Home tab in portal

Could any of experts please let me know. which standard role of portal comes with the home tab. we have recently upgraded to 7.0.18. we didnt had this role before.
I

Hi Raj,
As Raghu said, its the same standard Role. It contains default non-administrative runtime content for portal users. It includes basic functionality (portal personalization iViews) for the core portal platform and default content for the Knowledge Management and Collaboration capabilities of SAP NetWeaver.
The content of the Standard User role is structured as follows:
1.Home (workset)
(pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.eu_ws)
2. Home (KMC workset)
(pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.km.home_ws)
3.Portal Personalization (workset)
(pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.portal_personalization)
Portal Personalization workset provides the user interface that allows portal users to define their portal preferences from the Personalize link in the portal header area.

  • Enable Home tab in portal

    Hi,
I installed EP7 SP9 sneak preview. When I logged in as Administrator, I am not able to see the "Home" tab and "Personalize" link on the portal. Can anyone tell me how to get these?
I checked the roles and groups. Administrator had super_admin role and had Everyone group assigned to him.

once you assign the standard user role go to content administration-content provided by sap-standard portal users-end user content-defualt framework page-select masthead iview and set yes to show personalize option
    reward points if helpful

  • How eo add default page in portal under home tab in portal

    Hi All,
I have to make one welcome page for my portal the reason behind is that when i log on to portal under Home role theare is no page assigned so blank view is available that looks very dull..
What i want to achive is that to createIview and assign that iview to role so that by default when i log on to portal directly that iview is displyed instead of blank view..
any help will bw appretiated. and rewarded with poinits.
    Regards.
    Vinit Soni

    Hi Vinit,
What you can do is that create the desired Page or iView and assign it to the "Everyone" Group, which is SAP Provided, as this group is by Default added to every user., so automatically when you will login to the portal that page or iView will be displayed.
The Everyone group will already have a role "everyone" assigned under itself. So create a Iview adn assign it to a role say "Welcome Page Role" and add this role to Group "Everyone".
    Hope this helps.

  • BOBJ 4.1 SP2 Launchpad does not show 'Home' tab in the portal running in IE10

We have installed BOBJ 4.1 SP2 and running SAP portal on IE (Internet Explorer) 10.
When we open the launchpad in the portal, it does not open the "Home" tab and instead just shows the menu bar in the 'Documents Tab'.
This works perfectly fine in IE 9.
But when I open the Launch Pad separately in IE 10, I see the Home tab with no issues.
Has Anyone seen this behavior and if so what is the resolution.
    Attached are the images.
    Thank you
    Suman
Below is the image when Launchpad is opened by itself and Home tab can be seen

    Hi Suman,
See kba 1940894 below, this is a known issue with EP and IE10

  • SRM Portal home tab

SRM Portal home tab - the personalization tabs is repeated  6 times - in the 2nd level navigation- how can I fix that

    Hi Azim,
I think the user Id thru which u r logging  into portal has all authorizations made specific to different set of users like purchaser, buyer etc.
I meant ....in the roles assigned againt every user - access to user settings in personalization  might have been included so better have a look at the roles assigned to the user ID

  • Home tab changes are being overriden on every SP upgrade

    Hello,
I would like to put an iView I've created in the Documents section of the Home tab of every user.
In order to do that, I have delta linked my iView to the Documents workset located under: Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->End User Content->Standard Portal Users->Worksets->com.sap.km.worksets->Documents.
Everything is working well the only problem is that this this role (and workset) are managed by SAP therefore after every SP upgrade we are making this document workset is being overridden and I need to set the delta link to my iView again.
On the other hand, I don't want to create my own role and assign it to the Everyone group, I prefer using the Home one already exists.
    Any ideas...?
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
1.Why don't you create an additional Worksets which contains your iview and a deltalink to the SAP Workset? So changes to this SAP workset would affect your workset but the iView would be still there.
2.You could a non-delta-link copy of the workset and add your iView? But changes wouldn't be drawn to your modified workset.
Solution 2 would be best maybe, because SAP wouldn't change this workset so often, i guess.

  • New Window from "FILE- NEW-WINDOW" duplicates all the currently open tabs in the new window. I want new window with just the "Home" tab please?

    Running Firefox 3.6.13 on 64Bit Win7.
I like to group tabs on a topic in a window, and when the tabs get to be too many, or a new topic, I do FILE->NEW-WINDOW and expect a new window with just one default (Home) tab. Instead I get a new window with ALL the tabs of the first window.
I have checked all the Options I could find. Nothing helped. I CAN make a new Window with just one tab if I right-click a link and say "Open in NEW Window".

A new window should only open with the home page(s).<br />
If you see differently then you need to check your extensions.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

  • Firefox loads previous session instead of opening new in home tabs

Using Firefox 21.0 in Windows 8. Everything is set and updated as it should be, but when I open a new browser session it retains all the tabs and history from the previous session. Pressing the home button will open my selected home tabs.

You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Viewing the "News" on the Home tab - Question

    Hello all!
Does anyone know what iView to add to the Home tab so that it displays the News items added in Content Management > Explorer > News ?
    Regards,
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,
You can create e new iView 'Km-Navigation'. In the iView-properties, you have to change the 'path to initially displayed folder' to /documents/News. Use 'NewsBrowser' as LayoutSet.
But would suggest, that you create your own iView (e.g. by copying the existing one) and that you also copy the xml-forms-project. Please find more info on this here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8f/fe743c74fa6449e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
To be able to create new News, you can use the same iView and use 'NewsExplorer' as 'LayoutSet'. You could also create another folder to store your news to avoid any problems with other people using the same iView e.g. for testing purposes.
    Hope this helps
    Kind regards

  • Oracle 11g OMS: Database Instance Home Tab:  Page Refreshed Timezone Issue

Hi all...I've searched the forums and search engines for specific information on this issue, but have not seen a viable solution so far. We have Oracle 11g Grid Control 11.1.0.1
installed on a Solaris V490 using Solaris 10, with an Oracle 11.2.0.1 database.
The Database instance Home tab for all 50+ databases shows the date and time of the 'Page Refreshed' in GMT. The OS and the Agent software both are configured
with the TZ set to US/Eastern. All other page displays e.g. Performance, Availability for Data Guard Standby etc. all show the refreshed time in EDT, it is ONLY
the Home tab for the instance that has the GMT format.
I have not seen any threads or other information that describes specifically how to correct this or even to change it. There are many related posts about the Agent
end.properties, the OS /etc/timezone configuration parameters, the TZ environment variable etc. but in my case they are all set properly.
Does anyone have any additional ideas or suggestions or knowledge about how , or even whether, this can be resolved?
    Thanks!
    DPH

sqlplus ... Connected to an idle instance. That means the database you're trying to connect with is offline, thus the:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not availableNo big surprise there, instance (that you're trying to connect with) is offline.
First, make sure the service OracleServiceXE for the database is running, see the services applet, Start/Run/services.msc and if it does not show "Started" hit the Start button with the OracleServiceXE selected.
sqlplus sys/admin@XE as sysdbaThat connection attempt uses sqlnet to the XE tnsalias. If you're on the database host the ...@XE part is not needed, better to use:
    $ sqlplus /nolog
    connect /as sysdba;
    ... Connected. #if its running
    -- or use:
    $ sqlplus
    ... username: sys as sysdba
    ... password ...
    Connected.
    -- also try
    $ sqlplus system
    ... password: ....
    Connected.
    select name from v$database;
...That also assumes the environment/registry entries have been configured correctly.
tnsping XE ... Attempting to contact [tnsalias connect details] ... OK (10 msec)That tells you the listener is running. It does not mean anything more than your listener is running at the host and port specified for your tnsalias are correct. It does not attempt an actual database connection. So if the database is offline but the listener is running a tnsping will not identify that particuler "problem".
lsnrctl status ... Endpoints Summary ... PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=chilakamarthy)(PORT=1521)))...That bit of info also verifies the listener is running. Again, check your services.msc applet make sure the service shows Started.

  • How can i stretch pictures in picture library webpart and remove the home tab that comes with the site

    Hello people
how can i stretch images to fit into my picture library webpart?
also how can i remove the Home tab that comes with change the look.

    Hi,
    Let’s verify the following:
Whether you use the picture  library web part or Image Viewer web part or Picture Library Slideshow Web Part.
I think you should custom the web part to stretch images to fit into your web part. There is no OOTB method to achieve it.
Whether the home tab is your library name.
To remove the Home tab, edit the web part->Appearance->”Chrome” choose none.

  • Wrong paths in WGM Home tab.  How to correct?

I'm having some trouble with creating home directories on my server. The create button is not working and there are a couple of bad paths in the WGM Home tab. How can I delete these entries in the Home tab and make sure that only valid paths are in there. I am unable to delete a couple, the minus button is greyed out.
Just to provide a little further info, I had DNS running on this server (I think incorrectly) and one of the paths that I cannot delete is a path listing the server with it's DNS name /Network/Servers/ns.eocserver.local/Users/<user>.
The path should be /Network/Servers/eocserver.local/Users/<user>. How do I clean up these entries?

Here's another interesting aspect to my predicament. If I log into terminal, instead of showing:
    eocserver:~ administrator$
for my terminal prompt i get the following:
    ns:~ admin$
My server is called "eocserver" and not "ns" and my DNS is now shut down.
Another curious thing is that now any new accounts that are created load on the client eMacs within a second compared to at least 30 seconds before this all happened. Not sure why that is but that part is awesome. Since the day this server was set up clients have had to wait for at least 30 seconds for their accounts to load on the client machines.
It's like something went wrong and as a result the login process for clients is way better. This is rather disconcerting and I'd like to clean it up but I don't want the lag to return.
