How are POs and Contracts are related?

We are ABAP4 developers and pretty new at MM module.  We would be appreciated if some MM experts here can tell us the relationship between Contracts/RFQs and POs!
Thanks and we will give you points!

A purchasing document is an instrument used by Purchasing to procure materials or services.
The following list shows the various external purchasing documents available in the standard SAP System. (Note: purchase requisitions are not included on this list because they are usually regarded as internal documents used within Purchasing and are therefore treated separately.)
Request for quotation (RFQ)
Transmits a requirement defined in a requisition for a material or service to potential vendors.
Quotation
Contains a vendor's prices and conditions and is the basis for vendor selection.
Purchase order (PO)
The buying entity’s request or instruction to a vendor (external supplier) to supply certain materials or render/perform certain services/works, formalizing a purchase transaction.
Contract
In the SAP Purchasing component, a type of "outline agreement", or longer-term buying arrangement. The contract is a binding commitment to procure a certain material or service from a vendor over a certain period of time.
Scheduling agreement
Another type of "outline agreement", or longer-term buying arrangement. Scheduling agreements provide for the creation of delivery schedules specifying purchase quantities, delivery dates, and possibly also precise times of delivery over a predefined period.

I need SRM tables where data for PO and Contract is stored (similar to EKPO, EKKN etc.).
We will be using SRM 7/

    Hi,
As Rahul said you can get all the table names in BBP_PD.
Here you have the main tables:

  • How do the User and Shared Folders relate to the main drive? Can we delete?

I'm curious how the User and Shared folders relate to the main hard drive and if there is duplicate files in these folders and the main hard drive. Some software programs I have seemed to have loaded content/info into these folders and I'm wondering why they put files in there instead of just the regular main hard drive pathing. These 2 folders are more confusing than anything. I can see that might be of use to a family and each family member wants to keep files in a personal file, but when I'm the only one using my computer, it seems like I should have the option to remove these folders completely, but I don't because I feel like I would be deleting some important files that I wasn't aware were in these folders.
Another thing is, when I click on User folders (at least I think it's the User and not Shared folder), it brings up my name and 'Shared' in 2 seperate subfolders. Is anything in these folders duplicates of what's on my main hard drive? Is there anything significant about these folders if I'm the only user on my computer?
I would nice to get rid of clutter and to eliminate options for software to install things by deleting these folders and not have home/user/shared folders. Is that possible?

Yeah, I'm really low on space, so I'm going about a bunch of different consolidating options. But I mainly posted my main question to help me understand what 'stuff' is in the User and Shared folders and whether or not they act like an Alias, in order to help me make an informed decision what is best for my needs.
They are not aliases; it is a hierarchy, and there is intentional duplication at different levels. This is a feature.
First thing is that Users and Shared are at different levels. Users is at the top level, but Shared is one level inside Users, at the same level as any other user account you have created.
Therefore, if you delete the Users folder, you delete all user accounts, which means you delete all personal data. OS X probably won't even let you delete the Users folder unless you start up from a different hard drive, because you can't delete your user account while you are running in it.
Now, more about the hierarchy. The intentional duplication is so that documents and software can exist for individual users or all users. For example, there are multiple Applications folders:
Hard Drive\Applications - applications any user can see, installed at the system level
Hard Drive\Users\username1\Applications = applications only that user can see
Hard Drive\Users\username2\Applications = applications only that user can see
In the same way, there are multiple Preferences, Cookies, Application Support, etc. folders at different levels, for the same reasons.
If you do not know what you are doing and you delete one of these folders that "looks like a duplicate" you could cripple some essential part of your system or your account. That is why people are telling you not to do this.
The Shared folder is there because if you are in one user account you are prevented from seeing the files inside other user accounts. (Because you don't want other accounts to be able to see your personal data.) If you want to share files with others in your house using the same Mac, that's a problem. But the Shared folder solves this. if you want some files to be accessible to all users, like some photos or music, just put them in the Shared folder and now anyone with an account on that computer can see those shared files.
The reason shared files are not simply stored at the top level is because everything above the Users folder is supposed to be reserved for the system. User-specific are supposed to stay in the Users folder. That is why they put the Shared folder in there.
If you are not using the Shared folder and are just eyeing it because you want to free up some disk space, well, it probably won't help to delete it. Because if you are not using the Shared folder, it is probably not taking up much space, even though you see stuff in there. And if there is stuff in there taking up space, first figure out if someone put it there for a reason before you delete it.

  • Relationship of MA and Contract document

    Hi Guys,
I'm learning how to develop workflow for approving contract. I need to know how the MA and Contract Document work. So when i try to create Contract Document , there is a input to select the MA template. So, when i try to create the MA there is a tab for the Contract Document. I guess that there should be relationship between MA and Contract Document. I want to ask you the following question.
    1. Do MA and Contact Document have dependency on each other?
    2. When creating Contact Document, is it mandatory to have MA as a parent document?
    3. I have seen in example code when developer want to manipulate on Contract Document ex. Save , change phase , add approve, They always get Parent IBean from the Contract Document to do that?
P.S Could you please provide the tutorial link or blog for clearly understanding on MA and Contract Document.
    Noppong,
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    Here are some answers:
    1. Do MA and Contact Document have dependency on each other?
    Yes, they are related.
Master Agreement document is the parent( or container) for contract document and they share a associative relationship.  A Master agreement document can have one or more Contract documents associated with it.  In an assoiciative relationship, the lifecycle of documents are decoupled. Which means master agreement and contract document lifecycles are decoupled, meaning a contract doucment can be edited by one user and a master agreement can be edited by another user at the same time.
    2. When creating Contact Document, is it mandatory to have MA as a parent document?
Yes. contract document cannot stand alone
    3. I have seen in example code when developer want to manipulate on Contract Document ex. Save , change phase , add approve, They always get Parent IBean from the Contract Document to do that?
Because of the relationship, contract document refers to the collaborators in the master agreement/agreement . Contract document supports workflow, where as the master agreement document doesn't.
    Thanks, Baski

  • PO and Contract Conversion

We are implementing the EC scenario in SRM 6.0 using ECC 6.0 as the backend and have a question on conversion. Currently, we have a legacy system which is used for procurement purposes (creating POs and contracts) and would like to convert those documents into SRM. The catch is that the POs and contracts already exist in the backend R/3 system.
How do we convert these POs into SRM and link them to the existing backend POs since we would like the functionality of updating the backend PO if the converted PO in SRM is changed (like in ECS)
This scenario is a bit different from the threads I have read for PO conversion in this forum, so wanted some help and guidance in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    -Bakulesh

    Hi,
My suggestion would be to complete all the POs that are already created in the R3 itself.
Do not try to replicate in to SRM and mess up.
For the new implementation. Create a new number range for the PO in R3 which use the same in the SRM as well.
By converting them to SRM order there is business benefits that the customer is gonna get..Its a major cost to the customer...
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Hi,
can someone advise me some good book or even better a PDF or a white paper on the Web where it's explained well how to design and manage a relational database (that is normal forms, tuning, design, implemantation...)?
I've been working on Oracle databases for a few years as pl sql programmer, but I'd like to read something describing well the relational database theory, because I've been asked to work as database designer. There are many books available in the market, please go through this link -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/books/549646/ref=pd_ts_b_nav
I've been told to read "Fundamentals of Database Systems" by Ramez Elmasri, but I ask here for some more advices.I would strongly recommend reading this book, it was my best reference during my college study and even after starting my DBA career.

  • Can somebody explain to me how java and xml are related?

    Hi guys
im new to java and xml.Been reading a lot regarding java and don't seem to have a problem with it...
the problem is the xml part...im doing a simple GUI project using swing(online store) and i have to convert it to xml

Can somebody explain to me in layman terms
1)how is java and xml related in?
2)why do ppl want to convert java to xml when they can just stick to java

the problem is the xml part...im doing a simple GUI

Sure, XML is useful. But it isn't a programming language so it can't be used as a substitute for Java.
Can somebody explain to me in layman terms
1)how is java and xml related in?They aren't related, except perhaps in that they are both used in computers.
2)why do ppl want to convert java to xml when they
can just stick to javaThey don't.
3)what is actually xml...Start here for numerous definitions:
    http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&lr=&oi=defmore&q=define:XML
4)Do i need a program to create xml like i need
jcreater to create java applicationNo, XML is just text. But then Java code is just text too.
5)How do we actually convert?is there any links that
you guys could tell me?You don't convert Java to XML. My guess is that because you don't know much about Java or XML, you have misinterpreted something that somebody told you.

Open GarageBand's preferences, and under Audio/MIDI set the Input popUp menu to the iMic. You can also set the Output popUp to the iMic if you have headphones plugged into it, otherwise set it to Built-In.

  • HR Qualifications and Proficiencies how are they related ? Which table ?

    Hi all
People have qualifications, qualifications have proficiencies, proficiencies have proficiency scales.
Table HRP1001 contains personel numbers and the qualifiation objects that are related to them.
Table HRP1000 contains loads of objects including the qualifications IDs with object type 'Q'.
Table T77TS holds the Proficiency IDs and text.
Table T77TP holds the Proficiency Scale IDs and Texts
But where (which table) is the relationship between the qualification and its accociated proficiency stored.
In short I am trying to report on people with a particular proficiency level for a particulat qualification but can not make the link between qualification and proficiency. It must be stored somwhere !
    cheers hugh

    Hi
Just to qualify, I'm looking at qualifications associated with an employee, not those associated with a post so I don't think they are in IT0024.
    from Volkers post...
"OTYPE P (person) related to OTYPE Q via RSIGN = A and RELAT = 032
and OType Q is related to Person via B 032"
But what links OType Q or A 032 to a proficiency and proficiency scale ?
    cheers Hugh

  • Full backup ( ~ 1 TB ) using external HD - speed USB vs. Firewire vs. eSATA  - what are relative speeds - how to install eSATA on mid-2010 Mac Pro desktop ( dual hex-core processors)_

        Hi All,
I'm trying to resume regular scheduled Full backup ( ~ 1 TB ) of drives using external HD (to allow off-site redundant backup storage) .
What are relative speeds of USB vs. Firewire vs. eSATA ?
I suspect eSATA connection may be considerably faster … how to install eSATA on mid-2010 Mac Pro desktop ( dual hex-core processors)?
( The quicker and easier backup protocol is, the more likely one is to use it to backup on a routine repetitive basis.)
    Thanks

Adding a USB 3.0+eSATA PCIe card, which The hatter mentions, is the best solution that I've found. See http://eshop.macsales.com/item/CalDigit/FASTA6GU3/. The card is not cheap, but the USB 3.0 works flawlessly (which can't be assumed; ask me how I know) and the eSATA connection allows booting from the connected drive. Grant Bennet-Alder's point about HD speed is important to consider; in addition, the size of the individual files being backed up and where on the backup disk they're going will affect overall transfer speed. For example, using the USB 3.0 connection on that CalDigit card going to a Toshiba 3TB external, the transfer rate for a big file (say a virtual machine file) from an internal SSD boot drive was about 145 MB/sec while a bunch of little files might drop to 30 MB/sec and both rates decrease as an inner partition on the external is used. All told, a nearly 700 GB backup took under 1.5 hours. Using a HD as the source added almost an extra hour, though a WD external was used for that. Using a WD green drive plugged into this http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/FWU3ES2HDK/ with an eSATA connection took about 2.5 hours also, but that was bootable whereas the USB 3.0 connection is not.
Another point to consider is that USB 3.0 is ubiquitous on PC's now so there's lots of price competition for externals; not so much for eSATA externals.

  • How to find how/if two tables are related?

    Hello Frnds,
If there an FM which can tell if two tables are related so that a join can be performed on them and if yes, it can tell on which field they are related?
    Regards,
    Arpit

    thanks,
Rich, tables will be taken as input from user as parameters and hence will be dynamic. I want to use this logic for the purpose where user wud like to know, for example, which all DEL for SO are created by same user. Now in this case I want to know if there is relation between LIKP, LIPS and VBAK. But if user wants to see which all GR were created by same user who created POs, tables will be MKPF, MSEG and EKKO.
SO what I am trying to say is tables will change as per input but I need to before before processing logic, if there any relation exsits between input table at all or not?
    Regards,
    Arpit

  • Anyone any advice on how to stop my mail "activity" from continuously caching? is this a problem? I have had inbox issues recently that are not resolved yet but I am not sure if they are related.

Anyone any advice on how to stop my mail "activity" from continuously caching? is this a problem? I have had inbox issues recently that are not resolved yet but I am not sure if they are related.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • "How are local and state taxes setup/updated when employee's address change

    Hi All
I wanted to know "How are local and state taxes setup/updated when employee's address changes . - How is it done in SAP? -
    Thanks in Advance

This defeats the purpose of trying to centralize SAP-related web resources on the SAP server. Typically IIS/Apache or other non-SAP servers are under the control of IT and not the SAP BASIS group.
We simply would like to have a centralized location to store static web files so that they are not overwritten during Portal support pack applications.

  • Feedback, please. How are these overviews and links to resources working for you?

I've been working lately on providing concise introductory sections in After Effects Help that each give an overview of a topic, provide some related tips, and then give a bunch of useful links to more detailed information.
I'd like to get some feedback on how these sections are working.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/toddkopriva/2009/09/feedback-please-how-are-these.html
If, as I hope, these overviews and collections of tips and resources are helpful, then I'll do more of this kind of thing.

    Hi Todd,
Thank you for all that you have contributed to this board, and beyond. I have looked at, and used some of your resources, and found them to be very helpful. In my particular case, I learn much better through video tutorials, especially ones that include the project file and elements that are used in the tutorial. I'm glad to see you include links to other peoples work, but with your wealth of knowledge and talent, I would like to see you make your own series of video tutorials. I think you could do as good or better than anyone out there at this point. I hope you will at least give it some consideration. Thanks again for all that you do, keep up the good work.
