How do I create a start/stop button for each separate while loop within my program, when each of them does a different task?

I have a multimeter VI with separate while loops to accomplish the different tasks of reading voltage, current, etc. Each while loop has a stop button, but I need a button that will have to be pressed in order for the while loop to even start. I tried putting another while loop around the present one, but it still has to run once before it will stop. I want the user to have to press the button before it runs, because they interfere with each other.
I am just learning so patience and your kind assistance is greatly appreciated!

I have to ask, why is an NI employee using examples using sequence frames? The same thing could be accomplished using data flow by simply wiring the value of the first stop button out of teh first while loop and connecting it to the second loop. This would then use data flow to control the sequence. Why show new users bad programming methods?
As to the original question I would concur with altenbach on using an event structure.

Try calling 1-800-676-2775. Give the serial number and thy *may* still burn you new install disks designed just for the hrdware in your system (for a fee, something like $160 per disk). *May* is only because they may not burn disks for Leopard anymore.
If they do not burn them for you, you can buy Leopard disks off Amazon or eBay for about $200.
Have you considered Snow Leopard?. Those disks only cost $19 (single user) or $29 (5-user license) through Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

Multiple editing in Get Info does not offer an option to change start/stop times.

you have not mentioned where do u want the " I " information button ,
1. If u want for a report , u can get the information button on selection-screen only .
if u goto se38 on the mail screen u will find a radio button for documentaion ,
when u select it and click 'create' or 'change' , an editor will open and u can document anything there ....
2. Or specify where u want info button .

How to turn of "Automatic Start/Stop Detection for HDV Caputre

Hello,
I'm pulling my hair out trying to capture HDV 1080i-50 without getting separate clips created by the metadata at the start and stop of each shot. It's that feature called "Automatic Start/Stop Detection." I'm not talking about "Make new clip on timecode break."
How can I turn this Start/Stop thing off. I don't want all these **** clips everytime the cameraman hit the record button.
Anyone know how to turn it off so it stops making separate clips?

It's strange that I was looking for that kind of a box in all the various settings but not in the log/capture window.

sry for the lateness of my reply.
I would simply make a button that when clicked, displays a layer containing your disclaimer text. The discliamer text would be inside a Movie Clip (MC) for ease of controlling.
the MC then contains a text field which has a scrollable field. as the user scrolls through you can then display a "close" button to close out the disclaimer MC.

How do I create a start-up disk for Lion

I would like to resize the Boot Camp partition on my new iMac running Lion 10.7.2. To do that, using iPartition, I need to boot the system from another drive. Ideally I'd like to use a USB flash drive or a DVD as the alternative boot drive.
Obviously I can't boot from the Recovery HD partition on the iMac's boot drive, so I used Recovery Disk Assistant to build a Recovery HD on a flash drive. When I boot the system up from that flash drive I can see the icons for all of my files on the iMac, including those on the secondary hard drive, where iPartition lives, but I can't seem to launch any applications, including iPartition, because they are all grayed out. Best I can tell, the Recovery HD is designed to provide installation and repair services, but doesn't give you a fully functioning OS.
So my question is: How do I create a disk that will allow me to start-up a fully functioning copy of Mac OS X Lion from a drive other than my normal boot drive? My second question is: Do I need to move iPartition to that drive or will it run from the secondary drive built in to the iMac.
I'm a newbie to the Apple world, so if the answer is completely obvious, please forgive me for asking.

I used SuperDuper to create a bootable clone on an external drive where I installed my maintenance programs. Now whenever I need then I just boot from it.

Single start/stop button for looping movie

Dear Friends,
I apologize if this has been addressed already in the forum, as I have had no luck searching here or the web in general for a solution.
I currently have a 23-frame multilayered single-scene animation designed to loop continuously which I would like to add to my portfolio. As such, I am adding a Play button, which I would like to toggle to a Stop (or Pause) button. I currently have an instance of the Play button ("playButton") created.

Besides imploring your assistance in providing the code, I must also ask if this requires (and best practice for) inserting an additional frame at the beginning for the ActionScript, as well as where/what layer to add an instance of the Stop button. I would like the movie to be stopped by default, presenting the Play button, toggling to the Stop button, and back to the Play button, each upon release.

How can i create forward and back buttons for a dreamweaver slideshow?

I am an illustrator attempting to create a website in dreamweaver (basically it will be an online portfolio). I would like to have a box/slideshow with images of my work that someone can browse through by clicking 'next' and 'back' buttons. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been trying to find out how to do this for ages - i dont want to use flash if possible as i am worried about making the site too complicated. I know how to make swap image thumbnails, but i think my site would be more user friendly (and look more professional) if i could have next and back buttons. Would this involve complicated css code (which scares the life out of me!) or is there a relatively easy way to do it? I have got two 'dreamweaver for idiots' books, but neither of them cover this topic. Can anyone help?

If you are using CS4, there is a Command to create a Web Album... this does it automatically for you.
Otherwise, you can create this manually. Say you have 3 pages,
page1.html (is the index page of the album)
page2.html
page3.html
Therefore, using ordinary text links
Home would link to page1.html
Previous would link to page3.html
Next would link to page2.html
You would need to make adjustments naturally to each page as you move along with the gallery pages, changing the previous and the next links as needed. Below is a a basic example of setting up the links in a simple table structure. You would also then style the table layout as you see fit - yes, using css preferably :-)

Here's an article on creating an album using the DW Command I mentioned earlier. You could create the album and then copy and paste the code into a current page if you've already designed on.,... not too difficult, I just tested it. You do however, need to have Fireworks to process the images.

How do I create a quick tool button for a specific preflight profile to flatten the document?

I'm using Acrobat XI on a Mac.
So I've done my googling and searching of the forum, and figured out how to flatten a document (I apply my signature with a stamp) using preflight. However, I'd like to create a simple, quick tool (or otherwise) button to click and flatten a document. How do I go about doing that?

I don't think you can create a button to run a Preflight Profile. But you can create a Preflight Droplet from the Preflight Options menu. This lets you drag and drop PDF files onto the droplet (essentially an alias to run the profile). You choose a Success folder and Failure folder location to direct files which pass or fail the preflight. (Read more in Acrobat Help.)

Separate Start/Stop times for a single song file

I am trying to create some playlists for different moods e.g. calm, happy, upbeat etc.
Now, my problem is this. I have some songs that have more than one mood within them, and I would like to set different start/stop times for the one song file.
I would like to be able to set different start/stop times in each playlist and not affect the start/stop times for the file in the music library.

The only way to do this is to make a duplicate copy of the song for your playlist and adjust the times for the duplicate.

Create Run And Stop Buttons on Front Panel, rather than using the toolbar run/stop

I would like to make my vi more user friendly by creating start and stop buttons on the front panel. I havent found much info on how to create them. I have created a boolean stop button to stop my FOR LOOP.

Creating the buttons is easy - just select the style you want from the Boolean palette. What you need to do is change your diagram and the VI properties. To have a VI automatically start running when opened, open VI Properties by selecting that under the File menu or right clicking the VI's icon. Select Execution and check the Run when opened box. If you need the user to enter some data or change parameters before running the program, there's a couple of ways to go about it with a front panel Start button. You could have a separate while loop with just the start button in it and connect an output of that to a main while loop. This creates data flow and ensures that the start while loop executes before the main. You could create a simple state machine. T
here's a couple of shipping examples. Just open the Example Finder and enter state for the keyword. You could also use the Event structure. Again, there are several shipping examples. Instead of doing a search, you could also browse the Example Finder and look at what's underneath the Building User Interfaces topic.
p.s. I don't think you created a stop button for a for loop as there is no way to stop a for loop. What you can stop is a while loop.

How do i change what the stop button does

Is it possible to change the behavior of the 'STOP' button depending on the state of the 'PLAY' button? What I would like is this; When Logic is playing the 'STOP' button stops play leaving the playhead where it is. If the stop button is pressed again (while logic is stopped) the playhead returns to it's previous position.
This is how I've always used the transport in cubase and it works really well when tracking.

Right-click, or click-hold on the stop button to bring up a list of possible behaviors.

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve; do you want the start/stop button to pause the sequence and then commence where it was if start is pressed again?
Using the state machine you can still force the execution order but have more control; you can stop the sequence whenever you want, skip frames based on user input or other...and you can have a single start/stop button.
