How can I validate a RT image before apply to the target?

Hi,
    Is there a way to validate a RT image before apply to the target? I want to make sure at least it is a RT image not some other kinds of files are wriiten to the target.
    Thanks!
   Tom

For what class of controller?
Regardless of the answer, you generally want to check to make sure specific files exist - generally those that reside in the root directory of the image.  For PXI controllers and x86-based cRIOs, you're looking for ph_exec* files.  For PPC-based cRIO controllers, you're looking for a vxworks and target.out file, and for Linux-based cRIOs you'd be looking for linux-specific files.  Absence of those files would tell you that the image is DEFINITELY not a legal image.  The presence of those files doesn't necessarily mean it's legal, but it's certainly a lot closer than just some random grouping of files.

    Bridge is categorically NOT "editing software".  It's just a file browser, no more and no less.  Period.
    Bridge does not "edit" anything.  Bridge doesn't even open anything.  It just hands files to the appropriate application, whether this be Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, or even Microsoft Word.
    No, there will most likely never be "an update" for this.

  • How can I make an imported image smaller without changing the size of the canvas?

    After downloading some free icons, I used the drag and drop method to bring the icon of my choosing onto a blank canvas that is 313x188 pixels. The image is larger than I need it to be, so I need to make the image smaller while keeping the canvas size at 313x188 pixels. I've tried several things after googling it, but have not had any luck. Help; I'm still learning! Thanks in advance!

    ctrl/cmd-T will bring up transform. Then just drag the handles to size it - hold the shift key to constrain the aspect ratio.

  • How can I validate a dropdown box to NOT accept the default value?

    I have a fillable form where I need the user to select their "Number of Employees". I have added several ranges as their options in a dropdown box (1-10, 11-25, 26-50, 50+). My issue is the "defult value" is set to "1-10" and people submit it without changing it to the correct value.
    I have changed the default value to "--Select One--", but it still lets them submit the form with that value entered.
    I am assuming I need some sort of validation script that will basically say - "If the value in this field is --Select One-- do not submit the form, but give an error that says 'please select your number of employees" or something along those lines.
    Basically I just want them to pick something as opposed to just submiting it with the default value.
    I have looked all over and am not very good with JS.

    You can not have the default value set to a real possible value. You need a value that should be selected.
    Then for your submit script you need to test all of your required fields to make sure they are not at the default value.
    You make a variable that assumes all the required fields are completed and then check each field and if any one still has the default value you set your variable to "false" and then when you have checked all the fields you test your variable's value and only if it is true to you submit the form.
    var bSumbit = ture; // logical variable for submission test
    // test drop down # of employess
    this.getField("Number of Employees".).required = false; // clear required property
    if(this.getField("Number of Employees".).value == "--Select One--") {
    bSubmit = false;
    this.getField("Number of Employees".).required = true; // set required property
    if(bSubmit) {
    // your submit acation;
    } else {
    app.alert("Not all required fields properly completed", 0, 1);

  • How can I validate an X509Certificate ?

    I'm not really sure of what makes a certain cetificate different from a certificate that I create in my comupter... I mean, how can I validate that a certain certificate belongs to the entity it says it belongs to?
    Is my question clear enough?
    I hope someone can help me with this...

    Hello,
    You do not validate certificates per say, they are either valid or they are not.
    Certificates contain a certificate chain/path leading back to a certification authority. Your computer/java has a list of trusted authorities. If the afore mentioned path does not lead back to one of them, authenticity (of software/documents) amongst other things can not be gauranteed. In this case, you would contact the publisher of the cert and verify it is them by comparing keys.
    Yes you can create you own certificate and distribute it, but you will be the one to handle all requests to verify that the pub.key in the cert is actually yours.
    I hope this has cleared it up... and is accurate for that matter (if anyone cares to point out).
    Warm regards,
    Darren

  • How can one place a single image on a spread? CS3-MAC

    Hi all,
    i How can one place a single image on a spread? CS3-MAC
    A very straight forward question I think. I just never did it before. Anyone knows of a fast technique of doing this? I have to make 70+ images this way. Could it be scripted?
    thanx in advance
    Michael

    You'll need to be more specific. Placing a single image on one spread is drop-dead simple. File > Place, choose file, click (or click-and-drag) to place, scale and position as desired. You can ask about scripting in the
    scripting forum.
    You might not need to script this to get efficient use of time. Make a picture frame on the master spread and then insert 140 pages (70 2-page spreads) based on that master. File > Place, and select all 70 files. (They need to be in one folder. Click on the top file, scroll down, lick on the bottom file.) Zoom out and click once on each spread to place each image. Should work faster that writing, testing, debugging, and running a script.

  • How can i save an extracted image to be able to edit it

    How can I save an extracted image in pse9 to be able to edit it - i.e. move it around on the layer to another spot and also to be able to resize it to make it bigger or smaller before repasting it back into another image/background?
    Thanks

      A really simple method is to use the quick selection tool to outline a person or object in a photo. Holding down the alt key changes the tool action from plus to minus - so you can perfect your selection as you go along (e.g. if you accidentally select part of the background)
    When you are happy with your selection of the person or object press Ctrl+J - this will automatically create a new transparent layer with your selection as shown by the checkerboard background.
    You can then add any other picture or background - here I’ve used a simple green background to illustrate the point by selecting Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color
    I then clicked on the transparent layer in the layer pallet and dragged it to the top - to reveal the green background behind my person selection.
    I then selected the hand tool and the bounding box appeared - by holding down the shift key you can drag the corner handles or sides of the bounding box to resize and then click the green checkmark to confirm OK. You can then drag the image to any position in the frame of your chosen background. Save as PSD to keep your layers for later or click Layer > Flatten Image to save as Jpeg.
    Click to view

  • How can I scroll around an image if its zoomed out?

    Hey guys, quick one for you.
    I have no problem using the hand tool/spacebar to scroll around an image when zoomed into it, but as soon as I can see the whole thing I can't scroll around anymore and its just locked to the center
    I am a After Effects user so I find this a bit annoying that I can't do this, so I figure there MUST be a setting somewhere I could change to enable it.
    Thanks!

    Sorry but "How can I scroll around an image if its zoomed out?" has got to be one of the stupidest question I've heard on this forum in some time. Brandon really needs to think before posting.
    I've noticed your usual vitriol toward people having simple questions has ramped up about 200% since the advent of Jive, Buko. Maybe you need to disengage, or neck some holy fermented blue agave juice and take a nap?
    I see the question as perfectly cromulent, and I use the suggestion I've given quite often. Apparently, a good reason why anyone would want to do that has escaped you, and it's made you even crankier than usual. So you react by giving the gift of vile condescension instead of just ShuttingTFU and letting someone else handle it. (Next time you blast Ramon for the same thing, take a look at your own behavior). And apparently, it's not enough for you to just accept that the way someone else wants to work is different than your workdflow, or is something that never even occurred to you. Maybe some folks just want an answer to their question, and secretly wish you'd shove your bad attitude up your [asterisk-substituted name for your lower-dorsal body opening]. Of course, some folks are just too polite, or they're new visitors here and won't say that to you because they don't know the legacy players and behaviors here. But I'm not either of those things, and I will. Because if you can dish it out, surely you can take it, right? RIGHT!?!?
    Now...why do I think the question is worth answering? Sometimes I want to be able to have an entire smallish image visible at 100% magnification in order to view it as it will appear in its final destination. AND I want to do some work on it while keeping all my currently-open Palettes visible; maybe I want to move my image out of the way of a big dialogue box I've called up. (I'm only working on one monitor...sorry if that makes your hardened jaw drop down to your chest).
    In Single-Window made mode I'd have to grab and move the whole window, but I can't do that if I have a big dialogue window open. In full screen mode I can scroll around and see all parts of that image at 100% without having to Tab my palettes to their hidden state, or shove my open dialogue nearly off-screen.
    Think past your own nose, Dude! And LightenTFUp!

  • How can I validate a date field in Portal Forms

    I have a date field in portal forms that I want to perform validation on to make sure it's in the proper format before being accepted (mm/dd/yyyy). How can I validate against that field?

    Hi Ben,
    I took the time to test and revise. This is code that will validate a date entry (format MM/DD/YYYY). Just paste this in the "Before the start of the form..." window of the Additional PL/SQL code section of the form. Then add validateDate(); into the onBlur event window of the field in question. Replace the CYCLE_END_DATE with the field name in question.
    HTP.P('
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE=javascript>
    function validateDate() {
    var ddObj;
    var mmObj;
    var yyObj;
    var day;

    var year;
    var field_val;
    var field_name;
    for (var j=0; j < document.forms[0].elements.length; j++) {
    field_name = document.forms[0].elements[j].name;
    field_val = document.forms[0].elements[j].value;
    if (field_name.substring(field_name.indexOf(''DEFAULT.'') + 8, field_name.lastIndexOf(''.01'')) == ''CYCLE_END_DATE'') {
    var delimPos = field_val.search(/\//i);
    if (delimPos < 0)
    alert(''Invalid date entry! Please enter in MM/DD/YYYY format. '' +
    ''e.g, Dec 21, 2003 would be entered as 12/21/2003'');
    else
    if (field_val.length != 10)
    alert(''Invalid date entry! Please Please enter in MM/DD/YYYY format. '' +
    ''e.g, Jan 1, 2003 would be entered as 01/01/2003'');
    else {
    month = field_val.substring(0, field_val.indexOf(''/''));
    day = field_val.substring(field_val.indexOf(''/'') + 1, field_val.lastIndexOf(''/''));
    year = field_val.substring(field_val.lastIndexOf(''/'') + 1, 10);

    month = month - 1;
    ddObj = new Date(year, month, day);
    mmObj = new Date(year, month, day);
    yyObj = new Date(year, month, day);

  • How can I restore a single image from an aperture time machine backup, do I have to restore the entire library? that does not make sense

    I hope there has been found a more efficiant solution for this,  how can I restore a single image from an aperture time machine backup, I really hope I don't have to restore the entire library? that does not make sense
    any suggestions?

    Did you try browsing your backups in the Finder ?  That is, do not go and "Enter Time Machine".  Instead, navigate to your Time Machine backup via Finder and then manually go to the time period (by folder name) you are looking for ... when you find your Aperture library you can then "Show Package Contents" and find the Master you are looking for.

    How can I keep a photo image from fading away on my tv using apple tv?

    Thanks for you reply.  When I paint, I bring up the photo as you suggested.  I begin painting.  After about 10 minutes or so, the photo goes blank.  And, I have to start the process over again to get that same photo.  It interrupts the painting process.  I think it goes blank due to a sleep function.  I have gone into the Apple TV settings and turned off the sleep function.  But, this does not seem to work.  What can I do to keep the image on the TV screen permanently?

    how can I create a disk image of snow leopard installer disk from my Imac which runs it? It came without DVD installer, and I want to make a copy of it's OS installer but can't find out how.

    You need to have the disc in order to create disk image of snow leopard installer disc. What did your machine ship with? If something later than SL, then why? If earlier, then you can buy the SL installer disc and make the disk image.
