still like to know where in the world they cover (I've seen reference to only 4 data centres globally). My other concern with this solution is whether it integrates into AD, so we can apply policies based on the user accounts like we do currently with the WebSense solution. The last thing is the price of this solution as it appears to be licensed based on the number of routers rather than the number of users. As our users are so spread out with only 2-3 users per router on average this is likely to mean for us this solution will be ridiculously expensive, can anyone advise if this is the case?
My question therefore is can anyone advise on a solution for this that will work with our Cisco infrastructure in all our offices without having to purchase lots of servers for remote locations? I've seen that other vendors such as the Astaro Security Gateway have web filtering built into their products without the need for external servers, but I'd prefer to stick with Cisco if at all possible.
Many thanks for any advice/help anyone can give me in this area.
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
IOS Content filtering is licensed on a per router basis, you are right. So, probably that would not scale for you.
Cisco has other solutions with Web Filtering and Ironport engines. The challenge in your setup is that each remote site would need to "call" to a central web filtering location that will be making the decision on allowing or no. Or you would need a service that scales well on a per contintent basis. There are some new Cisco web filtering options that could scale with servers almost everywhere in the world. But I don't think you can get a consice answer from this forum about your potential choices here.
You local Cisco team will be able to provide you with these options. You are welcome to give them my email if they need to talk to me internally.
I hope it helps a little.

  • HD Voice - Lack of Support

    Guys,
One of the advantages of the SPA5xx series of phones is that it supports G722 HD Voice, why is this not being supported as part of the standard config for the UC320, this also translates to the SIP trunk side as well, I would have thought that Cisco would want to promote the use of the superior Voice quality that is G722, In our network environment we are actively promoting the virtues of G722 and see this is a bit of a limitation without it, I would to see this as a configurable option to be used with the system so if not supported it could be diabled but I think it limits Network deployments if we don't have that option.
Can you advise as to what the status will be for G722
    Regards
    Phil Moore

    Hi Phil,
This is a good question one I look forward to the Cisco team answering
Although I am aware of the lack of G.722 support by the ITSP's in the market place today, they still only like to support the G.729/uLaw/aLaw/ and from time to time the G.723 if they are tight and lack the pipes for higher bandwidth Codecs.
Plus also I would imagine that the G.722 implementation is a Cisco modified one, which would mean they would need to release this or license it out, the Open to Market implementation of Wide Band G.722 has not been touched in over 7 years, and I am not sure of who has a royalty based one either.
But still it is a good question and it would be good to know if they can just include the Codec in the system in the off chance the ITSP will support it, also keep in mind the less transcoding that needs to be done the better for the system performance, if you want to run G.722 on the phones in the office, but yet it needs to transcode on the out-bound calls it might put more strain on the tiny unit
    Cheers,
    David.

  • New features for uc320

    Dear Cisco-Team,
There are already some threads open regarding the implementation of new features. Some of them are maybe not more actual, so I open a new discussion to have hopefully answers on the following feature requests:
PPTP-Implementation: It's still not possible to get PPTP running with the UC320. (Teleworker)
Remote-Phones: It's still not possible to connect SPA phones remotely to UC320
Dial-Plan: With the new firmware 2.3.2 (6) there was one great improvement: "Return Call without Edit Dial". But it doesn't work for Austria.
"Enhanced Caller ID Directory Mapping" - also new in version 2.3.2 - but doesn't work.
soft-phone: annouced many times and since years. promised by Cisco. Still not implemented.
I hope that someone from Cisco can give me a qualified answer incl. a timeline!!!
    Greeting from Austria.
    Matthias

This is not very reassuring as to the future, and Cisco's commitment, to this platform, as these features (teleworker, softphone, wireless portable phone, etc.) have previously been touted as "on the roadmap". Being "on the roadmap" and being "re-evaluated" are different objectives.
It appears that the UC320 is just a repackaging of the SPA-9000 + the SPA-400 without the ability to use the SPA9xx phones. What a disapointment and missed opportunity for Cisco.
"The teleworker and softphone features mentioned in the posting above are  been re-evaluated by the team. There is no commitment yet on these  features."

  • Advice on upgrading ASA 5510 from version 8.4(4)1

    Hello all,
Due to an issue we need to upgrade our ASA. Cisco Support team recommended upgrading to version 8.4.7, but, as we'll upgrade, we'd like to upgrade to version 9.
We still use Cisco VPN Client for Remote Access VPNs so I'd like your advice on which version to install on ASA.
Would you recommend version 9.0.3? 9.1.X?
    Thanks in advance,
    Igor

We have a pretty huge ASA and ASASM complex, and we are just about finished upgrading from an assortment of 8.4.x, 8.5.x, and 8.6.x installs to 9.1.3 on everything. There is one gotcha on some systems in that there is a file system change or some sort of bug that is fixed in 8.4.5 I think. So you _may_ have to first upgrade to a newer version (8.4.7 would work) before going to 9.1.3.
Our Cisco team has recommended going to version 9.x, and this is supported by recent tickets I've had on our stuff still running on 8.x, as the TAC engineer often says we need to upgrade to version 9.
Four our setup, we had some fatal bugs in 8.4.6 and 8.4.7 that kept us running 8.4.5 for a very long time on some equipment.
Anyway, I would recommend going to 9.1.3, which is one removed from the recently recleased 9.1.4. Our AnyConnect VPN complex has been on 9.1.3 for a few months now with no issues. Be sure to read the release notes thoroughly as 9.x changes some command contexts, new features, etc.

  • Add log entries to an emailed alerts

Is there any way to add the logs entries that is included in a report/incident in an emailed alert. In other words, instead of just having the link to the mars emailed in the alert, have the actual data that the user will see once they enter the mars.

I have been working on this one for a few months now. Out of the box, no, there is not. There was a feature request added into 6.0.3 that was supposed to add this functionality but it got left out because it was going to be a lot of work. I have opened a new case with TAC (611170537) and the guy confirmed that the engineers added some data to the email alerts that was already being processed and wouldnt need much additional coding.
I have filed a new feature request with my local Cisco team but I do not know the bug id yet. Basically what i want is the ability to create an email template which will have the ability to include variables in the email, so the raw message or matched event ID can be included. I was told by the guy at TAC that when he brought up this idea to the developers, they werent too excited because it seemed like a lot of work and there didnt seem to be a business case for it. So if anyone wants to see this feature added, please contact your local account team and include my latest case #. I will include the bug id once I get one. The only way to get this feature added is to request it.
