I got a new iPod Nano for my 80-year-old father who lives with me. I already uploaded his cds to my iTunes account, but when I connected the new iPod to my Mac to put his music on it, the program automatically named his iPod with MY name. I want to differentiate it from my iPod Nano, but it never gave me a chance to give his iPod his name instead of mine. He will not have an iTunes account; I will handle uploading his music and managing his iPod for him, but I need it to set up under his name, not mine. My iPod, iPhone, iPad, etc. all sync automatically with my entire iTunes library. I only want to selectively upload music to his iPod. How can I rename what iTunes is calling his iPod? My mistake, it was nothing to do with format. It woldn't sync because my movies were HD. HD movies won't sync to an iopd classic 160 GB but when you purchase a HD movie, itunes gives you a SD vervsion of the movie which is compatible with the ipod. Just needed to go to store, click movies, click purchased and untick the HD box and there you have the SD versions. Download the SD versions and then sync your ipod and bobs you uncle, movies are on the ipod

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

If you haven't, try updating through iTunes while connected to your syncing PC.

How can i exchange for the new design

Last year my sister purchased a ipod shuffle 3rd gen, for my 10 yr old daughter. She bought it from Target and spent $145.00 at that time. Shortly there after i became aware apple had replace this 3rd gen shuffle with a new design. One that is more user friendly, especially for my 10 yr old. I have to say we have been very disappoint with her ipod for several reasons.
1. there is no face so you cant see what your doing
2. you must memorize the amount of clicks in order to operate it.
3. we have only been able to upload new music to her ipod once since she got it a year ago. Even with online tech support,reading online forums,owner manuals, help from family and friends. To no avail.
She has it still in the box neatly packed away. Its used as a show piece on her dresser to show that she has an (ipod). Neadless to say she does not use it,does not like it mainly because there is no display panel which make it very difficult for her to function.
So how can i exchange/replace the old design ipod shuffle generation 3 for the new design.

How can I turn off the New Mail alert on my iPod Touch?

I have an iPod Touch (version 6.1.3). The other day I was waiting for an important e-mail, so I turned on the New Mail alert. It worked fine. Now I want to turn it off, but I can't. I went into Settings and then to Sounds and changed the selection from the sound I'd selected ("Bell") to None. It says "None" but every time I get a new e-mail, it still makes the bell sound.
I also tried going into Notifications and then to New Mail Sound and setting it to "None" but that didn't change anything
Any ideas what I'm missing?

Try removing the mail totally from your notifications center.

I've been exploring this question, too, since I just bought a new iPod nano as a gift for someone with an older G4 iMac with Firewire and USB 1.0 ports. VERY frustrating that for the sake of a cable, Apple doesn't seem to allow this! The computer isn't that old!
I'm still looking for a solution, which I am convinced should be out there somewhere. Here's what I've found and questions I hope someone can help with:
The Apple store has a dock to firewire connector that doesn't work with the new ipods apparently, and a Y-cable that includes FIrewire and USB 2.0 (M9688G/A) for older ipods. There is also a dock to Firewire cable for G4 ipods/ipod mini, etc. (M9127G) What is so different about the dock connector on new nanos that disallow these cables to work?
What about using the current Apple Universal Dock with the dock to Firewire cable or the Y cable above. Shouldn't that work? Dock fits nano, FW cable fits computer. Am I missing something here? I'd rather not spend $70 more to make synching possible, but if it would work...
Has anyone tried these solutions or are there any 3rd party solutions available (this seems a ridiculous problem, considering FW is an Apple technology that is still current -- we're not talking about SCSI here!)? TIA

How can I avoid using the new Pages

For now I have chosen to forgo using the latest versions of Pages & Numbers and prefer thier predecessors. However the newer versions are opened by default when downloading/clicking on DOC & XLS as well as .PAGES & .NUMBERS files. I know how to use the "Open With" command but I'd rather avoid those extra steps. Can I either re-name or hide/move the new versions of these programs so they won't launch inadvertantly. I suppose I could delete them altogether and reacquire them later on. (Eventually I'll come around to using them but not now.)

I have messed up Pages 5 and now all I have on my Mac is the old pages 4.? When I go to the App Center it tells me that the new Pages is installed. But I have corrupted it somehow and need to download it again. How do I do that when the App Store tells me it is already installed?
