Hi, I recently got myself an apple iphone 5s (factory unlocked) phone from the US. However on using the same in India with Vodafone, i am facing a problem where the connectivity keeps switching to EDGE most of the time. Any solutions??

I recently got myself an apple iphone 5s (factory unlocked) phone from the US. However on using the same in India with Vodafone, i am facing a problem where the connectivity keeps switching to EDGE most of the time. I have a 3G plan but most of the time it switches automatically to EDGE. Thats when i have to either switch Airplane mode - On/Off and then it acts normal. Any permanant solutions to fix this problem?

Return the iPhone personally or via friend/relative/co-worker who is in
the US. The warranty is valid only in the country of original purchase - the USA
in this case. Apple will not accept international shipments for evaluation nor
will Apple ship out of the country after repair/replacement.
How did the iPhone from the US get to you in India? Reverse that process to
get it back to the US so someone can take it into Apple.

    Because I am having issues with Norton Security Suite with the upgrade to Firefox 4.0.1, I have been dealing with that as well, with no success to-date. However, I did notice today when I was looking in my trash, an interesting thing occurred with the upgrade that MAY have something to do with the apps. in Facebook not working correctly now with Firefox.
    In my trash, there are several folders of 'Recovered Files'. Two of them are loaded with Internet Plugins for Facebook and were all dumped on May 1st, the day I upgraded to v. 4.0.1 Firefox and began having all my problems. For example, they are plugins like: plugin-cross domain.xml, plugin-gateway-1.php, plugin-102452128776.gz-72.json, just to name a few of them. Now, I am wondering if they were inadvertently removed during the upgrade process, or if they are in conflict with the new upgrade. Should I put them all back into Library -->Internet Plug-Ins to see if that resolves the problems? There are so many of them, I wish there was a way to mark them in some fashion in case I would have to remove them and not take the wrong ones out! Maybe there is a way I can color code them before I move them. I hate using 2 browsers!
    I notice that 2 other people have this problem but I don't see where they left any post. I really wish Norton, Firefox, and Facebook would get this ironed out. I never had a problem with anything until this and I don't like to spend all my time trying to troubleshoot something I don't understand! Anyway, thanks for listening.

    According to this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937 All phone sold through official sources in the UAE are unlocked. As stated, though, They do not contain FaceTime and there is no way to add it. Other than that, it should work fine. Check the list above for supported carriers in India.

    I bought factory unlocked phone from my friend. He bought it from the apple store and used his o2 sim card with it.
    I am in spain and am trying my Movistar simcard (Which works on my unlocked Iphone 3g) but says "Invalid Sim Card"
    Is it possible for a factory unlocked phone to become sim locked?
    How can i sort this? Restore to factory settings on itunes maybe?
    Cant test on a uk network till next week when im back for a visit.

    Anything is possible, but this almost never happens to officially unlocked iPhones. I suspect your phone is in fact NOT officially unlocked.

    Does that mean it will work with att? I dont want to get the phone from att becuase i dont want a contract at the moemet, and i will be traveling out of the U.S this december for a month and i would like to use my iphone 5s there with service,
    I talked to a apple rep right before this and he said it will only work with T - Mobile because it says the sim is already installed,
    And i asked him if i can use it for att, and he said no because the iphone 5s doesnt have a simcard slot that you can take out like with the iphone 5
    which doesnt make sense because tmobile and att both run on sims.

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong (hopefully with some factual information via a weblink), but there is currently NO Factory Unlocked iPhone 5S for sale in the United States. Factory Unlocked (aka. "Sim-Free") is only offered for the 4S and 5C.
    All customers can purchase an iPhone 5S from Apple or respective carrier for the full retail price ($650+) and those devices will be internationally unlocked but locked to the carrier you pick.
    In my case, I purchased an AT&T iPhone 5C at full retail price. I did not sign a new contract, pay an upgrade fee, etc. My phone, when plugged into iTunes tells me it's Unlocked. Again, I don't have a T-Mobile Nano-Sim to test if it's fully unlocked (domestic & international) but it's safe to assume I will only be able to use my 5C in the USA with AT&T.
    Does this mean that the phone can never be fully unlocked? Probably not - I imagine all carriers and 3rd parties will be able to unlock the device (per-carrier terms, etc.).
    Hope this clears up any confusion.
    *Contract-Free T-Mobile is not fully unlocked either. T-Mobile no longer has contracts so Apple cannot present the T-Mobile version in the same space as the other carriers on their website. T-Mobile, like the other carriers, likely have the ability/option to fully unlock your device upon request (per-their carrier terms).

    You can not access the backup directly.
    Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
    If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
    If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
    Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
    What is it you are worried about losing that isn't already on your current device?

      Okay, I apologize, belay my last posting :/
      This evening after a whole day of working fine (again), I had the same problem, but this time my idea couldn't fix it.  One point I'd like to make is to NOT listen to your ears when troubshooting your ipod.  When your ipod is turning off, try tuning into the radio.  Mine tells me that it isn't recognizing my earbuds and won't even turn on the radio.  I'm going to try to clean the connection out, but really?  This is freakin' new, Apple people!  Maybe its a way for the company to make you purchase new accessories for the ipod they replaced with the recall :/

    Windows or apple it makes no difference, if you don't have the install discs you can't install.
    Did you buy the machine with Adobe (you don't say what adobe program you're talking about) installed? If so the vendor should have given you the discs or else it's technically a pirated copy. If you're talking about acrobat (which is free) then you should be able to find older versions on the adobe site.
