Hello,
I heard General Mills has done something by taking the home page framework source code. Does any of you know, where can I get the source code for Home Page FrameWork.

haha Well General Mills wouldn't be the only ones. It's actually not hard at all. It is the XSS pieces that get installed as part of the installation....just plain ol' webdynpro code. You can also look at the backend class methods and make changes if you want. The sky is the limit.

ERP 04 - Home Page Framework (IAC object and Transaction )

Hi,
We currently have transactional and IAC iViews in our EP 6 and 4.6c system. We will upgrade the system from 4.6c to ECC 5. Upgraded system specification will be as follows.
EP6 NW04 (Web AS 640) SP 12
Integrated ITS 640
ECC5 backend
We are using homepage Framework to build ESS/MSS portal content.
My questions
1. How can we call a SAP transaction from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?
2. We are currently using Time approval (CAPS) and Expense approval (PRAP) in EP6 as transactional iViews. Has SAP created a Web Dynpro service for these two functions?
3. How can we call an IAC object from an ESS home page Framework? What type of service I need to create to do so?

Hi Fatima,
I think there is not an option to use a Transaction directly in the XSS Homepage framework.
However, you can create a portal page with a transaction iview on it. In the homepage framework just attach the pcd path to the resource. That should do the trick.
This will probably answer question 1 and 3

Home Page Framework Config

We are facing an issue in Home Page Configuration
Steps followed
Defined Resource (with PCD Link to a Page Containing HCM Process Overview Iview)
Defined Area Page (Used the Resource defined above)
Assigned Area to Area Group Page
Defined Sub Area
Assigned Sub Area to Area
Defined Service. (Used same resource)
Assigned Service to Sub Area
What we expect is when I click on the Area Page, it should take us to the HCM Process Overview Page. (This works for most of the WDA Iview & Page we created)
When we click the link we get a page not found error. (Preview of the page in Content Admin works)
If we follow the same steps except that the Area page points to a resource in with PCD link to iview which calls the area page and the Service calling the Resource defined above step, we are able to view the page but there is an additional click involved.
Ie, from Area, get list of service from where we need to launch the forms
Since this additional step was removed by having a common resource for most of the area pages we defined so far, difficult to have this as a deviation
What are we missing? What is special about this Iview? This is a Standard Iview pointing to WDA Application asr_Process_display. Iview delivered by SAP with no changes

If i understood correctly your requirement, check for the WDA service, that the field "Service Type" has the value "WDABAP".
Also, for the corresponding resource, check that the "URL of PCD" property matchs with "PCD Location" property of HCM Process Overview page, but entering by your Role (check note [1234273|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1234273] for more info about this process).

Home Page Framework issues with Exit Button

Hi,
We are just implementing the ESS package within the new EP7 portal using ECC6.0. We are having a issue when we select a service within the Home Page such as Address, the iview gets displayed which brings up the different addresses which can be edited. On choosing for example the permanent address edit option the new screen appears where you can modify the details if I choose to exit from here, rather than taking me back to the initial page, a new page gets opened with the default to the Personnel Information Page. Could someone please advise what is currently wrong here as I have checked the resource link and service link and all seems to be pointing to the right pages.
For example on choosing the exit the below url gets displayed

How to hide SSRS reportserver home page data sources

I can hide data sources in report manager but not in report server (http://servername/reportserver).
Is there any option to hide items when viewed through Ipad using URL http://servername/reportserver

As far as I'm aware visibility of items and folders can only be controlled via the permissions you assign to them. This would mean if a user is unable to see an item then they would not be able to see that item no matter what device they used.

But i want to see the Java code behind the web page.

You can use tools like JD-GUI and the see the code. If you want to customize a cartirdge, you can always extend the class and add your stuff to the contentItem.

I have had this problem for a while since I did a previous Firefox update, where I had to force Gmail to load in Basic HTML else it's next to impossible to use it. The solution is this: simply update your Java, and Gmail will work without a problem using Standard HTML. To update your Java go here: http://www.java.com/en/ and select "Free Java Download".
And beta normally, universally, means "the not quite there yet version of the version we're aiming for" NORMALLY used during production and testing of a type of software.

Source Code Editor Framework for Flex

Dear Flex Forum members:
As a Flex newbie a quite important question in relation to the "Flex frameworks world" still remains to me, even after some google search sessions:
Does there exist any (preferably free) Flex framework or Flex component covering the functionality of a source code editor with syntax highlighting and syntax checking? -- Anything comparable to the Editor Framework within the Eclipse RCP (Rich Client Platform) or even to the Eclipse GEF (Graphical Editor Framework)?
The background is as follows (and as described in more detail in my first post to this forum):
An Online Shop Management Component shall offer the ShopManager to specify the products and offers in some declarative way and after a pre-defined grammar in place. The application frontend must be realized in Flex, and that's the reason why I'm now searching for:
some kind of textual or graphical editor framework for realizing the Shop Manager's editor which shall support him/her in creating shop specifications/configurations in a grammar-conforming way through syntax color highlighting and syntax checking (error feedback), and
this editor framework being intended for Flex (i.e., being a flex framework)
In some way, much of the editing/modeling functionality is identical to the one offered by Flex Builder (Eclipse application), but in my case this functionality must be exposed as web application (Flex component running on the browser).
Aps., would it also be possible to realize the Shop Management Component as AIR app, distribute it through a web page and run it locally on the Shop Managers client desktop???
Which products/frameworks do you know for accomplishing this task?

Since people complain about Flex's basic rich text editor (which is a basic building block of the kind of framework you're discussing), I doub't you'll find what you need out of the box anywhere...

not sure if i understand the question properly.
You want to read html content of http site rendered via jsp.
You can use cl_http_client
to write a simple http client tool.
This tool opens the page. The html content is available to this class.
You can extract the content here.
See the attribute 'response' after making a call.

Huh? If you want something like your browser's "view source" command, simply use a URLConnection and read in the data from the URL in question. If the HTML page is instead locally on your machine, use a FileInputStream. There's no magic invovled either way.

The first part of the application is to connect our application to the existing HTML form.

The module will first connect through the HTML page and will fetch the HTML code into a Text File so that the code can be further processed.

CQ page is not rendering properly. It is not rendering HTML. It is showing HTML source code as is.

On some of the pages, I am getting this weird behavior wherein page is not rendering properly. It is showing HTML source code as is. Could you please help me out? What could be the issue? And how can we get rid of the same?

Check your component jsp page. it is possible that it is just plan file without directives <@ or you might have miss to close tag which is creating source as text to render

Source code jumps around when re-opening page?

Is the following a common problem with Dreamwver CS4 Source Code view?
In an effort to make the code read nice and neat, like everyone else I try to indent and nest my code. For example:

          <ul>
                    <li>one</li>
                    <li>one</li>
                    <li>one</li>
          </ul>
</div>
But, upon saving a file and then later reopening it, I notice that in places the file does not keep my intended spaced nested layout i.e. the code jumps around on a line and I lose my neat indent spacing. For example:
<div>
          <ul>
      <li>one</li>
                    <li>one</li>
                    <li>one</li>
             </ul>
</div>
I have tried to set my preferences > code format > tab size to 10 to produce a larger indent which has improved the problem a little but not fixed it.
Others must have experienced this frustrating problem.
Is there anything I can do to fix it, like set further preferences to give me complete control over the page?

With regards the CSS, I found out about it on Lynda.com training videos.
- Dreamweaver CS4 with CSS Essential Training > Chapter 13: Testing and Deploying CSS > Formatting code for deployment
The process is as follows:
On Dreamweaver CS4 click Edit > Preferences > Code Format > CSS (button)
On the CSS Source Format Options screen, de-select the "Each property on a seperate line" check box and click "OK" and then "OK".
Then on your CSS page, in the left side panel, click "Format Source Code" and the "Apply Source Formatting" selection.
The code will then condense for deployment.
You can reverse the process just as easily going backwards.
If anyone else has any ideas on code jumping around on a line please do let me know. Thanks.

How can one encrypt the source code of a given web page(html, jsp, etc.) ?

Good Day! I'm just having a hard time of thinking how to encrypt the source code of a given web page(html, jsp, etc.) without affecting how it is previewed in an Internet Browser. What I plan is to disable the capabilities of some malicious Internet users of copying the source codes of my web pages by using the "View Source" option of Internet Explorer and the equivalent function in Netscape Navigator. Please somebody help me in this matter (I'm planning to use an IDEA algorithm using JCE)....
It would be big help if a running code is supplied.

don't know theses softs. What i know about encrypted web pages, is that you need a secure socket connection (https).
Your web page will be ciphered, send to the user, and decipher by the browser with the signature file associated to your https connexion.
It isn't possible to encrypt your page directly, and then decrypt them when requested.
For the download time, only the server is responsible for this.
if it is overloaded, then it will slow down its upload.
Maybe you use some encryption method that require a lot of CPU time.
For summary : you can only cipher the pipe transport, but not the transported pages.

Finding source codes and page rankings

I have just got the new upgraded Firefox, and I would like to know how to find two things in this browser:
(1) the source codes for any site I visit, and
(2) the page rankings for any site I visit,
Or aren't these available on Firefox?

@pkgrace, what happens when you try to view source -- no window, blank window??
It's possible to change the source viewer in preferences, so if you have been running Firefox for a while, it might be worth checking that.
(1) Type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter (click the button promising to be careful, and please do be careful!)
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''view_''' and pause until the preferences are filtered
(3) If '''view_source.editor.external''' appears bold (set to true), double-click it to reset it to false. You're done, you can close about:config now.
If that isn't it, perhaps it's related to an add-on?? Please start a new question and use the feature to include a list of add-ons and customized settings with your question.
