Hiding JSP codes. Pls help.
Dear experts,
After completion of web development, I have to upload my file to the hosting site.
Is there any way to hide the JSP code so that the System Administrator of the hosting site also cannot
view the code.

To Obfuscate class files you can use Obfuscators
Java compilers place uncessary symbolic information in your .class files that makes them extremely vulnerable to reverse engineering by leaving method and field names unaltered from the original source. Obfuscator removes this information.

Unknown problem with JSP, JavaScript - Pls help

I am facing a strange problem. Explained it below. Kindly help me as it is really affecting my work. Thanks in advance.
I am working on building a web application using jsp, servlet, ejb. the IDE used is WSAD 5.1.2.
I have the below :
1 JSP - Input page - for user input entry
2. Java script1 - For all client side validations
Java script2 - For handling the data submission to servlet (as selected by user)
Javascript3 - Header & Menu Bar
3 Servlet - This actually retrieves the values from the hidden parameters, sets them in session and redirects the control back to the jsp.
Logic for one small iteration : Two drop downs are there. On selecting the first drop down the second drop down should be populated and the first drop down should display the user selected value.
1. When the user selects the first drop down onchange() event gets fired which calls a method in the javascript.
2. In the javascript I set the value of a hidden form field to the selected combo index and submit the form to the servlet
3. In the servlet, I retrieve the hidden request parameter (Index),
set the index in session. Do my business logic based on the value of the index. Set the collection (to be displayed) in second drop down in session.
4. Send the response back to the JSP.
5. In the JSP, we have a method which is called during the onload() event of the body
6. This method sets the user selected values in appropriate controls(by taking from session)
Problem faced: I have a javascript which creates the menu bar for my application and this i've included it in my jsp. I dont know whats wrong with this javascript, when it is commented out the page works perfectly fine. Both the user selected value and the collection are loaded exactly as expected. But when it is included the collection is loaded in the second drop down but the selected index of the first drop down is not set - the drop down gets reset to the default value.
Also on body load of my jsp, I call a javascript method which sets the current date in one text field of my form. Even this is not working fine when I include this javascript. I don't see any script error in this javascript in my browser though. Strange but guess something basic :(
I'm sure there is nothing to do with session. I've tried printing the entire flow. The Servlet sets the values correctly in session and they are also correctly available in the JSP page. The JSP also gets loaded with the user selected values but something happens on page load which clears the values to default.
Am also confused in what way javascript is related to this, coz when I remove it things are working fine.
Am really helpless here pls do the needful. any help is appreciated.

Hiding JSP code during deploynment in tomcat5
I have developed a JSP application using JSP pages,Servlets and JavaBeans and i would reaaly like to hide my JSP code.
Since JSP pages have to be converted to Java Sources and then to classes, is there a way i can deploy only the class files sumped by my tomcat? Please assist because i am desperate with this solutionHi
This thing can be done. Let me give u an example
suppost i have a context named Test in webapps directory. it contains
a jsp named hello.jsp.Now start Tomcat, access the hello.jsp file
eg:
http://localhost:8080/Test/hello.jsp
Now it will compile the jsp and the servlet version of the jsp will be created in work\Catalina\localhost\Test\ . inside this directory the servlet of the corresponding JSP gets created with following package
org.apache.jsp.hello_jsp.java
inside org/apache/jsp directory u will find the hello_jsp.java and hello_jsp.class File.We will require only class file.Delete the .java file
make a jar of org.apache.jsp.hello_jsp say test.jar
Now copy test.jar to webapps/Test/web-inf/lib
edit the web.xml like this

Error in bdc programing code-pls help
hi friends,
I was tring to do a bdc program.But it shows me an error. MY bdc program is jus to upload a 2 fields in vendoe master table.
That is LIFNR,NAME1 field for the new vendors.
I worked out an execl sheet for this, and jus copied it to the text file by selecting all and pasting.
Even then i get an error code that BDC_open does not exits.
MY code is this, please help me if iam wrong.

If you are using GUI_UPLOAD in 4.7 then the file path whatever you are using currently it won't work. Replace the file path like this.
P_FILE LIKE RLGRAP-FILENAME.
DATA: V_FILE TYPE STRING.
V_FILE = P_FILE.
Now take this v_file for function module.Then only it will open the file otherwise you won't get unable to open file error message.
I observerd that you are getting so many fields from the file to the internal table. -

Setting up JDev - Can't run test_fwktutorial.jsp. PLS HELP !

In serious need of assistance if you could help. I downloaded the JDeveloper version for 12.1.1 (in patch 8431482). I have gone through all the setup steps (have done it over and over and over). When I get to the last step to run the test_fwktutorial.jsp I cannot get it to work. I get a new IE window that says: "Error Page" in red and below it: "You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance."
I enabled FND: Diagnostics for the id I am using and I don't even see the option to show the error stack.
I've created the environment variable JDEV_USER_HOME. Downloaded the .dbc file and have successfully tested the connection. Assigned the Framework responsibilities to the id I am using. Verified the id/pwd on the runtime is correct. Made all the changes to the project as listed in the setup doc. I have done this many times to no avail.
I have also tried switching the OC4J preference to use local ip instead of local host's full name.
No matter what I do i can't get it to work. PLEASE provide assistance if possible.

PeteSomething strange... as I said we are running 12.1.1 so i downloaded JDEVELOPER from patch 8431482. I did all the setups several times and couldnt get it to work. Just as a test i downloaded JDeveloper from patch 7523554 and did the setup steps. Same steps worked first time.
Is there something possibly wrong with the version in patch 8431482 ? Or additional/different steps needed to use it ?

I believe you are correct. I had to replace my phone and it was necessary to enter the (3 digit) security code from the credit card the first time I updated some apps on the new phone. Thereafter only the password was requested.
