Hide Select option properties in Webdynpro ABAP

Hi,
I have a select option defined in my Webdynpro application.
I want to control/hide few properties of this SELECT-OPTION. How do I do that.
I am using Select-option of type IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.

Personalization option for Standard Webdynpro ABAP iView

Hello Experts,
We are stuck with an issue on personalizing a Webdynpro ABAP application. Personalization option is available for Webdynpro Java iViews, when we preview the iView from the Administrator's login and do a Control + Right click. This will provide a dialog box where we can personalize the iView. We can do personalization on the existing fields (hiding the fields, changing the text etc). But this is not happening with Webdynpro ABAP iView.
Scenario:
We have a Standard Webdynpro ABAP iView which has 3 rows of links (Row1 - 5 links, Row2 - 2 links and Row3 - 2 links). The client wants only one link in Row1, one link in Row2 and one in Row3. I tried hiding the other links through Personalization. It is not working as am able to see the changes only with the Admin ID. When I assign this iView to a different user and tried viewing the iView its showing all the links.
But the strange thing is that, if I hide the complete row (eg. Row2 both the links are hidden), then am able to see the complete row being hidden with both the Admin ID and also the end user's ID. So not sure where am I missing.

   Thanks for your reply.
   I think, I have set the properties of the iView right. I have tried with all the options for the property "Launch in new window" property of the iView but it didn't work.
   "By home page framework" I mean that the link of the iView in portal has been created using the "Home page framework" i.e. from "SPRO" transaction in the backend.
   Please let me know if you need any other input from me.

How to change the select options selection text dynamically in webdynpro abap ?

I am using standard interface WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS.... i want to change the Selection text dynamically in my select options.I.E. if the select option is for VBELN field than i want to change its description SALES ORDER Number through Code to some other text.

You can achieve your requirement as below
Get the range table of your selection field as below
          data lt_range_table type ref to data.
          wd_this->m_handler->GET_RANGE_TABLE_OF_SEL_FIELD(
                    exporting
                    i_id = 'VBELN'
                    receiving
                    rt_range_table = lt_range_table ).
Update the selection field with new description - 'Your New Text'
          wd_this->m_handler->UPD_SELECTION_FIELD(
                    exporting
                         I_ID = 'VBELN'
                         I_DESCRIPTION = 'Your New text'
                         I_IS_AUTO_DESCRIPTION = abap_false
                         IT_RESULT = lt_range_table ).
You can also pass the other parameters as per your requirement

SELECT OPTIONS IN WEB DYNPRO ABAP

Hello experts, im working with select options in a WEB Dynpro.
There are four buttons (cancel,check,reset,copy) that apears above my select option.
My question is: There is a way to hide that buttons?

Sure, you can disable them using the SET_GLOBAL_OPTIONS methdo of the IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS class. Something like this:
wd_this->m_handler->set_global_options(
    i_display_btn_cancel = abap_false
    i_display_btn_check   = abap_false
    i_display_btn_reset   = abap_false
    i_display_btn_execute = abap_false ).

F4 for employee select options in WD for abap application

I have defined a select option for employee selection in my WD for abap application. The only problem is that I cannot get a f4 help button to be displayed. I have defined the select option using the following code :
wd_this->m_wd_select_options = wd_this->wd_cpifc_select_options( ).
init the select screen
wd_this->m_handler = wd_this->m_wd_select_options->init_selection_screen( ).
create a range table that consists of this new data element
lt_range_table = wd_this->m_handler->create_range_table(
i_typename = 'PERNR_D' ).
add a new field to the selection
wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
i_id = 'PERNR_D'
it_result = lt_range_table
i_read_only = read_only ).
I have tried adding entries for the parameter help_id but still cannot get a f4 button.

Select options propertis change

Hi all,
I have a select options initialized into the method WDDOINIT of a view as follows:
wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field( i_id = 'KUNNR'
                                           it_result = lt_range_table
                                           i_read_only = read_only
                                           i_no_extension = abap_false
                                           i_no_intervals = abap_false ).
in this view I arrive from another one by cliccking one of 4 links, I would like that only in 1 of this case the select options above is without intervals and extension, so I call into each method HANDLEFROM_LINK the method upd_selection_field.
in that one the select options should have no interval and extension I write following code:
CALL METHOD wd_this->m_handler->upd_selection_field
    EXPORTING
      i_id           = 'KUNNR'
      i_no_extension = abap_true
      i_no_intervals = abap_true.
in all the other ones instead I write:
CALL METHOD wd_this->m_handler->upd_selection_field
    EXPORTING
      i_id           = 'KUNNR'
      i_no_extension = abap_false
      i_no_intervals = abap_false.
this unfortunately doesn't work very well during the navigation, what happends is, when I click the first time a link it take the correct properties for the select options, but if I come back to the previous view and click another link It take again the properties of the first link clicked...
Any suggest for me?

What I saw in debug is that during upd_selection_field execution the attribute MT_FIELDS is filled only when I call the first link and the method works, then I push back, and click on another link this time that attribute is empty, following read fails:
read table mt_added_fields

     <added_field> = <field>.
if field is a new added field, any property can be changed
    <original_field> = <field>.
else.
    if is_changeable_property = abap_true.

if field is not new only a subset of properties can be changed

      <original_field>-m_is_nullable = <field>-m_is_nullable.
      <original_field>-m_format_properties = <field>-m_format_properties.

So <added_field> is not updated... could this help you to understand my error?

In this method, the program show a message that is declared in a mesasge class. If you look at IF_WD_MESSAGE_MANAGER there are other methods to show a message.

Select options in web dynpro ABAP (search help f4 problem)

hi...
from the Tutorial of select options i have created select option for two parameters S_CARR_ID and S_CONN_ID but i get f4 help for only S_CARR_ID, but the parameters passed to both for   m_handler->add_selection_field are the same.
i also tried to attach my search help by passing one more parameter (I_VALUE_HELP_ID) but it dose not help.
could any one suggest me how to get f4 help.

Validation of select-options in WEb DynPro ABAP

Can anyone please help me on validating select-options. I want to have a functionality like what we use in normal text field while validating the field. We generally use the REPORT_ATTRIBUTE_ERROR_MESSAGE funciton.
How can we achieve the same thing with select-options, cuz the select-options are not bound with any attribute.

I used the parameter I_VALUE_HELP_TYPE of the method ADD_SELECTION_FIELD, but I didn't know how to pass a correct value for this parameter. Could someone give me an example with coding? For those of you who, like me, get a screen full of OTR keys on the buttons and tabs, the answer is on the first tab, 6th button. Note that it is based on SPFLI, so the expected linkage between CARRID and CONNID does not happen.
The code is in MAIN_VIEW method ONACTIONON_CRS_FLD_F4_CASES.
The essence of it is:
    wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
        i_id                         = CARRID
        it_result                    = lt_range_table
        i_value_help_structure       = 'SFLIGHT'
        i_value_help_structure_field = "CARRID ).
    wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
        i_id                         = CONNID
        it_result                    = lt_range_table
        i_value_help_structure       = 'SFLIGHT'
        i_value_help_structure_field = "CONNID ).
The result is that you select the CARRID, and that restricts the CONNIDs.
I have used SFLIGHT because it will give linked search helps for CARRID and CONNID. It works with parameters too, but remember GET_PARAMETER_FIELD is not currently implemented (it exists, but contains no code, so your program will seem to work, but it won't) , so use GET_PARAMETER_FIELDS which does work.

How to hide the select-options fields on radiobutton select in webdynpro

Could you please help how to hide the select-option fields in webdynpro
there are four radio buttons
for every radiobutton there is corresponding the select_option filed is associated to it
user as only provision select one radio button and reset of the select-option fileds should be hidden
which ever the radio button is selected corresponding the select-options fileld should be displayed

To hide select options you should use interface method REMOVE_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEM of IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
Sample code :
Write the below code in the Event handler of Radio Button.
DATA lv_r_helper_class TYPE REF TO if_wd_select_options.
lv_r_helper_class = lo_interfacecontroller->init_selection_screen(
lv_r_helper_Class->REMOVE_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEM(exporting i_id = 'Select_option1_id1').
This will hide first select option of your screen.Similarly pass select_option_id2 to hide it and so on.

Web Dynpro Abap: Select-Options: Save Selection Data

Hello,
I am using select-options in web dynpro abap. Need to add a feature where the user can save his selection values as a variant.
All I can think of is getting all the selection values and saving these into a Z table.
Can you suggest a better way?

Hi Irene,
Alas, it's currently not possible. You could write your own wrapper though adding a save button. Inside of the action handler you could retrieve the range tables of all fields, convert their content to a structure you like and save it a fitting db table. My suggestion is to use XML and a DB table with a XSTRING field in the data section to store the range table values.
Using personalization will allow you to customize your ui and to hide certain select option fields.

Use the Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS to include select options in Web Dynpro ABAP. Follow these steps:
1. In your Component , "Used Componet" tab add Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS . Component Use can be any name that you want to give, eg SELECT_OPTIONS
2. Go to the View where you want to include the Date Select Options. I am assuming that you already have an Attribute of Type DATS in your context.
3. View: Properties Tab:Create Controller Usage and select
SELECT_OPTIONS     WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS
SELECT_OPTIONS     WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS     INTERFACECONTROLLER
4. View Layout Tab:Include a View Container. In this view container we will show the Date Select Options.
5. View Attributes Tab: Create Following two attributes:
M_HANDLER type IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS
M_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS type IWCI_WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS
6: View Methods Tab: Create a method eg CREATE_SELECTION_SCREEN. Call this method in the WDDOINIT of the view.
