How do I get my Microsoft Surface RT tablet to accept my HP Photosmart 5520 wireless printer?
My tablet was printing to the hp then decided it wouldn't so I uninstalled it and now I can't get it back. The tablet says there are no devices found. What is the answer other than buying another printer?
Hi McCallum, welcome to the HP Forums. Windows RT has built in drivers for many printers. All you need to do it plug it in, if you are using it with a USB cable. If you are using it over the network wirelessly you should just have to use the Add Printer wizard.

Under "Step two: Install the software" choose "Windows RT"

try disabling email scanning for incoming mail.
One of the last things that occurs is the mail server and Thunderbird sign off on "where we are up to" and Thunderbird stores this state information in the popstate.dat file in your profile (there is one in each POP mail account folder). If the anti virus, or you for that matter, end the conversation a few seconds early that hand off does not occur and the popstate is not stored. -

The latest version for Snow Leopard is 1.6.0_65. You can check this by opening Terminal and typing
java -version
you will get a readout like this:
java -version
java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-10M4609)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)
(don't type anything else in Terminal and close it when done).
If you don't have this version you can get it from Software Update (under the Apple menu). There are other versions available for download for Lion and later, but these are not applicable to Snow Leopard. -

I need to accept cookies to log into a technical site. I clear all cookies and the history and follow the instructions for setting privacy options to "Use custom settings for history" and to accept all cookies. When I go back to try logging into the site, it still tells me cookies aren't accepted. When I go back to Options-Privacy, the setting has been changed back to "Remember history" from "Use custom settings for history". I have done this about 5 times, trying various options, closing Firefox after making the change and starting it again - nothing works. How can I get the privacy settings to stay as I set them and accept cookies?
Blocking all cookies in Safari does not work. Deleted cookies will not stay deleted. There are numerous threads on this going back years, both in these forums and elsewhere. Many claim to have submitted the issue to Apple, but I have never seen anyone post a reply.
I have seen many suggested fixes that involve finding the cookies file, some including Terminal manipulations, and none seems to work universally. I can find noplace where Apple addresses this officially with an actual Apple-approved explanation or how-to.
Bottom line, your browser's security features should do what they claim: delete cookies. When they come back without ever even visiting another page, this is clearly not working in the way a reasonable user would expect.
Bottom line, Safari does not protect users' privacy in the way it pretends to and, after so many years of this issue, it appears that Apple wants it this way.
Having spent way too much time on this, I realize the choice is between Safari which is pretty well optimized; Firefox which is a lot pokier, at least for me; and Chrome, which I assume funnels personal information directly to Google. -
After updating the app blitz brigade, the app disapears from the screen and is not available anymore. It is not possible to download it again because there is no cloud behind it anymore in the app store. But I made in app buys, so I spend a lot of money and now I can not acces the game. Does anybody know how I can get acces again to my game and get my levels back as well?

Don't tell me to search, I already have and it's not addressed neither here, the company's website nor any "help files".
Don't ask me to explain the issue, most who I tell it to give an ignorant and arrogant response. I've yet to meet someone who can grasp the issue, the failure of microsoft to accomodate a portion of its users.
The company spends millions of dollars on letting people customize things, on multilanguage versions, on accessibility for the disabled, etc., but not one single dime on another minority group inconvenienced by their poor programming.
I want an email address of an actual person involved in system development, not some useless "help desk" that answers questions based on a script.I get how frustrating it can be to not know where to take your problem, especially after repeated attempts and continuing to get told "sorry that feedback doesn't belong here." I get reports from several people not about TechNet subscriptions,
not about MSDN, some people even ask here about products that aren't Microsoft Products. Someone posted here asking for help with Facebook. These are people who just need some help and they dont know where to turn.
There are so many different aspects to each Microsoft Product, and so many different products, there is just no one person that is an expert on everything.

We recently migrated from a Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012 print server. When recomposing a linked clone pool with the old 2003 server, drivers were taken care of for the printer when the user printed for the first time after desktop recompose. With 2012, any printer using the Point and Print driver doesn't seem to obtain the driver again from the 2012 server. All of our clients are running Windows 7 which means the Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver is not installed in the OS natively.
I apparently need to figure out a way to get this installed on the host image so it trickles down to snapshots when recomposing the linked clone pool but I haven't been able to dig much information on doing this. Does anyone out there have any insight on how to accomplish this? If I recompose a pool now for a user who is using a new Point and Print driver, they get the following message that is resolved by removing the printer from their account and re-adding it:
"The 'Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver' printer driver is not installed on this computer. Some printer properties will not be accessible unless you install the printer driver. Do you want to install the driver now?"
I figured the easy solution would be to just install a printer using the Point and Print driver and then remove it...leaving the driver behind (unless it cleaned up after itself). The problem with this is in my testing, even after removing and re-adding a printer that set off installation of this Point and Print driver on the client, any other printer that was using it still required the remove/re-add process in order to work, else I got the same message. That tells me that the driver may be custom for each printer installed?
Color me a little confused. I do NOT like the way that Server 2012 handles printers. I've come across a few other issues as well (such as duplex capabilities not being remember on the print server for a printer) that I never had with the 2003 server.

How can I get back (Microsoft Office 2013), I recently deleted b/c Firefox questioned it?
I managed to get back my Microsoft Office 2013 in this pc by activating required program. After a restart, I was prompted by Firefox screen to resume previous settings or continue with the new one. I accidentally checked the wrong box and got me back to continue using my old program (2003 version).
Sounds that Firefox had crashed or otherwise wasn't closed correctly the previous time.
Any choice made there should not have effect on other programs.<br />
If you didn't restore the windows from the previous session, but started a new session then the tabs from the previous session are most likely lost if you have started Firefox more than once and a new sessionstore.bak file has been created.

If you didn't succeed to finish the registration of a new program then you could try to repeat that action in the MS Office program.
Best would be to make sure that Firefox is already running and if possible then copy the link and paste it in the Firefox location bar manually to prevent this issue from happening again. -

I was prompted when downloading Firefox to UPDATE Microsoft DRM Plugin and the Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin. The Update tab for the first download was unresponsive. The second upon following the search given to me, was basically chats and had nothing to do with the actual download. durestudios told me it may mess up my computer, then he said that he may be wrong, then he said it would be alright, then he admitted that HE DID NOT KNOW! I have tried to make my Microsoft Office for MAC's OUTLOOK program work as the default email system. But ATT/Yahoo says its service is not compatible with the MAC version of Microsoft Outlook... Has anyone been able to make it work? I can't change my ISP right now.
