Web Apps published on two separate ports

Dear All,
I have already seen several cases, but looks like I did not get through the resolution of my problem.
I have two Sharepoint 2010 applications under internal sharepoint machine called internal.local. On the machine I have 2 separate web Apps, one on standard http port 80, one on port 8080.
There is a TMG which is used to present to the outside world the applications.
It has also another function, to enable Form Based Authentication which was not originally configured on Sharepoint 2010. As you may understand, for us it is crucial to use TMG to avoid risks on the application side. And I cannot simply byPass TMG since
it has a real function in my environment.
For the application on port 80 there is no problem, it shows the form with login and password and it goes straight to the web application. From internal network everything is fine as well, from TMG I can see all the applications (both on port 80 and 8080,
from the TMG server as well).
The second application (the one on port 8080) was added few weeks ago and there my problems started. I tried creating a new rule, a new listener, and using the bridging to diverge every call on port http://www.mywebsite.com:8080 to http://internal.local:8080.
What I get from external is that the resource is not reachable. Strange, I understood that the reason why bridging is there is when I want to diverge http to https, or, like in my case, when I want to reach a destination on port 8080 on the other side (or
any other port would be of interest).
I understood from other posts that in principle TMG may not be not capable do to this operation. Am I right? Am I trying to do something which is impossible by design?
In order to make it more "complex" I created also a new protocol (http_over_8080) which is used in order to enable web proxy. So I had a web service configured with the new protocol, the new listener on port 8080, the bridge enabled, and all from/to
rules settled properly.
Again... Resource is unreachable..... Damn....
Checking looks like the listener is not capable to intercept the port: how is it possible? In principle the listener is the same with the exception of the incoming port which is 8080 instead of 80.... Here I had a doubt: is it possible IPV6 is creating any
issue? Believe or not, if I try the bridge to port 8080 from the rule set on port 80, you will reach the right server.
Am I missing something? as told, the rule on port 80 works perfectly, but this new service is driving me crazy. Do you have any idea what I may have done wrongly? Any paper/case study/document to read?
I was oping that TMG was a bit easier with Microsoft Application Servers as MOSS is, but I start to have doubts. Today I started to look for something else, I like the products, but if I need to invest hours in trying configuration which will not work "by-design"
this will be a bit frustrating. Unfortunately we face with similar cases many days a week.
Happy to receive any suggestion or any additional input, and happy to try once again to re-do the config from scratch if somebody can suggest a methodology of few steps which may solve my issue.
Thank you everybody in advance.
Stefano

Hi,
Thank you for your post here.
Cound you access the website which is on port 8080 from TMG?
You must make sure that you can access it on TMG server. So you need to create new access rule to allow the protocol 8080 from TMG to website.
Meanwhile, i suggest you to upgrade your TMG to the latest version

  • Backing up iPad apps purchased with two accounts?

    For a recent sync, I "transferred purchases" from my iPad to iTunes and subsequently synced it to my iMac with my personal AppleID. Before syncing, my iPad had apps purchased with two separate AppleIDs on it.
    Upon doing a restore for the iOS5 upgrade, the apps purchase on the other AppleID account don't show up on my iPad.
    Where are the apps now and how can I get them, and their data, back?!? I know I can log into the other AppleID on my iPad and redownload the lost apps from the App Store. However, I need the DATA from the apps (note taking apps and such). How do I get that data back?
    If this isn't an option, this is a major fault of Apple's account design.
    Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions~

    Hello J_DougBC,
    Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  I found an article that addresses Apple IDs that are different than the Primary Email Address on the account.  You will need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same."
    If your Apple ID and primary email address do not match, or they match but the email address is unverified, you can edit them.
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. If you want to add and verify an email address that matches your Apple ID, follow the dialog box that says "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same." This will automatically unverify that email address from any other Apple ID for which it was previously verified.
    3. If you want to change your email address to one that does not match your Apple ID, click Edit next to your Primary Email Address. If this email address is already associated with another Apple ID, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and delete it before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
    Note: If you have an @me.com or @mac.com Apple ID and primary email address, you cannot edit your primary email address once it has been verified. To change your @me.com or @mac.com primary email address to another email address, contact Apple Support for assistance.
    You can find the full article here:

    I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • Web App Monitor Dash board is blank after switching to paid subscription

    Hello,
    I have successfully created a web app, published it to azure, and have been monitoring it on the Monitor dash board with all the 6 metrics, cpu time, requests, data in, data out etc. ever since starting the trial, and have watched the metrics on the dashboard
    show all the data without any problems.
    This past weekend, we switched over to a paid subscription, and now the monitor dashboard is blank. No metrics are being shown, and I have all the previous metrics selected so they should be displayed in the window. I switched over to the "New Portal"
    thinking that there may be an issue with the default management portal, but the new management portal is also blank.
    We also have a SQL Azure database as well, and I am not having any problems viewing any of the metrics for the database from either the default management portal or the New portal?
    Can anyone explain why this might be happening?
    thanks

    Hi,
      I think this may be a Azure server issues, If your issue is still not fixed, then i would suggest you Open a Billing Ticket from portal by selecting portal errors and exceptions.
      you can create a billing ticket
    here.
      I am also moving this thread to "Azure App Service - Web Apps" Forums for any other inputs from the respective community members.

  • Husband and Wife sharing iPad; possible to have two accounts w / separate logins? (or two separate email accounts using native apps)

    Each of us wants to check email, have our own bookmarks, own apps, etc.
    Logging in and out of certain apps like email seems like it would be a hassle, especially for my wife. Email is probably the biggie here, but web browsing is also a potential issue.
    We have our Mac set up like this, and was hoping there was some type of "switch user" feature on the iPad so we wouldn't delay logins (when you open the cover) but we would be able to each have our own "look and feel" to the device.
    Seems like a no-brainer, but have done some searching and sounds like this is a no-go. Workarounds are probably not going to work as my partner is not technically inclined.
    At the very least, we'd like to both be able to check email using the native app (without a lot of fussing to log in / out, typing long passwords etc).
    Possible?

    Thanks.
    Privacy is not the issue, rather the issue is ease of use and keeping a healthy marriage. She hates it when I change the settings (or background image, etc etc) and I hate not being able to customize the user experience to fit my needs.
    We do share a laptop and use two separate user accounts. I'm very surprised that multi-user capability is not built into iOS. Bummer. Kindle is getting toasted in the press for this. Seems iPad is no better.

  • Creating multiple web apps in 443 port number

    hi all,
     would like to know the speciality of 443 port number.can we create multiple web applns on this ?
    assume i have a  web app running on 443 called
    https://myportal.company.com   [  intranet ] can i create a  another web app on this same port, like
    https://mysites.company.com [  its a mysite web appln ]  and can we create an all different, Internet web appln on this same port ?
    if yes, what are the steps to achieve this.
    and curious to know why MSFT has designed like this.
    help is appreciated!

    Any Web App you create must be differentiated from other Web Apps in one of 3 ways.  It can use a custom IP address, a custom port number or a host header.  In your example you are already using the same port number and I assume you aren't using
    different IP addresses since that requires a fair amount of behind the scenes work.  So that would leave creating the two web apps with different host headers.  The problem with this approach is that Apps in SharePoint require at least one web app
    in the farm with NO host header.  So if https://myportal.company.com was created using no host header then https://mysites.company.com must be created using a host header.  Any additional Web apps using 443 will also need to be created with host
    headers.  Apps will then all run off the MyPortal web app.  You can specify the host header for the web app when creating the web app.  Everything else is normal.
    To answer your question of why it is designed this way.  This is the way IIS server works and really has nothing to do with SharePoint.

  • Possible to have two login configs in same web app?

    Sorry for not having tried this first, my server and webapp are in a state
    of flux at this moment, but I wanted to see what the consensus is out there,
    not just whether I can or cannot make something work quickly.
    If I have two types of things that might be called in my Web App (WAR) in
    different ways (eg, browser accessing via HTTP by users that want to login
    via pretty forms, and SOAP clients that may access functionality through the
    same servlets (but with alternate Servlet Path Info after the servlet name
    in the URL)), is there ANY way I can have multiple login configs, each tied
    to a different security constraint within that web app?
    In other words, with a servlet of /frazzleblitz and security constraints
    like:
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    and the SOAP constraint (for all users of incoming SOAP requests):
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Foo</web-resource-name>
    <url-pattern>/frazzleblitz/doFooBar</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>FoobarBrowserUsers</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    </security-constraint>
    where my frazzleblitz controller knows whether the incoming request is
    browser vs SOAP based by the path info after the servlet name
    Can I associate the first security constraint with a FORM based login
    config, and the second security constraint with a BASIC AUTH login config
    since I could in theory require SOAP clients to send in credentials in a
    HTTP BasicAuth header, but I can't expect a SOAP client to be HTTP
    Redirected to a login form and then to enter the right credentials into a
    user type form and then be redirected back to an app...
    Seems to me the J2EE Security spec is really lacking in the area of
    programmatic authentication (allowing my SOAP code to get credentials out of
    the request envelope and call an API to login myself). Yeah, WebLogic has
    the ServletAuthentication weak() API, but these apps need to be J2EE
    compliant and work across J2EE servers... Anybody know of any improvements
    coming in the J2EE security space to address such functionality needs?
    Thanks in advance

    Sorry, hit send accidentally before finishing the second security
    constraint - I've fixed it up below to reflect what I meant...

  • Publishing to Azure Web App when using nuget "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" crashes WebDeploy

    I have a project where I use "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" that loads an assembly manually as part of the package.
    The problem arises when I publish this via Visual Studio. I get an error that the file is already in use from WebDeploy. This is probably because of how the assemblies are loaded or something that makes them locked.
    Repro steps:
    Create an ASP.NET web and add nuget package "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" and make sure you load the assembly using the provided ReadMe.txt in your App_Start.
    Deploy to Azure Web App.
    Deplay again when the app is up and running - you'll get the error.
    Does WebDeploy have an option for shutting down the site when updating or something like that? This error also apply to any WebJobs that also use the "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" package.

    there is a way to take the site down during publishing please read through this blog post

  • HT204053 What are the pros and cons of 1) choosing to use the SAME Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or 2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides

    All is in the title, so I repeat it below with a better identation.
    What are the pros and cons of
    1) choosing to use the SAME
                                                  Apple ID for iCloud services on one side, and
                                                  purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore, on the other side; or
    2) to have and use two separate Apple Ids for these "two sides"?
    P.S.
    I have loads and loads of free podcasts in iTunes in my iMac, that are certainly more thant the 5 gigas the iCloud provides for free, so I don't want those to go to the cloud. But this is perhaps a different question...
    Also need to mention that I have itunes on a mac, a pc and an iphone.
    Sorry to look so silly with this question, but I don't get the "big picture".

    You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

    I have two iPads, two separate accounts I have purchased apps on one Acc. and would like to use them on my second iPad. How is this possible

    If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps.This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
    Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
    That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with.

  • Office 2013 - SharePoint Web App: How can I link a subform on two Master/Child controls?

    I have a form in which I have placed a subform in a SharePoint Web App.
    I also have 2 controls on the form, from which I'd like to link to two columns on the subform.  How can I have two Master/Child linking relationships to a subform.
    In Access desktop, it is done in a window "Subform Field Linker", like this:
    Master Fields:          Child Fields:
    <sorry I could not include a link until my account is verified>

    Keith

    Hi Bruce,
    >>Are subforms in web apps different in this regard?<<
    Yes, there are two kinds of database. In an on-premise environment, Access 2013 apps are hosted by SharePoint 2013 while the data is stored in SQL Server 2012. SharePoint 2013 provides authentication, authorization, and security for Access 2013 apps.
    The back-end tables, views, macros, and queries are stored in a SQL Server 2012 database.
    You can get more detail about Access 2013 web app from link below:

  • My wife and I both have iPads and two separate iTunes accounts, and do NOT want to share apps

    My wife and I share one MacBook. We both each have an iPad and we each have our own indvidual iTunes accounts. That is we have two separate individual iPads and two separate iTunes accounts. I do not want her apps on my iPad, and she does not want my apps on her iPad.
    When my wife tries to update her apps on her iPad, it shows my user ID and requests my password. It does not even give her an option to put in her own iTunes account ID and password. This happens even though she is clearly logged in on her iPad under Settings --> Store with her own iTunes account, and have the same setup on my iPad (my own user ID and password for my iTunes account). I do not have this problem on my iPad.
    How do we keep our apps separate? This is very annoying!
    Thanks!

    There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
    The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
    No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
    I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can you have two separate products appear on Newsstand if they live in the same Enterprise app?

    A client has two sets of publications - a weekly and a monthly.
    We ideally want to build an Enterprise app that houses all their weekly and monthly publications. Both products need to appear in Newsstand.
    Is this possible? If so, how do we partition the app so that the publications are separate? I assume we would need a custom storefront as well.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you want to create 2 separate apps on Newsstand then you need to build and manage these separately. This requires you to create 2 separate App IDs and build separate apps using App Builder.
    Remember that folios are always uploaded into a specific application account. This means you'd have to create a separate application account for the other app and only upload the folios you'd like to see in that app.
    Do note that apple will probably give you issues if you offer the exact same content twice, so they'll reject the app. If you do want to differentiate between users only getting the weekly vs monthly issues I'd suggest you use an entitlement server.

  • Can I have two separate logins/restricted directories in the same web site?

    Hi,
    I want to have an admin area where I go against a user table to see if the user has admin rights and a separate area of the web site where regular users need a username and password that is validated against a different table.
    All the pages in the admin area are in the admin directory.
    All the pages in the other restricted area are in a consumers directory.
    Both these directories are off the root.
    Will this work ok? It seems to be, but I just wanted to check.
    Many thanks!

    No, I have two separate tables. It seems to be working, and I am hoping it is because I've kept all the pages that use one table in one directory, and all the pages that use the other table in another directory. Just wondering if I am asking for trouble. They are two different functions. One is for site administration, and one is for a number of users.

  • Will Publishing Affect a BC Web App?

    Hi there,
    I have a site, (www.ddfitness.co.uk), that I've created through Muse.
    I've published the site onto an e-commerce plan. In the meantime I've had a developer create a webapp which can be found here ----> (Find a Personal Trainer)
    What I'm worried about though is that when I come to update my site via Muse it will delete the Web App and/or the pages that have been created by the developer.
    Am I safe to publish?
    Thanks
    Simon

    Not heard of that, you can always build this yourself though.
    It depends on the design and implementation you want.
    Basic use would be a custom field - multiline and you copy the embed code into it and they render out based on your web app layout.
