How do I find out the phone number in a new house?

I have recently moved into a new student house and I am struggling to set up the Internet because I cannot retrieve the landline number from the previous tenants plus we don't have a phone at the house either. Is there a way I can find out the landline number online? Help!

17070 is normally allowed on stopped lines, as it enables field engineers to do pair identification. Sometimes 1470 needs to be added as a prefix, if the number was withheld.
Where possible, old phone lines are left with "soft" dial-tone, as it saves extra work when a new line is provided, and encourages new customers.
Some service providers insert a recorded announcement if someone tries to dial out. "Welcome to XXXX service provider, please dial XXX to activate this line"  or something similar.

  • When I receive an SMS message, how do I find out the phone number it came from?

When I receive an SMS message from a person in my address book, the Messages app in my iPhone shows the name of the person who sent the message.  At the top of the conversation, I can tap the word "Contact", which brings up the Contact's name, a phone icon, a camera icon, and a letter i in a circle.  If I tap the i, it brings up the sender's record from my address book.  How do I know which of the sender's multiple phone numbers is the number that he sent the message from?

  • How can I find out what phone number is associated with my internet service?

It is not on a bill.  I can not find information regarding a Verizon account number.  Need to know what or how to find out the phone number associated with this account.

It will be on your bill.  Everything from VZW has a phone number associated with it. That is how your device dials in and connects with VZW, even through you as a user never needs to.
If you post your VZW device perhaps we can find the steps for you to look up the VZW number directly on the device through some of the support documentation.

  • How can I find out the apn number of the battery without having it?

I dont have the battery of my iphone 5 anymore but how can i find out the apn number of the battery? I would like to change it but i need to know the apn number to choose the right battery.

Apple does not provide any user-serviceable parts (other than accessories or sometimes a SIM card tray).
Therefore, there are no legitimate iPhone batteries available for sale anywhere.
Anything you find will either be salvaged, counterfeit, or stolen.

  • How can I find out my phone number?

    Hello,
I have a Nokia E71 which I use both as business and personal phone. My SIM card has 2 PINs, one for business and one for personal. My problem is that sometimes on sunday evenings or monday mornings I forget to switch off the phone in order to log on again with the business PIN. Which means that I sometimes do international calls on my personal account without noticing it. Vice versa is not nice either, e.g. if I do long personal calls during the weekend on my employer's account.
What I'm looking for is a small application which shows me how I'm logged in (actually, showing the phone number would be sufficient because there is a separate phone number for each PIN). I've looked into the C++ APIs how this can be done but before I invest time and effort to get familiar with Symbian programming I thought somebody might know a solution to the problem.
    Thanks for any reply,
    Kai
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If the network operator has stored the number on the SIM card, try Contacts > Options > SIM contacts > SIM directory.
There, hit Options and choose "My numbers".
Most operators, however, do not put the numbers on the SIM, so usually you'll get just "(no data)" shown.
Some operators also have an USSD service, where you can type in a *nnn# format code, and the network will respons with the number. Check your operator's web site or call their customer service whether they support it, or not.

  • How do I find out the Applecare number?

I know I have the Protection Plan, but I don't remember what the number was..

You can find Apple's contact numbers here:
    http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html
The regular AppleCare Support number has a menu option for questions about AppleCare itself, without going to technical support.
If you've already enrolled your product, you don't need to concern yourself with the enrollment number. Apple's never asked for the enrollment number again after I've enrolled 250 Macs at work and then needed some service. You can check your AppleCare status on the main AppleCare Support page by entering your serial number in the field under "About Your Support Coverage" section.

  • How do I find out the serial number of my stolen iPod Touch?

I went on a skiing trip to Boston a few weeks ago (I'm from the UK, hehehe) and on the last day my iPod Touch, along with 4 others in my year, went missing from all of our hotel rooms. Me and my friends thought it was a bit of a coincidence that we were all in the youngest year group but we were sure that our iPods had been stolen when a completely wiped out (resetted/restored) iPod had been found in one of the rooms that didn't belong to any of us as it didn't match the size (8GB ect). The Police were involved at some point as well but I don't really know what happened after that;S Anyway... I need the serial number to claim for the insurance. I appreciate any help:)

Sorry to hear about such behavior in our country and that it was aimed at visitors.
Did you register the iPod with Apple when you purchased/activated it?  If so, Apple will have the serial number in the system.  They may not be willing to release that information to you without really solid proof that you are who you say you are.  But they will with the police.
    Try:
    http://www.apple.com/contact
and see if someone on there can point you in the right direction to get the serial number.

  • How can I find out the serial number for my FCE 4.0 that came with my old MacBook Pro?

When I try and open my old FCE projects on my new MacBook Pro, a dialog box pops up and asks me to input the serial number for my Final Cut Express program. The software came pre-loaded on my old MacBook Pro which died. Luckily, my local Apple store was able to transfer the fcp files to my new MacBook Pro, which came with FCP X installed. I just can't open those files without the serial number of the FCE 4.0 program.
    Message was edited by: Garyb1978

It is almost impossible to transfer FCE as there are so many essential hidden files that workers in an Apple Store will know nothing about. The app needs to be installed from the original DVD.
Other than buying another copy your only chance  (very remote) is to contact the Apple Store and see if they are able to get a replacement number from Apple.

  • How do i find out the node number/name from the weblogic API  ?

    Hi
I have written an application component that writes to a file. When clustered, i need to make the filename correspond to the managed server / node # inside the cluster, as i cannot afford to let each jvm hence each node write to the same file. Therefore on startup i would like to interrogate the weblogic server and ask it the node # the application is deployed in, so that it can create a unique file name - BASED upon the node number.
              Any ideas anyone ?
              Thanks
              James

You may want to use WebLogic JMX api to do that. Using MBeanHome, you will get the name of the server on which your application gets invoked.

How can I find out the serial / installation codes for these? I saw a reply however, it was not my name and assumed it was for someone else. Now timed out. If you registered PSE before, go to the main page of adobe.com, sign in and go to your account and you should find the serial number there in your purchases.
