How copy just line in text file with cat? (SOLVED)

Hi.
How i make to copy just only line in text file with cat?
For example:
[:0.0]
file=/home/Arch/./.wallpaper.png
mode=0
bgcolor=# 0 0 0
I want copy just "/home/Arch/./.wallpaper.png" part.
Actually i want create a shortcut for last wallpaper set from Nitroget, then i put this in SLim background.
Recently i use hsetroot for wallpaper (~/.wallpaper.png) and i create a shortcut in /usr/share/slim/theme/MYTHEME whith ln -s ~/.wallpaper.png /usr/share/slim/theme/MYTHEME/background.png.
I want make a same with Nitrogen.
I now this looks like crazy, but...

Yes. In theme directory i put background.png shortcut for my wallpaper. So, when a change wallpaper, slim background change too.

No, jpg is possible. But when you create a symbolic link, remember put the extension too. If change png to jpg, change a symbolic link extension.

sincere thanks for your answer. And, to answer your last question, I'm using client-server model.
Since I couldn't create this .RTF file by using built-ins like TEXT_IO, I tried to generate an .RTF file using Reports, passing the parameters DESTYPE, DESNAME and DESFORMAT, as shown below.

add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESNAME', text_parameter, 'c:\franklin.rtf');

However, the just generated .RTF file is uncomprehensible. After opening the file at Microsoft Word, I can see the following message at the top of file:
This file was created by Oracle Reports. Please view this document in Page Layout mode.
... and informations doesn't appear as desired.
If I can't generate such text format by using TEXT_IO, and if generating an .RTF file through Reports shows me an incomprehensible result, how can I export the selected result to an .RTF file?
When Reports is opened, choosing Generate to file -> RTF doesn't export anything.

How to create PDF from text file with specific layout?

I wanted to create the pdf from text file in specific layout - Landscape orientation and JIS B3 Page size while at Adobe Acrobat Pro.
In past, I could do a right click on a text file (desktop area) and select print to print out the document into .pdf BUT only if I set the Adobe PDF to Landscape and JIS B3 Page size BEFORE. And I could only do 15 text documents at once.
I wanted to see if I could do the create the pdf from text file with specific layout in Adobe Acrobat without having to go to Control Panel to preset the Adobe PDF to specific layout at every time. I would have to set Adobe PDF back to normal layout after I'm done with these pdf print outs. I do lots of pdfs in normal layout. Sometimes I would forget to do that.
So, How do I do that?

No such luck. It would output the contents in letter size even in JIS B3 Page layout at MS word.
Is there a script or action where I could set the orientation and page size before creating PDF on these text files?

Oh I see. I missed the part about it being separate rows when I read your post the first time.
How about this... first do the Table.SplitColumn operation and then use the Unpivot operation. Doing this through the UI is pretty simple, but you can go straight through the formula language if you want to. The formula is Table.UnpivotOtherColumns.
Here's a simplified example:

How to adjust splitted lines into one line in Text file?

I have a text file with 3 fields(comma separated): GLCode (Number), Desc1 (Char), Desc2(Char) and need to load it into BW.
My Text file looks like:

line/record 2 is splitted into 3 lines and need to adjust in 1 line.
2. In Line 5 (Record 3) data splitted into 2 lines and need to make 1 line.
3. Need to remove bad characters.

and pick out only any line which start with number 1 (i.e 1 abcd)
then output these 2 lines out to a a new text file?

Hi,
How do you creat your text files? Depending on the programm, there is added characters in the beginning and at the and of the file. So here you will find a VI to creat "raw" text files.
To debug your VIs, use the probs and breakpoints, so you can solve the problem by your self or give an more accurate description of it.
There is also the VI that read a integer and two strings (%d %s %s)

Launch iTunes with the Option key held down, click on Choose Library, and specify it. If the external drive doesn't contain the iTunes database files, create a new library there and import that music.
If the library contains any rented movies, they won't play on a different computer.

I have followed and it works.
However, I got another problem with HKSCS. When the text file contained HKSCS, the store procedure also treats it as Big5 and when I select it out, the character was not the orginal one.
Please suggest if you have any ideas.

Importing text file (with file names) into Automator.. is it possible?

I have been working with Windows Batch files for my line of work. I have a couple of file names in a text file (a column), which I want to copy from one folder of one hdd to another folder on a different hdd. I have been trying to do this kind of work with a Mac. I already know how you copy and rename files in automator (which isn't difficult, of course) but you have to 'select' the files in the finder first (with get specified items).
But the only way i see that you can specify items is by selecting them... is there a way to import a text file with all the file names instead of selecting all the file names manually?
or is there an AppleScript alternative which I can use to import the text file (or just copy into applescript) and run before the query's of copying and renaming the files? I am kind of new to Apple programming.
The text file looks like this:
image1.jpg
image2.jpg
etc..
so there has to be a command to: 'goto' a specific folder as well.

You can import text files, but if they are just names you will need an additional action to add the source folder path. A *Run AppleScript* action can be used, for example:

How do I create multiple text files from a list in another file?

I have a text file with data in it:
1. Bristol
2. Bath
3. Exeter
etc
I want to run an action which outputs the following files:
1.txt (contents: 1 Bristol)
2.txt (contents: 2.Bath)
3.txt (contents: 3.Exeter)
I can't work ou how to do this, any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi mate, thanks for the suggestion. I saw that section in the user guide - but it is only for copying from one library to another - I want to copy from an FCP library to a file structure OUTSIDE FCP. I have had problems with FCP losing media when copying to another library so I just want the files in the Finder where I can see them...

All newScale text is customizable. Follow the procedure below to change the value of any text string that appears in RequestCenter online pages.
Procedure
1. Find out the String ID of the text string you would like to overwrite by turning on the String ID display:
a) Navigate to the RequestCenter.ear/config directory.
b) Open the newscale.properties file and add the following name-value pair at the end of the file:res.format=2
c) Save the file.
d) Repeat steps b and c for the RmiConfig.prop and RequestCenter.prop files.
e) Stop and restart the RequestCenter service.
f) Log in to RequestCenter and browse to the page that has the text you want to overwrite. In front of the text you will now see the String ID.
g) Note down the String ID's you want to change.
2. Navigate to the directory: /RequestCenter.ear/RequestCenter.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/newscale/bfw.
3. Create the following sub-directory: res/resources
4. Create the following empty text files in the directory you just created:
RequestCenter_0.properties
RequestCenter_1.properties
RequestCenter_2.properties
RequestCenter_3.properties
RequestCenter_4.properties

I've recently come across this information and it was very helpful in changing some of the inline text.
