Hits keep coming
After all the BS with the mouse and keyboard, I now verify the disk in Disk Utility and get, The Volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired. It tells me to use disk utility, but the repair button is grayed out. Does this mean I have HD hwardware issues on this thing, or did OS X corrupt it? If it's physical, I just want a new machine already, this one is less than a week old and there have been boot up issues since I first placed it on my desk. (corrected then crept up again)
If I need to do this all over again, fine I'll format it blank. But I cannot keep doing this song and dance. If this is what my money gets me, why didn't I just go back to horrible windows. Own a C2D Macbook, and CD iMac no issues like this with either of those for a few years now.
You need to run Disk Utility from the DVD that came with the IMac. Please read this article for instructions.

For those kind of mails, unsubscribing doesn't work. they're breaking the law trying to scam you, they're not going to respect unsubscribe. Unsubscribe only works with real companies. Such as unsubscribing from Gap company mail etc. Spammers can actually use the 'unsubscribe' as a confirmation 'hey, there's a real person here, hit em hard'
I'm not really familiar with g-mail, but most mail programs have filters you can set up, such as telling it 'everything with dating in the title, send to the trash' etc.
You can do some research on that or have someone help you with some hands on help.
If that e-mail has ever been used for e-greeting cards, or given to enter contests, etc, your address is out there. You will never get rid of it totally.
If it's really, really bad, sometimes what you have to do is abandon the address and get a new one and only give it out to people you want to contact you. Don't enter it on websites, or use e-cards or things like that that are spam collection mechanisms. -
Plugin-container.exe keeps coming back and slowing my machine (ver.3.6.12)
This problem occurred in earlier editions and I would have thought that it should have been solved by now.
My computer goes to 100% usage and stay there until I go into my Windows Task Manager and stop the process: plugin-container.exe . I understand this was put in to stop crashes by Flash Player??? Well , it seems that they have decided to throw the baby out with the wash water. I stop the process but it keeps coming back.
Is there some similar program like Flashplayer that works and that we can use?
What happens if we can really get rid of it permanently?

VoiceOver is a great feature on the iPhones. I am sorry you are not able to turn it on. You have come to the right place. When you go into VoiceOver and you hit OK. Then double tap where it says on. This will turn this feature on. If you are wanting to remove the feature you would do the same thing but double tap on the OFF.

My Nokia 5230 Nuron keeps poping up the Setup Email thingy! I'v already set up 3 email accounts on this cell phone but the setup process keeps poping up all the time and ask me if i allow application (Email Setup) to access the internet. and if i click yes it just takes me through the email account creation steps!! over and over again! so choosing no or yes makes no difference as the setup process keeps coming up aaall the time every 5 or 10 mins max!!!
Once you have set-up your e-mails.. just un-install the e-mail installation application.. this should not affect any e-mails accounts..

Iphone 5s on Verizon Network Wifi not working Wifi keeps coming in and out
I just recently purchased the Iphone 5s from Bestbuy and I have noticed that my data usage is enormous. I haven't even had the phone for a week but my data usage is almost at 50% of my monthly capacity. I have my iphone connected to WIFI always when I am at home and work. The majority of my day I am in a building with WIFI. I called Verizon to figure this thing out and they said that my WIFI connection keeps coming in and out and that is why I have used so much data. Is there a way this can be fixed or should I return my phone? The Verizon Wireless Rep told me there is an issue with the WIFI but since I am new to iphone I just wanted to try everything before I return the phone. I have AT&T U-verse cable and internet. I never had a problem with the WIFI on my Galaxy S3. The wireless icon always appears to be on but the REP told me that isn't always the best indicator that the phone is using purely WIFI.
In the US, Apple handles all iPhone warranty/support issues. So, make an appointment at any Apple store.

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.

Help! My iPod touch won't let me download any apps. A message keeps coming up saying "This Apple ID cannot be used for the iTunes store. Please enter another Apple ID" I changed my ID to see if that would work but the same message still comes up.

What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store? -
When using my ipad air it keeps coming off the page I'm on or app I am using and going back to the home screen. Also when using my ipad the screen will go white with a black apple icon in the middle for about 20 seconds then it makes a ping sound and goes to the home screen. Could anyone help please. I have tried to just install the new version of itunes from the apple website, it looks like it downloads but after 5 minutes at the end of the install it says 'old version of itunes cannot be uninstalled, please contact support.'?
Is there anyway I can remove the version of itunes from my computer? i dont mind if i lose the music/content I already have on my itunes. I need to do this as i have just received the iphone 4 and need to install the newest version of itunes.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -

I am trying to set up iCloud on my various devices. When I log in with my iTunes (Apple id) it keeps coming back and stating
"Verify your account. This Apple ID's email address cannot be verified. Change your apple ids email address at appleid.apple.com to sig into i cloud"
My apple id has been alive and in use for years on iTunes etc. I have tried a different address and password and still get the same result

BrianIf your email address is valid, just go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click "Manage your account" to the right,sign in, click Name, ID, and Email Addresses to the left, then click "Verify now" next to your email address. Apple will send you an email to this address with a verification link. Otherwise add an alternate email address that can be verified.

I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
