How do I edit words on a pdf document?

I have revieved an email with a pdf attachment. This attachment is a scan of a letter. How do I edit words in the letter?

In its current state, those letters are merely an image - there is no text.
With Acrobat Professional - perhaps Standard, you would utilize Document > OCR Text Recognition
That option in AA X and XI are probably elsewhere.

Or are you opening the Photoshop PDF and trying to resize the live text layers?
There shouldn't be any issue with making 120 pt text. I just created a 250 pt text layer in PS as a test.
Have you enlarged the text box? If the text box isn't that big. making the text larger make cause it to overset and no longer be visible.
Grab the corner of the text box and drag it to enlarge it.
If things aren't working correctly, it would be faster to recreate the gift voucher in InDesign.
You mentioned having the background image, just add the text are you are ready to print.
After rereading your last post it is unclear who will be adding the text for the money amount.
Are you adding this yourself before printing, or are you hoping to give a PDF to the client where he can add/change the money amount?
Things like this need to be mentioned upfront.

I have a doubt regarding the workflows.
The scenario is when a manager gets a workitem, he has attach a document in the workitem and then approve or reject it.
Actually, before approving or rejecting, the manager has to get email from other approvers who dont have access to SAP or Portal. So, once he gets approval on email then he would take a screen shot of the email and paste in a word document and attach it in the workitem and then approve/reject the workitem. is it possible. This workitem should be visible to the admin people or anybody who checks that workflow instance in the log.
Hope the requirement is clear.
Please suggest whether this is possible and how.

How these approvers are notified about workitem?
However, you can make use of decision step to approve or reject.
When Manager will open the work item ,SAP standard functionality can be used to attach file , here manager can select word file format and attach the required file. then he can approve or reject it.
This file would be saved as instance of SOFM object and a background method would be required if you want to read the contents.

1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.

If your BB came with the DataViz ToGo apps, then you can indeed do what you desire. Check under (usually) Applications for Word-to-go, sheet-to-go and other ToGo apps. You can edit a file you save to your device or media card memory. You can send them as attachments. Etc.

If you have not saved the document and Acrobat closed then it's not possible to retrieve the lost data on the pdf file.

How can I transfer my docx. and pdf. files using the newest edition of microsoft office word from my Laptop to the program "pages 09"?
It seems that pages can only import doc. files? To convert my files makes no sense because the whole layout will be messed up.

Are you sure your posting this in the appropriate forum? you mention "Pages 09", but this is the iPad pages forum. (I know the link above does not say "IPad", but it is).
If this is on iPad:
Word doesn't open pdf files, only outputs them. Use Goodreader on the ipad to read any pdfs, or other pdf reader that is free.
I just tried opening a docx file on my iPad and it opened fine in Pages. Just had to replace a font that wasn't on the iPad that I apparenlty had used on the document.
If not on iPad:
Desktop Pages opens docx files fine, it did it before MS published the Mac version that saved as docx.
PDF's should open in Preview.

I'm looking to see if there is a way to make only part of a PDF document editable. My problem is, I have pieces of collateral that some of our channel partners need to be able to add their logo to and then edit the contact information on them, but we don't want them to be able to change any of the main copy on these documents. The only thing I've been able to come up with as a solution is to create outlines of the text that I don't want editable, but I need the copy to be able to be read by computer systems for disability purposes. Does anyone have any ideas on something I could do for this? Or has anyone dealt with anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
