How are tax calculations or tax updates handled in SAP?

We are implementing Assets and currently using a system that not only calculates the tax on depreciation but also updates any new changes to the taxes as mandated by the federal and state government.
My understanding is that SAP does not auto update the tax changes in the system unless we have a tax software, is that right?  And if we have no need for a tax software just to update depreciation tax changes, what are the options out there that will enable the new tax to be calculated and applied in SAP?
We are looking for an auto option instead of manually updating the percentage rates/tax for calculating depreciation in SAP.  Is there any software that can be interfaced to SAP that can perform this function and enable the calculation of depreciation tax?
Appreciate any input/suggestions or help in resolving this issue.
Thanks

In AM you set-up a separate depreciation are for TAX with complete different rules as your normal depreciation. You can do with it what you want to get the correct values.
Based on your tax requirements you can set this up. If there is a specific question you can drop it on this forum:
You have option like revaluation, inflation, unplanned depreciation, write up...... When you have activated the extension AE-FIN you have some extra options.
There is not a standard for tax changes. You have to know the change and based on that to use the correct option to update the values. There are hundreds of possible changes.

    Hi All
I wanted to know "How are local and state taxes setup/updated when employee's address changes . - How is it done in SAP? -
    Thanks in Advance

This defeats the purpose of trying to centralize SAP-related web resources on the SAP server. Typically IIS/Apache or other non-SAP servers are under the control of IT and not the SAP BASIS group.
We simply would like to have a centralized location to store static web files so that they are not overwritten during Portal support pack applications.

  • How are goals calculated?

    QuestionHow are goals calculated?
AnswerGoals are calculated by the number of dishes cooked and served. Each dish produces a different number of servings, however this is not related to your goal.
One fully cooked and served dish counts as one dish towards your goal.
The number of servings that each dish produces is not related to the completion of any goals.
Remember: you must also serve the dishes you cook. If a dish spoils before you serve it, this dish will not count towards completing your goal.

  • How are u doing after Sec Update 2006-001 ?

    Hey~
i'd like to know how u r doin with ur Mac after installing the Security update...
does this cause any 'unexpected' things....?
please post if u are having problems...

I have install the latest security update from Apple with Software update.
After the installation and the request to either shut down or restart, I pressed "restart" but the machine since then cannot restart.
Instead I get a screen with the message:
    Illegal instruction at %SRR0: etc
    Apple PowerBook5, 1 4.6.2f1 etc
    Welcome to Open Firmware ...
"To continue booting, type 'mac-boot' and press return".
I did type that and press return, but again and again I am ending up with the same rotating restarting progress.
I did tried to reset the PRAM and NVRAM following the instructions from the Apple "support" website, but nothing.
I have restarted the machine from a different partition of the disc with a "clean OS" but nothing is working either.
I tried to restart from the original CD that came with the computer but again no more luck!
Always I am getting the same message.
But, if I was leaving the computer closed for 15-20 mins then It was working. But not any more..
    Any ideas what to do?

  • Fd10n how are sales calculated ?

FD10N has a Sales column. If I double-click on a number in this column, I get a list of line items totalling to this number. How does SAP decide what to include / exclude when calculating the total. Is this configurable?
    Thanks, John

    Hi:
FD10N sales column constitute of total invoices generated through SD module..Invoices routing through SD module are reflected in FI subsidiary ledgers (FBL5N ) with some document type like RV...If you run FBL5N for a particular month all items criteria and filter document type RV and exclude its reversal if any then it should tally with FD10N sales columns..FD10N is a standard report which can not be changed..Hope it will help you.

  • How are minutes calculated?

I get 450 minutes per month. I know for a fact that I have never been on the phone more that 450 minutes or even close in any given month and yet I have gone over the limit . So how is this possible? Is there a glich? Am I getting charged a minute for me and a minute for the person I'm talking to? Am I getting charged three minutes for every minute I talk? (which is very little by the way) Or am I just getting scammed?

  • How are calories calculated?

I've been going on five mile walks and runs and no matter how long it takes me or how fast I go, it still always tells me I've burned the same number of calories (338). I know that if I run 5 miles at 6min/mile, I'm going to burn more calories than if I walk 5 miles at 14min/mile. I think that it simply goes by the distance and does not really take into account the speed. I'm very frustrated by this because I cannot really get an accuarate count of what I'm burning, which is why I really bought this in the first place.

  • How are email series/ loyalty campaigns being handled in BC now? I don't see it as a campaign option?

There are videos and how-tos on Loyalty Campaigns and Email Series but I do not have that as an option within my Email Campaign types, only One-off, Customer Event and Recurring.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as what to do, where to look, or is it depreciated?
    Thank you!

    Hi neuvocreate1234,
I can confirm that this functionality has not been deprecated. The interface may have changed slightly based on the videos you are watching. If you create an email campaign and select 'Customer Event' from the 'Campaign Type' drop-down, you will then have the option to select 'Customer Subscribe Date' and specify the campaign to send after a certain period of time after a customer subscribed to a mailing list.
The option for loyalty campaigns after selecting 'Customer Event' can also be seen from the drop-down as well - i.e. birthdays and anniversary's.
Additional information can also be found in the following document: Loyalty email campaigns - What are they?
    Thanks,
    Matt.

  • How are configuration baseline deployment collections updated?

I created a configuration baseline for a critical update, have a monitor action deployed against the baseline, and created 4 collections against the deployment: compliant, error, non-compliant, unknown.  So far so good....
I then created a fresh deployment against the non-compliant collection to push the update and when I run report ' compliance 6 - -specific software update states (secondary)' for the updates against the non compliant collection I get the rather odd 'update
    is installed'=2.
How is the non-compliant collection meant to be updated by the baseline monitor deployment?  If I update the collection manually it makes no changes to membership
    Thanks
    David

    Hi,
You could check the baselines status in Configurations Tab on the client.

  • How are +Cleared+ Outbound Vendor Cheques / Checks reconciled in SAP?

    Hello,
We get a cheque Cleared file from our bank everyday. in txt format. The file contains details of all the CLEARED cheques on that day. Since we have approx 10 checkign accounts at same bank branch, the file contains list of cleared cheques from all these checking accounts. e.g. checque number, cheque amount, date and chequing account. The bank also sends a second file apart from cleared check file.  The second file contains all other transactions except the outbound cleared checks.
We do not use Electronic or Manual Bank statement functionality.
The project wants to only reconcile the cleared checks file.
    Question:
Is there an SAP program used only to reconcile outbound cleared cheques?
What configuration is required to ensure electronic reconciling of cleared checks?
Any tips / thoughts to help make this functionality work in SAP?
    Thanks

    Dear,
It is possible for you to reconcile without EBS or Manual BS, you can use transaction code FB05 and have to select post with clearing option. You have to run FBL3N for payments and collection bank accounts, if you have main bank for BS then it would be fine for you to know the entries that have been posted.
If it is a payment transaction then you have to use posting key 50 and amount and main bank gl account in FB05 then select process open give payment bank account and enter. This will list you all the items then select the transaction and save the posting.
If you check in FBL3N, here give main bank gl account and payment bank gl account and execute. You will see that a new item have been posted in main bank account and a clearing document in the payment bank account.
The same procedure for collections also.
Note: It would be easy if you configure EBS or Manual BS, as this will reduce the time taken for the end user to reconcile manually.

  • When we run payroll, are the taxes calculated from BSI  or SAP?

    Hi folks,
When we run payroll, are the taxes calculated from BSI software or through SAP since we keep both in sync.
    Thanks,
    Jessica

    Hi Jessica,
BSI TaxFactory provides the tax engine for SAP. SAP passes data to BSI and BSI returns tax calculations to SAP.
Let me know if you need more details

  • SRM 7SC item overview screen -Tax amount is not updated on change of Zfield

    Hi ,
We use z function module for tax calculation , which is updated in table BBP_FUNCTION_MAP.
Which works fine for standard fields changed.
Now if we change one of z field ( which is part of tax calculation in z FM ), tax amount is getting correctly calculated in above Z FM ( we can see in debugging),  but not updated on SC UI screen.
Same will be updated if we change standard field like price , mat grp etc.
Please let  me know , how we can refresh this UI for tax amount in SC.
