How do I fix a corrupt user profile

Hi,
I have a user profile that is corrupt. In CA, under People, Manage User Profiles, I can't find the broken user profile but when I try to create profile again with New Profile. It won't let me. As it says the Profile exists already. How do I
fix this broken profile in SharePoint 2013? Thanks.
SPYliu

I've had to use code like the above to delete user profiles before - however - I would strongly suggest excluding the loop from the above code - otherwise you'll be deleting ALL user profiles - which doesn't seem to be what you want to do
- e.g:
/* Load required Assemblies for SharePoint Server and User Profile */
[System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName(“Microsoft.Office.Server”)
[System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName(“Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles”)
/* Central Adminstration URL or any Web Application*/
$url = "http://myserver:Port"
/* Create a new Context Object */
$contextWeb = New-Object
Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite("http://servername");
/* Get the right Service Context */
$ServerContext = [Microsoft.Office.Server.ServerContext]::GetContext($contextWeb);
/* create a new connection to the UserProfileManager */
$UserProfileManager = New-Object
Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileManager($ServerContext);
/* Remove Profile */ $UserProfileManager.RemoveUserProfile("CONTOSO\joesmith");

  • How do I fix a corrupt domain?

    Hi there,
Came across this last night and, whilst not the end of the world, it's inconvenient.
I just bought a 13" MBP running SL, and am wanting to use it to update my iWeb blog instead of the iMac G5 (leopard). I copied the "domain" file from the iMac to a USB and transferred it to the corresponding folder on the MBP. Opened iWeb - hey presto, the files were all there and looking exactly as I expected.
I created a new entry, attempted to publish, and got the dreaded "Publish error: An unknown error occurred" pop-up.
Searched the interwebz for a solution, and found one to determine if the problem was with the transferred domain file - moved the domain file on the MBP to a new folder, deleted the User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iweb.plist file, restarted, opened iWeb, created a new site and published to a local folder etc etc). A-OK, therefore problem seems to be with the transferred domain file being corrupt
My question is - How can I fix this corrupted domain file so I can use the MBP for iWeb'ing?

    Chris Wever wrote:
I tried to post a new entry on my blog (on the original Mac) and still got the publishing error. Shall I admit defeat yet?
Chris ~ Not yet. Since problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these forums, it might be useful to see whether removing the Blog page on your MBP enables you to successfully publish the rest of your site...
First make a backup of your Domain file:
    _Backing up your Domain file_
...then open iWeb and delete the Blog page. Then republish your website by choosing +Publish Entire Site+ from the File menu.
NOTE: If it successfully publishes, you will have determined that the problem is indeed in the Blog page. But having removed that page from your site, you may not be able to restore ANY of your blog by restoring from your backup and republishing — because you'll probably get the error again on both Macs.
By the way, for a success story using a non-iWeb blog hosted on WordPress, see this old thread:

  • How do I tell if a user profile is marked for deletion?

This is likely a question with a simple answer, but searching through Google and here hasn't helped.
How do I tell if a user profile has been marked for deletion?
Will it appear in the "Manager User Profiles" area of the User Profile Service Application management?
Do I need to look somewhere else?
This is probably obvious, and I just have looking disease, but your assistance is most appreciated!

As Paul said you can see that on UP admin page. also you can use powershell to get the list of all use in powershell.

how do you fix a corrupt ipod nano 4th gen?

    Hi bigmike94610,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
For iPod nano troubleshooting I would suggest the troubleshooting outlined in the following web link. I would suggest working through the steps in the order presented on the website, but you may ultimately need to restore your iPod.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium corrupted user profile

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and it looks like my user profile got corrupted.
    I tried so far:
reboot and go to safe mode and tried to Repair Installation. It didn't work.
reboot and go to safe mode and log in. The log in failed but logged me as Default. Tried to create another user profile so I could copy my files into it. But it have no option to create another account.
While still on safe mode, tried to copy the default account as a different name. It will copy the files but it will not create a new account.
While still on safe mode, tried to create a new account on the cmd prompt, but it didn't work either.
                  start net user newacc newpwd
                  start net user newacc atcive:yes
I run out things to do! Does anyone have a clue how to fix that?? Thanks a lot.

Check that User Profile Service (ProfSvc) startup type is set to automatic. Then perform
SFC scan. If the issue persists, try the  following methods (try any of the methods after moving any personal/important files to a safe location):
Method 1: Since you can logon in safe mode, go to the following directory and delete the folder Default : C:\Users\
Method 2: After logging on in safe mode, go to Start->right click Computer->click Properties. On the left pane, click Advanced System Settings. Under User Profiles, click Settings. Select Default Profile, click Delete. Restart the PC in normal mode
and then check. If it fails to solve the issue, this time, delete Default Profile as well your user account profile. Then, restart the PC in normal mode and then check.

  • Printer adds blue, how do I fix this? color profile? calibration?

I have an HP 3210 printer and iphoto 06.
When I make a copy of a picture with the printer in stand alone mode, the copy is almost an exact.
When I scan the photo into iphoto and print it, the printer seems to add blue.
    How do I fix this?
Can I create a custom solor profile or something to get it right?

    Patrick:
First, you did check your ink cartridges to make sure you're not out in any of them? Duh. Make sure your monitor is calibrated. I use sRGB as the profile and adjust the brightness to make up for the aging monitor. Setting the gamma at 2.2 will help with just darkness.
Do you have iPhoto's Advanced preferences set to Embed Color Profile? Not sure what would cause too much blue but in the Advanced printer settings under the Copies and Pages menu there are a couple of sections that you can use to adjust the print settings; Color Option and ColorSync. Create a new setting under the Presets menu and save those settings before each trial so that once you get what you want it will be easy to just select that preset and print.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How to troubleshoot failing applications or user profiles

    Hi,
I have a very curious issue. I am running Adobe Lightroom 3.3 64 bit mode for quite some time now.
However two days ago it fails to startup, and although it doesn't use a lot of processing power (activity monitor), my laptop is very slow and almost unresponsive when it happens.
Running Lightroom in 32 bit mode is fine, but also running it when logged in as another user in both 32 and 64 bit mode goes well.
I have also ran Mac OS X 10.6.5. in 32 and 64 bit mode, but the same issue here.
So I suspect the issue has something to do with my user, and not with the application itself.
How can I troubleshoot my userprofile?
Hope someone can help me out!
    Kind regards,
    Roeland

    Thanks again baltwo!
    Here's how I did it:
    1. I copied the whole Library/Preferences file of my corrupted user id to my new user id (in which I had confirmed everything worked. (To make sure it has something to do with the preference files.)
Result: Lightroom won't start in 64 bit mode.
    2. I copied the clean preferences list back to my clean user profile (LR3 worked again in 64bit) and only copied the "dirty" Lightroom 3 plist files to my new userid preferences folder.
Result: Lightroom3 did not work anymore in 64 bit mode. So it had to be in de Lightroom preferences.
    3. I started with my "dirty" LR3 preference file in 32 bit mode.
    I started searching for errors.
First of course in the 3rd party plugins. I noticed that all my third party plugins were installed but not running. So removed all corrupted plugins and voila! It runs again in 64 bit mode.
So now I redownload the plugins and install them one by one.
    Still running ok!
Probably something has corrupted my plugins directory, not sure what that could be. Except that I'm synchronizing a higher level directory including this one, so maybe that is it.
    Thanks everyone for the help!

  • Server 2012 R2 Corrupt User Profile Disks after RDSH reboot

    Hi,
We have a serious problem when using User Profile Disks, we have a pretty simple setup with a single RDGW & RDCB and the 2x RDSH with a folder share for redirected folders and another for User Profile Disks. Now if any server suffers a re-boot when users
are connected to it then their profiles gets corrupted and are issued with a temporary profile (we have a GPO to deny use of temp profiles) and so cannot log on.
I have searched the forums and found the following hotfix
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2896328 but this ONLY applies to Windows Server 2012.
Is there any published hotfix for Server 2012 R2, else we will need to look at another way of managing profiles ?
    Thanks,
    Donal

    Hi Donal,
Sorry to say but there is no other Hotfix related to this issue for Server 2012 R2. But you can try the option of deleting the SID from registry. You can find the below path and then search for proper associated SID with user name and then delete it.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\ProfileList
    More information.
RDS 2012: The User Profile Service Failed The Sign-In: User Profile Cannot Be Loaded

    Hope it helps!

  • How do I Fix Messed up Colour Profiles

I've somehow managed to completely mess up my colour profiles in Photoshop CS5. What a total Gormlops I am. Can anyone help me with these 2 related problems?
1 - ACR displays colours from RAW files as lifeless and dull compared to JPEG. I've searched countless forums and I'm lead to understand that RAW files don't include the 'in-camera' processing that we see on the JPEGS. What I don't understand is that ACR used to display the colours on my RAW files exactly like it did with JPEG files so although I understand the difference in the way ACR handles RAW vs JPEG why has this only become noticable in the last few months? I've had this installation of CS5 for almost 2 years and the problem crept in only recently. How do I fix this?
    2 - Proof Colours Confusion
I mostly work on the web and rarely need to print. Round about the same time the above problem reared it's ugly head I also started having issues with how many graphics colours looked in CS5. I realized that half of the time I was working with 'Proof Colours' switched off which made my colours really intense (something to do with gamma).
I checked my 'Proof Setup' and switched it to Internet sRGB seeing as I mostly work with web graphics and photos. I then hit Ctrl+Y to switch on Proof Colours and now I see the colours as they really are.
My question for this is twofold - Am I correct to be working in sRGB and is there ar way to have 'Proof Colours' always switched on so that I only EVER see the 'actual' colours that others will see when I publish my files to the web?
I can't help thinking that these two issues arose at the same time and are linked. I tried installing a demo of CS6 in the hopes it would set me back to where I used to be but alas nothing changed.
    Thanks in advance.

Try posting in the Adobe Camera Raw forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw?view=discussions
You might want to do a forum search there before posting, though.  This comes up repeatedly and has been discussed ad nauseam there.
In a nutshell ACR is not designed to emulate the in-camera JPEGs at all.

  • How to determine which AD server User Profiles is pulling from?

I have a User Profile set up, and can't recall specifying an AD server.
I've been asked to run multiple UP incrementals during the day. The SharePoint and SQL server seem capable of handling it, but I forgot to check performance of the AD server(s) during the nighly incremental.
How would I determine which AD server is being used, so I can test CPU and memory?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Go to:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\14.0\Synchronization Service\UIShell\miisclient.exe
On the Operations tab, if you look at any of the operations, there is a Connection Status box in the middle right. This contains the DC that it has connected to.

  • How can i start a new user profile service in ordre to replace an old one ?

    hi
i create a new user profile service in ordre to replace an old one
when i use : Get-SPServiceApplication i can see that hi is created but
when i use Get-SPServiceInstance i can see it i can see only the old one

    Hi,
The Get-SPServiceInstance returns the services instance for a specific server or the entire farm. The service instance GUID is unique to every farm and cannot be changed.
For starting a fresh with the User Profile Service configuration, you can unprovision and re-provision the User Profile Service:

  • How do I fix a corrupt Finder?

    Hi,
I am having problems with Finder in Yosemite 10.10.3. Here's what's happening:
    1) When I go to open a folder (e.g. "applications") through finder, the finder window is blank (as if the folder were empty), when it clearly isn't. This does not happen just with "applications", it's with any folder on my mac.
    2) Whenever this happens, I also notice that if I attempt to delete a file off my desktop (or anywhere in finder), there is a very long delay (several minutes) before the file is deleted (if it deletes at all).
    What I've tried:
    a) the quick fix is going to "force quit" and relaunching finder. This temporarily solves both of the above problems, but they immediately reoccur within a minute or two after having done this.
    b) I've also tried going in to: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and deleting the .plist file. That seems to solve the problem for a day or two, but eventually I'm back to where I started.  Interestingly, a couple times when I've gone in to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist  to delete that, I've found more than one finder.plist file there - (sometimes there are 2 or 3) - but - they always vanish within a second or two, once I'm in the preferences folder, before I can manually delete them. weird.
    c) I've run disk utility and repaired permissions, as well as DiskWarrior, tried restarting, etc.
The problem with the delay in deleting stuff is instantly fixed when I try either of the two fixes above ("a" or "b") so it seems to be related to the finder problem, and both occur at the same time. I also find I can't empty trash when these problems arise, or at least that it takes several minutes to do so, even if the files in trash are only 2 or 3 small files. Again, this is fixed (temporarily) buy both solutions, either "a" or "b" above.
*** I DO NOT want to have to reinstall OS X  as I view that as the "nuclear" option, and this should be fixable without having to resort to that. Yes, I have backups, but this problem exists on all.
Would love to get some suggestions on how I can fix this. What do you guy's think? ... it's the only problem I'm having on my Mac, and it's more than a little frustrating.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

    Hi,
Please help me in setting the environment variable using user profile file while using ssh method of connection (Can I use the same ~/.profile file?)
when i am logging in using the telnet, the environment variable is automattically set, but not when I am using SSH.

Please list your .profile and a ls -la of your home directory.
also list the result of env after your logged through telnet and ssh.
There should be no difference - it depends mostly on your login shell which startup script it executes. ksh uses .profile, bash: bash_profile then .profile.

I've used Match on my iPhone for awhile.  Now I have a playlist on the iPhone 4 that it won't play.  It won't play any song.  It plays songs in other playlists just fine.
