Implementing APO DP Module

We are implementing Demand Planning where the Planning team will be entering the consesus forecast through <b>SDP94</b> Transaction.
Currently its around <b>300</b> with a likelihood upto <b>500-600</b> within <b>1 year</b>.
We are planning for about <b>1200 WDs</b>.
We are doing the planning for around <b>1200 custome</b>rs and <b>800 SKUs</b>.
We are currently having <b>1 Planning area</b> and 1<b> MPOS</b>.
We have arround <b>250000 CVC's.</b>
We are facing high response time issues where the planners are doing a drilldown through the lowest level of <b>WD-SKU</b> combination.
Kindly let us know having multiple planning areas with multiple MPOS will improve on the response time.

Hi,
You can have one MPOS, one PLanning Area but different
Planning Books.
Also try to restrict the data in the SELECTION IDS.
Create as many selection IDS as possible restricting the data to that particular user.As I believe one user will not have the necessity to access all of the data.
Here are a few other suggestions which will increase the performance
(1) Planning Area:
Ø     Key Figures:
If it is used for reporting purposes, move to BW
If it is used to calculate dynamically, consider planning book key figure
Limit the number of keyfigures in Live Cache as they have an effect on the performance.
(2) Planning Books design: Most Important- This is one of the reasons, the system interactive performance becomes slow
Reading Data from Live Cache:
Say a Planning Book has 10 Key Figures and the data view has 5 Key Figures.
Whenever we try to access the data view, it will try to read all the key figures from the Live Cache. This affects the performance heavily.
Ø     It is always better to create as many planning books as possible without any issues.
Ø     Hide Key Figures that are used for calculation
Ø     Remove Unnecessary Horizons as there is a way of initializing the planning area for a single key figure
(3) Macro design: Audit the macro definitions
Ø     Only calculate the horizon which is necessary
Ø     Row Attributes should have only one iteration
Ø     Default Macros: Consolidation of steps
(4) Batch Processing: Another important factor for poor system performance
Ø     Create separate planning books for the batch jobs
Ø     Combine macros which use similar key figures into a single job
(5) Sizing of the LC server: Factors which affect the sizing are key figures, characteristic combinations, horizon. Generally it is recommended that the memory consumption should not be greater than 80% of the available server memory space.
Hope this helps

  • To implement SAP HCM module in existing SAP ECC 6.0

    Hi,
I have SAP ECC 6.0 system already implemented 2 years back.
I am planning to implement SAP HCM with OM, PA, SAP Time management, SAP PAYROLL in existing SAP ECC 6.0 system.
I have currently 3 system landscape for SAP ECC.
I would like to know what change/addition is required in above landscape to implement SAP HCM module in existing SAP ECC 6.0
    Do share your view.
    Regards.

    Hi.
As per you, Already designed Landscape. Why dont you follow you existing Landscape which is alredy proved for other modules.
    Normally Dev/Quality/Production clients will there..
If more that depends upon flexibility in Each client and defining different business for testing and production interfaces purpose.
Better use Existing only remaining modules already sucessfully running in Production Right????

  • What are the disadvantages of implementing APO- Demand Planning without improvements or cleaning up the MRP. in other words is DP implementation dependant on MRP process. Gurus please advise

HI All. What are the disadvantages of implementing APO- Demand Planning without improvements or cleaning up the MRP. in other words is DP implementation dependant on MRP process. Gurus please advise

    Hi Amol,
DP is the demand planning machine, here you estimate your forecast (future sales).
The MRP is a supply planning machine, here you use estimate the replenishment.
Both machines in a technical perspective are independent one each other. Now in a business perspective they are not: The problem that you will have if you don´t clean your MRP elements is not a problem in DP itself. I mean, you can have a very success implementation in DP, your forecast accuracy will be very good.. and you will get a very good forecast, but when the MRP run and estimate the replenishment, the effort that you made in DP will not be translated in good results and your planning situation will be still not good.
    Kind Regards,
    Mariano

  • ML Activation after two years of implementation of other modules..

    Hi,
After two years of implementation of all modules, we are planning to activate the ML. Can you suggest what sort of problems we can face during ML Activation..
    Regards

Connection timed out to what?  Everything?  If so, then before wiping your disk, reinstalling, further deleting your keychain entries or other related activities, please check with your ISP and see if there's a network outage, or if you've exceeded some download quota.

  • Initial Steps in Implementing SAP FICO Module

    Hi Peers
I'm a team member in a fresh Implementation for a manufacturing company for FICO. I want to know what are the action steps to be taken before going to implement. Plz help me in how to go about the implementation of FICO module.

    Hi,
First you need to know the organizational structure of that company because this will be your guide in determining the org units to configure in the system. Second, you should do mapping of business transactions/scenarios. What they want to do and what SAP can do so that you can determine any gaps and find solution to meet the gap. =).

  • Can I implement SAP MM without implementing SAP FICO module?

    Hello all,
Can I implement SAP MM without implementing SAP FICO module?

    Hi Abhijeet,
The answer is Yes and No. Yes, if you have a corporate wide Financial System for taking balance sheet and other reporting needs and you need SAP MM for your purchasing and inventory management functions. Even in this case, you will need a FICO Consultant to setup the minimum FI settings. And to build interface to push the relevant data between SAP and the core financial system. No, if you dont have any other system to track the business financials.
Most implementations will have FI and MM implemented and in few cases, where the corporate wide Financial system is different from SAP, we will have a lean FI implemented in SAP to allow necessary postings.
    Best Regards

  • EANCOM Message for APO planning module

    Hi  ,
Currently we are working on Integration of APO - Planning module with our Business Partner . We have SAP PI in the landscape
APO Planning Messages have to be delivered to the external Partner through  SAP PI as EANCOM message .
If any one has tried this scenario already please let me know which EANCOM message is used in this scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kavitha

In simple terms APO is mainly used for forecasting. The forecasting is done based on the past sales by the org. This sales from R3 or any other source s/m is fed into APO. In calculating the forecast, org factors such as intrumental or org's factors which contribute to expenditure are added to the APO. With both of these information...APO generates forecast for future which can be for weeks or months or years. This forecast data is fed into BW for comparison with actuals when teh appropriate time comes...meaning when the future date comes...the forecast for that date is compared with  that date's sales. The area where we have both sales and factors i beleive is called the Planning area...
Hope i explained to u what i understood about APO.
    Assign point if useful

Are you able to see the Delete Button, If so then it Definitely comes to AT USER-COMMAND.
    WHEN 'VCART'.
    LEAVE TO LIST-PROCESSING.
SET PF-STATUS 'LIST'.   "This is for List status here you set the Delete button backbutton
    loop at i_cart.
    WRITE:/01(01) '|', I_CART-CHECK AS CHECKBOX,05(01) '|',
    06(40) I_CART-CMAKTX,46(01) '|',

    Abhishek,
Forum rules clearly state that basic searches should be performed before posting a question, and then post only questions about specific issues.  These forums are unfortunately ill-suited for teaching a novice how to implement a complex SAP module.

  • What are the dependencies to implement SAP PM module form Financials?

    Hi Experts,
Requirement is that the client does not have SAP and now asking for only SAP PM module to be implemented. Can you please suggest me what are all the dependencies we need to consider from FICO and MM  point of view?
    Thank you very much
    Ganesh.

If a company has implemented SAP without the HR module & now they want to implement SAP HR, will they have to buy a license for that? - Yes they will have to get licences for this.
If yes, what will they have to pay? - They will have to contact SAP for this and negotiate with them.
The number of employees working are 500. - The company will have to decide how many ESS licences they want to get and how many MSS licences they want to get. Again for all these ESS/MSS licences they wil have to pay separately apart from the HR licences.

  • Custom DBTransaction Implementation in different modules

    Hi,
I am trying to implement custom DBTransactionImpl class by followig the below link -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/dbtransimpl/index.html
I achieved the required functionality while working with single Application module.
But now my issue is -
I have two modules, two jsp's in both i have commit functionalities. I want to have different implementation for these commits.
so i created two dbtransactionimpl classes and two transaction factory classes, also mapped configurations to respective impl classes in bc4j.xcfg file.
    following is my configuration ::
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <BC4JConfig version="11.1" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bc4j/configuration">

  • List of hardware we need for implementing APO DP,PPDS &TPVS

    Hi Gurus,
Can anyone please let me know the list of space and harddisk we need to get for implementing DP, PPDS & TPVS to one organization ,
We have around 50 users over with all the modules listed above
    DP--- cvc max 50,000
    PPDS---2000 products 3 locations
It will be really great help.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Raj

    Raj,
Not enough info.  However, you are in luck.  SAP offers a do-it-yourself web app called QUICKSIZER in which you can answer the questions yourself.
Quicksizer output will give you storage reqments, and it will also create a standardized measure of processing power requirements.  This standard measure is understood by all the major hardware vendors, and they can quickly give you the actual hardware you need to buy, based on your desired manufacturer, CPU, and operating system.
    http://service.sap.com/quicksizer
I suggest you download the 'Using the Quicksizer' docs first and give them a read.
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000071577&
Then go into the app and create a project.  You can save the project and re-open it if it takes you several sessions to complete the data entry.

  • Benefit of implemention of  treasury module

    Dear All,
We have already implemented FI (AR,AP,AA,GL) , SD,MM ,PPand CO.We want to implement treasury module also.
What benefit ,we will get ,if we implement treasury module.
    Regards,
    Nrusingha

    Hi,
Treasury has many other sub modules in it. Out of them Cash & Liquidity Management is the widely used.
Cash Management is used to monitor payment flows i.e., cash inflow and outflow and safeguard liquidity, so that you can meet your payment commitments. It helps to determine cash position of your cash accounts, cash concentration, liquidity forecast - future inflows and outflows for better planning and many more.
One other sub module in Treasury is CFM (Corporate Finance Management). Upto ECC5.0 this is a seperate module in FI Accounting. From version ECC 6.0 CFM is a part of Treasury (FSCM).
SAP Corporate Finance Management is a series of solutions that are geared towards analyzing and optimizing business processes in the finance area of a company. It deals with managing loans, fixed-deposits, securities, foreign exchange, derivatives etc. This is a very good tool to manage, plan and analyze the financial position of a company.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.
    Regards
    Harika

  • Implementing APO/VMI

Can anyone provide insight regarding implementation of APO and VMI for large customers, e.g., ease of implementation, time to implement, challenges in implementing VMI, things to watch out for during implementation and execution?

    Hello,
Let me give you some insight on VMI.
    - Please examine this SAP Library link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/f1/f69a3dcbcfac53e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    - In case of VMI Scenario, you are supposed to use APO specific VMI Purchase order number. SPRO   > Advanced Planning Optimization   > Supply Chain Planning   > Supply Network Planning   > Vendor Managed Inventory   > Maintain Purchase Order Number Assignment in SAP APO. ( please also go through IMG Help against this node )
    Hope this helps you.
