tomcat is running well on my domain and showing welcoming page. the problem is tomcat shows its servlet examples as http://domainname/servlets-examples/servlet/RequestInfoExample
I want to set as http://domainname/servlet/*
please help me

in side the web-apps directory of your tomcat you
will have a folder called servlet-examples
rename it to servlet
inside the same folder you will find the folder
WEB-INF and in the web.xml
you have to rename the
<url-mapping>servlet/RequestInfoExample</url-map
ping>
<url-mapping>/RequestInfoExample</url-mapping>[/
code]

please let me know that i have a *.jar that has all classes. I putted in /ROOT/WEB-INF/*.jar but not working as it uses the /servlet/* path

Multiple XI systems on one host - problems

Hi,
We have a problem when installing a second XI system on the same host.
Symptoms are that the J2EE engine of the first running installation does not work anymore, all java related items either hang or do not start.
The abap stack runs as normal. We do get a lot of shortdumps that say that the programs in the RFC connections are not registered. We do not know whether this is cause or result of the problem.
Our Visual administrator does not start anymore as well.
We shut down the newly installed system of course but this does not seem to help.
Anyone have a clue?

Does your XI environment uses only one or multiple SLD instances?
Do you have access to all your defined business and tech. systems/objects across the XI environment in SLD?

Hosting problem with ear file

Hi I have hosting machine running linux
th java and j2sdkee some files are owned by root and most by uucp
1)what is uucp.
2)I can run the j2ee and i have deployed ear file
I can access the deployed application using
http://localhost:8000/blah/blah ok
but if i try to access the same from
http://www.xxxxxx.xxx:8000/blah/blah it is not working it says this page cannot be displayed (404)
can anyone tell me what is the problem
this is urgent i have to demo this in 2 hrs pl help me out

DB Hosting Problem

I am going through hosting process of my website. I build my db with oracle 9i. i bought a dedicated server which is not managed dedicated server but the hosting company has configured and provided all passwords including root to me as well as the following info provided regarding db

with URL http://domainName.com:5560/isqlplus i am able to create db but facing the following problems:
1. I want to know how i'll import data from my labtop to web db as when am accessing my server and giving command ./imp it asks for login/pass but message appears
IMP-00058: ORACLE error 12546 encountered
ORA-12546: TNS:permission denied
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
2. how can i see the db is connected or not using tomcat
3. i putted the *.jar files from oracle jdbc/lib to WEB-INF/lib but the db driver is not connecting as java.NullPointerException appears to all of my webpages. my connection code is:

To start with you should be developing successfully
on your machine before you do anything at all with a
host service.
So install Oracle on your laptop and figure out how
to do everything there first.I installed everything on my labtop and 100% working. but hosting company didn't provide me the info that where i'll ftp my db data. the other thing despite telling them before that I need this SID but they set up SID as "orcl".
Can I change the SID?

Joining/hosting problems with two particular people

I have a skype issue with just this one particular person, where if I or the particular person try to host a group call, the other person can't join and experience no sound, then get kicked out of the call. Rejoining didn't work, uninstalling didn't work, and different computers didn't solve the issue. Group calls work fine when other people host.

I am also having this problem. I would host and my friend would not be able to connect, same goes vis-versa. We both have stable internet and it gets annoying when we are the only two in call and have to resort to team speak as our calling programm and its not enjoyable. I hope the admins respond to this to clarify what is going on.

URGENT PLEASE: subscription active but illustrator still won't open - possible hosts problem?

My subscription was interrupted (forgot to update my visa card change) but this was re-activated by Adobe yesterday. At that point Adobe UK man said to 'wait 15 minutes' so that the 'subscription renewal' dialogue boxes would no longer apply and I'd be able to access Photoshop and Illustrator again. Unfortunately, he was wrong and the callback he arranged for me later yesterday never came - and so I was left having to call Adobe New York last night instead.
Adobe New York technician accessed my computer and did something with 'hosts'. (I'm not technical but it sounded like the hosts weren't connecting when my sub had been interrupted and simply had to be reconnected again when the sub had by then been reactivated). He got both Photoshop and Illustrator open on my computer and all seemed ok.
After that call, I closed Illustrator but only to find that, when I went to re-open it later, I'm back to the same position that I was in earlier yesterday and which is two Adobe dialogue boxes: first one says "renew your subscription" and then click "try again" which, when I do, gives me the second box and which says: "Subscription to creative cloud is now active. Continue to use your product" but when I click 'continue' it only goes back to the former 'renew your subscription' box again. I'm stuck in Groundhog Day here.
I have had to leave Photoshop open on my computer for fear of this also getting blocked if I close it down.
I desperately need some help because I need to use both software programmes this weekend to finish my course work for my studies' deadlines of this coming week!!.... HELP PLEASE!

Virtual hosts problem

I have an interesting problem. Running CF 7.02
standard on Windows using Apache 2.2 as the web server. I have
multiple name virtual hosts set up on this server. Let's say I have
two sites A and B. A user requests
http://A/default.cfm. They get
http://B/default.cfm but the images
are missing since the server is looking for B/default.cfm's images
in A. This seems to occur on all sites where there is a request to
a page with the same relative path to the webroot as another site
like webroot/default.cfm and a couple of other generic functions
duplicated between sites. Also, thankfully, this behavior does not
occur on what I consider the primary site running CF code or other
virtual sites that have no CF.
The CFIDE mapping in the CF Administrator was established in
the webroot of this primary CF site. From reviewing the access logs
for the different sites, it appears that there is an http request
made followed by access to the CFIDE directory. Since this is
mapped within the webroot of the primary website, it seems like it
is accessing this sites default.cfm instead of the one from the
correct virtual site. The images for this page are missing because
it is looking for the files in the correct virtual site.
The CFIDE mapping for CF MX Standard is set up on
installation and is not configurable through the Administrator so I
have not tried to change this to a different location. Has anyone
else seen a problem like this?

In the administrator in Caching, make sure Cache web server
paths is unchecked. If it is selected, uncheck it and restart CF.
You can also set this in jrun.xml under the
jrun.servlet.jrpp.JRunProxyService by adding:

name="cacheRealPath">false</attribute>

IDisc Pictures hosting problem with Ebay

My pictures are loading and then not loading all day today...started yesterday...they are comming and going....talked to Ebay ..they said since .Mac is hosting there is a problem with .Mac. The pictures have been working fine for last week..nothing has changes...havent moved any files...Pics just started blanking out and all I get is a ? where photo was...then sometimes you can refresh and it will show...sometimes it wont...what is up with that? Newbie with (suprise, suprise) domain hosting problem...

Sorry if this is an obvious problem/solution but I'm new (this week) to the world of Macs!
I purchased a domain name from a hosting site and I have created my own iWeb page.
When I go to register the domain name I get the message below (in bold).
*We are unable to configure domains at this time. Please try again later.*
Is there a problem with the Apple site or is it something else? To be fair the hosting site did say that it can take up to 72 hours before the domain name is 'accessible'.
Any help much appreciated but please remember that I probably won't be able to understand your answer...

Virtual Hosting Problem - SMTP error, POP is fine

Hi all,
I set up my server with this domain: brandingforces.com
Additionally I did managed it to get 9 other domains running.
Everything is working fine, even webmail and POP.
However, on the virtual hosted domain steinberginc.com, I do get this error:
Cannot send message using the server mail.steinberginc.com
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
I am not sure where the problem might be since other domains are sending fine SMTP.
I did set up all domains in SA-mail-hosting-virtual domains...... I listed them without the WWW.
Each domain has one IP for the nameserver and 1 IP as the mailserver (in machine field)
Can someone help me?

my fault. old email settings on mail were still configured on port 26 instead of 25. What were the old settings from the other server.

Change hosting problems

I have just upgraded my domain hosting to enable sending through Virgin broadband on my laptop and now the pushmail is not working. My Incoming POP settings and SMTP Outgoing settings have changed. Has this caused the problem? If so how do I change my Blackberry settings to enable sending and receiving on my B'berry again?
I have another email address with different domain whose settings have not been changed and this is working fine so the problem is confined to my changed hosting. Any ideas?

Indeed, BIS retains record of your email account credentials and other configuration information...if you change that (as you did), then you need to re-configure BIS with the new information. See this:

Inside of the email configuration wizard (or the BIS website), you should have the ability to edit your email configuration. If you can't properly edit it, then delete it and re-create it with the new information.

Virtual Host Problem !!!!!

I have few virtual host on a Iplanet Web server 6.0 SP2 , One of the application / virtual host has stopped running, giving error "page cannot be displayed", HTTP/1.1" 500 335.
I checked the logs as well but the error logs is also not getting any error message.
I am also now not able to run a simple HTML file on this virtual host.
I have other virtual hosts on the same server instance and they are running absolutely fine.
Has anyone faced this kind of problem?

Webutil_host.host problems (bugs???)

Hi,
I'm using the webutil_host.host(commandline) command to execute batchfiles on a client pc. These batch files are also echoing messages to the screen. In the client server version, when I use the host command, the messages appear in my ms-dos box. With webutil they don't.
The same goes for the pause command in a batch file. When there is a pause command in the batch file to give the user the possibility to read the messages on the screen and wait for user interaction, the ms-dos box doesn't respond on my key-stroke. I have to close the ms-dos window by clicking on the upperrightcorner cross.
imo this is unwanted.... Is there a workaround? Or do I have to live with the fact that webutil_host.host != host

i'm using the webutil host command to execute batch files on the client pc. One function of these batch files is to start SQL*loader to read data-files on the client-pc. This is the core of the application, since the data in the datafiles is the base of the rest of the process.
Because this is such an important part it is decided to give outputs to the ms-dos console and put pauses in the batchfile, so the process of reading the data-files can be evaluated.
Since this is a migration traject (moving from c/s to web) my customer doesn't want any functional changes (like outputs to logfiles instead of ms-dos window).

Well, i don't know that much about CORBA but also for CORBA goes that the server you are connecting to should alow you to read local files (in certain directories). If the server is a java program the security setting can be done in the java.policy file or whithin the server program using the java.security package. Check out http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/security/permissions.html for info on that.
