Highlighting the keywords in the Knowledge search result

Hi All,
I have a requirement where in the client wants the keyword searched in the knowledge search to be highlighted in the result text shown.
Is it possible to do that.Kindly suggest the procedure.

You cannot do this as standard but I suspect you could adapt the JavaScript in the following link http://www.nsftools.com/misc/SearchAndHighlight.htm to do what you want.

Search knowledge article texts within the knowledge search

Hi,
I hope anybody can help me out with this issue.
We have succesfully created Knowledgearticles (KAs) and compiled them using TREX. By adding the KA Knowledgebase to the knowledge search profile, the KAs can be searched in the ICWC in WebUI application IC_KNOWS_SEARCH.
But we are not able to search the note texts of the KA (solution description, problem description).
Using transaction TREXADMIN, i can see that the texts are contained in the index as attribute note_text.
But using the text search of the Knowledge search, only the KA description and the KA keywords are searched.
What did we miss or is this the standard behaviour?

Hi,
in our system the KA knowledgebase was not available by default.
We had to create it using the wizards.
To do this, go in SPRO to Software Agent Framework and choose activity 'Name and configure knowledge base'.
Concerning the data you have to enter- If I remember right, only the name KA is important, the rest can be left unchanged.
After this, you have to go on and create an index for KA using 'Configure Compilation', and last but not least add the KA to the relevant applications. In our case this is ICWebClient.

I got same requirement for ibase hierarchy.I want to add new fields in Ibase hierarchy AB.Do you have any idea regarding this.My requirement is that ,i want to dispaly a fields as a check box which display that this component is in under warranty or not by checking the box.Plz tell ,how can i add a new field in tree type context node.I add a new fields using AET ,but that is not available in that AB.

Urgently I want to configure the knowledge search

Hello All
I am working on CRM 5.0 IC WebClient.
I want to configure the knowledge search, I want to know if the knowledge data base is a separate data base should be integrated with CRM or it is already there only need to be configured.
I want to know how data will be saved on this database.
Installing TREX is a must so I want to know if it is installed or not

Extending the Federated Search Results

Federated Search
I am looking on how to extend the Search Results in the Federated Search. Right now there is Rank Application icon, title and summary. The search service I have has 4 more columns. What would be the easiest way to extend the number of columns for the search datasource I have.

Prabhu,
There's no specific docs on this page, but you should be able to customize the federated search results page in the same way as any other portal page. Look for the general documentation on UI customization. You'll probably need to look over the code for the federated search page to see how the search is invoked. The Activityspace you want to customize is called "NetworkSearchAS", and the code is in com.plumtree.portalpages.browsing.search.network (in the portalpages DLL or jar).

Knowledge Search - Results doesnt appear

Hi Friends,
I have configured Knowledge base in my system and assigned Knowledge base profile to my business role.
But when i go to knowledge base search i see blank dropdown for language.
Also when i add search term i get the warning message 'Check TREX set up'.
Trex is running fine in SM59 and compilation configuration is also done from my end.
Can you guide me where could the problem be? Any suggestions..

Hi Abhishek,
I suggest following:
1. Access the activity using the following navigation options:
Transaction code
SPRO
SAP CRM IMG menu
Customer Relationship Management ® Enterprise Intelligence ® Software Agent Framework ® Name and Configure Knowledge Base
2. Choose Continue.
3. In step Name and Language enter the knowledge base named KA, highlight the respective supported language ( e.g. EN = English) and choose Continue.
4. On step Basic Settings enter the Description for the selected language and choose Continue to skip all other steps.
5.Choose Complete to exit the wizard.
6.Choose Save if necessary.
Hopefully this will solve your issue.
Alternatively,You can access the diagnosis tool using the following navigation options:
Transaction code
CRMC_SAF_TOOL
Select search engine STANDARD, mark all checks (Process and Content Based) and choose Start Diagnosis (F2).
If errors occur when calling the Knowledge Search using transaction CRMM_SEARCH (although connection check in IMG is okay), the problem might be a missing RFC destination for Search and Indexing Service.
2. Check the results of the diagnosis check and follow the descriptions if necessary.
If errors occur like:
Remove/Modify [ Entry = 1 , Table name = CRMC_SAF_SE ]
New entries required [ Entry = 1 , Table name = CRMC_SAF_SE ]
you can ignore the error and continue.
If you receive errors regarding any of the Processes with red traffic lights at sub-entry Check Default Customizing, double-click on this sub-entry and then choose button Guide on the right-hand side.
Choose button Next to restore the settings and confirm the warning which occurs. This step does NOT reset the preceding configuration steps, so don’t worry about the warning.
Diagnosis will let you know if all the configuration is proper for the Knowledge base and KA.

How do I get PDFs to appear in the site search results?

I have read that the BC site seach will show PDF files in its results - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5077569.
I have added a PDF via the media dowloads and added the litterate to a test page via the module {module_literature,a,}. I then reindexed the site, however when I search for something I do not get any results.
The site search is set up to search "Entire Website (including Secure Zone)",
Any ideas why this doesn't work?

Hi Dean
PM me the site url and few details as how you are trying to search as it should work fine.
You can create media downloads and then in site search if you use keywords such as download name then it should return the result with links corresponding to media items.

Get inside the document search result page

In the document libary, there is a microsoft word document which has more than 100 pages. The user will search for a specific sentence in one of the section inside the document using SharePoint 2013 search.
The user will get the search document link in the search result page.
Is there any option in SharePoint itself or using Third Party Plug in , when the user clicks on the search result link, the document will open the exact page where the search keyword is present ?

Make the default search results google, not yahoo.

So usually, when i type a single word,(like the name of a website) into the url, i get taken to said website(for instance, typing "infomania" would take me too http://current.com/shows/infomania/). Or at least i would be taken to a google search result. But now, it takes me to some crappy yahoo search. Help?

How to stop Google from making site the top search result

I created a website for a clinic that's part of a large hospital. Unfortunately when someone googles the name of the large hospital, the clinic's website with address, map and phone number, comes up first on the search results. So the poor clinic receptionist is fielding a lot of phone calls from people thinking the clinic's number is the hospital's general phone number.
So first I removed the name of the hospital (except in an image) from the home page, and took the hospital name out of the address text. I tried using Google's URL removal tool to tell them to stop using the clinic website for the hospital name search. But each request there is marked denied after a few days. Even tried the Google option to have them reindex the site. So far nothing has worked, and it's been a month.
So does anyone have any other ideas to try and get Google to de-rank or remove the clinic site from the hospital name search results?

Thanks for the robot.txt idea. I didn't know about that.
It seems that won't work though, as I still want all pages to be indexed so people can find the site when they are looking for just the clinic. It's just stopping the query for the hospital from returning the site.
But I've now noticed that the actual site link is further down the search results, but the tiny map and address that show up at the top of the query ( i.e. when you search for a business) is being taken from the clinic address and website.
I'm wondering if it's because I used the Google Map widget in the website. I'm going to try and replace the map widget with a gif of the map and see if that helps. Open to other ideas here too.

I can't click on any of the library search results in itunes

Hi all. When I'm searching my library in the search box, the results come up, but I'm unable to click on either the plus sign, arrow or right click on any of the search results. First off let me say, I've read about the "untick 'search entire library' " option, but that's not what I'm looking for. I actually like the full library search with dropdown results, but unfortunately it seems to be broken. I can't figure out how to really fix this. I'm not looking for a workaround, I'm looking for the actual solution. Thanks!

Check out the articles below to troubleshoot iTunes. You may have to completely remove iTunes and its related software and then reinstall it.

Wyy won't firefox take me DIRECTLY to website? Instead it takes me to the yahoo search results and I have to click on the site. Very frustrating. Any ideas on how to change?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

How to integrate custom / application generated data to the endeca search results

Hi,
I am relatively new to the ATG development. And I have a requirement of integrating application generated (read records from a Database) records to the returned results from endeca.
As summary, What I need is, to display the few DB records with the results returned from the endeca index. Then the user should be able to see the full results.
The site has search option and once the user type a key/word then the returning results should include items from both the endeca index and the third-party database.
First I want to know whether this kind of integration is supported in endeca. And if yes what is the best way/practice to do it?
