How can I permantely delete email information from my iphone4?
I deleted all my emails from inbox and trash, but the Mail "file" still has 2GB...

Does anyone have an answer to this problem? It's been 4 or 5 days now and iCloud still says I have 0kb of 5GB available, and 6.1GB of mail on iCloud. I guess that's better than yesterday when it said I had 8.3GB of mail. Does anyone know if it simply takes Apple a week to actually empty a mailbox?
thanks in advance, hopefully tomorrow it says I have only 4GB of non-existent mail and I can start using it again...

  • How can I delete all my email from my outlook account without deleting the account?

I am trying to delete the many emails from my outlook account which I can bring up on my ipad mini.  I want to keep the outlook email on the ipad.  So far all I have been able to do is bring up the email list, touch edit, then touch each email then move to trash.  I have a lot of email and would like to delete them all at once.  Thanks for any assistance!

    The Apple instructions state:
    Edit a mailbox.
While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select certain messages or tap Mark All, then:
Tap Mark to Flag, Mark as Read or Move to Junk
Tap Move to move selected messages into a mailbox
Tap Trash to move them to the trash
If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.
Unfortunately, the MOVE and the Trash buttons never activate ... is there a fix for this or is this an oversight?

  • How can I delete all the email from a user's account?

I have a user account with a huge amount of mail (around 50K messages) that Apple Mail can't deal with... it constantly hangs and/or crashes whether I use POP or IMAP to try and delete all the mail from the client.
How can I delete all the mail from the mailbox on the server? I don't want to delete the account entirely, I just want to empty everything out of it.
    Thanks!

  • How do I delete old downloaded emails from hotmail

When I bought my Macbook Pro the Apple tech helping me set it up incorrectly started downloading thousands of old emails from my Hotmail account. I don't use the email account on my Macbook and prefer not to. How do I find and delete these emails and the attachments that were included? I just recently figured out that they exist on my Macbook. Thanks!

Why didn't the Apple tech correct your issue?

  • How do i delete a icould email from my iphone when i no longer have access to the email address and my security questions dont match to get in to the account?

I am trying to delete my icloud account from my iphone as i no longer have access to this email and when i try to challenge the security question to access the account apparently i dont know my own date of birth. I cant delete the account as i dont remeber the passwrod and i have a new icloud account that i would like to link the phone to. Any help would be appreciated
    thanks

If the old ID (iCloud account) is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
This will not work if your current ID is an entirely new ID and is not a newer version of the old ID.

  • How do I delete a bad email from iCloud so it will stop showing up?

I followed the instructions to remove a bad email from my email on my macair but it won't go away.  I think that stupid icloud won't let me get rid of anything and it drives me nuts.  Every time I try to send an email to the correct address, the wrong one keeps popping up.  There should be a way to permanently remove something you want removed (unlike iPhone that removes everything you don't want removed).  May have to go back to pc world -- apple lacks logical apps.

You mean that it's auto-completing the address incorrectly? Go to 'Previous Recipients' from the 'Window' menu and delete the address from the list. (This is in Mail 4.6, I don't know if it's the same in later versions.)

  • How can i delete old outdated emails from my ipad?

Ipads and Iphones remember every email I have ever used.  Even if I make a typo or if I have deleted an old email.  There seems to be no way of deleting them.  Now I find that when I was in a hurry and sent an email to "Teresa"  the choices that come up are the new AND the old one. Also, my husband thought his gmail was [email protected] but it REALLY was [email protected]  The devices remember both so when I copy him on an event i am offered both choices and have to debate with myself which is correct.  Any know a way to fix this???
    Thanks!

Hi Ritahyde - There is a way to remove recent email addresses that you have used on your iPad and iPhone as long as they are not in your contacts. To do this, create a new email and start typing the email address that he would like to delete. As soon as it pops up, there will be on the right-hand side a circle with the letter "I". Tap on that circle and you will be taken to your recent email address and at the bottom you can click on "remove from recents".
Now, if you do not see that circle icon to the right of that email address, that means that you have saved this email address in your contacts and you need to delete it from there first.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do i delete all my emails from my ipad

How can I delete all of the messages in my email?  It keeps telling me its unable to delete.  I would like to be able to mass delete instead of deleting one at a time.

The only way to mass delete would be to go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and remove that email account.

  • How do I delete all the emails from the inbox of my ipod touch?

As a result of my lack of management, I now have 1500 emails in the inbox of my ipod Touch. I know how do delete them using "Edit", selecting each email and then deleting, but I would like to delete them all, in one action. How do I do this, please?

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it. and there should be.
Try this, I never have but it should work.
    on your touch go to
    1 Settings
    2 Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3 select your email account ( the one with 1500 emails)
    4. scroll down and select Advanced
    5. select Remove
    6. select After one day  ( the default is never)
tomorrow your 1500 emails should be gone. any new emails should be there.
You may want to keep the setting at one day, one week, one month or never. BUT you should probably cleanup and delete some of those 1500 old emails.

  • How can I delete all the email from a user's account? (Update for 10.6)

When I tried this on OS X Server 10.6:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2317213&tstart=0
I got an error about "configdirectory" option not being specified in configuration file... anyone know what this means and how to fix it?
    Thanks!

    Hi
If I've understood you correctly and if you've used that exact same command It's not surprising it won't work. Perhaps you've forgotten but Cyrus is not part of 10.6 Server. It was replaced with Dovecot. I've not used 10.6 Mail Services yet so I'm not certain but I think deleting the User deletes the mailbox?
Perhaps someone who is can verify?

  • Unable to delete 2 specific emails from inbox

    Hi
My iphone 3G is sending and receiving emails perfectly, however I have 2 "ghost" emails which appear to be stuck and will not allow me to delete them. When I swipe over them the delete icon displays but returns to home page when I press it. Both these emails have no headers or content. Just blank lines with an arrow beside. My mailbox on the homepage is constantly showing 2 new messages. Apart from these 2, every other message is fine.
I have contacted apple support and have followed advice on deleting account from iphone, resetting then recreating. They came back. These messages are not displayed in my outlook.
Can anyone advise me how to get rid of these 2 emails.
Your help will be much appreciated
    Best regards
    Susan

    Hi Susan,
Is this a POP or IMAP account?
Try deleting the account from the iPhone and then adding it again. On the iPhone, tap Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, the account> Delete Account at the bottom of the page.
Do you still see the blank emails after adding the account again?
