How CAn I Use a URL variable in Flex App

Let say the link to a web page embedding a flex 2.0 app is
http://www.myname.com?name=Bruce
and I need to use the URL.name variable in the Flex app.
How can I access URL parameters inside my Flex app?

Apple does not transfer content bought with one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple will not merge two Apple IDs.
If most of your content was bought with the Yahoo! Apple ID but you now want the Gmail address for your Apple ID, the trick will be to change the address used for the Yahoo ID with the Gmail address. However, to do that you must first free the Gmail address from that other Apple ID. Use the instructions from Apple to substitute another address that is not used as an Apple ID for your Gmail address in the Apple ID with the Gmail address. Then, when the Gmail address is no longer used in an Apple ID, you can use the same instructions to substitute the Gmail address for the Yahoo address in the Apple ID with the Yahoo address.

How can I use a public variable inside a CachedResultSet

The public variable that I declared cannot be called inside the CachedResultSet class....
Heres a part of the code:

How can I use Server level variables in a business model based report

hi gems..
I have declared one server level variable in the BI Analytics repository.
Now I have made one business model based report.
In one column I want to use that server level varible.
I go to the formula tab of that column and then clicked on variable--> session --> put the name of the variable and click ok.
But when i viewed the report, it is not showing the dates, rather it is showing the date format I chosed i.e DD-MMM-YYYY.
please help..

actually the previous problem got resolved...
Now when I am trying to apply a filter on a particular column using that server variable, then it is showing that the varible has no value definition.
I have clicked on the filter tab of that column-->add-->variables-->session variables-->then I put the name of the variable-->click OK.

I have a desktop that operates using with Vista.
I downloaded 10.5 and sought to sync my two iphones and two ipads with the desktop in order to use ICloud. However I got warning messages that if I synced with this computer that had none of my extensive library of apps, music, podcasts, etc. would be on it, I would lose it all.
I did authorize the computer. I knew enough to do that but am terrified that I will lose everything that I have accumulated and still won't be able to use ICloud.
Isn't there a way to do this? Shift my library FROM my devices to the desktop?

This is a tedious solution, which is stupid! And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!

You can't transfer purchases from one account to the other. Your friend had no right selling you the iPod with purchases on it made from his account.

When you redeem an iTunes gift card it is simply added as credit to the Apple ID of your choice. Once it is on the account as credit it can be used for anything you can purchase with your Apple ID (apps, music, movies, rentals... Anything ).

You have the choice between 2 topologies when creating your AWS account in Cloud Manager:
1) Development/Testing
2) Staging/Production
In order to preserve your DNS record from changing and have it always pointing to your site, you need to use the Staging/Production topology that includes an ELB in front of the Dispatcher instance(s). In this scenario, you need to point your DNS CNAME record to the DNS name associated with the ELB, that you can retrieve from the AWS console (will be added to Cloud Manager UI soon). Even when you pause/start your cloud, the ELB remains up and running, therefore after restarting your cloud the mapping of your DNS CNAME record to the ELB DNS name will be functional with no delay.
Using the Development/Testing topology, every time you pause/restart the cloud from Cloud Manager, the IP address of the instances change because it is using dynamic IPs. Therefore, even if you point your DNS CNAME record to the name of the instance (ex: mysite.com pointing to mysite.adobecqcloud.com), it will take some time for the new DNS/IP mapping (mysite.adobecqcloud.com / new IP address of Dispatcher) to propagate. Note: there is no ELB configured for this topology.
The main reason for using this method is to eliminate the need for using EIP address (static IP address) when it's not really necessary and because they are hard to get from Amazon. But it's also for not paying for EIP address when they are not used (cloud is paused/stopped).

How can I use GestureRecognizer in a Xaml based app?

I've encountered a problem when I'm trying to use gestures in my app:
I'm trying to retrieve info from input on a rectangle using GestureRecognizer responding to the PointerPressed event. When the user taps on it, the textblock shows information. However, I failed to get any info after following the code samples.
There was no response and through debugging, I found the tapped event was not responded to.
First, I added:

User Variable Options: How can I use them in a Business Rule?

How can I use a "User Variable" set in File / Preferences in a Business Rule? It doesn't seem to appear as an Essbase Substitution Variable or as a Global Variable of Business Rules. The only way I know how to use it is to place the dimension on the POV or Page dimension of a data form, then use a Global Variable in a run time prompt to pick the member and run a BR against it, or some function of it.
What do I do if I want to have that dimension in Columns or Rows? How can I set a BR to directly reference the member chosen under User Variable Options?

Thanks Alp, but I can't seem to reproduce what you are writing below. I want to refer my Business Rule to address the value set in File / Preferences / User Variable Options; no matter what members I show elsewhere in the data form.
My other workaround is through a run time prompt and hope the user selects the appropriate user variable at the very bottom of the selection list in order to calculate the appropriate list of members.

How to insert delay without using loops, and how can I use variable to store data in labview

I am new to Labview and I realized that quite often I am in condition to require a delay beween two functions or elements.. how can we insert a delay in such cases?
I know how to use delays in a loop. but don't know how to inser some time delay between two elements.
I have one more question, I know its a bad practice to post 2 questions in 1 thread.
How can I use a temporary variable to store data, So far I am storing it in an indicator by making it invisible in front panel and making local variable of that indicator, is it the right way to do it ?

Generally, LV doesn't have variables in the same sense that most languages do. You can use indicators to perform the same function as variables, but as Adnan pointed out, you run the risk of having race condition and it creates data copies, which is a problem if you have a lot of data. In most cases, you should use wires to perform the function of variables, which is to store data and make it available to the different functions in your code. Instead of thinking about variables, you need to think about data (something like "I have the data coming out of this function. Where does it need to go?").

This is pretty comnonly done with saving the values to an ini file. A more professional version would be saving to a network database so everyone could have access to the information at any time and without needing to run your program.
