Hi there, putting movies in ipod classic.?

Hi all, Can anybody tell if it is possible to put movies or TV programs like Dora the explorer or Spongebob in the IPOD classic. I have them in the itunes library but i cannot transfer it to the ipod it self.
Thanks

Hey there,
You certainly can do this. First, make sure you have your iPod set to sync Movies. To do this, plug your iPod in and and when it appears in iTunes head over to the "Videos" tab and make it is set to sync all your videos or select ones of your choice.
Another thing to check is to make sure the videos are in the right format. To do this, right->click on the video and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version." Depending on the length of the video it may take anywhere from a few minutes to quite some time to convert it. Then try resyncing the video to your iPod. Hope this helps.
More on syncing videos can be found in the Apple document below.

  • How much physical movement is iPod Classic supposed to be able to endure?

I have the 120GB iPod Classic and I go out power walking, for about 45 min. to an hour at a time. I had been putting the iPod in the pocket of my gym shorts and I'm wondering if the jostling is causing a problem. I keep having to reformat the iPod, re-load all the music, re-set my settings to how I want them to be, which is a huge pain in the you-know-what. I only go out and do this about three times a week, but every time I do, the iPod quits working after 15 or 20 minutes, necessitating the complete restore. I don't know about you, but this seems unacceptable to me. I have tried holding the iPod in my hand while doing the power walk and so far I have not had to do a restore after three outings.
Is having the iPod in my pocket making for too much physical movement for the hard drive to function??? I'm not running, but I am fast-walking, like, race walking.

Hey, oliverwitthus, this is very interesting information!
I can't bring up diagnostic tests - how do you do that, exactly?
I pressed the center, select button and Menu, held for six seconds, which then brings up an screen with only the apple on it.
I tried at various times to press the center select button and rewind, while the apple was showing, after it went back to the normal iPod menu, short button press, held for a long time - I'm not getting the diagnostic menu. Are you sure that's how to get there? I really want to try this out but I'm not getting anything.
I did get the armband, and even with the armband,it still jiggles around too much. And mind you, I'm not running, just walking really fast. No up and down bouncing. It still crapped out on me and necessitated a restore. Now, I hold it in my hand as gently as possible while racewalking/powerwalking and it usually is okay, but it's far from reliable. What a crappy product!! This thing is only suitable for stationary use. At some point I'm going to get a solid state player of some kind and it may not be an iPod.

  • How do i put photos on ipod classic

want to know how i can put photos from my computer to my ipod classic.
i have tried just dragging them into the ipod folder but that didnt work.
so i tried making a new folder and put my photos in there but then when i went to put them on my ipod classic it told me the photos werent there.
    please HELP.
and there was no manual or cd that came with it, it came with a manual on how to put songs on but nothing else.

Connect your iPod to your iTunes Library and look on the iPod/Photos pane:
    and then...
Choose a folder on your computer from the drop-down menu I've ringed. Yoiu can only choose one folder, but all the photos and sub-folders in it will then be added to your iPod (you may need to press the Sync button).

  • Can't trasfer rented movie to iPod Classic

I can't transfer a rented movie onto my iPod Classic. It's definately an iPod Classic, not a 5th. Gen., and I've watched rented movies on it before. When I try to drag the rented movie onto the iPod in iTunes it says the movie won't transfer becuause it "cannot be played on this iPod". Any help?

Thanks for the response although I still can't get it to work.
Once I selected my iPod and then the movies tab under Rented Movies it says "There are no rented movies in your iTunes library that can be transferred to this iPod", even though the movie (Bruce Almighty) shows up in my library under the Rented Movies tab.

  • How to transfer movie to ipod classic? Other questions too

I have been using an ipod mini for ages, just gave it to my daughter and bought a 80gb ipod classic. When I set up sync movies, does it copy every movie from my movie folder to my ipod? It doesn't seem to work even I set it up properly. Can I copy movie manually? I have copied 2gb of music last night, this morning I plug my ipod to sync the address book, eject properly, the songs are gone! Photos are still there though. Do these ipods come in window format? In itune it shows window format, it makes me wonder, I only connect ipod to my macbook pro. Thanks!

Not if you choose to sync selected movies. There should be options for you when you choose to auto sync movies.
Do these ipods come in window format?
Yes. For quite a while now all new iPods come Windows formatted out of the box.

  • Getting movies onto iPod Classic

I have just bought an iPod Classic and thought it would be useful to download some movies on to it.
It seems really straight forward to do when you read the manual; however I don't seem to have a "Movies" section in my iTunes store. Is this unique to me or to the UK? Can anyone help me, please?

When you click on the "iTunes store" within iTunes, the front page doesnt have a categories section over on the left that's labeled "iTunes STORE"? It should list "Music, Movies, TV Shows, Music Videos, Audiobooks, Podcasts, iPod Games, iTunes Latino, iTunes U". There should be other sections on the main iTunes store page such as "Top Movies", "Top TV episodes", and "What's hot", etc., that all have some movie content in them.

  • Can you put music on iPod Classic without them being on your computer?

Hey, I have about 140GB of music on an external hard drive, and I have a new iPod Classic 160GB. My MacBook is only 120GB and a lot of it is used. Is there any way for me to put it on straight from my hard drive to the iPod with out it being on my computer?

The music needs to be in your iTunes library.
If your music is all in one folder on the external hard drive, you can point iTunes to this folder and have that be your new library. This option is in iTunes Preferences, under Advanced.
If you need clarification, let me know.

  • Cant put movie on ipod plz help

I put it successfully on itunes and it played, i converted the movie through videora, and into mp4 format but it wont go through itunes to my ipod plz help

Well, in anticipation of getting my 60GB iPod, I used programs such as ffmpegX and Handbrake to create about 5 feature length movies. All within the new iPod parameters, H.246, 320 x 240 max., 786kbps, etc. Apple's website says if it can play in iTunes, it can play on the iPod. Well, all these play in iTunes but when I try to put them on the iPod they say not a format that it recognizes. Currently, I am opening these movies in QT and using the "export to iPod" function. I assume this will work, but I don't understand why the other method isn't. Good luck.
