Hibernate vs ADF-BC for data stream capture/analysis application?

I don't know if there is a white paper on when to choose ADF-BC vs Hibernate and whether there's something similar vis-a-vis TopLink. Is EJB3 really just Hibernate writ large?
Any references?
We are dealing with large data volumes being captured, I think a key issue will be the effective harvesting of Java objects after loading windows of 250-1000 rows at a time. I know ADF-BC pools these objects, encouraging me that this will be a good way to work, but I don't know about the others.

Yes, for example in the facts section of my business rule, on the adf-bc tab, my sql server database connections won't be available, as I've mentioned here:
Business Rules:Non-oracle db connections not shown in the ADF-BC Facts sect
or there's that other issue with the pool connection which I've mentioned in this one:
pool connection issue with sql server database in adf application
or when a new table is added to the database, if one needs to create a new entity object from that, all the attributes must be created manually, or the whole app module needs to be recreated.
Now some of this is probably duo to my lack of enough knowledge, but I didn't have such problems when working with the adapter.

Somehow the person records for this person have become corrupted. Have you any idea how that might have happened? Options:
1) Someone or some program has issued a direct table update on per_all_people_f
2) Someone has used Help > Diagnostics > Examine to modify the data
3) An Oracle bug. This one is unlikely but could happen if using an unusual form (Shared Person Form, for example) and perform a weird combination of actions/keystrokes. But you'd need to be able to reproduce it if you want Oracle to fix it.
If you're support contract is invalid or you don't have a support contract your options are limited. You can either:
a) Bring your patch level up-to-date and then raise an SR. If Oracle agree to provide a script to fix it they'll probably just do direct table updates to resolve this record.
b) Fix this yourself using direct table updates. This obviously isn't supported either. If you do this, make sure you know what you're doing and get it 100% right first time. BE VERY CAREFUL!
Obviously I strongly recommend option b.

Data-streaming feature not available in eWay BatchSFTP

the entire file is never loaded in memory.");
I need to use BatchSFTP to transfer big files but with BatchSFTP data-streaming feature is not available (it is not reported into eway batch adapter user's guide);
can somebody give me a suggestion about how to use BatchSFTP to transfer big files without consume all system resources (the file is stored in memory using the payload element of BatchSFTP) ?
why data-streaming feature is not available for BatchSFTP ?

I'm trying to setup BatchSFTP and having trouble in setting up the key-file. What kind of file(s) is(are) excepted in the key-file directories specified in the external system properties?
I have tried a trusted_host file generated by a SSH client but get the following error:
Batch SFTP eWay connection failed, method=[connect()], message=[Exception when connect(), e=java.io.IOException: Invalid SSH1 public key format].

Meta data (song information) not updating in mini player for radio stream

I notice in the mini player view, the meta data does not update for radio streams. This is a big deal for me because I listen to radio stations all the time, and I don't want to have to switch between the mini player and full player to see the song information. This wasn't an issue in iTunes 10 (and previous versions as I recall), where I could just click to toggle between the name of the station and the meta information.

I understand your concerns, but regarding the headphone jack, this is standard procedure. While you may have checked these things, and know more about the player, a lot of people will not check the basic things before contacting support. The Advisors have to check these things with you first to make sure they've been checked.
As far as transferring data goes, it is true that unfortunately we cannot transfer data over for you or make a back-up. Doing this for all the returns for different players would require a lot of resources, time and money, making the RMA process a lot longer for everyone. In some cases, it's even necessary to replace the harddri've or the whole player.

i am not still able to make out even after the archivelogs are registered they are not done logmining by logminer.
Can you please help ,i am stuck up this situation.i have rebuild streams by completely removing the stream configuration and also dropped and recreated the strmadmin.

Perhaps I missed it in your post but I didn't see a version number or any information as to what form of Streams was implemented or how.
There are step-by-step instructions for debugging Streams applications at metalink. I would suggest you find the directions for your version and follow them.

The XY graph can be bound to a 1d array of "points", where each point is a cluster of two numerics (X and Y). To create a shared variable of this type, you can set the data type to "From Custom Control..." in the shared variable properties dialog. Of course, first you'll have to build the custom control of the correct type: array of cluster of two numerics.
If any of that doesn't make sense, please post back and we can walk you through it in more detail.
Also, just for completeness, the chart indicator can be bound to a scalar numeric or to an array of numerics. The graph indicator can only be bound to an array of numerics.

Which Stream Capture for best compression, smoothness, and best overall quality?

Quicktime + Soundflower - choppy but image quality is decent....Unfortunately Quicktime doesn't have any options for fixing those issues.
I just tried iShowU's demo, the playback isn't as choppy as quicktime that was include with my macbook pro, but the delays in recording video might get on my nerves at times. But I prefer not to try every stream capture software's demo out there for mac. I am guessing I will need a premium software....freebies' quality - I am guessing - will also be choppy?
So SnapzPRO or IShowU ??? Or is there better yet?

I use Snapz Pro and even though I've never used the video/audio function (I use ScreenFlow) it may be worth a try. You might also want to test either Amadeus Lite or Pro for audio only. I'm sure that there are a number of other apps out there, but for video/audio capture, I far prefer ScreenFlow.

Good for processing data from a web application?

It seems like all the examples provided for ASA are about processing data streaming in from IoT or mobile apps. Is ASA appropriate for processing data from websites? For example, I have a multi-tenant web API and I need to roll up usage and calculate billing
for my clients. My clients can upload resources with me which I store in blob storage. But blob storage gives me no way of knowing how many resources have been uploaded and how long I have stored them. Would ASA be a good fit for calculating these figures?

I have solved this task in folowing way:
I have add ADF read only form to my page (which I need anyway). The form displays data selected in the graph (using another VO, which is linked to graph VO). Command button calls my managed bean, which handles the data via the bindings executables (view iterators).

Data Streaming error in BPM workspace

Developed a BPM Process and ADF form with BPM 11g suite and deployed to Oracle weblogic Server 10.3. while we are fetching the data from DB into ADF form in the same Process we are getting the small amount of data but while fetching the large volume of data to that ADF form we are getting the popup like "Data streaming",
Could you please guide me to resolve this issue.

The streams capture reader slave will read the control file and it picks the first archive log destination it sees. You can not insist streams to read the archived logs from one specific archive destination, it just picks the first one it sees being the fact that all archived logs in all destination will be mirrored copies.
As already stated in the previous post, 9.2.0.1 is just the base release and you would have to upgrade it to atleast 9.2.0.3 (first stable version for streams) or 9.2.0.4 (for few platforms 9.2.0.3 does not exist). However if you are using 9iR2, I would suggest to upgrade it to 9.2.0.8 which is the terminal patchset for 9iR2 where majority of the bugs are fixed. Also on top of it you need to apply all the recommended one-off patches (which would be included in RDBMS bundle patches for Windows) as per Note:437838.1.

Database is configured for Data Guard

I am run a UTF8 conversion on a development database that has been cloned from Data Guard. There is a warning in Migration Status: "Database is configured for Data Guard" What is the DMU looking at to determine this? The database is open in read-write mode and it behaving like a primary database (I run the DMU scan and run updates to fix invalid representations). I would like to know what settings I need to update.
Is this preventing me from converting tables using CTAS? When I try to select this for all tables I get the message, "The DMU does not support the conversion method "Copy data using CREATE TABLE AS SELECT" for tables that are involved in an Oracle Streams process, like capture or apply. Use another available conversion method for the table"

The DMU checks if the parameter DG_BROKER_START is set to true.
The problem with CTAS is independent from Data Guard. The DMU checks for tables that:
- are source of asynchronous Streams capture, or
- have update conflict handlers, or
- have DML handlers, or
- have conflict resolution parameters
The above tables are considered configured for Oracle Streams and are not supported by CTAS conversion method. This is because the CTAS method creates a converted copy of the table and drops the original. The DMU is not capable of moving the Streams configuration information from the old table to the new one.

Suggestions for backing up captured video digitally

Hi all,
My church is using an Imac (2.4ghz/1gb ram) to capture video of our church sermons. We use a Panasonic GS-320 which runs through a WD MyBook 500 gb external HD then into the Imac. We capture in Imovie directly then let the video file sit. Our intent is to upload these videos to the net for later streaming and such. Our problem is that we have 13-15gb videos that just sit, and now both hardrives are full. We would like to render these huge files to something smaller for the purpose of archiving but have them at a resolution that is still editable and to also add in simple titles and such later on. Right now I'm rendering to .mov (mpeg 4) @ 720x480. Any suggestions?

Archiving a smaller file at full-resolution is a bit of a contradiction! Especially when you add that you may want to edit that file later. DV material is 13GB/hour is arguably already the lowest file size you want for archiving/editing later. Smaller files via different forms of compression are meant for delivery, not archiving and/or editing. With a mini-DV camera you have the best archiving option of all formats: the tape itself. You could even send an edited sequence back to tape. To date, tape has been the most robust and reliable solution for any type of archiving. Data tape back up systems are fairly expensive. After DV tape comes hard drive storage. I strongly recommend investigating a hard drive tower. I personally use a MacGurus (http://www.macgurus.com/productpages/firewire/burlyfwenclosure.php) but there are several manufacturers. The advantage to such a system is that as hard drives fill up, you just pop a new one in and store the "old" one. And buying bare bones drive will save money in the long run over always buying a new external drive. And hard drives are cheap/GB. Cheaper than other storage methods. And faster. And besides tape, the most reliable. From there is is a simple matter of cost analysis: if a sermon is one-hour then you could fit let's say 30 sermons on one 500GB drive. A 500GB is roughly $100. That is $3 and change/sermon.

Measuring audio parameters on data streamed via UDP

Hello,
I have the task of trying to measure some audio
parameters from multiple wave files that has been streamed over a
network using UDP.
I can capture the individual streams at the
UDP ports, but when I try to make a measurement on the data the
frequency not correct and I am having trouble scaling the data
vertically.
The data streams are different sampling rates and depths, 8Ks/S@16bit, 16Ks/S@16bit, 44.1Ks/S@24bit.
The data stream at the higher rate (44.1K) is closer to the expected value but still not correct.
I beleive I need to scale the data but cannot figure out how to parse it after I do a UDP read.
Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunatley I am stuck with the UDP format. Our product will not be connected to the"Net" so we are not very concerned with loosning any information. We just need to get it out of the box and to our test equipment.
I have reviewed all of my code and stimulas. Seems that the audio streaming utility I have been using (VLC) would automatically generate streams at 44.1Ks/S. There is a small, criptic setting that by default is turned off to be able to keep the original sample rate of the audio stream. By enabling this setting I am able to make some accurate SINAD, Freq, and THD+N measurements without the Sound and Vibration toolkit. I am now working on getting the vertical scaling correct so I can make a valid amplitude measurement.
The only thing I can see that the S&V toolkit would gives is some tailored graph and charting frequently used in the S&V business. It does nothing for capturing streams of audio and being able to easily decode the header information that is in a .wav file. This for me is pretty important.
Here is sample of my code. It is very crude and I am very new to LV. I have been a VB guy for the last 10 years. Istruggle alot with these icons and wires. It is very hard to follow the logic behind the samples when there are no comments to guide you.

Oracel B2B UI - Reports - "An unknown error occured during data streaming.

I have a brand new oralce soa suite 11g R1 PS2 installation, following my own instructions even, in which everything seems to work except the B2B Web Console "Reports" functionality. When no messages are available for display (as in none were sent or all were purged) the display looks fine. WHen there are supposed to be messages to display I get the web browser dialogue box saying ""An unknown error occured during data streaming. Ask your system administrator to inspect teh server-side logs." and no data. I performed a clean install on brand new VMs 4 times already, 2-5 hours each time, and every time I get this. I used Windows XP 64-bit, WIndows XP 32-bit, JDK 1.6.0_20 64-bit (on the 64-bit platform), JDK 1.6.0_20 32-bit, Oracel provided JDK 1.6.0_18, all to no avail.
Can some kind soul please tell me what I should look at / fix to have this resolved?

Thanks for getting back to me. I did try with another browser.
Furtehr investigatio tells me that this issue is somehow caused by the domain creation process when I create a single server domain with SOA Suite and OSB. When I create a separate domain for OSB all works as expected (as far as I can tell).
