How do I create a new account and delete old one.

I want to stop current account and start a new one.

Go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.
This will not move your photo stream, however.  If you have photos in photo stream that you haven't backed up anywhere else you will need to save these before deleting the account.  If your computer is syncing with your iCloud account, your can photo stream photos directly to your computer.  If not, open your photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap the share arrow button, then tap Save to Camera Roll.  Once in the camera roll you can import them to your computer.

There are instructions on this page for creating a new account : Set up an Apple ID in iTunes
Or if you don't want to give credit card details : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method
But you won't be able to transfer purchases from your old account to it, all content that you download from the store will remain tied to the account that downloaded it.

  • How to create new user account and delete old one?

    Greetings,
we have wanted to change our alias on the discussions group but understand from the frequently asked questions section that,
"Once you create an alias, you cannot make changes to it. If you want to change your alias, you will need to create a new User Account".
However it does not go on to tell us specifically how to now set up a "new User Account". Could someone specify how to do this? And if we do this, how would we then delete the current User Account? Thank you.
    Chris

    Thanks for the reply.
However I am still confused. I originally thought the "user account" referred to an account specific to the Discussions Forums, not the general "Apple ID" however your email seems to suggest they are one and the same....Please clarify.
If so, however I do not think I am able to change my Apple ID. As I am a mobile me user I am required to us my mobile me address for my apple ID.....and do not think I can have two ID's with the same mobile me address.....
Any additional thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
    Chris
Not with the same Primary address, but you can use your MM address as a secondary one. That is how I have my 2 Apple IDs setup. 1 uses my Dot Mac address and the other uses an ISP address as the Primary with the latter having my Dot Mac address as an alternate address.
Warning, even if you create a new account, you won't be able to use your current ALIAS with the new account.

  • Want to start new admin account and delete old one in 10.3.9: recommended?

I just bought a used iMac G4 running 10.3.9. It works fine, but -- being a used computer -- the main admin account has the previous owner's username and password. (And most importantly, the "Short Name" -- which can't be changed -- is the previous owner's personal name.)
I have the password for the existing admin account -- no problem there. But I would like to start a new admin account, with a "Short Name" and password of my choosing, rather than forever be tied down to using the previous owner's account.
I know how to start a new admin account, customized as I like -- again, that's not the problem. The question is: what would happen if, after I created a new admin account, I then deleted the original admin accounr created by the previous ower?
    Is this possible?
    Is this recommended?
Will it screw up "permissions" and "ownership" of existing files/applications, etc.?
I actually went through this process before, with a different used Mac, and I remember encountering some problems afterward, that I'd like to avoid this time around.
(Also, I should mention that the install disks did not come with the computer, so I can't re-install the OS without buying new disks.)
    So:
Should I start a new admin account, then delete the old admin account?
Should I start a new admin account, and just leave both accounts on the machine but ignore the old one?
Or should I just leave things as is and endure having a goofy "Short Name" on my account?

OK, I took the plunge and it seemed to work out OK.
I created a new account. Then I marked it as an "Administrator" account (a trivial detail that I actually couldn't figure how to do for a few confusing minutes). Then I selected the new account to be the account that the computer automatically logs in to when it starts up. Then I restarted, and was logged into the new admin account. Then -- crossing my fingers -- I deleted the old admin account (and kept the deleted account info just in case). I then restarted again and, as hoped, everything started up fine, I was automatically logged into my new account with my desired "Short Name" etc., and when I checked, the old account was gone.
So far, everything has worked fine since then. So, I declare this issue resolved.

  • I had the icloud account changed on the iPad (have added new ID and deleted old one). However when updating/downloading , it still asks for password to the previous account...?

I’m giving my ipad to my sister and I had the icloud account changed. I have added new ID and deleted the old one. However when updating and downloading apps, it still asks for password to the previous account. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks very much!

Maybe you should set it up as new device again:

Apps are tied to the Apple ID they were bought with and can not be shared with other devices that have a different Apple ID.

  • How do I create a new account and move 2 phones to it ?

I am getting divorced and my wife owns the account we share as a family. I want to move mine and my sons phone to a new account in my name and be removed from hers. How do I accomplish this?

You need to do an Assumption of Liability(AOL). She needs to authorize it and the rest is up to you.

  • Creating new admin account and deleting old one

I am handing my MacbBook Pro to my wife
I am thinking about deleting my account (which is an admin, of course). I made her an admin account and she has access to all my apps when she logs in...
I WANT her to have access to my applications as if they were hers even when my account is deleted (e.g. Adobe CS3, Skype, etc.).
    My Question:
When I delete my admin account (with which the applications were installed), will she automatically not have access to the apps in the "applications folder" anymore? In other words, when I delete the admin account with which the application where installed, do all applications and setting from that account get deleted as well from all other users?
    Thank you.
(transfering, sync'ing, etc. can be so easy but such a headache from a personal standpoint: managing changes)

So, this would create her a new admin account but:
    1. my old account folder will be there but without being associated with a user
    2. same for her old folder
    3. all I have to do is drag her old account's application folder + application support folder onto her new admin account and all applications would run like we never even even left her old account behind?
Will any Leopard boot CD work or does it have to be one made specifically with her computer (it didn't come with a boot CD)...
    thanks...

However, that will affect only NEW purchases.
ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

ok, what you're learning right now is 101 unix, which is good. Unix is a good thing
now: the way unix works, and macos (which uses unix underneath) the files and folders work like a hierarchy.
the start of that tree is /
so, if you were to do:
    cd /
    (cd means change directory)
it will bring you at the highest branch of the file system.
    cd /Users
will bring you to where all the users are.
to see whats in /Users you can use your friend ls command
    ls means list files/directories
    so:
    cd /Users
    ls -la
(the -la here means show all (even hidden) and long format (very verbose))  this flag is very optional.
    you will see
    fred
    user2
    for example.
if you want to see the desktop of user2 you would change directory to it then list the files.
    for example:
    cd /Users/user2/Desktop
Note that the files and directory are case sensitive, so, desktop is NOT the same as Desktop, or DESKTOP
    ls -la
you should then be able to see everything in users2 desktop
you could have done as well the same thing in smaller steps, for example:
    cd /
    cd Users
    cd user2
    cd Desktop
this is the equivalent of cd /Users/user2/Desktop
So, for your file, i don't know where it was, but know that if you log in as user2, it will directly put you in
    /Users/user2
which most likely the file you had created from the other user was in /Users/user1
if you copied all the files from /Users/original_user to /Users/secondUser
most likely yes, all your mail, bookmarks etc would be copied over.
    so in your case.
    sudo chown -R seconduser:staff /Users/secondUser
    should work
Remember that if you start a path with the character /  it means start from the root of the file system, at the highest top you can ever get.
    so
    cd /Users/fred
    is not the same as
    cd Users/fred
unless you were in / already
i know it may be confusing at first but it's actually very logical if you play with it.
to simplify, think of it that / means C:\  on windows
you can't go any higher than C:\  (in a way)
if you're unsure which directory you're currently in, you can always type:
    pwd
it will tell you where you are.
    for example:
    cd /
    pwd
    this shows  /
    cd Users
    pwd
    this now shows /Users
    cd /System/Library
    pwd will show /System/Library
    cd /
    cd /Users
    cd fred
    cd Library
    pwd will show /Users/fred/Library
unix can look very scary but it's actually vital and very necessary to do tasks sometimes that would take for ever to do via the windows. This is good learning.
so for the myfile you had created, i can't tell you where it is, at the time you created, if you can do a pwd command you'll know the path,
ls -la  (this shows all the files where you are)
if you see myfile in the list
    do a pwd
whatever is return, the real location of the file would be:
    whatever pwd returned / myfile
    I hope that makes sense.

  • How to create a new account and copy all settings?

I think my main user account is corrupted. So I want to create a new account and copy all of my settings, files etc..and more than likely piecemeal just incase my settings are what is corrupted. That way I can isolate the problem.
I don't plan to delete the main account until satisfied and I also have my Time Machine backup plus my SuperDuper backup.
I can/should be able to figure out how to create the new account, but I am very unclear on the best/easiest approach to copy in my iTunes files and settings, applications(is this even an issue), address book, email, etc? I should be able to find most everything underneath my home account folders but what else am I missing here? I don't want to find out the hard way.
Please share some advice or perhaps a link/FAQ on how to approach.
    Thanks in advance.
