Hide Column in OO ALV

Dear friends,
How to hide a particular column in Object Oriented ALV.
In classical ALV we are using fieldcat-no_out        = 'X'.
I am using the classes
          columns TYPE REF TO cl_salv_columns_table,
          column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_column_table,
for field attributes.

I assume that methods SET_TECHNICAL and SET_VISIBLE of class CL_SALV_COLUMN_TABLE correspond to LVC_S_FCAT-TECH and LVC_S_FCAT-NO_OUT.

Can you paste the Function Module that you are using ...?
Are using this function module REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY?
Genrally, we use No_output....
If we make it as X then it will not display that field.
Y_WA_FCAT-COL_POS = 8. "+ DG1K902190
Y_WA_FCAT-TABNAME = 'T_FINAL'.
Y_WA_FCAT-FIELDNAME = 'CRTSP'.
Y_WA_FCAT-NO_OUT = 'X'.
Y_WA_FCAT-SCRTEXT_L = 'PROD CREATED ON'.
Y_WA_FCAT-INTLEN = 20.
APPEND Y_WA_FCAT TO Y_I_FCAT.
CLEAR Y_WA_FCAT.
This will not display the field CRTSP.
Hope tihs will fix your isue.

ALV (hide column)

Hi,
Is there any method in ALV grid to hide a column with quantity and display only the subtotals along with the line items displayed.
for example.
customer
a
a(subtotal-22)
b
b
b(subtotal-26)
The quantity column is hidden.

as per my knowledge there is no such option to hide column, So what u can do is try to make use of SORT+FIELD MERGE Fms to get only Subtotals.

perform build_grid1 changing gt_fieldcat.
form build_grid1 changing p_gt_ss.
gw_fieldcat-fieldname   = 'UKURS'.
gw_fieldcat-scrtext_m   = 'Exchange rate'.
gw_fieldcat-no_out      = 'X'.
gw_fieldcat-col_pos     = 9.
APPEND gw_fieldcat TO gt_fieldcat.
endform.

As per code it looks good..check in the debugging corresponding to the field 'UKURS is no_out has value X in the fieldcatalog.

Hiding few columns before displaying alv grid output

Hi All,
I struck up at hiding few columns before displaying alv output. I have used used FM: REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. By using this i am displaying 29 fields to the output. But before displaying the output i want to hide few columns among them, and also those fields have to be avialable for further selection by the user by using layout.
Kindly help me in this,

Hi,
In field catalog set NO_OUT='X' for all the columns you want to hide. They will be available when changing layout for ALV, so you can show them at any time.

Hide column in the adress if it is null and print next line in XML publishe

I'm converting oracle report to XML publisher report.
I craeted template rtf with word. everything works fine.
Except address prints null coumns if it is null.
I used if condition in template. something like this...
<?if:B_ADDRESS1!=''?><?B_ADDRESS1?><?end if?>
But I see still it prints null columns.
Any body have idea how can i fix this?

Hi Guys,
I have built a template for FSG reports. Currently the FSG Reports when run in XML does pull the Display Sets definition for the report. The Display Set is used to hide certain row and Column intersections from the FSG.
So to accomplish this I have coded each column in the template to display data or hide data for a particular row by using the code
<?if:(position()) !=1?><?fsg:RptCell[2]?><?end if?> ------ This means, show the column for all rows except row 1.
Now there are some places I have to hide Column 1 for row 2 and row3 and display for row 1 and row 4.
Can anyone please tell me how I can accomplish this.

my problem is i want to display data in column wise in alv grid display

but i want like:

To add column in an alv of FITV_POWL_TRIPS component

I have a requirement to add column to an alv which is in FITV_POWL_TRIPS.Now the prob is that in that component we r using another compent SALV_WD_TABLE from which alv is taken.This what I understood

Hide a field in ALV "Display Details" list

Hi Experts,
I have a requirment where I have to hide a field in ALV output, as well as in "Details display". I already put NO_OUT = 'X' for that field in fieldcatalog itself. It is hidden in the ALV output anyway, but the problem is when user selects a row and clicks on "Details" button in toolbar of ALV, it still displays the hidden fields of that ALV list with/out headings there.
Hope you understood my problem, pls respond soon if you hav any solution for this?

How to hide column of DataGrid

I am making a web part in which I am using System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid control.
It's AutoGenerateColumns property is set to TRUE.
I am trying to hide a column at run time. I have written the following code on this controls ItemCreated event but it only works if I e.Item.Cells[0] and it doesn't work for any other value for e.g. e.Item.Cells[1] and e.Item.Cells[6].
There are 9 columns in my DataGrid control.

You can try something similar to the below in 'RowCreated' event Instead
protected void gridView_RowCreated(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
e.Row.Cells[1].visible =false;
OR I would say hiding column is not something that is to be done at row level, so you can hide columns outside any of the grid view event after binding.
e.g.
gridview1.columns[1].visible=false;
I am using DataGrid control in which there is no RowCreated event.
I have tried second approach but it also doesn't work.

Expression to Hide Column

Hello everyone...I am using web application.Can anybody tell me how to hide column if data is not present in it in RDLC table using nchar type of data.I have used expression for it but its not working As column is hided but if I insert some
value in that column then it should display value but it is not displaying,it hides column.

I suppose you want to change the sequence of columns of a ALV. If you can change it by clicking 'settings' of right-top corner of ALV. After done you can save the new settings into a new. If you find some abnormal behaviour, please check the settings by WDA component "wd_analyze_config_user".

Now you can capture this events in the user command
FORM user_command USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                         rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
IF r_ucomm = '&OUP' and rs_selfield-SEL_TAB_FIELD = 'Your field name'.
ENDIF.
ENDFORM.                    "user_command
In this form you will get the function code in 'r_ucomm' and the field selected for sorting in 'rs_selfield-SEL_TAB_FIELD'. But reseting 'r_ucomm' will not work.
May be somebody else can give some help on this.
But this will work if you follow the oop method.

REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY (column headings from ALV to EXCEL) Max please help

If you remember in one of my last post I asked for changing the column headings in ALV display for example from 'Material' to 'Material used'.
I am using
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'

      IS_VARIANT                        = g_variant

And you suggested me the following way....
loop at field_body into field_wa.
case field_wa-fieldname.
when 'Material'.
     field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_s = 'Material used'.
endcase.
modify field_body from field_wa.
endloop.
It is working well. In ALV display the column heading is changed to what I wanted. But the question is when I export the displayed ALV to Excel using ALV functionality, Export->Spreadsheet... I see that <b>I dont get the Column Heading into Excel as it was in the ALV display.</b>
I get in the Excel as 'Material u' or 'Mat. Used'. But when I add this line in the code.....
when 'Material'.
     field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
     field_wa-seltext_s = 'Material used'.
    <b> field_wa-outputlen = 20.</b>
Then I see that I get the complete heading in the Excel. But this way the columns with outputlen 20 are taking much space in ALV display.
Is there any fix for this. May be not mentioning the outputlen but still get the column headings into Excel as it was in ALV display.

The labels have a fixed size:
seltext_l is long   text: 20 char
seltext_m is medium text: 15 char
seltext_s is short text: 10 char
The text 'Material used' is long 13 char so you should write:
field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_s = 'Mat. used'.
You can try to set the field colwidth_optimize of parameter IT_LAYOUT.
This field should optimize the width of the colunm
So
data layout type SLIS_LAYOUT_ALV.
layout-colwidth_optimize = 'X'.
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
EXPORTING
I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = repid
IT_LAYOUT   = layout
IT_FIELDCAT = field_body
I_SAVE = g_save
IS_VARIANT = g_variant
IT_EVENTS = events

and you can decide which label has to be used:
field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
