How can iIntegrate SQL server reporting with JSP/JBoss environment

I am using Jboss 4.2.0 i want to integrate SQL server repoting service through JSP code. Any Articles/ tutorial available ?

I'm using the dtexec.exe tool  from SqlServer to run the dtsconfigfile like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn\dtexec.exe"  /F "ETLConfig.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "ConnectionStrings.dtsConfig" /REP V /CONSOLELOG > log.txt
in that way you can track how it went
Oh, and yes, the connection eventually occur. And that's weird because it happens randomly. I don't think
its "expected", and if it is, of course it's not decent.

  • How to fix a report textbox aggregate expression error in SQL server reporting with multiple datasets?

I have a SQL Server Reporting Services report that has a textbox within a Report with variations of the following expression
    =Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
    and
    Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) / Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0))
I see the following error when I try to preview the report:
The Value expression for the text box ‘Textbox2’ uses an aggregate expression without a scope. A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one dataset.
What am I missing in this this expression to make it run incorrectly

Can you include dataset name in your sum functions? e.g. Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
    and
    Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) should include your dataset name as Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0) and Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")Like wise  Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0))  should also have dataset name Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")

  • How can I have Main report with a sub-report with in a sub-report??

I have a main report that has about 5 subreports, almost like a dashboard.  I need to make one of those subreports contain another subreport.
I don't have the option to add a sub-report with in my sub-report, so what I thought would work is remove my sub-report from my main report, then add my new sub-report, then add that report back to my main report.
Everytime I add the sub-report that has a sub-report to my main report I lose the second sub.
From what I've read on the internet is you can't have a sub-report contain another sub-report.  What some say is you can hyperlink that second sub report.
When I setup my hyper link to open the second sub-report I'm prompted to re-enter my report parameters.
Can some help me link a sub-report to a sub-report or show me how to pass a date range parameter in my hyper link so the reports just opens up?
    I'm using CR IX R2
    Thanks

    Nate,
You are dealing with a product limitation.  Crystal cannot have nested subreports within a sub report.
You can generally use shared variables between sub reports to achieve your desired result

  • How can I get a report with total number of pages printed on my HP Officejet Pro 8610?

Since knowing the number of pages I print is so critical to a choice of using the "HP Instant Ink Plan" or not, how can I find the total number of pages I have printed on my brand-new (installed 2 days ago) 8610?  And if I can, is it a "resettable" or rolling total?  Don't see anything in user guide and a search yields nothing usable on this blog.
Printer is installed wirelessly on an older PC with Windows XP SP3.  I can also of course intstall it with network cable but so far it works OK on my home network without network cable.  If it matters which OS, I also have a Lenovo laptop running Vista on which I can install this printer.
Please do not respond that I can find the total by counting the number of pieces of paper I have.  Surely the internals of this fine machine must have the requested data so that HP can tell my usage if I select the monthly ink plan!
This 8610 was a good buy (net $89.00 after trade-in of my six year old J36xx Deskjet) at Office Depot/Max which of course influenced my decision to buy it.  So far I am very happy with printing qualities and speed, have not tried the scanner yet and will probably never use the fax since I have no land line phone.
    Thanks,
    Harry

    Hi,
Section #2 of the Printer Ststus report will tell you. Please try:
    Printer status report
Use the printer status report to view current printer information and ink cartridge status. Also use the printer status report to help you troubleshoot problems with the printer.
The printer status report also contains a log of recent events.
If you need to call HP, it is often useful to print the printer status report before calling.
To print the Printer Status Report
    1. From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.
    2. Touch Print Reports and then touch Printer Status Report.

  • How Can I change a report with base in another in the same dashboard?

    Hi,
I need to publish two reports in a dashboard, the first report is a list of values and the second report is a chart. When I click in a value of the first report, the second report must change with the value selected from the first report.
I first created the first report, and I changed the column properties in the data format, I selected treat text as: "Custom Text Format", the Custom Text Format is:
    @[html]"<f ont class=Nav oncl ick=\"Ja vaScr ipt:GoNav(event, '/path/reporte2','TABLE','FIELD','"@"');\">"@"< /fo nt>";;@
    The second Report has the next filter: FIELD is equal to / is in @{NQ_SESSION.@}
With this the first and second reports works well, however, when I include the two reports in dashboard, the second report is updated in another window not in the same section.
How Can I change the second report in the same page or section where this the first report?
    Thanks
    Edwin Guerrero

I am not sure whether this would work but worth a try. Create a third report which would call the 2nd report using iframe and GO URL. Name the iframe of the narrative view. And use the java script to update the iframe using objWin = window.open(<ur go url>, “biee”,”height=480,width=240,scrollbars=yes,resizeable=yes”);. I had used a similar method to integrate biee with mapviewer. You can check it out here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/09/26/oracle-bi-ee-10133-and-mapviewer-step-by-step-integration-phase2-and-phase3/

  • How to change sql server reports parameter direction in report builder 3.0

    Hi All,
I have created few reports using Report Builder 3.0 with the data source as SharePoint list. i have created a web part page and added the ".rdl"
file, everything is working as expected. Later, i got a requirement to add a parameter to the report , i did that and when i ran the report in SharePoint page, the parameters shows right side and the parameter ribbon shows the dropdown control on top and "Apply
button" at the bottom. When i presented this to my manager, he says the parameter ribbon looks bad and suggested to put both the controls together and also instead of displaying at right side vertical, display it horizontal.
    I have below queries
How can i change the direction of parameter ribbon from vertical to horizontal
How can i bring the controls together (e.g. dropdown list control and button)
How can i add buttons on the report in report builder 3.0
How to get/reflect the data in report without refreshing the page.
Can someone please guide me, how to achieve the above functionalities..
    MercuryMan

Unfortunately, where the parameters are located and the button distance away from the parameters are not something you can customize. Here are the options available for customization:

  • How can I overwrite existing reports with Publish Wizard?

    Hi,
I uploaded a lot of reports to the Crystal Reports Server 2008 CMS using the Publish Wizard. Now, when I upload changed reports again, the Publish Wizard does not overwrite the existing reports. Instead it renames the new report as "<Name> (2)".
Is there an option ot overwrite the existing report based on the report name, ideally keeping the CID?
    Thanks for information
    Joern

    Hi Jorn,
There is no option to overwrite the destination content, if you want to do that a better tool would be the Import Wizard.
Using the Import Wizard you could specify how you want the imported report being to be treated in instances where it exists also on the Destination system.
    From the Import Wizard Guide:
"...you have two options to identify the object and determine if the object already exists on the destination environment:
    1. Use the source object's unique identifier (CUID).
    2. Use the source object's name and path.
You must decide how you would like the Import Wizard to handle scenarios where the objects already exist on the destination environment."
Please refer to the Import Wizard Guide for the various options available with this tool.

I hope this answer was very helpful to you.

  • How can I create a report with a specified format in Answers

    Hello Everyone!
I want to create a request in Answers gives me a report format like this:
    http://i25.tinypic.com/t6p0ee.jpg
    How can I achieve this?
    Please help!
    -D

Thanks for quick replies. I think I was not able to give a lot of details.
So, I am selecting a country, region, branch (branches can be multiple)
The report is grouped by Branch (I get details of each individual projects within each of the branch, the total sales of individual projects and then total sales of the branch)
The report then further gives me sum of sales of the branches that selected in my query.
In the end I want the report to look similar to the pic I posted.
    Thanks!

  • How can i make a report with parameter?

    hi.
i'd like make a report with parameter , for example when i run a report at first i fill dates ( from dd/mm/yy to dd/mm/yy) and after that run my query.
i made a query ( select name, date from x where date between :a and :b) but when i run the report it return no row select.
    thanks

    Hi,
This is because the query is expecting a value for :a and :b. You should run the customization form first. Enter the values
for the :a and :b and save it. Next time when you run the report it will always pick up those values. You can also mention the
values at design time in the customization form display options by specifying the default values.
    Thanks,

  • How can I create a Report with LabView Real-Time?

With conventional LabView, I can create Reports in HTML, for example to document Errors.
I need this feature in LabView Realtime. Is it possible?

It is possible, but you got to put a name to the file with an extension of three letters. i.e. errors.htm
Three letters on the extension is what the RT Operating system allows to use.
Then you will need to do an ftp to your RT machine and get the file and maybe change the extensions.
Not all the vis for Report generation can be used in the RT engine. The ones that use ACTIVE X will not work. i.e printting
Another way to generate reports and the most recommended is to use the host machine to generate the reports.

  • How can I create a Report with the Report Generation Toolkit?

    Hi,
I have installed Labview Report Gerneration Tool for Microsoft Office Version 1.1 and now I want to use MS Office Report Express VI but it need the VI "Dflt Data Dir.vi". I don't have this on my computer, why? Where can I get this VI? Can somebody help me?
    thanks Labprog

    Hello Labprog
This VI should be located in the file.llb in the folder
..\vi.lib\utility. Thus, it is not part of the report generation
toolkit but of LabVIEW. I am not sure why you are missing that file on
your PC, maybe you just did not find it because it is hidden in a LLB.
Maybe this LLB is not part of your LabVIEW package (Base, FDS, PDS).
Anyway, I'll attatch that little VI, hoping that this is the only one missing.

  • How to connect to SQL server 2000 with Oracle Form

    Hi,
I'm looking for the document of how to connect "SQL Server 2000" with Oracle Form 6i. Anyone knows that?

    Shay or other knowledgeable folks,
Is there a way to utilize the wizard for "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Business Components from Tables" for SQL Server 2000, 2005 or 2008. I can successfully execute sql via java programmatically or import a table from SQL Server with "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Entity Object" wizard, but the Business Components from Tables simply doesn't see any tables under any schema. Without the "Business Components from Tables", i don't get the referential constraints imported into the application and to code all those from scratch is just not as elegant. So far i have only utilized the sql server jdbc driver from Microsoft (versions, 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0). Is there an alternative client that i need to use to enable selecting tables from that "Business Components from Tables" wizard. Is this a limitation of SQL Server, the jdbc driver or the wizard itself? Did anybody else experience the same issues? I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 against SQL Server 2005 (currently)
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Coldfusion and sql server reports

    hi all,
we wish to have a reporting tool that goes well with coldfusion. we wish to use sql server reporting with coldfusion. can anyone provide some examples for this. i have seen integration only for crystal reports and report builder. does it support sql server reporting too. please help......

If I had ever used SQL Server reporting I would have said something...
But you are embarking on an unusual task and unusual tasks are not usually done be lots of people.
So how does SQL server reporting work?  What does it produce?  How do you want to tie into it?  What do you want to happen?
With all the ways one can tie into other services through ColdFusion and its underlining Java, I suspect there might well be some way to do something.  Wether that something is good enough and|or simple enough to be worth the effort I can not say and will require a good amount of knowlege on how SQL server reporting actually works.
