How do I add jpg file extension?

I recently exported some photos from iPhoto. Some of the photo thumbnail's have normal thumbnails and some only show up as white squares. I searched for these files and they look the same way in the iPhoto Original folder. The files that don't have a thumbnail are labelled as Plain Text and the ones with thumbnails are JPEG image.
The good thing is that if I open the files, it opens as a picture, so they are okay. Is there any way I can change the file type so that I don't have this problem?

Kind of a noob question... when I switched from the Dark Side, I imported all of the photos that were on my PC into my Mac. For whatever reason, the .jpg file extension was not appended to those photo files, and so iPhoto does not display them in its "Info." I only see the filename itself, not the ".jpg" part (iPhoto does display the .jpg extension for all photos I downloaded into iPhoto).
So, my two questions are:
1) Where/how can I find the individual files that are in my iPhoto library, so that I can see which ones do not have the extension?
2) Is there an easy way to add the .jpg extension to each file that doesn't have it, an app, or shareware, or something? Renaming 2,000+ individual files does not appeal to me...

You can't add the jpg extension once the photo has been imported into iPhoto. It needs to be done before you import. If you add the extension to photos already in the library that's the same as changing the file name and will break the file path to the original file. You will get the dreaded "!" if you try to edit or use the photos in a book or slideshow.
You really don't need to add the extension for iPhoto to operate correctly. If you need the photos outside of iPhoto and need them to have the extension you can export them out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option. Set the Format = JPEG with the other settings as you see fix and you'll get the new files with the .jpg extension.

That does not make sense.
WMV is a proprietary video format by Microsoft. The extension is just an indication of it. You can't add extensions to computers. Extensions belong to files and indicate what format the file is in.
You can however download Apps that will let you play videos of this format on your Mac.
Any Video Player is one such option.

I am trying to figure out how I can add a "File Folder" to my TC so that I can save files directly to it? The only folder it displays is "Data" which is where my bac ups save...

Double click on the "Data" folder in the Finder under the SHARED heading, and then click the gear icon at the top of the window and select New Folder.
You can name this folder anything you wish and also create as many folders as you wish.
If you are also using the Time Capsule drive for Time Machine backups, it is not really recommended that you "mix" regular files with Time Machine backups because there will be a struggle for space on the drive at some point.
If you have plenty of free space on the Time Capsule drive, you may be OK with keeping a portion dedicated for regular files.

Can you actually see that the attachment has a .jpg extension? Some mail systems strip it off (I've seen AOL do that) which makes the attachment difficult to open.

How do I make the file extension (ie: .tif, .jpg, .eps) in OS 9.2 visible?

I'm trying to transfer files from an old G3 (OS 9.2) to a new G5 (OS 10.5.8). Most files do not show the extension in their name. For example, an Illustrator eps has the file name "layout_final". When I transfer it to the new machine, it recognizes it as an .EXE file and cannot open. If I type in the .eps file extension, where is now reads "layout_final.eps", it then opens in Illustrator. I don't want to have to resort to manually adding in the file extension to every file. Is there a way in OS 9.2 to automatically show/turn on the extension in the file name?

How are you transferring the files ?
It sounds like you're going through some sort of Windows / DOS formatted media.
If you can network the two Macs together instead, do so.
If you can burn a CD or two on the Mac G3, do so.
If you have to use a USB stick, format it to Mac HFS Extended (aka HFS+) on either and use that.
The key is that if you transfer the files using something formatted for Mac, the file metadata should not be lost, and the files will appear on the G5 as expected, assuming that you have suitable apps to open the files in OSX 10.5
