Ipad Camera Photo - set to take periodic photos automatically.  Not video time lapse.

In prep for Hurricane Sandy.... I would like to set my ipad to a bayfront scene, set it to take a photo every say 10 minutes, and leave it.  I have tried a couple of the timelapse apps, but they collect the discrete images and create a video.  What I would like as the outcome is a set of photos, as if I had stayed and hit the shutter button every ten minutes from the location.  Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi,
Photos is probably better than iPhoto for personal images, BUT:
I need to make the new Photos app not open automatically every time I plug in an iPhone or iPad or camera into the computer.
I take a lot of photos for work and I import those through the Image Capture App which allows me to import photos into a specific set folder - not my photos folder.
In iPhoto>Preferences>General, set Image Capture as the default camera handler.

Also, related, how do I make iTunes not automatically open when I plug in the iphone/ipad.  I keep my music on one computer and not on my work computer, so it is annoying when I plug an iPhone or iPad into the work computer and it automatically opens iTunes.
In iTunes (with the device pugged in) Preferences, disable the 'Open iTunes when device is plugged in' option.

Finally, what happened to the delete function on the Image Capture app?  It was so easy - import a bunch of photos into a certain folder, then delete those photos off the device through Image Capture.
It's still there (on my Mac)

Videos are not included with the Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
There is not a wireless method for importing videos from the iPad's Camera Roll.

  • HT201272 My camera, photo booth and face time have gone missing

Suddenly my camera, FaceTime and photo booth have disappeared from my iPad.  Also is there a way to upgrade an operating system on my iPad.?

If you can't find them on any of your homescreens or app folders (and it's not a first-gen iPad which doesn't have those apps), and you can't find them via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then are they hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
To update the iOS version, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
    Updating to iOS 5+ : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
A first gen iPad should update to iOS 5.1.1 (it doesn't support iOS 6) and an iPad 2 (and 3) to 6.0.1 (which are the only versions that are 'signed' by Apple) - updating an iPad 2 or 3 to you will remove the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change.

  • IPad saved photos do not appear in iPhoto*

I have about 20 photos (screenshots) saved in my iPad photo album but when I open image capture or iPhoto they both say that there are no photos available for import. How do I transfer these images over? I also have photo sync on in my iPad settings but its not syncing to my desktop.
I am using a first generation iPad.

    Cambb wrote:
They were automatically saved to my 'Saved Photos' album. Id really love to not have to email myself every pic one by one. Seems like it should be easy to do??
It is very easy to do when it works - I have done it quite a few times.
and @Demo, I do have iPad clicked in both iPhoto and Image Capture. Both say I have no photos.
The usual route that I take when these things happen is to quit both apps on the Mac, reboot the Mac, restart the iPad and then try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
See if that helps at all.
If you do have to email the photos - you can do it in 4 emails - but I realize that you want to resolve this issue and I don't blame you!

  • IPad SD photo card not seen

Have photos on an SD card which is inserted in a "Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader" and connected to my iPad Lightning Connector. The manual says a photo app should open and display the photos. I get nothing! I opened the photo and see only pictures I took with the iPad. What am I missing? Yes, I am a newbie to Apple anything.

How did the photos get onto the card (and it's not an Ex-FAT formatted SDXC card) ? If you copied the photos onto the card from yoru computer then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

  • Camera/photo booth not working

Hi. The camers and photo booth applicaions are not responding. although face time appears to work. My only action prior to them not working was to sync with apple and download an update to the ipad software. (version 4.3.5). Have restarted ipad, reset, restored to no affect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try resetting the device (Hold down both the power button and home button at the same time for around 10 seconds until the apple logo appears). If it doesn't work still, do above.

  • IPad Air "Photos" will not start?

When "Photos" icon is tapped, the Home a Page blinks, then nothing.
    Any solutions?
    Much thanks.

    Thank you all.
Last night, another two work related Apps would not open.
    No time to mess around.
Did a full reset and the restored from iCloud.
Got most content back, but not the photos.
Have to reload photos via iTunes or PhotoTransfer.
    Both tedious.
It appears that a 128GB iPad Air bogs down when loaded to 70GB!
    Thanks again.

  • Only photo's & not video's downloaded from my camera?

I downloaded photo's from my Sony camera into Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 & Adobe Premier Elements 12, but video's from my camera did not download.  Why?  And how do I download my video's into Adobe  Photoshop 12?  Need an answer and solution to this problem.

    Hi,
When you open the dowloader, click on the Advanced button if not already in advance mode. Is the option to hide videos turned on?
Which Sony camera are you using?
Since you mentioned Premiere Elements, you may also like to ask the question in that dedicated forum.

  • IPad 2 photo does not have add album option button, how can I add alu

iPad 2 does not have a button to add album, how do I add album with out this?

Then you need to connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes.  Assuming you have been backing up your computer to your computer and iTunes, it will tell you there is an update available for your iPad and ask if you want to update.  Choose yes.  But be advised, upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 is a lengthy process.  Make sure you have enough time.  Turn off your Anti Virus/FIrewall software.  And even when you see the Apps rebuilding back on your iPad screen, do not disconnect your iPad from your computer and iTunes until you are told the entire process is complete.
This link is from when iOS5 was first released.  While the current iOS version is 5.1.1, you should read this as it still would be applicable to you since you are going to the new OS for the first time.  http://www.macworld.com/article/1162925/how_to_upgrade_your_ios_device_to_ios_5. html

  • Can I set my Macbook to open automatically all video files with VLC?

I have some movies that I have download and they automatically open with quick time. But then the message error comes about because it can not open it!
Now my question is can i set the computer to open all Video with VLC?
I have a macbook Mac OX Lion 10.7.
    Thank you

Choose any one of the files you want to have opened by VLC by clicking once on it (highlight it, don't open it).
Right/control click on it and choose Get info. Or press -i
In the Info dialog box, select the pop up menu under "Open with:"
    Choose VLC from the list.
Click the "Change all" button just below. You may need to confirm this.
    That should do it.

  • Delete Canon camera photo not sync

I would like to delete Canon photos from my iPad 4?
Syncing just adds more photos that I have adjusted through Photoshop.
This incompetent iOS chooses what photos it wants to sync and doesn't ask me what I want.
In the iOS where is the delete button to delete Canon camera photos? NOT the iPad photos which are easy to delete.
iTunes gives me a list of movies, music, apps and home share. Where in the world do you find photos to sync and unsync?
I use my laptop as a backup. I don't want to delete photos just to sync with my iPad to delete photos.
Where do you find the name of the photo on the iPad?

No help so far. I tried to follow the above but there are buttons and devices talked about not showing for me.
Here is what is showing on my laptop for iTunes 11.0.5.5
1)Top left is a button that takes me to iTunes player preferences - nothing in there
2)Next line is the player control for back play forward and a slider button for sound then an Apple then a search box - no help on this line
3)Next is Flie View Edit Controls Store Help - nothing in there to delete Canon camera photos
4)Next is a button that allows me to check Movies Music Apps Home sharing - nothing for those buttons
same line unwatched movies genres home videos list - nothing to delete photos
same line a button that said iPad until I clicked it and it disappeared? setting in iTunes is taken off of autosync(back on after starting iTunes and it is autosyncing) then the last button is iTunes store
To sync photos from a Mac or Windows PC to your device using photo applications
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.  ****11.0.5.5****latest version****
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left. ****Where is the devices icon****See above for Line 4****
Delete photos and videos from your device manually. Open the Photos application, open the Camera Roll, tap the Action button, tap each photo to select it, and tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save for later, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
Will not work for pictures taken with a Canon camera. Will work for pictures taken with the iPad camera.
I opened Photos on the iPad
First line is showing the iPad wifi then the time in the middle and far right is bluetooth battery
Next is three buttons Photos - Photo stream - Albums then on the right are the buttons slideshow edit
No where in iTunes can I find anything to do with changing folders or albums or syncing or choosing a device.
Way too complicated just to TRY AND DELETE a few Canon camera pictures.
I guess it is way more difficult to have a picture file manager built in to the iOS. How did the Apple programmers do it for their OS? They don't have to sync with iTunes.
    Simplicity with iTunes equals chaos.
I can't figure this iPad and iTunes out when there are missing buttons.
    Picture file manager for iOS7?
