Holding GR (MIGO) for asset acquisition

Hi
We have created Asset PO for branch with account assignment 'A.' We entered asset master and all other details
Now today we got the assets at the branch and GR is pending.
Now the management requires park and post facility sort of thing in Assets GR also. Now the branch store should be able to enter the details of GR and park (or hold) the GR. No accounting entry should be posted at that time.
The Assets executive will verify the details entered and then only he will post the GR (i.e. MIGO).
So let me know if GR parking and posting facility is available for 'A' account assigned PO.

yes we can hold GRN for asset PO ,but i am not getting one thing you are asking for no accounting entries at time of GRN
but for asset ,GRN always non valuated ,so regarding which accounting entries you are discussing ?
or If don't want accounting doc at time MIGO ,then you can use Movement type 103 and check it and then release by 105 movement type

  • Define Transaction Types for ASSET Acquisitions

    Hi friends,
I have below requirement and need help on the same.
I need transaction types (or another solution) that post ASSET Acquisitions only to certain depreciation areas in chart of depreciation (not in 01).
    Kindly suggest on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Dragoslav

    Hi,
You have to create new ones.
In SPRO  .....  AA >Transactions > Acquisitions >  Define Transaction types for acquisitions.
Copy an existing type that covers the type of movement to Zxx
Then use Limit Transaction Types to restrict the Zxx to only post in thoose areas that you wish to be posted.

  • Profit Center Derivation for Asset Acquisition

    Hello all,
I am trying to post asset acquisition via F-90.
We are using ECC6.0 and  document split is activated.
I assumed that system will derive the profit center from the assigned cost center in the asset master record.
However, system returned error " Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled ".\
Is there something missing? Am I supposed to create some new transaction variant in document split OR define some rule to derive the profit center of the asset master record from the cost center?
Hope you are able to provide you insights.
    Thank you,
    Richard

    Hello Richard,
I I think The problem is caused by missing customizing in trx. ACSET. the profit center can not be directly assigned to assets in asset master data. Therefore it has to be derived from cost center that is linked to asset.
To derive the cost center on FI document and then onto NewGL, it is necessary to:
    1) set cost center field 'optional' in field status (trx. OB14 & OB41)
    2) set cost center as account assignment at trx. ACSET

  • Budget at P.O level for asset acquisition

    Dear All
one scenario with my client is they have to have budget check at the purchase order level if they want to purchase
an asset through capital purchase order. For this what we thought was we will create a Statistical order with
budget on it and if the budget exceeds we will get warning and monitoring would be easy ...
but this approach is not working..
Is there any other approach through which this issue can be addressed.
    Thanks and regards
    Sapfan

    Dear,
This is the right way of using internal order. You can put check on budget at PO level but you must have activated Commitment management at both controlling area and order type level.

  • FI MM integration _ Asset acquisition through PO

    Hi,
in FI MM integration , Asset acquisition through PO - Do we need any configuration in OBYC/OBYD?
    Thank you
    Vedavatee

When you receive the asset through MIGO for Asset PO, system automatically consume this material for the specied Asset and Gl account which are mentioned in the PO.. these happened through the settings in OMWN..
Same way, you can stock the asset and later you issue to a Asset number and Gl account... so setting in OMWN with 201 movement and VBR are required. OMWN is mostly SAP standard and you can only change the account modifier if you want to have your own account modiefer for some specific reason. otherwise you dont need to change anything in OMWN.

  • Document date is earlier than acquisition date for asset

Client has an asset which they want to post an acquistion for as of 1/1/2011. They are in December of 2011. They first put an acquisition in with 12/31/2011 and then cancelled it, realizing they needed a docdate of 1/1/2011. When they try to redo the acquisition with a docdate of 1/1/2011 they get the error "Document date is earlier than acquisition date for asset xxxxx"
The capitalization date on the asset is 1/1/2011. I looked at the acquisition date (thorugh SQL) and it is "1899-12-30 00:00:00.000"
Does anyone know why it is preventing from posting?
(Posting dates allowed are 1/1/11-12/31/11 for period 12 of 2011 and the period is unlocked)
    Alan

    Hi
I do believe that the problem is in the capitalization date 12/31/2011
Even if you have cancellled the first acqusition , and the acquisition date has taken the dummy date that assets have when there are no acqusitions 1899-12-30 00:00:00.000
Still the capitalization date remains 12/31/2011
and this will deter any transactions earlier than 12/31/2011
    My question is,
can you still edit the field capitalization date?

  • Credit memo for subsequent acquisitions in Fixed Assets

According to the Fixed Asset help file - section Credit memo for Subsequent Acquisitions it Says " Fixed Assets *DOES NOT* allow posting a credit memo for a subsequent acquistion.  What are the exactt circumstances in which Fixed Assets will block these credit memos. I have added subsequent Acquisitions and Fixed Assets appears to allow credit memo's where depreaction has not been run and also where depreciation has  not been run. How does this blocking mechanism work?

    Hi John
It appears that there is no good answer to your question.  From my undertstanding, the SAP Fixed Assets add-on is a very basic solution, and does not anticipate many of the changes that can occur once an Asset is acquired.  Frankly, it is pretty basic when handling the initial acquisition.
Not that this will help you with this particular install, but the Fixed Assets add-on from B1 Fixed Assets LLC does a very thorough job of creating Assets, where you can use any or all of Invoices, Credit Memos, and Journal Entries, mixing and matching to create the Asset.  Once the Asset has be added, making Cost Adjustments is almost as thorough, and provides considerably more options to recognize the Cost Adjustment.  You can see a viedo of a relatively simple Asset Acquisition on YouTube (www.youtube.com/b1fixedassets).
Let me know how you get this issue resolved - I am very interested.

  • Depreciation as per IT act India problem in asset acquisition for less then 180 days.

    Dear All,
As requested by our client we need to configure depreciation as per IT act.We are using fiscal year variant K4(Oct to Sept) in our company code but as per specification from client we need to use fiscal year variant (April to March) for reporting purpose as per IT act. While posting for asset acquire for less then 180 days asset is not coming in display as per Indian Income tax report(J1IDISPBLK - Display Transaction Details at Asset Level).
We also try to use V3 (fiscal year variant as maintained for Indian IT act with period control "IT").But while putting V3(Fsv) for Depreciation area 15 (Financial Accounting (New) > Asset Accounting > Valuation > Fiscal Year > Fiscal Year Variants) got error that Fiscal year should be same as of company code.In this case we are not able to configure it.Kindly advice if anybody has configured this.

    Hi Sudheer,
This 180 days calculation can be done for Income tax depreciation if you provide the below details in the income tax related depreciation key
    Base method: IND1
Declining Balance method: I01 to .... (whatever is available in F4 option based on rates you select)
    Period control: IN1
Multi level method: M1 to M9 as provided by standard SAP
    Class: 2 Declining balance depreciation
    Change method: No automatic changeover
Multiple shift: 2 no effect on depreciation and useful life
Scrap value: 3 cut off value is ignored
    shutdown: No
If you follow the above details in the depreciation key, then you will get that 180 days calculation. ie., from 1st april to 30th september if you capitalise any asset, your system will calculate full depreciation and from 1st october to 31st march if you capitalise any asset, you system will calculate 180 days depreciation.
Hope this helps. Assign points if useful

  • Accout determination error for Asset while MIGO urgent

    Hi,
I am doing the GR for assets but I am facing the following error
Account determination for entry NSL WRX 0001 not possible
    Message no. M8147
    Diagnosis
The system did not find an account for this transaction. This means that the account determination for key NSL WRX 0001 is not maintained in MM Customizing (Valuation). The key is made up of:
    Chart of account
    Transaction key (= Posting transaction)
    Valuation grouping code
    Account grouping code
    Valuation class
    System response
The system cannot update a G/L account for this transaction. You cannot post the transaction.
    Procedure
    Contact your system administrator.
If you have the authorization, check the Account determination in Customizing for Valuation.
    Proceed
And meanwhile I have assigned the Val Class to the Material type to and on OBYC in which combination I have to assign the GL Accounts.Plz suggets with examples.

    Hi,
In OBYC transaction click on WRX . Here for a valuation gouping code-valuation class-assign GLaccount.
I think NSL is the chart of accounts and 0001 is the valuation class in your case.
Please check the standard account determination defined by SAP.In chart of accounts INT for WRX the account assignment will be like this:valuation grouping code 0001-Valuation class 3000--GL account 1160000.
If valuation grouping code (grouping of val area's)does not apply to you then leave the field blank or change the rules.

  • Asset acquisition date (How to change?)

    Hi all,
    As per http://www.jt77.com/financials/finan-15236.html
Asset capitalization date = 1day of depreciation calculation
Asset acquisition date = day of first cost allocation to the asset
Asset value date = date of effect in asset account of a posting
From the above dates, I would like to have a try to give my understanding on them.
Let say I have acquire an asset through a PO -> GR -> IR on 15 Oct 2007.
If I set the Cap Date as on 01 Nov 2007, and Asset Value date as on 01 Dec 2007, does this mean that ...
    <u><i>Question 1:</i></u>
<b>My Asset depreciation will starts on Dec, with 2 months depreciation, which is Nov and Dec (because my Asset Cap Date is on 01 Nov 2007)?</b>
    <u><i>Question 2:</i></u>
What if I want to <b>change the Asset acquisition date</b> to, say 01 Nov 2007?
I tried AB08 to reverse the asset, and change the GR posting date (through MIGO), and these date affect asset value date only.
I tried also to reverse the IR (using MR8M) and re-post the IR using Miro, with different Invoice and Posting date, these date only affect the FI documents.
I tried AS02, and I can only change Cap date, and NOT the acquisition date.
Please help on this, and clarify the usage / importance of the acquisition date.
As per AS03 (wrong first acquisition date)
Andreas Mann said that crucial is the "asset value date" (field BZDAT)it should be 31.05.2007, than first acquisition date is not important

Capitalization Date= Date on which the asset will be capitalized
Acqusition Date= Date on which first transaction is done on the asset after creation.  It cannot be changed once a value is posted to the asset
Asset Value Date is important to determine the Depreciation
Asset value Date determines the postings to the asset.  You can set the configuration for default asset value date. It is the date with which user wants to post to the asset, i.e it can be Document Date, Posting Date, Capitalization Date, Goods Receipt date. Check the list in
<b>Asset Accounting> Transactions> Specify How Default Asset Value Date is Determined</b>
Ordinary Depreciation Start Date Date on which the system starts calculates and posts depreciation
Ordinary Depreciation Start Date can be determined by the system through Priod controls defined or entered manually by the user.  If entered manually it surpass the system calculated date.
