How do I access my iCloud from my android

I recently switched phones with my son he now uses the iPhone and I have an android. I need to know how to access my icloud from my android.

(translated from dutch) : 'your browser is not supported at the time' : which part don't I understand ? - this is in all browsers installed on my android phone yes !
I've been a long time apple-users : In my household I have 3 macbook pro's - an old Cube G4 with cinema display,  Airport extreme + airport express'es + apple tv + ipod nano, ipod touch V and ipod classic and a number of magic-mouses, bluetooth keyboards, ... So I've spent more than 12000 euro's on apple stuff.
For me an Iphone is just way too expensive FOR MY USE (occasional telephone call(I have a prepaid sim and I spend 15€ -25€ every 3-4 months on calls), I never check my email when away from home (wouldn't know what for), hardly ever on internet when on the go, ...). They have no offering to my taste.
So yes, I got myself a 'cheap' 330€ unlocked LG G2 from the sales. That to me is the maximum I think I will ever pay for a phone. Is it as good, better or worse than IOS ? It's in some domains better, in some very much as good and in others domains it's worse than IOS. Let's say it's different but not that different to be ignored or frowned upon.
Csound1 :
So to the apple-fan-boys I'm suddenly a contagious animal ?? Am I suddenly going to switch ?
If Apple continues like they are, not giving me acces to the 'icloud.com' for the one time I don't have acces to a computer and needed a document really badly that I've put in the cloud, well maybe yes, I probably won't thou.
Will I visit this 'forum' more often to get a higher level ?? With posters like you I'm already put-off, no thank you.(btw did you get all these points and go to such a level with thàt kind of postings ? Congratulations.
The worst thing about extremism is the blindness of it.
So to answer your question : I'm gone NOW !

    Hi Chosen4,
If you are looking for more information on setting up your iCloud account in 3rd party mail applications, you may find the following article helpful:

iCloud uses the IMAP mail protocol (as opposed to POP), where messages are maintained on the server and should stay uniform across multiple devices:

  • Can I access my icloud from an android phone?

I have a few questions as I am about to receive my first ipod Touch.  Please forgive my ignorance.  I've had a few 5G nanos but that's pretty much just itunes stuff; I'm not really apple-experienced and even on my (non-Apple) touch phone, I'm not very app-oriented.
    1) Although my 32GB Touch is twice the size of my 16GB Nano, it's not enough to hold all my music so I hope to stream from icloud to my car- which is where I generally use the ipod.  Since the Touch doesn't have 3G (right?), my plan is to stream from my icloud to my phone which will be plugged into my car stereo.  It's not clear to me if there's an app to access icloud from an android device.  Possible?
    2) I currently have an amazon cloud because I briefly owned the Kindle Fire.  I was sorely disappointed when I uploaded my entire itunes library, only to find that 60% of it was not allowed due to DRM restrictions.  Many of those songs were off of personal CDs, while others were off various websites.  I have very few "illegal" songs, so it was a surprise to me that so many were rejected by amazon.  If I understand itunes Match correctly, $25 will allow me to bypass any DRM restrictions- so long as the song is available on itunes (so most albums should be okay).  And what about the more unusual songs- live performances, underground covers, etc.?  If there's no match in itunes, will they be subject to DRM restrictions?  Do under-the-radar mp3s circulating on the internet have DRM restrictions anyway?
2a) I note that the description of Match covers "music you've imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than itunes."  Is this "purchased" an important distinction?  I have many songs that I've legally but freely downloaded off of various music websites.
    3) If I'm paying for the Match service, am I still limited to 5GB cloud storage?  Do matched songs count against the 5GB?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your succinct answers.  I do still have a few questions:
    1) I understand that Match will let me store music that I purchased elsewhere, but what about an mp3 I downloaded from a random website for free, or a bootleg recording of a show?  Does that stuff get uploaded or denied?
    2) Let me clarify that I intend to do any significant interaction with my icloud on my ipod, but to simply stream random music or to play specific podcasts in the car, I'll probably stream through my android phone.  So... what I think you're saying is that there are apps that will allow me to stream from my icloud to my android phone, even if you didn't care for the one(s) you tried?
    3) Does the $25 Match subscription come with unlimited storage?  If not, does everything count against your storage limit except for what you buy directly through itunes?
    4) When you say the app to sync data to an android costs money, do you mean like $.99 or $5.99 instead of free, or do you mean that I'll need to pay monthly for a special kind of data processing though my phone company?  I use Sprint- I'm pretty sure my data use is unlimited (if not entirely reliable).
    Thanks again.

  • HT204053 How do I access my iCloud from ipad

I backed up both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S on the iCloud. How do I view photos and videos taken on my phone on my iPad?  Is there an iCloud app? I see where I can view my new photos on to photo stream but what about my videos and old pictures? Help!

You're welcome, but to clarify, iCloud is designed to make your photos and other synced data available and consistent across devices.  For example, if you turn on photo stream and then take a picture on one device, when you close the camera, connect to wifi and have at least 30% battery charge left, the photo will upload to your photo stream.  Once uploaded, it will be streamed to any other device that is connected to the same iCloud account with photo stream also enabled (appearing in the photo stream album).  But it does have limitations, such as only keeping a maximum of 1000 photos for up to 30 days, and it doesn't include videos.  In other words, photo stream is designed as temporary storage until you save the photo on your device or computer.
Another example is contacts and calendars.  If you add a contact or calendar event to your iCloud contacts or calendar on one device, it will be uploaded to iCloud and synced to all other devices connected to the same iCloud account.  Conversly, if you delete a contact or calendar event, it will be deleted from all devices connected to the account.
It also provides a way to back up your devices automatically every 24 hours, and the backup includes your photos and videos.
Hopefully that clarifies things a bit.

  • I signed for a ICloud account, now how do I access to ICloud from Ipad 2

I just signed for a ICloud account using my Ipad 2 and IBook. I can't find the way to access ICloud using my Ipad 2. Can sombody help? Thanks.

iCloud isn't a storage space for different kinds of files. You can't store Word documents, MP3's or JPEGs in it (at least, not yet).
iCloud stores the back ups it makes of your iOS devices.
iCloud stores the contacts, calendars, reminders and email it makes accessible to your iOS devices.
iCloud allows you to download your iTunes Purchases to your iOS devices automatically.
iCloud syncs Apple iWork documents to your iOS devices.
iCloud stores the last 1000 photos you've taken on your iOS devices and makes them instantly available to all your other iOS devices and computers, without you having to manually sync anything.
    Read about it here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/what-is.html

  • How can I login to icloud from an android phone?

My Gf has my iphone. How can I see recent messages and calls from another device? Or at least see recent messages, calls, pics, etc....

iCloud is not available for android, it's an iOS feature.
You can use iCloud on a windows computer, though, you'll need to download the iCloud control panel for that.

  • How caN I reach my iCloud from someone else's device?

How can I access my iCloud from a friends iPad ??

You cannot get to your iCloud account from an iOS device other than your own where you have iCloud signed on. You can access Find My iPhone on another device by clicking on the Find My iPhone App, and signing on with your iCloud ID.
You can access your iCloud account from a computer by going to iCloud.com
What is it that you are needing to do?
    Cheers,

  • How can I access my iCloud account on the web from my phone

how can I access my iCloud account on the web from my phone
    iPhone 5 iOS 8.3
I have iCloud turned on, location services on, find my phone works but when I try to access iCloud via Safari on the phone it takes me to a page Apple.com,
    iCloud then three options
set up iCloud on my phone (i have)
Install Find my phone, it is installed and it works from my MBP
or install find my friends, I don't need that I have no friends.
my calendars and contacts and bookmarks and all are all sync'd and working on the phone, but i thought if I typed in iCloud.com on the phone in Safari I would go to my iCloud web page that looks like this on my Mac.
Is that NOT how iCloud should/would look on my phone via Safari?
This is maybe a dumb question after 3+ year of iPhone'ing
thank you for clarifying or helping me to understand

I've been playing with a Galaxy here at work and here's what I've found so far - please feel free to jump in and suggest alternative methods to configure or access the various icloud components.
So the original Q: Can you access your icloud account on Android?
Not entirely: the website can't be used from an android browser (not properly - even with Dolphin HD and posing as different browsers it won't load correctly.  So Find my iphone is out, so is the address book or looking at your e-mail or calendar just in a browser window
I was able to setup my e-mail using the IMAP settings published here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
Be sure to setup the account manually - and note if you have trouble using SSL try TLS (that worked for me)
Address book is a no go so you'll have to use iTunes to sync all your contacts over to Gmail - if you still have an iPad it means managing contacts in two places though .  Same goes for your calendar - transfer it to Gmail and forget about iCloud's calendar.  Nice instructions here: http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-20064060-285/how-to-switch-from-iphone-to-an droid/
iWork is an Apple proprietary bit so don't expect much there.
So in my case, if I'm really going to make the switch to a Galaxy from my iPhone it really means I'm going to have to switch to using google as the backend.  The timing to swap over to a galaxy/android phone is not the greatest - given that I'd have to give up my Apple addiction (syncing photos and itunes and losing access to my device tracking).  Plus I still have an iPad and a mac and like living in the Apple ecosystem.  I think I'll wait and see what the new iPhone looks like before I commit

  • How can I access my iCloud account from my computer, when I'm running OSX Leopard?

I have a Mac Book running Leopard and I don't have the iCloud icon in my settings.. How can I access my iCloud account/back up my computer to the cloud?

Your signature says you have 10.6.8 which is Snow Leopard, but that is still not compatible with iCloud. You cannot back up your computer to iCloud in any case - it doesn't provide for that, only for iOS backups.
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
If you have already set up an iCloud account on another Mac or device you can make limited use of it with Snow Leopard - details here.
To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
    and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
(If in fact you are running Leopard and it is an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.)
