How do I convert music when there is a mixture of mp3 and wma and alot of music?

So I recently bought a Mac Book Pro, and had all my music from my old laptop put on a new external hard drive. The problem is some of the music is mp3 and some is wma and I have 9000 songs and don't want to go through each one to covert. What is the simplest was of coveting everything to mp3?

You will have to use a third-party program to convert WMA files, iTunes won't do it.
If you have WMA and MP3 files in the same folder, go into list view in the Finder and click on the top of the 'Kind' column to sort by kind and separate them. (If the 'Kind' column doesn't show, enable it in Finder menu 'View'>'Show View options'.
You can then move all the MP3s into a separate folder. These can be imported directly into iTunes.
This will leave the WMA files; you will need to look for a program which can batch convert them.

You can find the port number by your instance number as follows:
There is a general format for the port number like you have mentioned.
For 00 instance the port number is 50000.
The general format for the port number goes like this:
5<instance_no>00
If your instance number is 01 then the port number would be 50100.
It depends on the installation type which you perform.
You can also change the instance number during the installation but normally you dont do this.
If you have many components or units installed on your system you may have more than one instance in that case it may go like this 00, 01, 02....accordingly port number will be 50000, 50100, 50200...resp.

I would suggest restarting the iPad and see if the download resumes.

You can't browse the web on an Apple TV
You can view any content that is in your iTunes library on the PC via the Apple TV if it is in the correct format.

Reboot holding down the Option key between the tone and the apple logo w/pinwheel. When the boot manager gives you a selection of boot partitions, choose your Lion partition. Once booted, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > select your Lion partition.

The ppi has nothing to do with this. It will stay at whatever it is.
Go to image>resize>resize image, turn ON Resample image and enter 1080 for the height, making sure to leave constrain proportions turned on. Don't mess with the ppi setting.
If the image is set to another ppi setting, then after you're done with the above, go back into that window, turn OFF resample image, and set the ppi to 72. PPI only affects the inc/cm measurement.

Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text
Click “Export” button
Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.

I can longer find the airplay icon on my iPad when I double click the home icon. It worked fine and i used it for a couple of weeks to mirror with the Apple TV and then it mysteriously disappeared. Now when I double click and slide the icons at the bottom to far left, instead of finding airplay there is an extra music icon and a music control panel. If I open up the music app, there is an airplay icon top right next to volume control which works fine with mirroring the Apple TV, which suggests to me wi-if and networks are fine. I can only mirror music however. Any ideas anyone?

How to optimize Java3D stuff when there is huge amount of objects

I am trying to make the visualization of thousands of objects in the 3D space. Each of them is dynamically added to the space when the data for it comes. And I need to manipulate each node by using mouse translate.
In practice, I found that the computer will be very slow when there are more than 2000 nodes(quadarray shapes with small texture). Is there any way to accelerate the speed and reduce the memory consumption?

Is there any way to hotbackup a rootenv with databases when there are subfolders with databases?
When I run a hotbackup (with db_hotbackup) on my rootenv, it only backups databases from the root of my rootenv. But, in that root directory, I have some subdirectories with databases too.

If you have root directory as : */your/root/dir*
and within that you have folders like : */your/root/dir/sub1* and */your/root/dir/sub2* and would want to backup the db files in */your/backup/dir* then, you should invoke db_hotbackup as
db_hotbackup -cv -b /your/backup/dir -h /your/root/dir -d ../dir/sub1 -d ../dir/sub2

What happends when there is an "x" showing in the battery and is not charging when the charger is connected?

on the top right hand corner where the date and time and sound and wifi and battery symbols are, i have my battery symbole set up to show me how much battery life i have by how full the battery icon is, but how instead there is a little "x" icon int the battery symbol and i can only use my mac when the charger is connected, but it still says it isnt charging........***

I have the same problem.. X icon.. Battery indicator LEDs are not showing anything.. we might think battery is bad.. but while booting with AC adapter.. if I remove the plug.. it boots and work with battery fine.. but if I reconnect the AC adapter it goes to sleep mode or maybe just LCD shuts off.. I'm sure of it.. im suing mid 2009 version and I'm gettin a 3 1/2 hrs backup until yesterday.. I was replacing corsair RAM 8 GB one and for the battery connecter.. I use flat screw driver to lift it.. saw a tiny spark then.. thinking thats the cause of all this.. physically everything is fine.. except I need AC adapter to start the laptop.. I wonder if we'll get the exact reason of this anytime..
By the way tried everything.. SMC, NRAM.. those things etc.. nothing solves.. just learnt living with it..

If it has Apple FairPlay DRM on it, you can't simply "convert it" to MP3. You must first burn it to a CD, then import it again into iTunes. Make sure your import settings have MP3, and match the native bit-rate of the original track.
If it's a regular AAC audio file, then simply change your import settings to MP3, then right-click the file and choose "Create MP3 Version."
