I have a Mac os version 10.6.8. When I try and update my itunes on the computer it shows that this type of computer is okay to be part of the update. When I update it, it will show that the update is complete. I restart the computer and then reopen itunes and it says the same thing, and when I go to see what version it is it is still the 11.0. Please help I have no idea what else to do

My iphone 4 is taking forever to sync...I let it sync all night and only completed about 1/4 of of the songs downloaded. Apps seem to be fine. I have tried restoring it and that didn't do anything. Can someone please help?
how many songs are syncing cuz i only have at most 200 or so and it takes a while so it might be how many songs are syncing to the device

Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

SOLUTION:
Iam pointing t0 windows7 os.
1) go to control panel
2) open hardware and sound
3) In that open Devices and printers
4)In that u can find Apple Iphone.
5) now right click on this --> Hardware --> Properties --> General --> Uninstall --> ok.
6) now unplug and plug in ur iphone again.There u go u iphone name changes to its original name.I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems. -

If it says 'Open' in the App Store, then it's on your device. What happens when you press the 'Open' button in the App Store?
The App is on your phone, somewhere. Use Spotlight to find it, or you can reset your Home Screen layout, and then you'll definitely find it. -

I am having the same problem with my new iPhone 5s since I installed the current software 8.1.2 yesterday after activating the phone at a Verizon store in Tucson, AZ. My zip code is 84745.
So far I have no battery problems, but that's probably because I have cellular off except when I need it. I am usually on WiFi at home/work as my old 4s was one of the phones that, after an earlier software upgrade, chewed data up for no reason. -

Didn't they already have you do that? If you haven't, yes, you should restore your phone as new and test.
