HMTDB in a database - application in other DB

Question

Hi!! I'd like to know if it's possible to create an application using HTMLDB on a Database different from the database where the product (HTMLDB) is installed.
I mean, the product has been installed in one DB and we'd like to create an application that is related to an schema that is on other database.

You can access database objects in a schema in a non-HTML DB database.
1.) In the schema in the HTML DB database, create a database link to the non-HTML DB database. This link can be to the schema which owns the tables/objects or to a schema in the non-HTML DB database with access to the tables/objects. Just remember if you use the latter, since HTML DB is functioning in a PL/SQL environment access to the tables/objects must be through direct grants and not roles.
2.) In the schema which owns the table/objects, create a function which returns the NEXTVAL for each DB sequence. This is needed because ".NEXTVAL" cannot be used in a view.
3.) In the schema in the HTML DB database, create views for each table which utilize the database link created in #1. This is done so the HTML DB repository has the definition/layout of each table.
4.) References to other objects like functions, procedures, and packages can be done by appending the DB link to the object reference.
