  • How to determine the month from the week number?

    Hi all,
in a routine i have the week number in a year and i need to find the month but i don't know the correct FM to use for this.
Is there anyone that had to face a similar problem?
I'm considering that to determine the month it will be used the first day of the week since there are weeks belonging to 2 different months...
    Thank you
    Stefano

    Hi
If you have a Fiscal Year Variant determined for the week you can use function module PERIOD_DAY_DETERMINE by passing week, fiscal year and fiscal year variant for the week which will return fist and last date.So based on last data you can determine the month.

  • How can I determine how many events are in my calendars?

The web version of my iCloud Calendar and subsequently also my Calendar.app did show recently various malfunctions and error messages that were inconsistant. Also, Calendar.app crashed when I was editing events. Finally, Calendar.app did complain that my iCloud account would be out of quota, and did direct me to this KB article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4489
I did not know about these quotas before which are not really high and quite limiting for use over longer periods of time. After checking them, I think that my real data are below these limits. However, there might be one exception:
    - Total number of calendars, events, and reminders: 25,000
25,000 sounds a lot, but when you devide by 6 events per day (which is easily reached if you combine family and buisness, and maybe repeated events also count for each repetition at least after editing), one ends up at 4200 days which is not much more than 11 years. I am using Calendar with data since the year 2000 (for some time I used Palm Desktop that took over the (very) old Mac Calendar application and imported/moved the data when iCloud Calendar became available).
    My questions:
    - how can I determine the number of events in my calendars?
    - which events do count in which way for the quota limit?
    - what about events from shared calenders - do they count if owned by another account?
    - what about repeated events which are partially edited?
Thanks in advance for any hint!

    Hi there
I ran into the same problem last year. The solution I used is available here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1693875
Apple don't seem keen to tell you you've reached your limit and if you think that isn't helpful tough luck. I reached due to duplicate events being created. I didn't know what had happened until I eqnuired further on the above forum. Someone needs to create an event counter application. Perhaps they have. Would need to do a search.
However I've now reached the limit again and I'm not sure why, cue more faffing around being required. That's one of the problems of using a Mac computer with an Android phone.
As for the limit, it exists and if you dont like it you need to change the way you work not Apple. That's the impression I get. Alternatively use something else that has more generious limts. I don't know what that would be. I did consider moving my calendars to Google but it would have meant certain functionality would not work in BusyCal, the third part calendar application I use on my Mac computer.

  • How do I determine what my early termination fee will be?

My phone broke last week. The ear piece is distorted but it still works using a headset. I went into the store to see about fixing it. The don't work on LG Chocolates and I was told the replacement is an LG Extravert. I inquired about getting a new phone and using the value of the Extravert towards the new phone but was told they don't do that. I have been paying insurance on my phone for a couple years now and thought that meant I'd get a phone that was as good as my Chocolate. (removed) Since they would not work anything out with me(a 15 year customer with a family of 4 plan), I had them send me the Extravert. The store clerk said it was going to be there the next day. Apparently next day means over-the-weekend. So I was out of town the beginning of the week and didn't get to open the box until yesterday. The Extravert came incomplete with no battery nor back. It is also clown-red. The specs show it is clearly not an equal replacement for my Chocolate. Whatever... Anyway I got to argue with 2 Verizon reps on the phone about how it was not an equivalent phone for about an hour at one point being told that i had the option of selling the Extravert back to them for, much to my chagrin, $1. I pay $6 a month to insure my phone and they will send me a phone they value at $1!. I asked how much they would sell me the Extravert for and the rep said around $175! So you can probably see why I am not a happy customer. 15 years of loyalty and they can't do a thing to help me and don't seem to care. I realize it is not the person I talk to on the phones company and I am just one person so I am small potatoes. Again, whatever... So after the frustration of the last week, I have decided I need to end my relationship here and move on. So after venting, how does Verizon determine the early termination fee? Thanks in advance for your responses and a big no-thanks to Dorothy (removed) who was one of the exasperating folks I got to argue with for an hour yesterday...

You can't cancel service online.  However, if you  are moving to another carrier, start service with them and port your number - that will initiate the  cancellation from Verizon.  You also have to have an active line of service to port your number; if you cancel before starting service with someone else, your number is lost.
Backdating an increased data allowance is preferable and allowed - prorating is why you can't backdate a reduction.  It will most likely result in overages in a majority of situations, defeating the purpose of the reduction, so it is simply not possible to do.  The reduced allowance will take effect the next billing cycle.

  • How do I determine what 4 computers are authorized to download content from my account?

How do I determine what 4 computers are authorized to download content from my account?  I need to manage what computers are authorized.

You can only see a count of how many computers are authorised, you can't see a list of them. If the computers are also associated to your account (e.g. you've used iTunes Match, automatic downloads, or redownloaded past purchases on them) then they might also show in the 'manage devices' section of your account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View Account menu option): Manage your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support
You can also, once every 12 months, log into account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View Account) and deauthorise all computers and then reauthorise the computers (which you can only do directly on them) that you still have and need.

I bought my refurbished Mac Pro in June 2007. I can't determine in the System Profiler if I have PCIv1.1 or v2.0. Does anyone know how to find out? MacTracker and machistory.com haven't answered the question. It seems some of the MacPro1,1 models shipped with v1.1 and some with v2.0. How do I determine what I have? Thanks for your help!

How do I determine whether I have PCI Express v1.1 or v2.0?
    Hi,
Open Apple System Profiler (About this Mac:More info) and look at the Hardware: Model Identifier. If it says Mac Pro 1,1 or Mac Pro 2,1 you have PCIe v1.1 slots.
    http://www.amug.org/amug-web/html/amug/reviews/articles/intel/macpro/
If it says Mac Pro 3,1 you have PCIe v1.1 in slots 3 and 4 and PCIe v2.0 in slots 1 and 2.
    http://www.amug.org/amug-web/html/amug/reviews/articles/intel/macpro-2008/
If it says Mac Pro 4,1 you have PCIe v2.0 in all four slots.

    Hope that helps!

  • Every day, just after midnight, my 3GS transmits about a gig of data.  How do I determine what is doing it and where its sending it?

Every day my 3GS cellularly transmits about 1 gig of data, eating up my monthly limit.  How do I determine what's doing it so I can stop it?

I'm told that sometimes you can figure out what apps are sending data via Settings -> General -> About -> Automatically Send, and then the following day, look at the Diagnostic & Usage Data.
The data is rather cryptic, so even if it is in there, it may not be easy to figure out.

  • How does vendor determine if no info record is maintained for the material

how does vendor determine if no info record is maintained for the material

    Hi
If you have to determine a vendor, the minimum requirement is Info record. Beyond that, you can ofcourse maintain Source Lists, Quota Arrangements but Info record is bare minimum for automatic determination of vendor.
Otherwise, you have to maintain the vendor manually in th Purchasing docs.
Tcodes for Info record are ME11, ME12, and ME13.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks

  • How Do You Determine Flat Rates?

I usually charge by the hour but I'm curious how other editors determine flat rates at a client's request. In my particular instance, I've been asked to edit a 6-camera mutli-can concert shoot. The client will supply all materials and choose the specific songs they want for a 1-hour final cut. Afterwards I'll author a DVD complete with motion menus and bonus materials. I'm finding it challenging to determine how may hours this may take ahead of time. It's easy to determine the capturing and outputing and transcoding times but I'll have to guesstimate real editing time. Any thoughts?

    Always overestimate. Give them freebies.
I overestimate time and tell the clients that it's a "safe" estimate, then knock a few hours off their bill when the job is complete. They're under budget now, and I'm still making a good profit. Everybody's a winner.
Tell them the encode is free, but add a few hours somewhere else. (You'll do the encode while you sleep anyway, right?)
Keep in mind when setting your hourly rate that they're not just paying for you, they're paying for your system as well.
Also, are you editing the full show, then cutting out songs they don't want? Make sure you account for that as well.
I always overestimate. Period. Then you have leeway before or after they accept the bid. Maybe you're a bit over their budget? Give them the hour of render time and sync time for free. They think they're getting a better deal, you're making that money up somewhere else, anyway.
Also, if you overestimate in every area, when you come upon an unexpected expense somewhere else, you have money somewhere. Example, I'm just burning masters for a DVD I just completed. I neglected to factor in a $700 rush fee from the replicator when I quoted the job. Luckily, I overestimated $1000 for gear from the shoot. I take that $700 from there and still bill $300 less than the estimate.
Leave yourself extra everywhere you can. If there's a ton left over, make your client the hero and bill a little less. If there's just a bit left over, keep it and buy yourself something pretty.

  • How do I determine why yosemite will no longer shut down?

This is a new problem, not occurring after installing Yosemite.  Now my iMac will not shutdown it just has that spinning icon that will go on forever unless I hold down the power button.  How do I determine what is causing it?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • HT201250 How can I determine which Time Machine backups can be deleted to free space on my backup device?

Time Machine keeps hourly backups for the past 24 hours, daily backups for the past month, and weekly backups.
But are they all incremental or full backups?
How can I determine which can be deleted to free space on my backup device?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
So, if TimeMachine only makes one full backup the first time a backup is taken, and then automatically removes backups as space is needed, is there a danger that there can come a point where no single restore point exists?
I find Apple's lack of detail around this topic disappointing. It's such an important thing.
I guess TimeMachine doesn't work quite how I want it too. Seems to be true of so many Apple products!

  • Async tcp client and server. How can I determine that the client or the server is no longer available?

    Hi,
Have you debug these two applications? Does it go into the catch exception block when you close the client or the server?
According to my test, it will throw an exception when the client or the server is closed, just log the exception message in the catch block and then you'll get it:
    private async void Process()
    try
    while (true)
    var data = await this.Receive();
    this.NewMessage.Invoke(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(data));
    catch (Exception exception)
    Console.WriteLine(exception.Message);
Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing   connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
By the way, I don't know what the SafeInvoke method is, it may be an extension method, right? I used Invoke instead to test it.

  • How can I determine the type of video out connector I need?

    Howdy,
I have a white macbook purchased Jun/2008. I want to connect to a TV but don't know what adapter I need. How can I determine the type of video out jack my macbook has?
System Profiler says the model identifier is "MacBook 4,1". Under Graphics/Displays the only thing it says about the "Display Connector" is that no display is connected. Too bad it doesn't tell me what type of connector it is. If I knew the name of the connector I'd probably be home free. But it seems like every macbook model has a different video connector (since the state of the art has advanced over the years) and I haven't been able to keep up with the names.
Now, I have a 6" long adapter that will convert this connector to VGA. And searching the Apple store for VGA adapters, the existence of mine says my connector is might be one of "Mini DisplayPort", "Apple Mini DVI", "Apple DVI", or "Apple Micro-DVI". But then there is also the connector at
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8639G/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
and that looks like the one I have. But unlike the other adapters, this one is just called a "VGA Display Adapter". Does the connector have a name? How can I find adapters that have that same connector?
I know I could use the adapter I have, plus a VGA to VGA cable, to hook up to a TV. But the quality of the VGA signal is poor in the digital world. My goal is to hook up to the TV via HDMI. Is this even possible? By which I mean, will my macbook generate the signals necessary to be able to be converted to HDMI?
    Thanks for any help,
    Zebulon T

    Thanks, Ded,
You're right, the cable that I have won't work. I't from my previous, 2004 iBook. This is pretty embarrassing... I looked at the cable but didn't bother to try plugging it in.
Looking at the close-up picture of the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, that does look like the right connector. So I have Mini-DVI, and the other apter you pointed to can convert this to DVI. I'll take a look to see what makes the most sense, connector wise, downstream from that.
    Thanks very much.

  • How to syatem determine delivery date in sales order

    hi sap gurus
how to syatem determine delivery date in sales order
    Thanks and regards
    ram

    Hi Friend,
There are many things which determines the delivery dates.
    01. PICK TIME+ PACK TIME +LOADING TIME
    02. LEAD TIME in days (VOV8)
    03. Shipping point
    04. Scheduling line
    05. Kind of availblity check
    06. If the above things are maintained as blank then the current date will be the delivery date
However whether it must be proposed by the system or not is determined by one check box there find in VOV8 in requesteed delivery date determination tab.
