How do I determinie where to save document

I'm writing in Pages on the iPad. The document is automatically saved to iCloud. Is there a way to save it somewhere else? Like Dropbox or the iPads internl memory?

Thanks! This is excellent. (Only I still miss the Mac menu bar and "Save as..." which is the most useful computer function ever invented.)
So do I, not real wild about the way that you save in Lion and Mountain Lion.
Sometimes I wonder why Apple took something that worked so well, forever .... And felt the need to change it. Ah well... Technology moves on and we must move on with it or get left behind.

    How can I determine where to publish each comment in my website?
    I have one form for the comments, but I want to show them in different webpages depending on the user choice
    for example, I created 6 pages blue circle, pink circle,  green circle, blue square, pink square, and green square,so  the user chooses pink or blue or green from one menu and circle or square from another menu which determine which page it will be displayed on.
    you can see the form on the bottom of this website  www.assori.com
    thanks for any help

    It's my fault, I lost you there.
    See I wrote the steps as they were in  "Adobe Help" so please forget about the last comment.
    I chose the "advanced mode" because I have more than one menu to filter (shape and color)
    lets say I want the comments on my website to be displayed conditionaly, and I have two lists one for colors (blue and pink) and other for shapes (square and circle),
    So I'm going to have four pages each page has its own recordset, let's say now I want to filter the recordset for (Blue Circle) page
    I don't know how to do it but by following the steps in Dreamweaver help:
    -Select name, and click the Select button.
    -Select content, and click the Select button.
    -Select shape, and click the Where button.
    -Select section, and click the Where button.
    -Select time, and click the Order By button.
    this is how the SQL statement look likes:
    SELECT mytable.name, mytable.contents
    FROM mytable
    WHERE mytable.shape='circle' AND mytable.`section`='blue'
    ORDER BY mytable.hdw_serverTime
    then to Define the variables 'circle' and 'blue' :
    by clicking the Plus (+) button in the Variables area and entering the following values in the Name, Default Value, and Run-Time Value columns:
    circle,square,Request("circle")
    blue,blue,Request("blue")
    Also I understand that I have to define a parameter but which (URL or Form) and how?  I don't know

  • Report Background Engine - How do I determine where it is located

    We have several servers running Oracle Forms and Reports.
    The person who set up the applications I supported has
    left and no one can tell me which Reports Background
    engine/server my reports are running on. How can I
    determine it and tell them.
    Thank you.
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
    If you are running the background engine (rwrbe60.exe on windows or rwrbe60 on solaris using run_product) then it will be in the same Oracle Home as your Forms installation. However, if you are running with the Reports Server (rwmts60.exe or rwmts60) then there is a server parameter that should be part of your command line. If you are using the cgi and you don't see it, it's likely specified in the key which is defined in your cgicmd.dat file. The cgicmd.dat file is located on the machine where your rwcgi60 executable resides. That server name will match an entry in your tnsnames.ora file located on the same machine.
    Hope that helps,
    Toby

  • How should we determine whether a business document is edi enabled

    Hi,
    One of my requirement is to find whether a business document is edi enabled or not.Example : Sales Order,ASN,PO,Planning Schedule,Warehouse Shipping Order,Warehouse Shipping Advice.The requirement is we should be able to send these documents to/from SAP system.
    Custom development is not preferred.Could any one help me in saying how should I research whether a these documents are EDI enabled or not.
    Regards ,
    Nagaraju Donikena.

    Nagaraju,
    If you are talking about IDOCs for the documents that you have specified, then they are NOT EDI enabled. EDI is nothing but a specific format.
    You might need a middleware.

  • How do I determine where harddrive is being used?

    I recently bought an iBook and have been installing music/pics on it. As far as I can tell, I've imported about 18 GB of material. But when I Get Info for the Macintosh HD, it shows 32 GB of the hard drive have been used. Even assuming that I've put some other limited files, this seems very high. Is there an easy function that will let me see where my memory is being used? I know that I can search folder by folder, but I've tried and must be missing where the additional 14 GB is being used. Thanks. Tim

    Tiger install will take up 12gb if you don't go through and do a custom install and remove stuff that you don't need.
    There is a program that you can download that tells you the size of each folder, get it here: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13006

  • VBS:How can i determine the last row of an excel-sheet

    I want to replace the chn-comments of an datafile. I pick up the chn-names and want to compare them with an excel-file and so get from the excel-file the right chn-comment and store int back in the datafile. my problem is how can i determine where the excelfile-row is on the end to load the loopounter with corr values.
    i know one solution via scan on ascii 13 and 9.but bether is to know immediately the length of the column.
    answers also in german possible.

    Peter,
    Are you using DIAdem's Excel Import Wizard? By "Excel file" do you mean a tab- or comma-delimited ASCII file that Excel can read in easily, or do you mean a file with the extension "*.xls"? You certainly could not search through an *.xls file to find CR/LF characters.
    If you use the ASCII or Excel Import Wizard to create an *.STP file for the "Excel" file in question, then after the *.STP file is loaded you have access to a whole range of variables, starting with Ascii... or Excel... which completely outline the structure of the ASCII or Excel file, including things like the row in which the channel comments are, etc.
    Why don't you send over your Excel file and I'll be able to help you a lot better.

  • Determining where jvm.dll is + extensive CPU usage

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a JNI wrapper for my java application. I have reached the stage where I can launch the program, providing I have the path to jvm.dll in my path variable.
    I was wondering if there was any way to determine this path at runtime, seeming as it is highly unlikely anyone using this program would have it pre-set. I was thinking I could use run a command from within the program to set the path variable temporarily, however how would I determine where their javavm was installed?
    Is there no way of shipping the dll with the program?
    Also when running my java program through the JNI wrapper it uses about 85 - 90% of my CPU whereas when running it w/o the cpu usage is nominal (about 2 - 10%)
    Why is this?

    Sorry for the lack of response... Been doing other things and forgot about this post...
    First you can search for current version but if your Java >app has a mandatory min version
    that must be greater than the current version found then >you could search the keys for max version to see if it fits >to use.My program requires j1.6 though could be downgraded to req 1.5 with the removal of 1 class
    ]On Windows you read the registry database for this >information.
    Specifically you read the value of the string >CurrentVersion from the key >HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/JavaSoft/Java >Runtime Environment.
    Then you use that value to read the value of the string >RuntimeLib
    from the key >HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/JavaSoft/Java >Runtime Environment/{CurrentVersion value}.
    This value gives you the absolute path of the jvm.dll file.sorry I probably didn't explain how new I am at JNI. All I have is minimal C++ experience (command line hello world apps and the like), and amateur experimentation with java (only 15, not out of secondary education yet.) How does one go about reading the registry using C/C++, (although I'm sure I could find some documentation somewhere on the net.)
    Depends on what you want to do with multiple JREs >installed.get the newest one :)
    Basic wrapper code I am using at the moment...: (all I want to do is execute my java app from a .exe file rather than an executable jar)
    As you can probably see.. is just a bodge of an example from the internet.
    Currently my program searches for jvm.dll from the PATH variable.
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <jni.h>
    void invoke_class(JNIEnv* env) {
         jclass helloWorldClass;
         jmethodID mainMethod;
         jobjectArray applicationArgs;
         jstring applicationArg0;
         helloWorldClass = (*env)->FindClass(env, "be/bavardage/vocab/VocabGUI");
         mainMethod = (*env)->GetStaticMethodID(env, helloWorldClass, "main", "([Ljava/lang/String;)V");
         applicationArgs = (*env)->NewObjectArray(env, 1, (*env)->FindClass(env, "java/lang/String"), NULL);
         applicationArg0 = (*env)->NewStringUTF(env, "From-C-program");
         (*env)->SetObjectArrayElement(env, applicationArgs, 0, applicationArg0);
         (*env)->CallStaticVoidMethod(env, helloWorldClass, mainMethod, applicationArgs);
    int main(int argc, char **argv) {
    JavaVM* jvm;
         JNIEnv* env;
         JavaVMInitArgs args;
         JavaVMOption options[1];
         /* There is a new JNI_VERSION_1_4, but it doesn't add anything for the purposes of our example. */
         args.version = JNI_VERSION_1_6;
         args.nOptions = 1;
         //options[0].optionString = "-Djava.class.path=c:\\package\\";
         options[0].optionString = "-Djava.class.path=vocab.jar";
         args.options = options;
         args.ignoreUnrecognized = JNI_FALSE;
         JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, (void **)&env, &args);
         env;
         invoke_class( env );
         while (!(*env)->ExceptionCheck( env )) {

    Saving a Pages document: when I first save a pages document it saves and I don't know where it goes or what its name is.  I want to be asked every time I save a pages document what to name it and where to save it. How do I set this preference?

    I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

  • How can I allow Contribute Users to save documents somewhere other than "docs"?

    Our website was rebuilt by an outside company, who took my file structure and dumped it into the new site (I use Dreamweaver and our staff uses Contribute for their little niche of the web). We have a large site with multiple folders within the site. Those folders have several folders below them to sub-divide the tons of info we have to keep straight. However when I set up the parameters for the Contribute users, I only seemed to have one option to save documents (the "docs" folder).
    I need for Contribute users to be able to save documents/files deeper in the file structure. How can I do that?
    Thanks for any assistance! I hope this made sense.
    Mark

    The answer depends on how "good" your Contribute users actually are. By default, Contribute always places documents in the same folder as the page in a "documents" folder. I see two potential options: (1) the user(s) needs to go to the where the document needs to live and place the link at that level or (2) you can show your user the "Publish File From My Computer" (under file, in the third section) which would allow them to place the document in the correct location and then link to it from whatever page is appropriate. Personally, that would be a last choice.

    I have purchased Adobe XI Pro and created a form for entering bowling scores to submit to newspaper for my high school team.  I can not figure out how to get pdf's into my documents folder on my iPad so that I can access the files in bowling alleys where I do not have a Wi-Fi connections.  I need to be able access files without going to acrobat.com.  Help!!!@

    Post the PDF files to a web site. The browse to them in Safari on the iPad.  When you Open the files specify the Open to occur in Adobe Reader.  Then you can have/Save them in your Documents folder on the iPad.   An iPad has limited access to files otherwise.

  • How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document

    How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document?

    Thank you so much - so simple!  I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options.  I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it.  Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
    I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.
    Thanks again

    HOw do I save documents from iCloud into pages using an ipad?

    Where are you expecting to see "iCloud document?" Pages stores copies of your documents in iCloud but the documents appear in the Pages app. When you edit the document changes are automatically saved to iCloud. You do not go to iCloud to look for documents to open or copy.

    How do I convert a power point document to a pdf where it will show the notes for each slide?

    To get the 'handout view' with a slide and the speaker notes on the same page, you have to save the PDF file directly from PowerPoint (the later versions of Microsoft Office can make PDF files without the help of Acrobat).
