Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro USB Harddrive in Windows 8

Did some one solved the Problem with the Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro USB Harddrive in Windows 8 ?
This drive is compartible with Windows 8 and get installed fine but in Windows 8 when you plug it in it gets installed as SCSI drive. I am sure it should be installed as IDE drive. The result is you cant use the drive right, like slow reading of a file up
to no reading at all. And this harddrive is relativly new so Windows 8 should be aible to do the job.
I wrote to Hitachi Support and they told me Microsoft 8 is the problem and Microsoft told me Hitachi is the problem....
The solution would be to re do the driver for USB 2.0 and USB 3.o so it can detect all USB devices correct and install the right driver.
I did install Windows 8 now 3 times and this problem occours for me still. So I will have to wait until this is solved , becourse I am not will to buy a new harddrive

Yes the Drive is compatible with windows 8 and windows 8.1, but it does not open any files on the hard drive so useless...I talked with Hitachi and the have send the correct driver to microsoft, but it is up to them when they get integrated.This drive works
just fine in Windows 7 Pro. I tried to use the drive in different Laptops with windows 8.1 and still the same problem. So clearly it is not a Problem on my Laptop !

And it is very disapointing for me that microsoft has still not solved this Problem. I spend alot of money on my Laptop and windows 8 + my harddrive . I will not buy a new harddrive becourse Microsoft is not willing to solve it for me......
With other words for me was the step to buy Windows 8 a bad idea. When I am aible to use my harddrive I will install it again..but until I get a clear statement that it is fixed I stop waisting my time with install windows 8 and going back to windows 7...Both
company make alot of money on user like me and that is what we get......

for the purpose of doing regular windows system images so I can restore the complete system in case of problems.
Surprisingly, the crystal mark shows the USB drive being faster than my internal WD 750GB Scorpio Black, which I always thought was dog slow.
However, this drive does not work with the W520 and windows system image. You always get:
The backup failed.
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. (0x8007045D).
First Hitachi told me that this was a known Microsoft incompatibility with all 512E drives (i.e. 4k blocks physically, 512k logicaly), which is false as I have two other 2GB 512E drives which work just fine (Vertbatim and a WD) with system image.
Then they said it must be the computer chipset and USB drivers (both are up to date).
So its RMA.

The issue could be related to drive firmware not compatible with system board.
You must update the hard drive firmware then check it may resolve the issue.

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver missing Windows 8.1

Have just downloaded iTunes 11.3 but it now doesn't recgonize my 6th Gen. iPod nano. Have narrowed it down to a missing Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in the Device Manager but there isn't a potential alternative to the iPod i.e. another device to choose from.
How can I re-install/download this driver?

OK. I found my answer, thanks to another posting.
Uninstall iTunes
Uninstall Apple Software Update
Uninstall Mobile Device Service
Uninstall Bonjour
Uninstall Application Support....all in this order.
Clear everything from Trash.
Restart PC
Install latest version of iTunes.
It worked!

I disabled "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" in Windows

I did this because my device wasn't charging and I was trying (still am trying) to solve that problem.
But once I disabled the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under the Device Manager the device didn't dhwo up with an "X" next to it it just went away. And now when I plug in ipods it will not show up at all!
I even booted into safe mode expecting to see more drivers there and I still didn't see the apple one to re-enable it. I should have deleted it then it would have just come back on a re-boot!
Anyone have any suggestions?

Re-installing the apple mobile device support under add and remove programs fixed this issue. Found this after many iTunes re-installs.
Still have a charging issue. I will post that in a different message.

I don't know how you would get the Mavericks installer on your Windows PC.
Boot into Recovery on your Mac and reinstall the OS.
To boot into Recovery hold down cmd-r on restart.
You might just try resetting PRAM as that might fix your problem. Hold down cmd-opt-p-r after you hear the startup tone. Keep holding them until you hear the tone two more times then release.
If it doesn't boot normally, you'll need to reinstall the OS using Recovery.

Connecting to Mac's external USB harddrive from Windows XP

I would like to connect to my external hardrive, that is connected to my Mac from Windows XP using apple share
From Windows I can see the Macs internal hardrive but not the external one
From the Mac -of course- I can see its external drive
Is there a way to share that drive so Windows can see it through the Mac?

yes your info is indicative most certainly of a bad sata connector
ive got 5 HD caddies 10 feet from me they all went toes up dead with hours of each other due to 5cent junk SATA connectors
sorry. but 3rd party HD devices can be great. but they flop due to using Incredibly junky sata connector circuitry
6 out of 10 complaints of dead external HD are in fact wrong. the HD are ok. its their junk sata connectors sadly

X1 Carbon USB 3.0 port failed on Hitachi TOURO drive

I bought a portable USB drive TOURO Mobile MX3 1TB last night. It failed to work with the USB 3.0 port on my X1C. It works fine with the normal USB 2.0 port, slower of course.
I checked the USB controller driver is the lastest. Just don't know how to solve this issue.

I borrowed a WD USB 3.0 drive from a friend, and plugged into my X1C USB3.0 port. It works like magic. So I bought one WD drive myself.
Conclusion is the X1C USB 3.0 port is not compatible with the Hitachi TOURO drive. Strange thing does happen sometimes.

Found a possible solution for me.
While the phone was plugged into my computer and iTunes is CLOSED.
1. I went to Services in Windows.
2. I selected Apple Mobile Device and right clicked and selected "Stop".
3. Then I right-clicked again and selected "Start".
4. Then I went to Device Manager and right clicked my iPhone with the yellow alert icon and selected "Uninstall". You will get a warning about uninstalling the device. Click OK.
5. At the top of Device Manager I clicked the Action menu and selected "Scan for Hardware Changes".
This re-installed the iPhone and everything started working again.

Why is Windows 8.1 causing my Verizon Mobile Broadband USB Pantech modem to auto connect? If I turn it off in Windows Settings I can not get service. As I am on a 5 GB plan I do not want my internet running at all times nor do I want o have to disconnect from the internet every time I turn my computer on.

Hmm. That is a bit conflicting. After all, we don't want you to have to worry about usage running up or having to get disconnected each time you get on the computer. Ultimately, this is a software functionality of Windows 8.1 however. Have you noticed a high increase of usage when the auto connect is left on or are you just taking precautionary measures?

Hi, as subject says, My WD 1.5TB Caviar Black brand new is inside Hitachi Tuoro Desk Pro 4TB USB 3.0 HDD enclosure and keeps ejecting randomly only on wake from sleep. On clean boot HDD works fine. Anyone know solution to this problem?

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver shows up with an ! in Device Manager (Windows 8)

When trying to sync my iPhone 5C with iTunes for Windows 8, the device is not recognised on the software. I have checked that my devices are up to date and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' in Device Manager, yet it continues to come up with an '!' next to it, and when checking the properties it states "This device cannot start. (Code 10) The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device." How do I fix this problem?

If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below. Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed.
