How can I measure input voltages on a 7330 board and UMI 7764 with LabView?

Hi,
I would like to use LabView with the Motion Card 7330 card. Since both are NI products I wondered if such is possible, rather than just use the NI Motion software. I would like the ability to use some VI's that I make.
Also, how can set up LabView and/or NI Motion to record voltages on the inputs? And how do I tell the card that the voltages I want to record are in the 0-10V range? I understand there are different configurations such as measuring -5 to 5 V or 0 - 10V, etc, and I just want to make sure I don't damage the card by putting in 8 V on the input, for example.

       Basically, a limit switch or a home switch is a physical sensor that sends a signal whenever the system reaches that point. So if there is a default position, or "home", then you would put one of these sensors there so that when the motor or stage is in this position the system software will recieve the signal and know. Limit switches are the same and are to prevent the system from going past the limits.
      You mentioned that you were looking in the installation guide. This is a great resource to get started but only scratches the surface. When you install the driver, NI-Motion, it will install to the programs list (Windows Start button >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-Motion) a directory for documentation. In this folder you can find the complete manual for motion; as well as, documentation for all of the boards. This is a default, if for some reason you don't have it these manuals can also be found online. Cross-referencing the motion and the motion controller manuals should get you most everything you need to know. If not, then a search at NI.com is also helpful. You could use the general search and select support or there is ni.com/kb for all of the knowledgebase articals There are lots of tutorials on Devzone about motion basics and programming.

Before you make an apple ID with the new email, go to appleid.apple.com. login with your old email and password. change your old email to your new one. Now you can use your new email as your apple id, but beware if you go through the process of creating a new appleid with your new email address you will not be able to attach your old account to your new email.

I am using a 4SX-411 nu drive to control my stepper motor. I need to measure an input voltage at the digital I/O port of the nudrive. How can I program LabVIEW to do that?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. NUDrive 4SX-411 is a value motion drive and you can connect to it using any of the ValueMotion boards. When using a ValueMotion NUDrive with steppers you have I/O ports 1-4 available for general purpose use, I/O ports 5-8 are reserved for axis inhibit output signals. Refer to section 4-7 of the ValueMotion Hardware User Manual linked below, for information about the jumper settings.

How can i measure the time between a pulse output and a pulse back on the input?

I have a problem i use a ultrsonic sensor, and when i send a pulse out of 4V then a couple of ms i have a pulse back on the input, how can i exactly know how much time there is between the 2 ^pulse??

Use the output pulse to trigger a counter in period measuring mode and stop the counter on the return signal (if the input return signal is large enough to reliably trigger a logic circuit). If the signal is not large enough to trigger the counter directly, an external comparator can be used to generate the stop signal.
Another approach is to use two channels of analog input. Feed the output signal to one of them and the return signal to the other channel. The time between outgoing and return pulses can be determined from the sampling rate. If precise timing is required and your AI board does not have simultaneous sampling, you have to account for the inter-channel time as well.

I am new with LABVIEW need help urgently, and want to plot the stirling engine cycle PV graph, I have mounted suitable hardwares to the engine, pressure sensor with range of (0v-to5v) and position metet of range(0v-to10v) I have aquired both pressure and volume signals by DAQ assistant and BNC 2110. they are smoothly like sinusoidal waveform. How can I divide and measure at least 20 instantaneous voltage in one cycle and record the obtained data in two arrays for feeding XY graph wave form??. I have attached a simulation of idea for clarification. please attach your suggested code if you can thank you.

Hi,
If I get you right, you need to acquire signals from two sensors simultaneously and present the data in a xy graph.
So you should write your data from one whole cicle to two arrays, build a xy graph from that data and plot.
Since your new to LabVIEW I strongly recommend you to spend some time on the basic principles. This is a good start.

PCI 6602:How can I use the digital lines of the board and in the same time to generate pulse train using a counter?

My problem appeared when I tried to update my code from Traditional NI-DAQ Legacy to DAQmx.
I am using 2 counters (counter 5 and counter 7) from PCI-6602, to generate pulse train, and also the Digital I/O lines of the port 0 (the lines form 0 to 7). What I do in my application is that I am starting to generate the pulse train on the output of the 2 counters, and after that I am playing with the state of the digital lines.
In traditional there was no problem using the counters and the digital lines in the same time, everything was going perfectly, but in DAQmx this is not possible.
What happens: I start to generate pulse train on the output of the counters, no errors encountered, but when I try to modify the state of one line of the digital port the generation of the pulse train is stopped. This is happening when I start the task associated to the digital port.
My question is: it is possible to create a channel on the digital lines without altered the channels created for the counters?
Another thing what I manage to see using the "Measurement & Automation Explorer" and Test panels for PCI-6602, basically is the same thing, I generate pulse train on the output of the counter 7 and try to start a task on the digital line, but I get one error :
"Error -200022 occurred at Test Panel
Possible Reason(s):
Measurements: Resource requested by this task has already been reserved by a different task.
Device: Dev4
Terminal: PFI8"
Instead if I use the counter 0 or counter 1 to generate pulse train I don't encounter the same problem.
Which resources are used by the counters 2 to 7 from the PCI-6602 board and the counters 0 and 1 do not use?

You can manually enter the path to the 2012 feed and it will connect and download the RemoteApps and Desktop connections.

How can I get iTUNES library to display renamed files and folders (renamed with Windows Explorer)?

How can I get iTunes library to display the new names and organisation of tracks and albums (ie files and folders) that I have renamed and reorganised (using Windows Explorer) having previously imported them using iTunes?
(Even when I relocate "lost" tracks in iTunes (using the drop down menu facility to view in Windows explorer), although iTunes will then play the track, and knows where to find it, it refuses to display the track with its correct (new) name, or show it the correct (new) album. That means I have lots of things called "Untitled" and "Track 01" etc, all of which have actually been renamed, but iTunes does not seem to have the capability to recognise the changes and update its library listing. Another example - a Tchaikovsky CD with 3 major works in 13 tracks insists on displaying in iTunes as 13 tracks in one album, despite the fact that I have reorganised the tracks into 3 albums - two being Swan Lake and The Nutcracker - and renamed the individual tracks to a more useable format.)

I agree with Tgod that your first solution does not work. It appears unpredictable whether the old or new file names are listed when you drag the folders into iTunes from Windows Explorer. The folder structure is completely missing. I reckon if you have to muck around spending days/weeks/months finding out how to fix links to a secret meta-file (obviously designed by some deep-cover microsoft worm working in the Apple!), then it's pretty obvious that almost any alternate way of doing this would be better. Bye bye iTunes!!
Incidentally, I tried several other things that (if the software was designed intuitively) should work, but give disastrous results:
1) when deleting the library listing in iTunes, it gives you two options - one is to remove the listings to the Recycler. Be aware that IF you select that option, it removes not only your library listing, but also your ACTUAL MUSIC FILES to the Recycler. Moreover, it does NOT remove the insidious secret meta-file that is what apparently keeps rewriting old names over your carefully renamed file names, and keeps totally ignoring your carefully designed folder (album) structure. OK - not a complete disaster, as I realised and went hunting through the chaos in the Recycler to recover all my files. No thanks to the genius who designed this brilliant feature!
2) after deleting the library listing in iTunes, I attempted to import just the folders that I wanted. iTunes refused to allow me to do that, and proceeded to try to import every frigging music file it could find on my whole hard drive, in apparently random fashion into the library. Whoever thought up that doozy either never ever tried to use or market test it, or has modified their mind rather too many times with artificial substances so their brain is like muesli chop suey.
3) oh why go on, it's too depressing ...

How can I make DAQ VIs visible when using NI-DAQ 4.9 with LabVIEW 6.0?

My operational system is Windows 98, I am using a AT-DSP2200 card and is configured. I have installed a NI-DAQ 4.9 (the last for this card) and I use Labview 6.0, but I can not find the DAQ VIs on the functions palette. How can I solve this?

That version of the driver is too old to work with Labview 6i. The oldest version of NI-DAQ that one can combine with Labview 6i is version 6.1.
You will need either to use another version of Labview, or to investigate a replacement hardware that you can use with newer versions of NI-DAQ.

How can I have an object toggle between fade out and fade in with button?

Hello all,
I have a problem and I was hoping someone out there could help me out with it.
I have smart shape that is set to show for "rest of project" on one of my early slides. It is not visible in output in the properties, but when a user clicks a button in the project, it should fade in and then stay visible. If the user clicks the same button again, it should fade out and stay hidden. So rather than toggle between show and hide, which I know how to do, I want it to toggle between fade in and fade out. I am having trouble with this. Setting its transition to fade in and fade out in the properties of the smart shape doesn't help...
Here is the advanced action I have attached to the button that should allow the user to toggle between fade in and fade out. The "if" parts works -- the object fades in and then finally "shows" at 100% the "else" part almost works. It fades out, disappears, but then shows again, which I obviously dont want it to do. I want it to stay hidden.

Adobe Drive software doesn't store images; it enables integration of a DAM system with Creative Suite and now Creative Cloud desktop apps.
Adobe Drive 3 is the first version of the software to support integration with Adobe's DAM. This version was designed to work with CS5 and CS5.5 apps.
We do not have a version of Drive that supports integration with CQ 5.4 DAM and CS4 apps.

The update rate on the AI-102 module is 360Hz, which means that you can only accurately acquire waveforms with frequencies below 180Hz.
FieldPoint wasn't made for high speed measurements, so you will have to make sure that you are able to acquire the waveform you want to with the hardware that you have.
If you want to know how you would do the acquisition, I urge you to take a look at the LabVIEW shipping examples.

3.1.1 Stereo line-up tones
All stereo tracks must use EBU 1KHz tone (left ident). All tones must be sinusoidal, free of distortion and phase coherent between channels.
Digital Audio Reference level is defined as 18dB below the maximum coding value (-18dBFS) as per EBU recommended practice R68.

As a newcomer to digital sound (my background is camera) I confess to being somewhat confused. We are normally told to record at the highest level possible. So for voice podcasts I tend to record at about -6dB below peak for maximum volume, distributeds on MP3 files.
But I can underatand that televison and radio especially for analogue transmission) may have limited headroom, hence the requirement for -18dB peak = 0dBM.
I remember when we first rented out Digital Betacam cameras, some recordists were recording almost everything OVER -18dBM.
I suspect that until we have an all-digital world, these requiremnents will still be in place.
